A Week in Paradise: Exploring the Enchanting Island of Malta
Welcome to Malta! As we stepped off the plane and into the warm Mediterranean breeze, we knew we were in for a magical week.
Malta is an archipelago of coralline limestone, located in Europe, in the Mediterranean Sea, and northeast of Africa. There are 18 uninhabited islands forming part of the archipelago, and three inhabited - Malta, Gozo (Għawdex) and Comino (Kemmuna) with a population of (2023 est.) 538,200 people.
If you're a summer lover like us, this is the perfect destination for you. Malta has a Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers, warm and sporadically wet autumns, and short cool winters with adequate rainfall.
If we compare, we could say that the climate is similar to the northern of Chile, since it is characterized being dry and hot

The Humble City of Valletta, Most Proud
Malta’s capital, “il-Belt” in Maltese but commonly known as Valletta (a UNESCO World Heritage site) is on Malta, the larger of the two principal islands, from which the republic takes its name. The second largest island, Gozo, is a short ferry ride from Cirkewwa on Malta’s northwest coast to Mgarr. The ferry by-passes Kemmuna, the third largest island, which, like about fifteen other tiny islands, does not have a permanent town, though it does boast ‘The Chapel of Our Lady’s Return from Egypt.’ The Order of St. John gave Valletta the name Humilissima Civitas Valletta (Most humble city of Valletta), after the Grand Master, Jean de Vallette, who founded it. However, Valletta earned a quite contrary nick-name, used by some of Europe’s royalty, Superbissima (proudest), presumably because of its grandeur and pride of place. The tunnel up to the main city from the harbor, the cathedral, and a street view (below), provide some basis for believing the nickname.

MOI, J’AI DIT BIZERTE ?
