Rewatching Miss Americana and I'm having a hard time believing anyone that said this ticket fiasco was her fault ever watched it in the first place. Honestly, this woman has gone through so much for her fans, and her career.

The part where Mama Swift said she was "so proud of her for taking on this shitbag of shit", and Taylor saying "It's okay, it's over now."

But it's never over and she just keeps going in spite of it all. That alone is why I didn't doubt that she did all she could to make sure tickets got to fans, but her trust was broken by one of the biggest conglomerate companies in the world.

Today, she didn't have to prove that, but she did. Taylor will always try to protect her fans. And we will always try to protect her.

"Simon does serial killer things. What a rascal!" Another fantastically written Simon, with wonderful dashes of Gaz and Price. It's put the term 'romance knives' in my vocabulary. There are many quotable bits and moments that made my blood run cold with how normal the ~situation~ feels, but everything has to be experienced firsthand.

The Far Shore by @deadbranch - Soap x Reader

DB's fic collection is rich, and The Far Shore is no different. I fucking loved Pacific Rim, so when I saw her first mention a PR AU, I did imaginary backflips. DB's Readers are some of my favorites because of how complex and realistic they feel, and when combined with the visceral depth of the neural handshake AND Soap? Compelling. The dynamic between them is fascinating. I almost can't wait for it to be finished so I can go back and dissect it.

Falling into Place by @mortuarywriting

Morg's brought the first COD Isekai AU I've read, like a little treat, with A/B/O to boot. The first chapter hooked me and cracked me up. Their dialogue reads so well, it truly feels like I got sucked into the universe. The panicked ramblings, the over-explanation, the 'oh shit, we don't even have a shared cultural touchstone' moments. I cannot wait for more.

Carvings by @femalefemur - Price x Reader

Cyn's got this amazing thing going on called 'Top Quality Worms' where she takes me by the hand and leads me down a rabbit hole I didn't know I'd find so cozy. Carvings is one piece from her incredible list, featuring a bloody, possessive Captain Price. Somehow, out of this entire piece, Price snapping a pen really did it for me. Did someone say loss of control? Oh no, not my kryptonite!

Under Your Spell by @groguspicklejar - Gaz x Reader x Soap

This fic had me at the pairing tag. Lured me right in. No hope for me, and I'm not mad about it. The way Gaz and Soap play off of each other in Under Your Spell is spine-tingling in more ways than one. The definition of scaroused. Kelsi writes a wonderful Gaz. The first two paragraphs in part two, Split My Skin, describe him perfectly to me.

Chokehold by @ccrites - Soap x Reader

Chokehold is a chef's kiss read. Starts off as a cute and sweet gym read, and uh, well, it does get sweeter, in a way. Without spoiling anything, there is a brief cab ride that made me take a lap before things got really going for Reader. CC's Soap is a delightful tease that is tender all at the same time. I'd join his gym in a heartbeat.

Knight/Princess AU by @a-small-writer-in-a-big-world - Price x Reader

I've read and re-read this AU series a dozen times. It's so gd cute, I might need to see the dentist about how it's rotting my teeth. Seriously, it makes ME want to be a princess. Specifically Price's princess. Bear writes such a sweet and gruff Price, catch me holding a hand over my heart and just sighing. I'm also a big fan of multiple POVs and the insight into each character.

Martyr in the Making by @eilidh-eternal - Ghost x Reader

I had a tattoo touch-up the other day, and while waiting, I thought about this fic: the dream and nightmare of being tattooed by Simon and the rest of the 141. It's a dream for obvious reasons (probably unhealthy for me) and a nightmare because of, well, you'll have to read the story. Getting a tattoo can be such an intimate experience. You put yourself into someone's care and get something permanently etched onto your body. When Reader sits for Simon, you're right there with her, the two of you on an altar.

Liquid Smooth by @cordeliawhohung - Gaz x Reader

Bodyguard!Gaz save me, save me, bodyguard!Gaz. Ugh, Gaz is fucking incredible in every flavor, but there is something that hits different about the guy when he's flexing those 'VIP protection' skills. There are several tiny moments in Liquid Smooth that made me audibly whisper, "God, I wish that were me." If you have a conifer tree allergy, you might not be able to handle the god-tier pining. (I'll see myself out.)

Gotta include the series that I drop everything for whenever I see an update. Another fantastic depiction of best man Kyle Gaz Garrick. The charm, the jealousy, the care...My personal favorite installments are Whispers and Threesomes.

Ghost gets his Captain a puppy, and Synth gives us a tasty Price x Reader x Ghost story. I've linked the intro and a Simon x Reader snippet, but my personal favorite is Punishment. Punishment is a deeper dive into Price the disciplinarian: "how the hell do i get a mutt like you to fuckin’ listen?" I'd gush about it, but again, this is another one to read and experience firsthand. One of my favorite recent explorations of a PriceGhost dynamic.

“It’s a bed, Kelsi. That’s it. You just- you just have to lay down in it,” she told her reflection. Her reflection was still quivering. “Why am I nervous? Maudite, it’s just a bed.” 

Her hands gripped the ceramic edges of the sink. The sleeves of her nightgown draped onto her hand delicately. Her hair hung loose and shaggy around her cheeks. Her breath was sharp and forced between freshly brushed teeth. 

It was just a bed, but it was Noah’s bed. 

It wasn’t as if they hadn’t slept together before, in either sense of the word. But both times, it had been in Kelsi’s room, in her bed. This was the first time that she would be sleeping in her boyfriend’s bed. 

Boyfriend. That was still so surreal to her. 

Said boyfriend knocked on the door. “If you don’t get out soon, I’ll go to bed without you. And lock the door.” 

“Coming!” Kelsi squealed, cringing at how her voice echoed in the bathroom. “Just- just washing my face!” She turned on the faucet and began splashing water, just to sell it. 

She did end up washing her face if only to help ground her and give her hands something to do. She was also pretty sure Noah would notice if she hadn’t washed her face, because he's observant and awful. The water did help. It snapped her out of whatever fugue state she was in. 

Nevertheless, Kelsi was still trembling as she closed the door to Noah's bedroom behind her. He was already lying in bed, reading. “You don't have to be nervous,” he said without looking up. “I get being anxious, I do, but you don't have to be. It's not like we haven't done this before.” He placed a bookmark in the book and set it on the floor. Then, he patted the bed before rolling on his side. His face was towards the wall, leaving his back exposed to Kelsi. 

She smiled despite her jitters. “You want me to be the big spoon?” she asked as she climbed next to him. 

“Well, the last time I was the big spoon, I ended up kissing someone's ear on national television,” Noah replied dryly. As if sensing Kelsi’s expanding grin, he added, “That's not an invitation. I don't- getting my ears wet is a no-no.”

Kelsi settled onto the pillow, wrapping her arms around his waist. “Is this alright?”

“Yeah,” Noah answered, leaning into her touch. “I like… having pressure on me. Owen sleepwalks and he'd end up laying on top of me.”

“I thought he only sleepwalks after eating beans,” she commented.

“He used to, but at some point, he graduated to sleepwalking after consuming any protein.” Both shuddered in unison. “Whatever. I ended up getting used to it. Beat out having to buy a weighted blanket.”

“You don't have to explain if you don't wanna,” Kelsi reassured him. She rested her forehead against the back of his head. “Just let me know if I do anything that pushes your boundaries.”

“You’re not Sierra.” Kelsi couldn't argue with that. Instead, she burrowed herself further under Noah's comforter. “...hey. Are you still nervous?”

Kelsi watched Noah's back rise and fall with each breath. “Could you talk to me for a little bit? About anything. Like- like what is okay to do, and what isn’t. In our relationship,” she babbled. 

She was met with silence, and she momentarily thought she managed to piss him off. Soon, though, she heard “Kissing is alright, as long as you give me some sort of signal. I like hugging and cuddling most of the time. But if I tell you to stop, do it. Don’t touch my chest, especially if I’m not wearing my binder. I’m serious about the wet ears thing, never give me a wet wi- are you falling asleep already?”

Kelsi’s eyes were already drooping. “I listen to music to fall asleep,” she mumbled. “Or Sierra’s rambling. Yours is nicer. Hmm…” 

“If you want a lullaby, you gotta sing it yourself. I left my singing back on that godforsaken plane,” Noah said dryly. Kelsi could hear the affection in his voice, too. In his own roundabout way, he was asking for her to sing. 

She hummed. She watched the vibration of her lips move Noah’s hair slightly between lidded eyes. “The stars lean down to kiss you, and I lie awake and miss you. Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere,” she sang softly. Noah moved her hands over his stomach. She smiled. “‘Cause I’ll doze off safe and soundly, but I’ll miss your arms around me. I’d send a postcard to you dear, ‘cause I wish you were here.” 

She fell asleep to the smell of Noah’s 2-in-1 shampoo and the heat of his body, and Kelsi had never slept better in her life.

i've been following you for a while now, in fact you were one of my first accounts i followed on here from ao3 but i always preferred lurking bc it seemed less aggressive that way? mainly in the sense that it was less confrontational and i was able to enjoy your masterpieces from afar. ANYWAYS SORRY FOR THE NONSENSICAL RAMBLING.

i just wanted to shower you with adoration and remind you that your work and way of writing is phenomenal, the religious imagery and recurring themes are so beautifully executed and your descriptions and characterisations are so raw yet intimate.

Hi anon! Thank you so much for your kind words regarding my IC content and OOC ramblings, that's really nice of you to say. I'm happy to recommend some things (I admit I did a 'Stitch laughing maniacally on a pile of wreckage' when I got this ask because anon, I am not sure you know what you have asked to unleash!).

However, I wasn't sure if you were asking for recommendations for books/TV series that have directly inspired my Sonia portrayal, or recommendations of things I enjoy in general. With that in mind, I'm going to be sharing a long list of books, TV series, manga/webtoons, and story-based video games that I just happen to like.

A note about SJM series: I highly suggest reading TOG or ACOTAR first, with the understanding the first three or so TOG books and the first ACOTAR books have a slower pace and are more about worldbuilding than anything else. Read Crescent City after these two (CC 1 is also a big, long worldbuilding book). You must read ACOTAR to read CC, but you do not need to read TOG to read CC (though you'll miss some of the references/easter eggs!).

Code: Realize (The best storytelling of all otome games, hands down. Do not watch the anime: it sucks. The first game is the best and really the only one you need to play. The other two games have okay side stories and are mostly romantic continuations of the first game's routes)

Collar x Malice

Cupid Parasite (mostly for the last two routes, though: if you're using a walkthrough guide. Generally much lighter than your usual otome...save for the last two routes that serve to break you.)

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (you could watch both seasons of the original anime if you really want to, but the games are better)

Umineko no Naku Koro ni (Note: please keep in mind this was written 10+ years ago in Japan, especially when you get to the Big Reveals in the final game. There are Some Takes that would go over poorly today. Like Code: Realize, do not watch the anime: IT SUCKS.)

okay we did relationships etc today so im gonna ramble bc im really happy

bismuth is specifically on the run from her bureaucratic job in the tesseract isles, which was too complicated for her. her job title is "complications manager". her boss, /k!/, is trying to bring her back because k thinks bismuth is just really good at her job. bismuth and nile are roommates. bismuth's learning about earth culture from him, but he's a bit of a shut-in so she's mostly learned about the internet and about ducks at the local duck pond. she also loves bowling because its vaporwave but mundane - the tesseract isles is kafkaesque vaporwave. she actually really enjoys mundanity. bowling is also sphere-based which she appreciates as her culture is mostly about cubes. bismuth also goes to school with sara (who she has a crush on), where she tries (and mostly fails) to masquerade as a human.

nile, as mentioned, is a shut-in who enjoys duck watching at Primary Park. he has a pet rat named august alquist. august is nile's one supportive figure outside the team. he's a good rat. he discovered his powers when, on a walk, he stumbled across the superhero The Firefly (a few years older than him) in a fight and accidentally negated The Firefly's flight powers and got her hurt. The two of them are on pretty good terms now, but people at school found out and nile now gets bullied :< except by betty, who loves to go breaking and entering with him :3

betty's Love is nile because of this friendship between them. he knows all about how Doctor Prometheus experimented. she was experimented on because she was in a coma after getting hit by a car and her parents were desperate for help. the person who hit her - suzanne - is actually the mother of a current superhero and has made an effort to help betty out out of guilt. betty's powers basically make her always caffinated - she can't sleep more than 4 hours unless nile uses power negation on her. betty's Rival is sara, who, during their first mission, kept blocking blows for betty even though fighting is how betty works through her emotions and energy.

sara is, of course, pissed at this, because she's trying so fucking hard to be a professional hero. she keeps her hero identity and her civilian identity VERY separate. of course, that makes it weird when her friend and crush kelsie thinks that osseus is a freakish monster. her ex, zoe, knows her secret identity. the two of them are friends but its weird. sara is extremely overworked, bouncing between the gymnastics team, babysitting, and generally being popular. she knows everyone's coffee order and constantly tries to bring people coffee.

the team's first fight was against the Mole Man, an annoying little bitch who kept tunneling beneath the city. they saved the life of a judge who has been an outspoken advocate for them since, but they destroyed sara's school's gym, which got turned into a sinkhole that is mysteriously hard to repair.

had my first masks session today :3 we didnt finish character creation bc we had limited time so we didnt get to relationships/when our team came together, but characters are mostly finalized and im so excited to gm this

janus - sara/osseus, popular kid with horrifying bone growth abilities. her friend/crush thinks osseus is a monster!

bull - betty/battery, victim of an experiment that turned her veins to fire, struggling to readjust to teen life

delinquent - nile/nihilty, shut-in with emotion control and power negation who's seen as potentially villainous

there's a part of me that remembers that, yeah, i am a lil fucked up, im a weirdo with friends who usually are on my speed but I also have friends that are aggressively normal

I met my friends' first kid today, they were born 10 days ago, and everything about the way my friends talked about them and in relation to me had me thinking, oh man these people are IN it for the long run and theyre hoping for me to be along with them

here i am making jokes on the daily of giving up at the slightest inconvenience but I have friends to whom im a significant part of, really drilling in that i actually matter to people
