thejasminebrand New information has surfaced regarding #ToryLanes controversial defense in the shooting incident involving rapper #MeganTheeStallion.

In a series of emails obtained by legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff, R&B star Tory Lanez’s ex-attorney, Shawn Holley, seemingly pushed against her client’s decision to claim that Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend, #KelseyHarris, fired the gun.

As previously reported, in 2020 Tory Lanez was accused of striking Megan Thee Stallion in her foot after the pair (+ Kelsey Harris) left a party at reality phenomenon Kylie Jenner’s home. The occurrence resulted in nationwide media coverage, with many narratives thrust to the forefront.

Ultimately, in December 2022, a California jury found Lanez guilty of three felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, vehicle possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Since the ruling, the “Say It” crooner has (seemingly) pulled out all the stops to prove his innocence, including bringing on new representation, lawyers Jose Baez and Matthew Barhoma.

Earlier this year, Lanez’s team attempted to seek an appeal, arguing that he didn’t receive a fair trial due to improper evidence and violation of the defendant’s rights, which was rejected by Judge David Herriford.

Exclusively revealed by Meghann Cuniff, in the recently-exposed messages, Lanez’s old representative, Shawn Holley, expressed her disapproval of arguing Kelsey Harris was responsible for the shots that hit Stallion.

In November 2022, she reportedly wrote,

“Tory, as we discussed on Saturday, I am not comfortable advancing the ‘[Kelsey Harris] defense,’ primarily because I don’t find it to be a viable strategy.”

#NickiMinaj is adamant that her choice words for #MeganTheeStallion came from the heart… literally.

Celebrated lyricist Nicki Minaj recently joined an X space (formerly Twitter) with rapper/podcaster #JoeBudden and sparked controversy for the umpteenth time.

As previously reported, drama ensued after fellow rhymer Megan Thee Stallion released her latest track titled “HISS” on Jan. 26. In the viral song, she (seemingly) takes shots at Nicki Minaj and her husband, #KennethPetty.

Megan Thee Stallion raps,

“These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these h*es mad at #MegansLaw / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak a** won’t address me / B*tches wear they G, but the G must stand for ‘Goofy.’”

It’s been known for quite some time that the “Hot Girl Summer” collaborators fell out not too long after the success of the 2019 hit. While it has yet to be confirmed (exactly) why, Minaj accused Stallion of encouraging her to get an abortion so she could drink alcohol. However, there’s also speculation that Stallion’s closeness with #CardiB ignited a feud between the former friends.

Many believe that Stallion’s ‘Megan’s Law’ line in “HISS” was directed toward Minaj’s partner, Petty, who was given three years of probation for failing to register as a sex offender in 2022. If you didn’t know, he previously served a four-year-plus sentence for the attempted rape of a woman named Jennifer Hough in 1994. Megan’s Law is a statute that requires sex offenders’ information to be available to the public.

Minaj has since responded to Stallion’s alleged diss with one of her own called “Big Foot,” where she claims the 28-year-old “lied on” her deceased mother and twisted her story in regards to her shooter, #ToryLanez, and ex-best friend, #KelseyHarris, among other things.
