I got a Toby Keith song stuck in my head and now I’m sad :( he was one of my fav singers growing up like I loved country music growing up my mum a huge fan and that’s just part of my childhood and listening to the older artists like Reba and Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith is nostalgic and I miss those days cause the new country singers they’ve had for like the past idk 6 years just ain’t it at all. Maddie & Tae are the last ones that I listened to they had a good song, and I did like Hunter Hayes in the beginning but now it’s just shit. But anyway when my mum and I was watching the people’s country choice awards Toby Keith was there in the audience and he even performed but it was a newer song and idk when it came out but shit had me crying my ojos out into my ice cream, even he cried I swear we all did but he didn’t smile often. He looked so tired and sad and it’s just hard to see him like that and it makes me really sad. I love Toby Keith and when he dies that’s just another person from my childhood and my memories gone and :( I’m really sad about it.

This is my truth tbh. Angela Kang babes why don't you and Melissa ride off into the sunset and leave all these men behind.

Literally just give me carol doing literally anything BUT being a side prop to daryl/darren's man pain.

Solo carol, carol & OC, carol & zeke (sue me - their divorced dynamic is cute and wholesome af), carol & fucking eugene idc, carol & lydia (not even joking that is a MISSED opportunity), carol & ash (obviously), carol & hallucination alpha (we don't talk enough about the explosive chemistry between samantha morton and melissa mcbride we really don't), carol & kelly, CAROL & CONNIE (actually this is a sick idea why didn't they do THIS??!), carol & maggie, carol & michonne (ok I know michonne has a fam, but if she can disappear for years to go find rick, she can go away with carol to talk through all that child loss bonding - also the plot could just be the same as dead city where they're looking for a kidnapped Judith* & RJ - and rick is just busy with smth else whatever, maybe he can make brief appearances - or he can be there too, but no cockblocking our girls pls), hang on hang on CAROL & JUDITH.

*I'm still processing the moment Judith recognised carol and said to her that her hair got REALLY long and carol said it DID, it was so cute and I may never recover, I fear.

No but actually Carol and Judith would be the BEST spin off idea. There is SO MUCH to explore there. Like rick destroying carol's self confidence in one fell swoop by banishing her from the prison bc he fears her being around while JUDITH is there (even though everything she did and does was to protect her and the other children and people she loved). The fact that Judith was present for Lizzie and Mika and the main reason they actually had to act on it the way they did. Just obviously the fact that Carol and Beth were the two who nurtured Judith the most as a baby. The fact that Carol knew and was friends with Lori and bonded with her over their children and while she was pregnant. The fact that Carol knew Carl, and that Sophia was friends with Carl, and that Sophia's death had a major impact on Carl. The shared trauma of lost children that Michonne and Carol share and thus she can help Judith understand her mum better. I could go on.

And they could take Dog with them. Like Daryl clearly doesn't care about him anymore, but he'd be a cute sort of proxy for Daryl and a reminder of home while they're spin-offing together.

Nah, I'm not done with this idea.

Thank you for the lovely reception on Tiny Tim (A The Rockford Portfolio Christmas Special)! Your love for these two babies makes my heart grow three sizes 🥹 For them, I've written a Christmas carol companion for this fic sung to the tune of "Baby, It's Cold Outside"

Like others, in recent years, I've come to not love the original lyrics of the song quite as much (I've included both an original and updated version at the bottom of the post) but recently learned that the song was written by the songwriters to play as a signal for when they wanted guests to leave; that kind of passive aggressiveness nonsense I do kind of love 😂🤭.

In that spirit, consider the below to be sung when Timmy and Shutterbug are trying to leave the precinct holiday party and the other cops try to convince them to stay. The lines can be sung as: Pink - Shutterbug, Black - Detective Rockford, Blue - Tim's coworkers, Purple - Shutterbug & Timmy together

A former foster youth and award-winning advocate for children was arrested at the U.S. Capitol tonight — a bizarre twist in an otherwise celebratory day of events — after South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace accused him of assault.   The incident took place outside a House of Representatives office building following an event honoring the anniversary of a landmark child welfare law where Mace, a firebrand Republican, had given a speech. Three witnesses at the scene told The Imprint their accused colleague James McIntyre had done nothing more than shake the congress member’s hand at the House reception, and asked her to protect the rights of transgender people. 

But in a post on the social media platform X, Rep. Mace described a violent confrontation.  “I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine,” she posted at 8:43 p.m. “The Capitol police arrested the guy. Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down.” The arrest stunned onlookers. A group of McIntyre’s fellow foster youth advocates rushed to the outside of the Rayburn House Office Building to watch the scene unfold. They stood by tearfully as he was searched for several minutes by police, asking officers where he’d be taken and calling frantically for an attorney who could represent him. 

McIntyre, 33, has spoken publicly about his excruciating experience growing up in foster care, and is now a leading voice in policymaking in his home state of Illinois. He is also a chapter co-founder of the influential group Foster Care Alumni of America. In 2019, the National Association of Social Workers’ Illinois chapter named him the “Public Citizen of the Year.”   An officer with the Capitol Police Department told a reporter present at the scene that they were responding to a call about an “assault.” McIntyre was then placed into a police van and driven off.  Other attendees have reacted with outrage since McIntyre’s arrest. “I want to express deep disappointment in the fact that Congresswoman Nancy Mace came to a national foster youth event, told participating youth that it was a safe space — and literally had one of them arrested by Capital police for simply shaking her hand and asking about trans rights,” said Lisa Dickson, a veteran advocate for foster youth from Ohio, in a Facebook post.   Mace is not new to such publicity. In recent weeks, she has been in the news for her successful campaign to bar newly elected Rep. Sarah McBride — a Democrat from Delaware who is transgender — from using the public women’s bathrooms in the U.S. Capitol.

[...] In her remarks at the House event, Rep. Mace told the crowd that while she was not an adoptee or former foster youth, she had been a victim of sexual abuse as a child. She called the dozens of advocates and foster youth in attendance — McIntyre among them — “the cream of the crop.”  “I look forward to working with each and every one of you. God bless you, I will be praying for you,” Mace said.  As she finished her comments and moved to leave the room, McIntyre approached her near an exit door, witnesses said. Elliott Hinkle, a former foster youth and advocate for LGBTQ rights, said McIntyre shook her hand, and made a comment about how many transgender youth are in foster care, adding: “They need your support.” 

Queen TERF Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) fraudulently called the police on foster youth advocate James McIntyre for “assaulting” her all because he shook her hand and asked her to protect the rights of trans people. McIntyre was arrested all due to Mace’s heavy-handed twatty behavior.
