Episode 2 thoughts!
Hello all! I’m back with my thoughts from this week’s episode.
I’m still very confused by the concept of Edge of Extinction. I feel like Reem needs a little more structure; dropping her there for who knows when is torturous. I think she’ll cave — I hope she doesn’t — but I think she will. I don’t think Keith will choose to go there, I think he’s done and exhausted.
I don’t appreciate how the new players are targeting Kelley and Aubry, but not Joe or David. David is a strategic threat as well, and could take people down as easily as Kelley. Joe is “Joey Amazing”, and I’m afraid his tribemates are falling for the magic, and playing afraid Aubry as a result.
The open idol hunts were a spectacle. It’s wild to me how Survivor has evolved in this way; people used to be so secretive about searching for the hidden immunity idols, and just wanted to come off as calm and collected. However, in this day in age, everyone knows that everyone is gonna look, so might as well look together!
Lauren is excelling in this game. She’s such an adorable little superfan, and I love that Kelley was her idol and is now aligned with her. Also: BONUS POINTS for finding the idol and NOT feeling the need to go tell Kelley! So smart. She knows what she’s doing.
I thought Keith was the right vote. He was visibly weak in the challenge, and if they valued potentially winning, that was what they needed to do. He wasn’t going to learn how to swim in 39 days. Better not to try and deal with it. I would, however, like to see a Wendy/Kelley alliance. It’s incredibly unlikely, but they would KILL the game.

Every school has an obligatory psychotic jackass. He’s ours.
It has been one year since The Incident. In celebration of this beautiful, snarky, dynamic, passionate, beloved, smug, asshole, essential, etc., etc., character I have complied a lengthy (but by no means exhaustive) collection of some of my personal favorite fics focusing on Logan, or on his relationships, or fics that i just think do something neat in terms of Logan/his journey/his character. ❤️
Previously on vmficrecs:
dark_roast, “Fish Out of Water,” Mature, Post Season 1 AU
Logan opts to leave Neptune, and spend summer vacation with his grandparents.
Notes: This AU is essential reading if you love Logan. His characterization is nearly perfect, and the premise of the fic is endlessly engaging and smart.
wily_one24, “Sleep, Perchance...,” Mature, Pre-series AU
Logan thaws towards Veronica and sets out to save her.
Notes: I want to eat this fic. If you’ve never read it, read it-- it will linger endlessly inside of your brain in the best way possible. So many of the things Logan does or says in this fic exist in a very tangible and palpable manner for me, it’s that good. I think about it constantly.
ghostcat, “What We Have in Common,” Teen, Post Season 3 AU
Weevil Navarro, his incredibly poor choice of a research paper prepping locale and the close talking, finger waving jackass that interrupts and effectively hijacks his night. Set in 2010, three years after The Bitch is Back.
ghostcat, “A Trace of Meaning,” Teen, Pre-series
13 year-old Logan Echolls and 14 year-old Veronica Mars wait at the Kane Estate for their held-up sleepover hosts to show up.
theohara, “Rich Dirt,” Mature, Pre-series AU
And Logan wouldn’t let you have anything. He’d danced over to you and smirked in your face and twirled your plastic cup right out of your hand and cooed that just because your Daddy wasn’t sheriff anymore didn’t give you license to break the law, and he’d acted all shocked with his hand over his mouth and he’d laughed like breaking glass and nanced off with your drink.
anjou, “Into the Blue,” Mature, Post Season 1
It’s almost summer, and Logan is sinking into the blue.
flyingcarpet, “Mexicali Blues,” Mature, Post Season 3 AU
When he reaches the water he doesn’t hesitate, just keeps walking until he can duck his head under and start to swim away from shore, letting the salt and the waves wash away the residue that Neptune’s left on his skin.
absolutelyiris, “Truth for a Dream,” Teen, Future Fic (Pre-movie)
Fleet Week 2012. A reformed bad boy turned sailor and a former party girl turned career woman meet in a bar…
Notes: A LOGAN AND PARKER FRIENDSHIP FIC!!! pure fucking delight
absolutelyiris, “Come Around,” Mature, Future AU
A woman travels the world over in search of what she needs and returns home to find it.
Notes: I will talk about this fic until the day that I day, and then I will still talk about it. One of my absolute favorites. Pure gold Logan/Keith dynamic. I would 10/10 die for Razia. and, of course, the l/v is so damn good
TheLastGoodGolfish, “The Phenomenal Pixie, #1,” Teen, AU
Veronica is a masked avenger who stalks the streets of Neptune. Logan is the intrepid reporter who’s on the story.
Notes: PERFECT. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT. also-- “That’s ridiculous. My favorite person is a sorority girl.” in my head, rent free, and i am forever indebted.
bryrosea, “Waste of Breath / A Quartz Contentment,” Mature, Post Season 2 to TDTL
Part one: Logan Echolls, the nine years, and the Navy. Part two: Veronica Mars, the nine years, and a new normal.
Notes: I am recommending specifically “Waste of Breath” for my boy, although Veronica’s piece is excellent as well.
always_winter, “Written Out,” Teen, Season 2 AU
Duncan has some residual guilt and Logan wants to be left out of the story.
always_winter, “White Combs and Sweet Honey,” Mature, Season 1
Even when Aaron is trying to be a good father, there’s still a lot he’s doing wrong.
Notes: This fic is so tender to me!!! A beautiful Logan and Aaron piece.
sadiekate, “Grand Canyon,” PG-13, Season 1 to Future AU
Three friends reminisce several years in the future, snarkily and pointlessly.
sinaddict, “Necrosis,” Explicit, Season 2 AU
Death in bits and pieces, denial as a religion… Or ‘normal’ in Neptune.
sowell, “Surviving the Wreck,” Explicit, Season 3 AU
Nothing’s ever simple with Veronica Mars. Weevil’s day at sea gets a little complicated.
Notes: THIS FUCKING FIC!!!! i love everything about it and especially at this moment in time, the part where logan gives weevil a blow job but weevil notes that somehow, in spite of this, logan retains the upper hand. this fic is world class and i am grateful everyday for it
theohara, “Broken Toys,” NC-17, Pre series AU
One glance across a street saves Lilly Kane’s life. It changes everything; it changes nothing.
Notes: This is the most heartbreaking Veronica Mars’ fanfic ever. I have such a deep love for it. It takes Lilly’s character and Logan/Veronica’s relationship to places I don’t ever think they would go and yet it works in this and it works so damn well. a truly devastating and beautiful au
fluffernutter8, “The Ninety Nine Percent,” Teen, Post Season 3 AU
Junior year of college, Logan gets some news that proves that no matter how hard he tries, life is just going to keep throwing him curve-balls. Post season 3, non movie canon compliant.
youcallitwinter, “gravity is gonna keep you tied down to this city,” Teen, Post Season 3 to TDTL
[your life in extended parenthesis] the lone neon nights and the ache of the ocean, and the fire that was starting to spark. From the love to the lightning and the lack of it.
Notes: please don't fall out of love with me, okay? don’t you dare give up on me. I DIE EVERY FUCKING TIME youcallitwinter is a force with all of her writings, but this one.......my god every single bit about it is fucking flawless
petpluto, “Of Scars & Consequences,” Teen, Post-series AU
Almost a decade in the future, Logan's still a little messed up. And Veronica's still a little closed off. They make it work.
julietbravo, “one brutal thing after another,” Teen, Pre-series to Season 1
These rich boys think they can get away with anything, don’t they.
querulousgawks, “there should be stars for great wars like ours,” Teen, AU
It’s gotta be some Alliance mind game, a holdover, the Operative’s last trick: Logan’s old secrets manifesting everywhere around them. Where are you, how are you doing this, he wants to scream, but he doesn’t know which ghost he’d be railing at.
SilverLining2k6, “Sometimes (You Can’t Make It On Your Own),” Teen, Season 1 AU
Silly Duncan stopped taking his meds. Now, one dead Fitzpatrick later, Logan and Veronica need to get him out of town. Too bad they hate each other.
SilverLining2k6, “Control,” Teen, Pre-series AU
Don’t you mess with a little girl’s dreams. ‘Cause she’s liable to grow up mean. Pre-series. Oneshot. - A twisted little tale of hate and revenge.
Notes: CONTROL!!!!! I love Control so much, it’s one of the first fics I ever read for the fandom and one of the finest. The Logan that exists in this is sooo good and his relationship with Veronica is deeply flawed & wonderful. M is in the process of writing a remix to Control (more in-depth emotion) and I for one am foaming at the fucking mouth every day about it.
nevertothethird, “Reunions,” Teen, Post Series AU
Sometimes it just takes a little longer to get things right. Two high school reunions and a birthday party should do the trick.
youcallitwinter, “you give love a bad name,” Teen, Season 2 AU
“Hey, did you guys know there was a sensitive poet-type hiding behind this hard exoskeleton of expensive alcohol and bitter cynicism?” In which Logan Echolls is, well, Logan Echolls.
scandalpants, “Something to Remember,” Mature, Post Series AU
Facing a separation, Logan and Veronica spend their last night together exchanging gifts.
Notes: I am always in a goddamn state about this fic. Logan jacking off in front of Veronica at her request? Yes, thank you please. thank you so much
leurocrystal, “Take Your Time,” Teen, Post Season 2
Keith doesn’t know how to look at or touch his daughter for the first time in his life.
petpluto, “We Are Nowhere, And It’s Now,” Mature, Series AU
“You know there is another way of looking at this, Logan. If you’d still been together, you might be dead too." Logan and Lilly both die on October 3rd. But for Veronica, it’s not like they’re gone. And she still works to solve their murders.
absolutelyiris, “Delay,” Teen, Post TTDL
Logan reflects on his first Christmas with Veronica after a ten year separation, as well as how his life has changed with her absence.
New to vmficrecs:
Christmas in Arkham Author: dark_roast Pairing: Logan Rating: Teen Genre: Hurt/Comfort, A Really Good Hug Setting: Season 2 Spoilers: 2.09, “My Mother, the Fiend” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 10128 Status: Complete Summary: Sequel to Fish Out of Water. Logan spends christmas with his grandparents. Notes: This is, full stop, my favorite Veronica Mars fanfiction ever. I am so protective of this fic that part of me doesn’t even want to give it a formal place on the blog, which is ridiculous because I’m sure plenty of people have already read it and obviously it’s so good that I want people to read it but....this belongs to me, somehow, like I feel like it’s mine that’s how much I love it. ANYWAY possessiveness aside-- Every word, every sentence, every punctuation mark in this fic is perfect, devastating insight into Logan’s character. Absolutely beautiful and wonderful and every other good thing.
The Teeth by the Shoulder Author: ghostcat Pairing: Fab Four, Logan/Lilly, Veronica/Duncan Rating: Teen Genre: Friendship, Angst Setting: Pre-series Spoilers: 1.01, “Pilot” Chapters: 3 Word Count: 17273 Status: Complete Summary: Two couples, two friendships. The Fab Four in three Octobers. Notes: WE’VE NEVER FUCKING RECOMMENDED THE TEETH BY THE SHOULDER BEFORE?????? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE OH MY GOD jesus this is one of the greatest fanfictions ever written. three pre-series explorations into the fab four friendship and it is impossibly good. i am especially in love with the logan/lilly in this fic (the first chapter!!!!) and as always special care is given to exploring the logan + veronica dynamic. the third chapter will break your fucking heart so bad in the best way
Seven Times Logan Echolls Went to Jail Author: sowell Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Veronica/Piz Rating: Teen Genre: Angst, Romance, Logan Echolls is a Little Shit Setting: (Post) Season 3 AU Spoilers: 3.12, “There’s Got to Be a Morning After Pill” and 3.16, “Un-American Graffiti” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 6701 Status: Complete Summary: Who thinks Logan behind bars is sexy? I do, I do! // Logan goes to jail and calls Veronica to bail him out. Again and again and again and again. Notes: WE HAVEN’T DONE THIS BEFORE EITHER???? oh my god!! I remember finding this one a few months before the movie came out and i would just lay in bed in the dark and re-read it endlessly. and then i left it alone for a few years and when i went back to it holy shit it undid me all over again. perfect logan and veronica relationship. p e r f e c t!!! i firmly believe this is exactly what shape their relationship would’ve taken if veronica hadn’t cut and run
Love is Just a Four-letter Word Author: bigboobedcanuck Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Keith, Weevil Genre: Angst, Hurt/Comfort Setting: Future AU Spoilers: 1.12, “Clash of the Tritons” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 1753 Status: Complete Summary: Set a few years down the road from high school. Logan hits rock bottom. Keith and Veronica help him back up. Notes: Lynn’s body turns up and it is fucking DEVASTATING. A short piece that’s told from Keith’s POV (anyone who knows me knows how much of a sucker I am for Keith + Logan interaction) and holy hell Logan is so good in it and I think about it all the fucking time
Serendipity Author: TheLastGoodGoldfish Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Veronica/Piz, Carrie, Gia, Stu Cobbler, Ensemble Genre: Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Detective-ing Setting: Post Season 3 Spoilers: 3.20, “The Bitch is Back” and The Movie Chapters: 4 (out of a planned 6, fingers crossed!!!) Word Count: 59763 Status: Complete Summary: During her sophomore year at Hearst, Veronica takes on your run-of-the-mill blackmail case: the clients hate her, the evidence is impossible to destroy, and her ex turns out to be a bit of a distraction, but Veronica is a sucker for a damsel-in-distress. Even if the damsel is an intoxicated, pissed off Carrie Bishop. Notes: I AM HIGH PITCHED SCREAMING. Transplanting the movie plot to this timeframe works tremendously and TLGG’s execution is fucking perfect. Carrie is a powerhouse in this fic and god, Logan is such a honey it in which is why it is being recc’d for him. Him practically letting Carrie move in with him and doing his damnedest to protect Carrie and Gia (much to Veronica’s chagrin) is so, so important to me and I love him so much.
The Phenomenal Pixie - Interlude #1 - “Bugs” Author: TheLastGoodGoldfish Pairing: Logan/Veronica, OC’s Genre: Humor, Fluff, Logan and Veronica Are Smarter Than You Setting: AU (Season 3) Spoilers: uhhh n/a Chapters: 1 Word Count: 5072 Status: Complete Summary: Dating a superhero poses a unique set of challenges. Notes: Tiny sequel to The Phenomenal Pixie which you absolutely must read first (and is recommended above) because it’s a fucking delight. Logan is incredible in this fic and I would die for him, like always. The part where Steve can sense Logan is thinking about punching him in the face-- a million chefs kisses.
The Medusa Jewel Author: TheLastGoodGoldfish Pairing: Logan/Veronica Genre: Established Relationship Bliss, Fluff Setting: MKAT Spoilers: MKAT Chapters: 1 Word Count: 5336 Status: Complete Summary: Logan and Veronica's new neighbor is a writer. Notes: is my TLGG obsession shining through? good because it fucking should be. The Logan/Veronica in this relationship is so sweet and perfect and is 100% my reality and i would like to bathe in this fic and live in it forever as is my right.
Drowning Together Author: bryrosea Pairing: Logan/Veronica Genre: Romance, Hurt/Comfort Setting: Season 3 Spoilers: 3.07, “Of Vice and Men” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 897 Status: Complete Summary: AU of the confrontation scene from 3x07: Of Vice and Men (Logan and Veronica both need a hug) Notes: Absolute wonderful insight and even some reconciliation into a canonical season three fight. Logan calming down while Veronica falls apart as they hug is so important to me.
Interrupt Us Author: bryrosea Pairing: Logan/Veronica Genre: Romance, Hijinks, They Want To Fuck So Bad Setting: Post TDTL Spoilers: through TDTL Chapters: 1 Word Count: 17223 Status: Complete Summary: Logan Echolls is home from deployment. Time to cue the sweeping movie montage, right? Notes: Logan and Veronica try to have sex everywhere and it is my life force. The car scene when they get pulled over and Logan instinctively hiding under Veronica’s desk....god i love everyone in this bar
Ready to Go Author: Amberina Pairing: Logan/Duncan; Veronica Genre: Friendship, Romance, Angst Setting: Post Season 1 Spoilers: not obvious but 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 6346 Status: Complete Summary: "Let's leave. Let's go. What's left in Neptune for us anyway?" (AKA Duncan, Logan and Veronica have wacky adventures on the road! Also angst.) Notes: Logan getting hissy and storming off from the car while Duncan and Veronica just watch him and then calling a taxi once he’s out of their sight is PEAK logan. I love boyfriends, even if they’re angst-ing in this, and they big time are.
Nashville On My Mind Author: hjcallipygian Pairing: Logan, Veronica, Duncan Genre: Friendship, Hijinks Setting: Post Season 1 AU Spoilers: 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 1659 Status: Complete Summary: Every year, they take a road trip together. This year, it's to Nashville, Tennessee. Notes: i just spent forty minutes trying to find this fic to the point where i was genuinely concerned i had hallucinated it. it’s so fucking good. a sequel/prequel of sorts to grand canyon by sadiekate (recc’d in the previously section). logan is a mess and by god do i love him
Six Times Logan Echolls Got Wet Author: bryrosea, CarolineShea, ghostcat, kmd0107, marshmallowtasha, SilverLining2k6 Pairing: Logan/Veronica Rating: Teen Genre: Romance, Friendship, Hijinks Setting: Everywhere Spoilers: All series to MKAT Chapters: 6 Word Count: 11568 Status: Complete Summary: aka: The Wet Henley ChroniclesSix stories in which we probably give Logan Echolls pneumonia, inspired by the movie's infamous wet henley. Set variously across the series and post-MKAT. Notes: each chapter is written by a different author, they’re all good but bryrosea’s chapter and silvery’s chapter are my favorites. set during the summer between season 1 & 2 and post season three respectively they do such a great job dealing with the fractious and tumultuous nature of Logan/Veronica’s relationship at the time and i love it so much
A Little Dysfunctionality Goes A Long Way Author: fluffernutter8 Pairing: Logan/Veronica Rating: Teen Genre: ANGST with a side of fucking ANGST, happy ending but jesus Setting: Post Season 3 AU Spoilers: 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 2878 Status: Complete Summary: Despite their history, Logan and Veronica might be somewhere on the brink of normal. A few years post season 3. Notes: i just read this for the first time 07/13/20 at 9:08pm because when i asked shelby for her favorite logan fics she included this one. i am fucking dead now and-- there’s nothing else to say about it. i’m just fucking dead. for YEARS i have said that nobody with the username fluffernutter8 should be able to write shit this goddamn emotional and yet, time and time again, i find myself here fuckign wrecked and furious about it
these are just ghosts that broke my heart before i met you Author: theviolonist Pairing: Logan, Veronica, Carrie, Dick Rating: Teen Genre: Introspection, Angst, I Love Logan Setting: Pre Movie & Movie Spoilers: Movie Chapters: 1 Word Count: 1326 Status: Complete Summary: In the army they say, don't think of the target as a person, otherwise you won't have the guts to pull the trigger. Notes: fuck, you guys. this one is so beautiful. an exploration into logan’s grief and him trying to move on and it cuts like a damn knife because he can never really do it but fuck he wants to so bad and [lucas scott voice] that’s gotta mean something, right? truly so so wonderful
Fugue Author: vaeran Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Logan/Lilly, Dick Rating: Teen Genre: Angst, hopeful ending Setting: Post Season 1 Spoilers: 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 4137 Status: Complete Summary: It's something he refuses to let go because it defines who he is and what he has become. Notes: deviates from the PCHer confrontation on the bridge, which means logan takes a little longer to come around to reconciliation with veronica. it’s perfect and i particularly love the logan/lilly in this, he’s hurt but still so impossibly and eternally in love with her
One Flew Over the Echolls Nest Author: Wynn Pairing: Logan/Veronica, Duncan Rating: Teen Genre: Angst, Friendship Setting: Post Season 1 AU Spoilers: 1.22, “Leave it to Beaver” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 1507 Status: Complete Summary: Open wide and see what's inside. A bridge and a bed and Veronica. Logan finds himself in a mental institution after the events of "Leave it to Beaver." Veronica, Duncan, and Logan's psychiatrist attempt to help. Notes: so sad and so good!!! the part where Logan’s psychiatrist asks him when the last time he was happy was fucking wrecks me everytime!!
Free at last Author: querulousgawks Pairing: Logan, Weevil, Aaron Rating: Teen Genre: Frenemies, They Are Boyfriends Setting: Season 2 Spoilers: 2.09, “My Mother, the Fiend” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 1242 Status: Complete Summary: Logan and Weevil and fire go a long way back. A flashback scene interrupts their Season 2 meeting in the Neptune Grand. Notes: I LOVE EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS SO GOD DAMN MUCH
The Right Shade of Red Author: ghostcat Pairing: Trina, Logan, Aaron Rating: Teen Genre: ANGST Setting: Pre-series Spoilers: 1.15, “Ruskie Business” Chapters: 1 Word Count: 883 Status: Complete Summary: Trina finds her jerky little brother hiding in her closet and does the unexpected thing. (Or, A time Logan trusted Trina) Notes: If you want 883 words to be able to make you feel like you’ve been hit by a truck this is the fic for you! Serial Killer Potential! According To Your Zodiac
The stars are not always 100% accurate in predicting our personalities. However, they can provide some pretty interesting and important insights to some aspects of our behaviours. We all can admit to having a dark side to us. Think about it! Even the bubbliest of individuals do tend to lean more on the morbid side of life at times. There seems to be something within us that finds comfort in morbidity. The question however remains, is the solace derived from the dark side of life enough to drive us into a murderous rage? Well, let’s see what the stars say shall we?
Aries (March 21 - April 19):
Aries are known for going for what they want no matter what. Is death a barrier they can simply overlook as a means to an end? Well, it turn out that it is for some. Serial killers such as Joseph Franklin, Donald Harvey, Paul Knowles, Keith Jespersen, Charles Sobhraj and Herbert Mullin are some of the headliners in the Aries serial killer hall of fame. Combined, their actions have been known to claim the lives of anywhere between thirty and slightly shy of sixty individuals. Aries clearly are a blood lusty lot but are they lustier than the rest of the zodiacs?
Taurus (April 20 - May 20):
Taurus seem to be giving the rest of the Zodiacs a run for their money as far as serial killer victims are concerned. While the number of notable killers may be on the lower end of the spectrum, the victims aren’t. Starting from the pioneer of the blood thirsty art of serial killing Mr. H. H. Holmes, fondly known as the Torture Doctor who has a record two hundred bodies under his belt to Martha Becks who has under twenty victims, Taurus serial killers have for sure carved their names into the walls of history. This zodiac also has a number of female contenders that are worth mentioning. We already talked about Martha Becks right? Well we can’t forget her sister in blood thirst, Amy Archer Gilligan. Other notable names worth dropping under this zodiac include The Moon Maniac (Albert Fish) and The Gorilla Killer (Earle Nelson).
Gemini (May 21 - June 20):
Do not be fooled by the bubbly, every cheerful nature of Geminis. This happy adventurous bunch seem to have a liking for spilling blood. Notable serial killing Geminis make up about twelve name sin the killer hall of fame. A good number of these individuals have an interesting story to them. They were often found to have certain mental health challenges and were seemingly masters of double lives. Combined, their known victims account for a minimum of one hundred and twenty four souls.
Since we have established a culture of notable name dropping let us continue shall we. For Geminis, we have The Son Of Sam, Jeffery Dahmer, Kenneth Bianchi, The Hill side Strangler, Milwaukee Strangler, Richard Chase, The Vampire of Dusseldorf, John Collins, Author Shawcross, Leonard Lake, Wayne Williams, Danny Rolling, Peter Sutcliffe, and Robert Lee Yates.
Cancer (June 21 - July 22):
Do not be fooled by their calm exterior. Cancers can be a rather ruthless bunch if pushed to a corner. While they have a few mentionable names, only four are worth mentioning. Genene Jones, John Reginald, Carl Panzram and Gary Heidnik combined have a minimum of ninety two victims whose murders can be directly linked to them. The blood lust of Cancers can be attributed to their ability to love with every fibre of their being as well as their moody tendencies. So better not cross a Cancer on a particularly moody day.
Leo (July 23 - August 22):
Leos are perhaps the least likely to be serial killers out of all the zodiacs. These gentle souls care more about enjoying life and all the mysterious and beautiful things it has to offer than getting irked by the little upsetting things that life throws at them. This, however, doesn’t mean that they are devoid of any mentionable names. Myra Hindley, Anthony Sowell and John Haigh together are responsible for the murders of at least twenty five victims.
Virgo (August 23 - September 22):
When it comes to blood thirsty traits, Virgo are serious contenders. If we are name dropping, then allow us to mention just but a few. To start us off, we have Henry Lee Lucas who is responsible for more than one hundred and fifty seven victims. Others in this list include Rodney Alcala, Paul Bernardo, Richard Angelo, Albert DeSalvo, Richard Biegenwald, Harrison Graham, Ed Gein, Marybeth Tinning and Gerald Stano. The ten combined have claimed the lives of at least three hundred and ninety seven people. Not only are these Virgo headliners known for their numbers, they are also known for their grim methods.
Libra (September 23 - October 22):
Libras have some of the most eclectic personalities in the zodiac yet have one of the least notable names in the serial killer hall of fame. Not to take away from their ‘glory’ but for the extremes that appear within this zodiac, four is an impressively low number. Patrick Kearney also referred to as The Freeway Killer is the star of this zodiac with a body count of up to forty three unfortunate souls. Fellow blood thirsty souls include Angelo Buono Jr., Bobby Joe Long and Gerald Gallego. Together, all four have a body count of at least seventy five people.
Scorpio (October 23 - November 21):
Scorpios are a unique bunch. This is the first zodiac to have a bloody duo; Alton Coleman and Debra brown. Another one of your mentionable killers is Carl Eugene. Other blood thirsty members of this camp include Charles Manson, Belle Gunness, Nannie Doss and William Heirens. These notable mentions are responsible for the loss of at least one hundred and sixty nine lives.
Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21):
For a people whose zodiac sign is half beast and half man, the likelihood of serial killer tendencies is high. While this zodiac has not attracted a large crowd of killers, it does have some of the more famous ones. Ted Bundy for example is a member of this cosmic family. He is not only renowned for his killing sprees but his successes at escaping the arm of the law even after it had caught up with him severally. Other notable mentions include Richard Cottingham, Edmund Kemper, Carlton Gray, and Denis Neilsen. Together, this murderous bunch have claimed the lives of at least seventy four people.
Sagittarius are known for their great conversational skills as well as their wits. It is no wonder that some would speculate that the number of serial killers under this zodiac that are yet to be discovered could be shockingly high.
Capricorn (December 22 - January 19):
It is natural for Capricorns to distance themselves from people. They do not trust easily and it takes a lot to get into their inner circle. Their natural distrust can tend to make them rather cold individuals. It is no wonder that the total body count of Capricon serial killer victims rises to as high as one hundred and nineteen. Our notable mentions under this zodiac include Dean Corll, Joe Ball, Ian Brady, Charles Ng, William Bonin, and Vincent Johnson.
Aquarius (January 20 - February 18):
Aquarius are another happy zodiac that does not seem to be blood thirsty. There are only four notable mentions under this zodiac with a combined body count of forty nine victims.
Pisces (February 19 - March 20):
Pisces are known to have two extremes. They can either be super relaxed individuals or super intense. It’s probably the latter that has seen them accrue at least twelve serial killers with a body count of at least two hundred and seventy nine victims.

To all my fellow LoVe shippers who are feeling down I have one thing to say.
I can’t make the last 8 minute of season 4 disappear but I can recommend some really great LoVe fanfiction that will make you feel at least a little bit better. So without further ado here are a few of my favorite LoVe fics!
A Hard Habit to Break by mskatej Nothing gets Veronica over her failed relationships better than Logan Echolls.
...And Long For You by AbsolutelyIris It was moments like those Veronica wished she could be like Lilly- storm into his house and curse and yell and damn him to hell before demanding he fuck her...and like with Lilly, he would gladly, if reluctantly, do so.
“Any Love Is Good Love, Baby” by wily_one24 Apparently, Hollywood was wrong, the devil did not wear Prada, the devil wore butch black boots and tiny little skirts.
The Best (and Only) Kept Secret in Neptune by vixleonard Even when they hated each other, Logan and Veronica just couldn't stay away from each other.
The Burdened Vessel by vixleonard Veronica needs a favor only Logan can help her with.
Every Belt That Ever Hit Someone (Is Still Made to Hold Something Up) by igrockspock Logan doesn't get any votes for Most Changed at the ten-year reunion, which is bullshit when you think about it. In the past ten years, everything in his life has changed. He's joined the Navy, dated a pop star, and figured out that Dick Casablancas can occasionally behave like a real human being. Only one thing hasn't changed: he's still in love with Veronica Mars. Oh, and he's suspected of murdering his girlfriend.
"Fear and Loathing in Neptune" by wily_one24 Veronica Mars was going to get herself laid. Series Part 1 of Any Love
A Fine and Endless Cycle by kartography A freshman year at Hearst and the cyclical nature of love
Fireworks by AliLamba Veronica is technically not a virgin, and awkward results ensue. An AU version of LoVe's first time.
For the Sake of a Friend by jacedesbff What if Logan and Veronica were involved in a secret relationship throughout the events of Season 1?
The Game of Trust by Kantayra of Yore (Kantayra) This time Veronica really did trust him, and she knew how to prove it...
Getcha, Getcha, Getcha, Getcha by Kantayra of Yore (Kantayra) Veronica and Logan prank each other. Really, it's shameless the way they flirt...
Give Me The Ocean by scandalpants Post Season 3 AU. Veronica decides what she really wants. Spoiler: it's not Piz.
Home Is Where The Heart Is by: lv63 AU preseries and forward, begins in season 1. this story is all about veronica and her friends. angst, mystery, humor and romance, LoVe and MaDi. summary in prologue.
I Hate You Because by: SilverLining2k6 Mid 1X3 - Meet John Smith. Logan, Veronica, a pool, snark, and a made up drinking game.
i knew you were trouble when you walked in by youcallitwinter And, it's just— Logan had always been her intense high-school romance, sure. But she had, somewhere along the way, in some secret corner of her mind, convinced herself that was all he was; a high-school romance. Explosive, powerful, passionate, and bound to burn itself out eventually
(Im)Perfection by AbsolutelyIris The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.
In a World by: my shangri-la A/U! Exploring the 'what ifs' that could have happened if Lilly Kane hadn't been murdered, and her secrets – and others – had come out anyway. Pairings: Lilly/Logan, past Duncan/Veronica, eventual Logan/Veronica. (Story begins with Lilly as a senior, the rest are juniors.)
In the kind of world where we belong by Anonymous There was always something missing. A Lilly Kane sized hole in both their hearts. Instead of going to see Aaron Echolls on October 3rd Lilly decides to comfort a friend and their lives change forever.A very smutty OT3 take on what might have happened if Lilly had lived.
Kid Things by sowell 5 years after graduation, Logan comes back to Neptune to ask Veronica for help.
King of Mars by: HGRising AU. In which everyone has a story to tell but not everyone gets the chance. And, things make more sense from a different perspective. Ever wonder why Veronica Mars was Lilly Kane's best friend? There's redemption for some and condemnation for others when the secrets come out. And everyone's got a good one.
Landmine by AbsolutelyIris It needed to be forgotten, and quick.
The Long Way Home by AbsolutelyIris "We should take the long way home."
Matching Pink Bikinis by Anonymous Veronica and Lilly wear matching pink bikinis to Logan's for a pool day. This is pure threesome smut, folks.
Pink Lemonade (Logan/Veronica/Lilly) On a trip to Honolulu, Lilly manages to bring Veronica out of her pink, frosty shell. Spoilers/Warnings: This is a threesome fic and therefore includes some femslash.
Playing Hide and Seek With the Truth by: jenwin23 Continuation of the Truth series. The kids go back to school. Old issues remain while more secrets will be revealed, relationships will change and lives will crumble.
The Real Thing by: Josielynn AU. Logan and Lilly are off again/on again. Duncan is dating Meg. Veronica was never friends with Lilly. Logan sees Veronica in her soccer uniform and wants to date her.
Scotch on the Rocks (A FanFic Tribute) by kmd0107 A long time ago...there was an incredibly hot LoVeLy trilogy fic (Pink Lemonade & Sex on the Beach) started over on Live Journal that never got its third part. This is a tribute to what that might have been. Logan POV of the evolving sexual and emotional relationship between himself, Veronica, and Lilly.
Scourging Fire, Blazing Soul by Nerdyesque What if Veronica didn't grow up with the 09ers, but came into their lives prior to Lilly's death? How would her presence affect Duncan, Lilly, Logan, the Kanes, and the Echolls? Also, who is Veronica without Keith Mars' loving protection?
Sex on the Beach (Logan/Veronica/Lilly) NC-17 Lilly's chapter in my Drinks Series. Nobody wants to talk about what happened in Hawaii, and it's driving Lilly crazy. How could she possibly make what happened less awkward? By making it happen again, of course!
Some Truths Hurt by: jenwin23 Jumping off point: V gets Duncan's journal in Echolls' Family Xmas. AU from there but many canon events happen too. All characters in the VM-verse make an appearance, but it is a LoVe story. In script format-but give it a try, it's well written.
The Third Kane by: Mac-alicious Lilly, Duncan and Veronica Kane rule the social scene in Neptune. The three are loyal and inseparable. They once believed there was nothing that could come between them. They didn't count on Logan Echolls.
Time, Make It Go Faster Or Just Rewind by kmd0107 Logan being ‘the real-Logan’ is so familiar that she almost can’t help but give in to it, even if it’s just a one night pass. She’ll embrace this moment out of time and the walls and armor can go back up tomorrow.AU from 1x4 Wrath of Con
Truths Too Big to be Told by: jenwin23 Sequel to Some Truths Hurt. It's summer time and more than the weather is hot. Neptune is embroiled in class warfare, Veronica is looking into the mystery of another dead girl, the fallout from Lilly's case continues, and more secrets will be revealed.
I’m also throwing in some of my favorite MaDi (Mac and Dick) fics because Dick needs a hug too.
The ABCs of Mac and Dick by: jenwin23 The ABC challenge with Mac and Dick. Created for Madi lover at VM Santa 2010 at livejournal. Cross-posted. In letter order, not in chronological order.
Bodycount by: BIFF1 Cassidy and Mac meet a little earlier and a little blood-lust gives him an entirely different problem when it comes to forming a real relationship with Mac. AU with MAJOR season two SPOILERS! Mac/Cass, Mac/Dick, Mac/Cass/Dick
Casablancas Kryptonite By: BIFF1 "You just don't get it. She's like kryptonite or something." Dick looked at his brother and thought about those blue eyes that cut and the way her mouth twisted around insults. Yeah maybe she was kyptonite. Casablancas kyptonite because isn't he just as weak.
Casual? By: BIFF1 It's just sex. Casual sex. no attachments, just good hot sex. But that was the summer and now school is about to start up again and Veronica's back from Virginia and can tell that something is up. They can stop, no problem...
The Charm Bracelet by: DalWriter Future Fic. Who Knew Prince Charming Would be Dick Casablancas? Mac reminisces as she looks at a charm bracelet Dick gave her.
Commitment Buffers by: BIFF1 Dick and Mac live with Logan and Veronica in their attempt to have some sort of commitment buffer between them. Only problem with the arrangement is that Mac and Dick tolerate each other at best which is a big improvement as far as their concerned. However living in such close quarters may prove difficult when it becomes obvious that they may actually sort of like each other.
Dark Day by: BIFF1 It's Cassidy Casablancas' birthday and the two people closest to him are falling apart. She just wants to hide away from the world for the rest of the week, just drink and cry and be with someone who gets it and no one gets it more than Dick. Not as angsty as it sounds, promise. Now complete with happy ending!
Electrify by: BIFF1 A guilt trip from Logan has landed Dick in a crowded tent with Mac. With a lightening storm raging outside he can't sleep and it appears neither can she.
Rendezvous by: BIFF1 A collection of one-shots. In which Dick and Mac are forced together by fate or friends and hook up. Because I apparently really like writing them hooking up.
Secret Santa By: BIFF1 Saw this homemade sweater from hell prompt from VMficRec. It's a November challenge but I couldn't help myself. Just some fun when Mac pulls Dick's name for Secret Santa. She figures a six pack and porn until he makes a big deal about not wanting anything handmade. She can't really help herself, she spends the month knitting Dick a sweater.

any book recs for the summer?
Response from Clover:
If you’re into sci-fi, you’ve most likely heard of Ender’s Game, but there’s another set of books set in the same universe starting with Ender’s Shadow. It’s the events of Ender’s Game told from the perspective of another character and is seriously awesome. Both really great books that I would highly reccomend, and it’s nice for the summer because if you end up liking them there are many more that come afterwards (like Shadow of the Hegemon, which is also 10/10).
Response from Opal:
Nothing curated, just some of my favorite books that I read in the past year or so: Fun Home (Alison Bechdel), Watchmen (Alan Moore), Autobiography of Red (Anne Carson), The Goldfinch (Donna Tartt), Dune (Frank Herbert), An Indigenous People’s History of the United States (Roxane Ortiz), Whereas (Layli Long Soldier), Crime and Punishment (Fyodor Dostoevsky), Orientalism (Edward Said), God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater (Kurt Vonnegut).
Response from Alito:
Here are some books that come to mind that I have previously read:
Friedrich von Hayek: The Road to Serfdom
Alexis de Tocqueville: Democracy in America
A. Huxley: Brave New World
Ayn Rand: Atlas Shrugged
Nassim Nicholas Taleb: The Black Swan
Cass Sunstein: Impeachment
Keith Whittington: Speak Freely (I’m serious…for ‘23, it was the ‘22 preread and I enthusiastically recommend it.)
Dr. Suess (even tho he’s a Dartmouth ‘25): Green Eggs and Ham
I’d also heavily recommend books by Milton Friedman, Thomas Sowell, Robert P. George, etc.!
Response from Winnie P:
10 of my favorite fiction (non-inclusive and list not ordered):
Italo Calvino’s Invisible CitiesWilla Cathers’ O Pioneers!TH White’s The Once and Future King (this is more for kids tho)Joseph Heller’s Catch 22Marguerite Yourcenar’s Memoirs of HadrianStendhal’s The Red and the BlackFedor Dostoevsky’s The IdiotAnatole France’s The Gods Will Have BloodBoris Vassilyev’s The Dawns Here are Quiet and Tomorrow Was the WarRacine’s AndromaqueErnst Junger’s Storm of SteelDino Buzzati’s The Tartar Steppe
10 of my favorite nonfiction (heavily tilted towards interests in Russia lol):
CS Lewis’s Mere ChristianityFelix Chuev’s Molotov Remembers: Inside Kremlin PoliticsEdward Luttwack’s Grand Strategy of the Roman EmpireStephen Kotkin’s Stalin series (2 books so far) and Uncivil Society: 1989 and the Implosion of the Communist EstablishmentDe Tocqueville’s Old Regime and the RevolutionWilliam Buckley’s God and Man at YaleAlexander Zinoviev’s Flight of Our Youth (idk if this exists in English tho)Peter Brown’s The Rise of Western ChristendomCarl Schmitt’s The Concept of the Political

Survivor 38 First Impressions: Manu Tribe
Hello! In the wake of Survivor 38, I’m so excited to blog the show each week and discuss the strategy, characters, and antics that happen. The show premieres in two weeks, which is perfect because that gives me two weeks to make predictions for each tribe! I made these predictions based off of the bios provided through CBS, along with Josh Wigler’s pre-season interviews with the cast on RHAP. Here are my first impressions of the Manu tribe!
Dan DaSilva:
Confident! He sounds exactly like Tony. I see Tony in his bio, and in his voice and mannerisms. Describes himself as the “Wardog”. In his bio, he separates himself from “The Specialist”, Tony, and Boston Rob, but doesn’t offer who he’s most like. However, I think he’s gonna pull a Tony, and maybe not as well. He’s in law school, so he’ll probably play a know-it-all card at some point. He’s already got his lies all planned out. He figures he’s going to be a threat, and is trying to dodge that. I think that he’s not very self aware, and is gonna get carried away in the scheming and paranoia of the game. He just banged on the desk; he’s definitely Italian. He’s from New York. I think he’s gonna be a big character, but I don’t think he’ll make it to the merge because everyone’s gonna detect his Tony-like tendencies. Prediction: Premerge.
Reem Daly:
I think she’s legit. Her bio was super concise and straight to the point. And she’s a clear fan; citing Stephanie LaGrossa and Rudy Boesch as the two people she’s most like is a boast to the fans. I’m afraid she could be a little cold, though, and rub people the wrong way. I hope she doesn’t try to take the role of the leader, because it would put her in a bad spot on the tribe. I think she has the potential to make it far, but under the radar. I can see her floating along rather than making big moves. Prediction: Merge
Rick Devens:
Fan! Watching since high school. News Anchor, which means personality. Describes himself as most like Cochran, but just based off of interviews, he’s already much more charismatic and outgoing. Probably a closer match to Spencer or Fishbach than Cochran. Mostly self aware; “Low expectations are my best friend”. Definitely has a lot of charisma and a sense of humor. Probably will get along with everyone super well. Could be problematic. Prediction: At least to the merge.
Wendy Diaz:
Self-proclaimed fan, really talkative. Described herself as “a bit delusional”, “I stay home and karaoke by myself”. She’s an oddball for sure. She’s going by “Big Wendy”, and will “fight to the death for that”. I hope that she doesn’t destroy her game by getting into passionate fights or burning bridges. I think island karaoke here is inevitable; people will probably get annoyed with that at some point. I think, though, she’s got a super fun loving personality, so if she’s with a group of people who will enjoy her spunkiness, she’ll be able to make it far enough. She said she’s excited to become apart of the Survivor fandom! Strategy: Fly under the radar until the merge. Prediction: Premerge
Lauren O’Connell:
JUST graduated college! Her bio is a novel. Definitely knows she’s fit; played D1 soccer through college. Describes herself as like Parvati or Kelley Wentworth. I think she’ll definitely be smart, she’s attending Georgetown University for grad school. I think she’ll be super friendly and easy to talk to, but I’m afraid she might pull the “cool kid” card and clique off with others like her. Lifelong fan; I think that she’ll be able to manage the paranoia that comes with that, though. She’ll definitely be competitive, and I think that she has the potential to pull a Parvati and win. However, her downfall could be coming off too shallow and getting voted off early. Prediction: Final 7
Keith Sowell:
A little CUTIE! Definitely seems nervous/timid, but super likeable. I think people will connect to him fast. He described himself as like Jeremy Collins, which probably isn’t the best matchup, but his intentions were right. “I think I’m gonna have so many panic attacks” contrasted with “I’m a pretty positive person overall”. Hopefully he’s not too neurotic/paranoid, because especially as a 19 year old, that’s probable. I think he’s got a ‘hero’ persona, but if he’s out on the island and a competitive side comes out, a little villain could definitely come out, and I’d be interested to see that. I can see him making it around the merge, especially if he makes the right connections and alliances, which I see him doing. If he makes strong alliances, he will make it far because he has a lot of charm. People might take advantage of him, though, so I hope that doesn’t block him in the end. Prediction: Merge.
Chris Underwood:
Fan, but basic fan. The seasonal “adventure” guy, likes sailing, camping, surfing, etc. He’s quoting Josh Wigler’s references, so he’s one with the fans. He says he’s like Malcolm, Spencer, Ozzy, and Rob, but he didn’t specify which Rob. I’m gonna guess he meant BR, since that’s usually the default. He’s definitely gonna try and be the “charming” guy, gonna flirt a ton and try and use it as strategy. If he can pull out a Malcolm, he’ll be able to make it pretty far I think. I hope he does well, but I hope he doesn’t get caught up in a Survivor fan ego. He already sounds pretty confident with his game in his interview, so his ego will probably be his biggest battle. However, I think he will do well. I see him going far. Prediction: Final 6.
Kelley Wentworth:
I am SO excited to see Kelley play again! I have always thought of her as a super strong player. I am worried, though, after she came so far last time. She made it to the final four in her second run; super hard to follow up. She’s probably the strongest returnee in the game, probably the biggest strategic threat. I think that pairing her with David right off the bat could be good, but I’m worried about his neuroticism. People are probably going to remember her as a badass and see her as a target. If they aren’t starstruck by her, they’ll probably get her out soon. I think she might be able to manipulate them, though, and if she gets enough momentum, she’ll be able to make it far again. I’m hoping for her to make it far!! Prediction: Merge.
David Wright:
I think he’s an interesting player to bring back. I think his paranoia dominated his game last time, and he’s already milking the self-deprication card again. I think the best thing he could do for himself is turn that into charm, which I think he probably plans on doing. As a returnee, he has to be able to bury his paranoia as much as he can or else the rookies will easily tear him down. I hope he doesn’t try to hard to charm the television too much, though, like a Phillip character. I think Kelley will probably end up tearing him apart. I don’t think he’ll make it far. Prediction: Premerge.

• A woman gave my dad $400 so we could get an apartment. We were living in a park. That’s how we got started: Four hundred bucks, and look at me. When I donate a computer to a school, I never know what’s going to come out of it. – Gilbert Arenas • Americans are known for their strength, fortitude, and generosity in times of need. We encourage people in the U.S. and everywhere to give with their hearts, reach out to these victims, and donate what they can to the relief efforts. – Michael Dell • And when those bombs went off, there were runners who, after finishing a marathon, kept running for another two miles to the hospital to donate blood. So, here’s what I know – these maniacs may have tried to make life bad for the people of Boston, but all they can ever do, is show just how good those people are. – Stephen Colbert
jQuery(document).ready(function($) var data = action: 'polyxgo_products_search', type: 'Product', keywords: 'Donate', orderby: 'rand', order: 'DESC', template: '1', limit: '68', columns: '4', viewall:'Shop All', ; jQuery.post(spyr_params.ajaxurl,data, function(response) var obj = jQuery.parseJSON(response); jQuery('#thelovesof_donate').html(obj); jQuery('#thelovesof_donate img.swiper-lazy:not(.swiper-lazy-loaded)' ).each(function () var img = jQuery(this); img.attr("src",img.data('src')); img.addClass( 'swiper-lazy-loaded' ); img.removeAttr('data-src'); ); ); ); • Being willing to donate the taxpayers’ money is not the same as being willing to put your own money where your mouth is. – Thomas Sowell • Big Data allows us to see patterns we have never seen before. This will clearly show us interdependence and connections that will lead to a new way of looking at everything. It will let us see the ‘real-time’ cause and effect of our actions. What we buy, eat, donate, and throw away will be visual in a real-time map to see the ripple effect of our actions. That could only lead to mores-conscious behavior. – Tiffany Shlain • Do you know what the actual percentage of money the Clinton Foundation has raised that they donate so far to charity is? It’s like 5%. Five percent of what they have collected they have donated – and of course, nobody reports that, either. – Rush Limbaugh • Donate and do not talk about it, they say you do nothing for the society; do and talk about it, they say you seek publicity! – Amitabh Bachchan • Donate time, food, or money to organizations that fight the good fight. We can act individually for the collective good. We can all do something. – Joy Bryant • Donate to the extent that you don’t have food for yourself after feeding the needy. – Sivaji Ganesan • Don’t spend two dollars to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the Salvation Army instead. They’ll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for seventy-five cents. – Billiam Coronel • Flint is a city of a hundred thousand that was having a rough go of it even before its water was poisoned by lead. And when the water crisis finally grabbed national headlines this winter, the Democratic presidential candidates noticed. Hillary Clinton sent senior staff to investigate and asked her supporters to donate to a fund for Flint’s kids. Bernie Sanders called on Michigan’s Republican governor, Rick Snyder, to resign. – Tamara Keith • For people who don’t know, the fundraiser works like this: people donate to Worldbuilders and they’re automatically entered to win geeky swag in the lottery. We’re just starting week two and we’re already giving away more than $40,000 of books and games. – Patrick Rothfuss • Frazier is so ugly that he should donate his face to the US Bureau of Wild Life. – Muhammad Ali • Go into business, sell a product, sell a service, you’re automatically a suspect to people like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton – unless you donate to them, and then you become their closest friends, and then we get cronyism. – Rush Limbaugh • He whipped the chair around and actually split one of the things in half with the impact, spilling the spray of blood that was reflective, like mercury. John bellowed, “Anyone else want to donate blood to chair-ity?” He ducked into the the door and bashed one monster right in the wig, screaming, “There’s some dessert! With a chair-y on top! – David Wong • Hey Everyone! Parts of the US are getting hit really hard and need our help. Reach Out Worldwide is proud to announce that we’ve sent out a team and are already on the ground helping out. Please help us make a bigger impact by donating to this cause at http:// donate.ROWW.org/ arkansasrelief . Our thoughts are with all of the people in this devastated region. Thank you! – Cody Walker • How come you like Josh so much anyway? All he does is sit around drinking overpriced coffee and bitching about how awful things are” “He cares about the world.” “If he cared about the world, he’d donate the ten thousand dollars he must spend on coffee every year to charity. That would be doing something. – Elizabeth Scott • I am happy to donate funds to various organizations that help people in need. – Carl Karcher • I do a fair bit for children’s charities. The big ones I support in Liverpool are Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, and Claire House Children’s Hospice. I donate money and time but the time is what they value the most. If my inclusion at any event they’re doing, helps them to raise more money, then of course I’ll be there. – Robbie Fowler • I do not think it is selfish to want to donate a kidney “only” to family members. – Mallory Ortberg • I donate heavily to the church and various churches in the Detroit community and food banks. – Aretha Franklin • I donate lots to charity. I don’t necessarily tell everybody the number or what I do. – Lindsay Davenport • I donate money to the existing foundation that funds the US Ski Team kids. – Picabo Street • I have a healthy respect for those individuals and the businesses that they represent. Their involvement only solidifies my belief that the United Way is a worthy organization to donate my time and efforts to. – Bill Vaughan • I owe my life to blood donors. I’m forever grateful to people who donate. – Niki Taylor • I think I actually made a very kind gesture out of nowhere; I decided in the middle of that match that for every ace I hit I want to donate money. I just think people should honestly look at themselves before they judge another person. I’ve never been spoiled. I want a Range Rover very bad, but I refuse to spend the money to buy a Range…The diamonds are borrowed. I won’t buy them because I’m too cheap. – Serena Williams • I think you should automatically donate your organs because that would turn the balance of organ donation in a huge way. I would donate whatever anybody would take, and I’d probably do the cremation bit. – George Clooney • I used to get taxed on my allowance. Yeah, I’ve been taxed since I was a little kid. And at the end of the year I had to pick a charity to donate my taxes to. – Lauren Conrad • I went to a pizzeria. The guy gave me the smallest slice possible. If the pizza was a pie chart with what would you do if you found a million dollars, he gave me the “Donate it to charity” slice. “I’d like to exchange this for the ‘Keep it!'” – Mitch Hedberg • I wondered if it was possible to donate my body to science before I was actually dead. I wondered if a disease were to be named after me what the symptoms would be. – Miriam Toews • I work with a charity called Donate My Dress. It’s got chapters all over the country where you can donate special-occasion dresses. Prom is a big deal when you’re 15 years old, and it enables girls who don’t have the money to come in and choose something special. – Ashley Greene • I wouldn’t want to donate my body for scientific study. – Patricia Cornwell • I’ve had so much plastic surgery, when I die they will donate my body to Tupperware. – Joan Rivers • If it feels right to recycle our waste or purchase solar panels for our house or rescue an animal or adopt a child or stop someone from hurting another or donate our time, money, or goods to charity, then do it. – Bryan Kest • If I’ve learned anything in the more than 50 years that I’ve led MDA, it’s that the generosity of the American people knows no bounds. I’m sure that with their fellow citizens in such dire need, they’ll dig deep and do everything they can to help. I’m hopeful that many people will be willing to make two phone calls and donate to both causes. – Jerry Lewis • If someone does not have a specific charity they would like to donate to, that’s OK. An undesignated donation would be split up evenly amongst all the charities supported by the Annapolis Area Complex. – Derren Brown • If something is important enough to you that you feel the urge to donate your money or time to it, I think it’s best to try to express that form of giving through your career, not just as something you do on the side. If you enjoy your volunteering and charitable activities more than your career, it means your career is in serious need of an upgrade. In my opinion your career should be your best outlet for giving. – Steve Pavlina • If the money we donate helps one child or can ease the pain of one parent, those funds are well spent. – Carl Karcher • If you don’t donate to Obama and you’re a major corporation like Big Oil, then they’re gonna blame you for climate change, destroying the planet and they’re gonna get everybody turned against you and hating your guts and so forth, and that’s how they operate. That’s not how Trump operates. That’s not how Mike Pence operates. They understand the simple mathematics of economics. – Rush Limbaugh • If you take all the food aid, America is by far the most generous country. If you take the direct aid, we’re very generous. But when you add on our private contributions – see, our tax system encourages private citizens to donate to organisations that, for example, help the folks in Africa. And when you take the combined effort of US taxpayers’ money plus US citizens’ donations, we’re very generous. And we’ll do more. – George W. Bush • I’ll go through all of [12 steps for people who say are traumatized by the election], but a sample: Volunteer to fight Islamaphobia. Join the ACLU. Donate to Planned Parenthood. Take down sexism and misogyny. Sort of all the stations of the cross of liberalism. Sort of all the stations of the cross of liberalism. – Tucker Carlson • I’ll tell ya, my wife and I, we don’t think alike. She donates money to the homeless, and I donate money to the topless! – Rodney Dangerfield • I’m a good son, a good father, a good husband – I’ve been married to the same woman for 30 years. I’m a good friend. I finished college, I have my education, I donate money anonymously. So when people criticize the kind of characters that I play on screen, I go, ‘You know, that’s part of history.’ – Samuel L. Jackson • I’m blessed. I have a 13-year-old girl’s eye and a 14 year-old boy’s eye. I’ve been given the gift of sight by people who decided to donate organs. I try to do as much organ-donor work as I can. – Mandy Patinkin • Imagine, just for the sake of discussion, that you had a few hours a week and a few dollars a month to donate to a cause – and you wanted to spend that time and money where it would have the greatest impact in saving and improving lives. Where would you spend it? – Bill Gates • In Japan, it’s strange to openly take credit for giving to charity or even to donate publicly. – Robert Paul Weston • It is easier to donate a few thousand to charity and think oneself noble than to base self-respect on personal standards of personal achievement. – Ayn Rand • It is important to note that there are no age limitations on who can donate organs and tissue. Newborns as well as senior citizens have been organ donors. – Vic Snyder • It is worthwhile to engage in something that is close to one’s heart. I had a scholarship. So if I donate money to give brilliant Chinese students an opportunity to study abroad, then this embodies everything I believe in: education, globalization, social mobility. I am an example of social mobility. – Zhang Xin • It’s easy to run to others. It’s so hard to stand on one’s own record. You can fake virtue for an audience. You can’t fake it in your own eyes. Your ego is your strictest judge. They run from it. They spend their lives running. It’s easier to donate a few thousand to charity and think oneself noble than to base self-respect on personal standards of personal achievement. It’s simple to seek substitutes for competence–such easy substitutes: love, charm, kindness, charity. But there is no substitute for competence. – Ayn Rand • It’s one thing to donate money. It’s a whole other thing to give an opportunity for someone to make his own money. – Liya Kebede • Jesus, that ear. He should donate it to The Smithsonian. Brian Wilson, he made all his records with four tracks, but you couldn’t make his records if you had a hundred tracks today. – Bob Dylan • Joe Lieberman frightens me. Why should we, an Hollywood voter, donate money to a man who threatens our creative freedom, our freedom of expression. – Joe Eszterhas • Ladies, you may not realize this, understand this, or even believe this, but everything else we do is ultimately for you. Men don’t do anything-create art, build businesses, donate to charity, invent things, or do anything noteworthy-for any reason other than to impress women, and thus get them to have sex with us. If women didn’t exist, we’d still just be naked grunting apes living in caves. In a very real way, pussy is the key to human civilization. You don’t have to like it, but it’s a fact; if you understand it, you understand men. – Tucker Max • Less mess, less stress. That’s my rule! If you don’t stay on top of decluttering, it can get out of control. I maintain as much as possible. I’ll do seasonal edits and decide what we can toss or donate. If we don’t love it, need it or haven’t used it in the past year, it’s gone. – Molly Sims • Let Pascal say that man is a thinking reed. He is wrong; man is a thinking erratum. Each period in life is a new edition that corrects the preceding one and that in turn will be corrected by the next, until publication of the definitive edition, which the publisher donates to the worms. – Machado de Assis • Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that he will donate $45 billion of his wealth to philanthropy. Two years ago, my husband and I decided to endow $100 million to set up the SOHO China Scholars. This program will give financial aid to Chinese students so they can attend the best universities in the world. – Zhang Xin • Maybe instead of buying myself another Barbie, I could donate that to the Kmart Wishing Tree. – Hamish Blake • Mitt Romney has a new fundraising gimmick. If you donate $3 or more to his campaign, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a dinner with Mitt Romney and Donald Trump. If you donate more than $10, you get to sit at a different table. – Jay Leno • My mother always told me if I really didn’t wan to do something, if I was really tired, but if I had helped someone and I really went out of my way for them but I asked nothing for it, that I should donate my energy to the souls in purgatory-meaning that to give my goodness to those who are trapped. This is purgatory/limbo. This is a very Catholic thing that very few people really understand. – Peter Steele • No. But it’s like the argument `don’t donate to third-world countries because the money mightn’t get to them.’ People only say that because it makes them feel better about the fact that they do nothing. – Melina Marchetta • Of all the things that it is possible to donate, to donate your own body is infinitely more worthwhile. – William Jones • Okay, God, I thought. Get me out of this and I’ll stop my half-assed church-going ways. You got me past a pack of Strigoi tonight. I mean, trapping that one between the doors really shouldn’t have worked, so clearly you’re on board. Let me get out of here, and I’ll…I don’t know. Donate Adrian’s money to the poor. Get baptized. Join a convent. Well, no. Not that last one. – Richelle Mead • One ought not to encourage beggars, and yes, you are right, it is far better to donate to charities that address the causes of poverty rather than to him, a creature who is merely its symptom. – Mohsin Hamid • People are going to have a good time, you know. One can go have a good time at these big openings in museums. And people go to have a good time. But the thing has another purpose. In the case of museums, it’s always got to do with money, people who donate and things like that. And I believe a certain kind of interest has to be demonstrated. – Garry Winogrand • People get together and they donate to organizations so that a pile of money can be used to create a message that can be broadcast en masse as part of the a political campaign. They are the lifeblood of Hillary Clinton campaign, the banks and all these big time rich people from Hollywood and Silicon Valley are the mother’s milk of her campaign. They are the money. She just doesn’t want Donald Trump to have it or any other Republican to have it or any average citizen to be able to bundle his money with other people’s money and create an ad or a campaign. – Rush Limbaugh • People who identify themselves as conservatives donate money to charity more often than people who identify themselves as liberals. They donate more money and a higher percentage of their incomes. – Thomas Sowell • Perhaps we have failed as human beings. Perhaps we have embarrassed ourselves to the natural world. We have been rigorous and willful in all the wrong ways. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Maybe you don’t want to deal with (marching), the permanent marker and poster board. But try something else. Carry someone’s groceries. Chat with the custodian in your office building. Donate blood. Live in Rwanda for a year. Write letters to the Department of Buildings. Learn to knit. It is only going to get better from here on out. – Sufjan Stevens • Presumed consent preserves freedom of choice, but it is different from explicit consent because it shifts the default rule. Under this policy, all citizens would be presumed to be consenting donors, but they would have the opportunity to register their unwillingness to donate. – Cass Sunstein • Scott has to be one of the most talented artists I’ve ever seen. He really captures his subjects in a unique way. He is extremely generous as well. How many artists are willing to donate some of their best works to charity? The Texas Sports Hall of Fame has benefited greatly from Medlock’s donated paintings, which are the cornerstones of our auction! – Bob Lilly • Since time is the one immaterial object which we cannot influence – neither speed up nor slow down, add to nor diminish – it is an imponderably valuable gift. Each of us has a few minutes a day or a few hours a week which we could donate to an old folks home or a children’s hospital ward. The elderly whose pillows we plump or whose water pitchers we refill may or may not thank us for our gift, but the gift is upholding the foundation of the universe. – Maya Angelou • Sometimes when I’m swimming, I think that maybe someday I’ll put my red Speedo up for auction. Or maybe I’ll donate it to the Smithsonian. They can stuff it with two plums and a gherkin and put it on display. – David Duchovny • That is not true I am not a greedy man because if I was why would i donate money to charity?I care about others as well. – John D. Rockefeller • The Clinton Foundation does nothing but donate to charities.” They can’t find any evidence that what Schweizer has written about the Clintons and their foundation and the fund-raising and the getting paid for speeches is wrong. They can’t find anything where he’s wrong. The book has not been “discredited.” So [Donald] Trump delivers this massive speech. It hit home run after home run after home run. – Rush Limbaugh • The great thing is these days I no longer have to work for a living and that all of the things that I’m able to do where money is paid as compensation for whatever it be, I’m able to donate all of that to charity. That’s a wonderful position to find yourself in at the latest stages of your life and I’m proud to have walked the path that I have and I’m proud to be able to continue working and to be able to give away what I earn to some very good causes here in the Southwest. – Robin Leach • The ideal set-up would be the story man, the director, and the layout man, as well as musician, operating as a sort of story unit. They all should be keenly interested in the picture. No one in person should donate to an extent where he would keep the others from entering into the production and freely expressing themselves. – Walt Disney • The Oscars is the one night of the year when you can see all your favorite stars without having to donate any money to the Democratic Party – Jon Stewart • The Pacifica Network is a vital cornerstone of our independent media landscape that depends on your financial support. Please donate today to safeguard the future of listener-powered community radio. – Amy Goodman • The point is that no matter what you choose to do with your body when you die, it won’t, ultimately, be very appealing. If you are inclined to donate yourself to science, you should not let images of dissection or dismemberment put you off. They are no more or less gruesome, in my opinion, than ordinary decay or the sewing shut of your jaws via your nostrils for a funeral viewing. – Mary Roach • The shape I’m in, I could donate my body to science fiction. – Rodney Dangerfield • There are lots of issues more important than where billionaires donate their money. – Malcolm Gladwell • There can be no clearer indication of how undemocratic the way we finance campaigns is than the fact that only one-quarter of 1% donate $200 or more, and only one-tenth of 1% gives $1,000 or more. – Arianna Huffington • There could be a powerful international women’s rights movement if only philanthropists would donate as much to real women as to paintings and sculptures of women. – Nicholas D. Kristof • They are miserly, the princes of Austria, you need not grieve about it; they may not donate anything, but they allow themselves tobe fleeced, the good lords. – Franz Grillparzer • To be able to donate money to effect change is extremely exciting. I think I’m very determined and persistent. All the things that you need to deliver a successful business and I think these qualities will be useful in the campaign with the Animal Justice Fund. – Jan Cameron • To see change in your own area code is very powerful. There’s a little orphanage down the street from my company, and we donate $1 from the sale of each CD we sell to the orphanage. – Henry Rollins • Tom [Cargil]s suggestion with a further idea: Propsers of new [C++] features should be required to donate a kidney. That would – Jim [Waldo] pointed out – make people think hard before proposing, and even people without any sense would propose at most two extensions. – Bjarne Stroustrup • URGE is a grassroots charity. We organized to get some incubators to give to the hospital for the kids. We donate money to orphanages. – Ziggy Marley • We cannot wait for others to make a difference, we have to be the change ourselves. To be a part of the making of yet another cancer hospital is a blessing in itself.’ Watch me live on ARY Digital and donate to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Peshawar as much as you can. – Hadiqa Kiani • We must “Bring Back Our Girls” and support Nigerians working every day to create change. Please donate now to support Nigerian organizations educating and standing up for girls – Malala Yousafzai • We’re raising our girls to understand the real meaning of Christmas, and to know that it’s most important to have Christmas in your heart. We go to our local mall and donate toys, and we say prayers for all the people in the world who might not be as lucky as we are. – Faith Hill • What took you so long?” Nash asked, as he slid into the passenger seat and pulled the door closed. “I stopped to donate all your underwear to the homeless. You’re gonna wanna take care of those tighty whities—they’re all you’ve got left.” He leaned against the door, either too tired or too drunk to sit up. “And to think, most people don’t understand your sense of humor.” “Fools, all of them. – Rachel Vincent • When Al Gore picked Joe Lieberman to be his running mate in the 2000 presidential campaign, Eszterhas wrote “Joe Lieberman frightens me. Why should we, an Hollywood voter, donate money to a man who threatens our creative freedom, our freedom of expression.” – David Shuster • When the Haiti earthquake happened, I registered with UNICEF to set up an account, and posted to Twitter for people to donate to it. In a matter of a couple of hours, $30,000 had been donated. That, to me, was eye-opening. – Misha Collins • Whenever I donate a hunting trip for the Children’s Leukemia Foundation, Ronald McDonald Cancer House, all these children’s charities, I offer the anti-hunters an opportunity: if you donate more to the children’s charity than the hunters donate we won’t go hunting. – Ted Nugent • You can give your Social Security check to any organization, public or private, or to individuals. You can donate it to your favorite political party. You can give the funds to a student scholarship – for your grandchildren, for example – or to somebody who has a medical need. Or you can invest your government check in free enterprise. – Mark Skousen • You don’t have to donate money, it can be clothes, or books, or mediavl supplies. So there’s so much that can be done [for refugees], the most difficult thing is that first step that decision to do something. – Khaled Hosseini • You may have heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. There’s another day you might want to know about: Giving Tuesday. The idea is pretty straightforward. On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, shoppers take a break from their gift-buying and donate what they can to charity. – Bill Gates

I wondered if a disease were to be named after me what the symptoms would be. – Miriam Toews • I work with a charity called Donate My Dress. It’s got chapters all over the country where you can donate special-occasion dresses.
