enjoy limitless possibilities here in celestire islands, chuuya nakahara ( bungo stray dogs ), where you can start the new life you've always longed for. make sure you read the checklist, as we'll be sending the discord link through ims! enjoy your new dream, dream!
death tw, cw: stormbringer light novel spoilers! ( bungo stray dogs (anime + light novels). ueda keisuke, any pronouns, gender apathetic. ) ——- hey, is that ( chuuya nakahara ) hanging around ( the crow club )? i wonder what life is like for them, balancing working as a ( thirty ) year old ( self - defense instructor ) and ( playing billiards )? they’re notorious for being ( loyal ) yet ( temperamental ), and i always seem to hear ( lilith ) by ( halsey ft. suga ) playing whenever they walk past. they’re known around the islands for ( punching someone's dad when he was in high school ), and they’re associated with ( flickering sparks of a flame from a lighter lit in the cold of winter, notes of cherry and raspberry from a freshly uncorked bottle of wine, and thundering footsteps as they collide against the earth ). last we spoke, they were telling me about a vision they had… something about their biggest regret being ( ||getting too attached to the flags only for them to die because of them|| ), but it must have just been a bad dream. // — [ dream. ]

Since apparently Somebody wants to know my wild theory about why world stars France is so tall...
It’s Hetamyu.
I read somewhere (I’ve read too many things about hetamyu by now and can not for the life of me remember where I saw it, so please don’t ask) that when they were casting for hetamyu, one of the things they took into consideration was the actors heights in comparison the the characters. Here’s the best picture I have of all the actors lined up together, and the same characters in the same order from the collezione (i didn’t quite get them lined up properly, but you get the idea):
So you can see it’s not too bad. In fact, if you look up the actors heights (don’t worry, I did that work too)...
Italy: 173cm -> Ryoki Nagae: 169cm
Germany: 180cm -> Yoichiro Omi: 180cm/Yusuke Ueda: 182cm
Japan: 165cm -> Keisuke Ueda: 163cm
America: 177cm -> Ryuko Isogai: 185cm
England: 175cm -> Daisuke Hirose: 177cm
France: 175cm -> Juri: 186cm
Russia: 182cm -> Yuki Yamaoki: 181cm
China: 169cm -> Taishi Sugie: 170cm
Austria: 177cm -> Takuya Kikuchi(ROU): 182cm
Spain: 176cm -> Takeshi James Yamada: 176cm
Prussia: 178cm -> Gaku Takamoto: 180cm
Romano: 172cm -> Yuta Higuchi: 172cm
...you can see most of the actors are within a few centimeters of their characters (exceptions being Spain and Romano’s actors, who are the same height as the characters, and France...who is very tall)
So then, France and England are supposed to be the same height...and they look pretty close in some art...and then in some...it looks more like this...
So yeah, tall anime France is all Juri’s fault.
TLDR: they wanted the hetamyu actors to be close to the same height as the characters they play, but then they cast a ridiculously tall model as France, so now they have to draw France taller so it’s less obvious
#hetalia#world stars#aph france#hws france#hetamyu#character heights and pics came from the collezione#actor heights came from extensive googling#like I said:#it's a wild stupid theory#but it's my theory#hetamyu is also my theory about why austria spain prussia and romano are the ones getting all the merch with the main eight

A3! Mankai Stage | 大切なもの (Taisetsu na Mono) Winter 2020 Scene Translation

A small translation of the scene where the song Taisetsu na Mono sung by Hisoka (Keisuke Ueda) appears in the stage play.
Disclaimer: The translation was done completely by ear (except the song), so it could be not completely accurate. Feel free to point out any mistake I could have made.
The scene translation is focused on Hisoka’s memories. I’ll skip some lines said by other members. The lines in italics explain what is happening in the scene. Also, get some tissues...
--------------------------------
After Homare complains about the 3 members that are late for the practice…
Tsumugi: Before that, can I have a word? Tsumugi: There’s something I would like you to hear, Homare-san. Homare: …What could it be? Tasuku: Arisugawa… here. Homare: Aah! Christine! Homare: After all you were the real culprit here! Tasuku: You… Hisoka: That’s not true... I was the one who had it Homare: It was you, Hisoka-kun? Hisoka: …Yes. Homare: But, why did you do it? Hisoka: Well…
A tick tock resounds, we go back to the past, and a slow melody starts to sound... Members from other troupes (Citron, Kazunari and Tsuzuru) appear, they bump into Homare… the time stops for a bit, and his pocket watch falls...
Hisoka: (Ah? Alice’s watch fell) Hisoka: (He hasn’t noticed it…)
The memory continues, and Homare…
Hisoka: (Ah, he left…) Hisoka: (What should I do? I think I’ll pick it and give it to him…) Hisoka: (Hm? This watch is broken. It could have broken now, but I think he said it was broken before...)
Citron is messing around and ends up bumping Tsuzuru… but the time freezes for a bit...
Hisoka: (Wait, no…)
Hisoka pushes Tsuzuru before he destroys Homare’s watch, and falls. Citron and Tsuzuru are surprised about what happened.
Hisoka: Sorry, I fell down…
Hisoka takes Homare’s watch.
Hisoka: (I’ll give it back to him later)
The tick tock resounds again, and takes us to another time...
Homare: Apparently the culprit couldn’t be found, this was Homare Arisugawa. Hisoka: (Oh right, I forgot to give it back to him) Azuma: But I still think is impossible that someone in the company stole it. Hisoka: (It’s not like I stole it, but it could be seen like that right now) Hisoka: (They could even think I was the one who broke it) Homare: There’s no case if it got lost. This incident is unsolved… I’ll just give up on it! Hisoka: Give up on it? Hisoka: (It looked like something important... is it because it’s broken?)
Homare: It’s fine, that thing was unneeded from the start... Hisoka: (Is something unneeded?)
Hisoka keeps thinking about this while the scene continues… now everyone is gone...
Hisoka: Hey, Director. Hisoka: About Alice’s pocket watch... Is it necessary to him? Or unnecessary? Hisoka: I thought it was something important, but he said it was an unneeded thing. Hisoka: Alice is always so simple and stupid that I don’t understand him. Director answers. Hisoka: Then why did he say it was unneeded? Hisoka: You don’t know either? I see… Hisoka: Hm? You’ll search for his watch? But you don’t understand Alice’s feelings and he said it was unneeded before, why do you want to find it? Director answers. Hisoka: Even if I can’t understand the other person’s feelings, I can try to think how it is to be in his shoes...
Hisoka: If something someone important gave me just disappeared… how would I feel?
♪ The feeling of losing something important will the me without memories get to understand? I’ll try to imaginate a precious thing someone important gave me.
On a cold night… the feeling of a warm hand… I shouldn’t understand it, even so, somehow, I think I can do it… ♪
The tick tock resounds one more time, the time is moving… Hisoka goes to see Tasuku.
Hisoka: Please fix it. Tasuku: You found Arisugawa’s pocket watch? Hisoka: I’ll give it back to him once is fixed. Tasuku: Sigh… I think it's impossible for me to do it. This isn’t something for amateurs. Hisoka: But I heard you could fix the TV… Tasuku: A TV is different from a pocket watch. Hisoka: Maybe we won’t make it well in the performance if it’s like this... Because it’s the last component… Tasuku: The performance? But it’s almost impossible to fix it before it.
Hisoka still tries to give the watch to Tasuku…
Tasuku: Fine, I’ll try but I can’t assure it will be fixed Hisoka: Here, I’ll… Tasuku: I don’t need a marshmallow…in exchange, make sure to act the best you can out there. Hisoka: Thank you, Tasuku.
Hisoka is leaving the room when…
Tsumugi: Hisoka-kun, what happens? Hisoka: Nothing…
Hisoka leaves the room quickly… and the flashback ends with a tick tock sound…
Hisoka: For me who doesn’t remember anything, there’s no memories or important things behind. So I can’t understand Alice’s complicated feelings. Hisoka: But, when I tried to imagine his feelings, I thought the watch was something irreplaceable for him. Homare: That’s why you fix it for me? Hisoka: Yes Tsumugi: But, why didn't you say anything about it all this time? Azuma: Yes, you should have said something if you had it. Hisoka: Since maybe it couldn’t be fixed, I thought Alice would be downhearted... Homare: Hisoka-kun…

Me; The Yuki You Know
This is my first post on Tumblr so I decided to introduce myself with this 20 facts about me.
BTW if you know me from IRL, you'll know like, who's writing this(?) idk how to phrase it. But chances are, you came from my insta bio.
My name is Yuki (if you didn't know) and the kanji I was "assigned" is 幸.
I'm fluent in English, Korean, and semi fluent in Japanese.
I'm an ISFJ-T 4w3
I'm a huge MBTI enthusiast and can and will ask you your MBTI and memorize it all.
I like all sorts of art! (digital, traditional, writing, photography, acting, voice acting, etc.) Speaking of which, I'm currently writing a psychological thriller book, and I also auditioned for a voice acting company in Japan, but I didn't pass the first screening TvT so I'll probably try again next year.
I'm super into anime and games, so feel free to talk to me abt those! My current fandoms are: A3!, Criminal Minds, Viral Hit, Teenage Mercenary, Spy X Family, and more.
My favourite voice actors are: Seiya Konishi (also stage actor), Junta Terashima, Yuuki Sakakihara, Soma Saito, Yuusuke Shirai, Gakuto Kajiwara, Kana Hanazawa, Saori Hayami, Ayane Sakura, and Ayana Taketatsu.
My favourite stage actor is Keisuke Ueda.
My favourite A3! Song (they got so much and they're spoiling us help) is probably Double Solitaire.
My favourite overall song is Pomegranate by Soma Saito.
I'll either be super active for long periods of time or inactive for who knows how long jnsfknkvnsdj
I'm really into fashion and makeup too, which were one of my childhood dreams (fashion designer and makeup artist) but my first dream was to become an actress. Now, my dream job is to be a voice actor in Japan while taking on psychiatry on the side.
If you give me a book to read with an interesting bond with two characters, I'll look up for fanart and fanfics of them, and if I don't find jack shit, I'll do it. I'll fuckin' do it and nobody can stop me.
I'm really salty about this one but I used to be 164.5cm, and like, a week after my AP finals I checked it again and I FUCKING SHRUNK. I SHRUNK 1.3 CM. HOW.
I love to cook. Mainly simple dishes but I can make something fancy if I had to. If I had the time to, I'd cook for our family daily but High School likes to fuck over our schedules so I can't.
I clean when I get stressed, but the thing is, I get stressed so much that sometimes there isn't much to clean so I'd like, hold back my tears, mess up my room, and re-clean it. That was like, up until two months ago. After that, now I just... empty my closet and fold everything back in. Everything but the stockings.
I had like, a bunch of sheer tights, right? Like, a crap ton before I started attending my current HS. The reason for that's because we have a uniform (button up, tie, cardigan, hoodie, blazer, skirt, the works) and I always wear stockings. Otherwise I feel naked, and that applies with any skirt I wear. But anyways, I had a shit ton of stockings right? And now that sophomore year's practically over, I kinda realized how many stockings I've ripped. For you creeps wondering why, I didn't do anything kinky. I don't even fall or anything. I actually don't know why my stockings rip so much, and I'm underweight so it's not light my leg fat would just PSSHHT it open? And it's always the knees. Are my knees that sharp? That's just a question for another time tho.
I play 5.5 instruments. I'm saying 5.5 because I haven't gotten the full hang of viola yet and it's just something I've kinda messed around with in my free time. The rest are (in order of comfortability): Violin, Bass guitar, Electric/acoustic guitar, Drums, Piano.
My actual voice is on the lower side. I'm a bit self conscious abt it tho so I kinda tone up? or like, speak in a naturally higher pitch and people don't know that it's not my real voice. I can hit some low notes too, I think I can go down to a D3? Idk how high I can go up to but I can cover the full alto range and probably mezzo or soprano... My other ranges for voice acting is like, typical lolita voices (yk, the cutesy stuff), a bit of shouta voices, yandere laughs (is that even a thing), snobby asshole person voices, and guys.
I'm dyslexic (it's not that bad compared to others) but I've practiced reading lots and now people think I'm lying when I tell them I'm dyslexic xD

Nocturnality (Mankai Stage Winter 2020 translation)
translation for the stage version of winter’s third play! song can be found in full here.
ALRIGHT FOLKS IT’S THE GAY PEOPLE. HERE WE GO. a lot of it is actually like...silent? you can hear it in the soundtrack ver that it’s just inst with some occasional sound effects and i’ll write in what’s happening, but i just think it’s interesting that that’s how they decided to go about showing things for noct. i mean, it makes sense. show not tell amirite.
cast list
Yukishiro Azuma (Ueda Kandai) as Kuto Reo Takato Tasuku (Kitazono Ryo) as Seo Kota Mikage Hisoka (Ueda Keisuke) as Franz Arisugawa Homare (Tanaka Ryousei) as Nonomiya Tsukioka Tsumugi (Aramaki Yoshihiko) as Izumi Ryohei
-
(the curtain rises. kota is going about his business, reading and sleeping on the couch in the foreground, going to work at his office. in the background, reo drinks from an unsuspecting passerby, but is accosted by a vampire hunter in white. franz shows up to have a knife fight with the vampire hunter, but reo is injured, and falls into kota’s arms as he’s walking home.)
Kota: Hey!
Reo: Help...me...
-
Reo: Good morning. You were a great help yesterday.
Kota: Did you make this?
Reo: It’s just from what was in the fridge, so it’s nothing special, but I wanted to give you something as thanks for letting me stay the night.
Kota: Amazing. What are you, a wife?
Reo: I’ve lived this long, but I think this is the first time someone’s called me a wife.
(kota takes a bite of the sandwich reo made him, but the funny part is that bc of the face shield requirement, it doesn’t make it to his mouth. the poor man can’t eat his wife’s cooking. rest in pieces.)
Kota: It’s good! I’m Seo Kota. And you are?
Reo: Reo...Kuto Reo.
Kota: Reo. If you don’t have anywhere else to go, you can stay here for a while.
Reo: You’d let a man you don’t even know stay in your house?
Kota: Eh, well...my room’s nice and clean...and this is delicious. If you stay, it’ll be a big help for me too.
Reo: You’re really trusting, aren’t you. Well, I’ll be in your care, then.
Kota: Aren’t you going to eat?
Reo: I eat at irregular times. Don’t mind me, just eat.
[winter telepathy time part 1] Azuma: (Just as I’d expect from you. You’re really giving off this feeling of helplessness that’s nothing like how you are normally.)
Tasuku: (The version of me that always seems strong might be the one that’s acting, though.)
Azuma: (You can say something like that without hesitation...you’re an adult, so you are strong.)
Tasuku: (Because we’ve got these members...let’s take this to the very end, in a delicate way fitting for Winter.)
Azuma: (Yes, let’s.)
-
Kota: I’m off.
Reo: Take care.
Kota: So you’re just going to send me out. Yesterday...you asked me for help...
Reo: I’m sorry...
-
Izumi: Oh, do you live here? I just moved in, I’m Izumi.
Kota: I’m Seo. Nice to meet you.
Izumi: You’re on your way to work, right? Sorry for stopping you.
Kota: No, it’s alright. If you ever have any problems, please let me know.
-
Nonomiya: Hey, I heard. You picked someone up off the street? That’s way too suspicious. This isn’t an afternoon drama or a manga for middle-aged ladies.
Kota: Give me a break. Reo’s a good guy. And he can cook.
Nonomiya: (sigh.) If you say stuff like that it’s only gonna hurt you.
[winter telepathy time part 2] Homare: (Well, well, how is it? My acting as an office worker.)
Tasuku: (Honestly, I’m surprised. You can even do a role like this smoothly now, huh.)
Homare: (An outstanding artist can excel in anything they do.)
Tasuku: (How reliable.)
Homare: (Now, continue as you like. The rest of us shall support you.)
-
(kota goes home. he and reo spend time talking together until he seems to get tired, when reo helps him over to the bed.)
Reo Saying that I’m sorry Might not be fair I’m eating away at your life And yet I wonder why Even though I want your blood, I don’t want it
(and then reo dramatically leans over kota and just, Bite)
Kota: Sorry about last night.
Reo: ...what for?
Kota: I’ve been having a lot of nightmares lately. I must be noisy in my sleep.
Reo: No, you’ve been sleeping quietly.
Kota: That’s good, then.
Reo: Rather than worry about someone else, you should look after yourself...
Kota: Huh?
Reo: Nothing. Are you feeling well? Can you go to work?
Kota: Yeah. I had some of your cooking, so I’m fine. I’m off.
-
Izumi: Good morning.
Kota: Good morning.
Izumi: Ah, Seo-san. Are you off on weekdays as well? I’ve been hearing noises from next door in the middle of the day, so...
Kota: Oh, no. I just have a friend over.
Izumi: Is that so...a friend. (i love this part bc when he says ““ah. a friend.”” he goes from being nice gentle neighbour to “were it not for the fact that you were a human i would have murdered you where you stand” in like zero seconds, thanks mackey)
[winter telepathy time part 3] Tasuku: (How is everyone, Tsumugi?)
Tsumugi: (To put it simply, I’ve got respect for them. No matter how minute an action is, they can return it, and everyone’s acting is so varied, it’s interesting.)
Tasuku: (Jeez, you’re the one who does that the most and you’re going to say it?)
Tsumugi: (We...started acting so that one day we’d meet Winter, didn’t we.)
Tasuku: (...we did.)
-
Nonomiya: Oi, Seo. You look terrible.
Kota: I just didn’t get any sleep, I guess.
Nonomiya: It’s not just today. You’ve been like this the whole week. That’s when you met that freeloader, right? Something’s just off about him.
Kota: I told you, it’s not Reo’s fault.
Nonomiya: No, he’s too suspicious. I’m coming with you.
-
Franz: Well, you’ve found a nice place to lay your head, haven’t you? Care to share it with me?
Reo: It’s not like that. Don’t interfere.
Franz: Ah, how cold! Isn’t that a part of our relationship?
Reo: If that’s all you wanted from me, then leave, Franz.
Franz I don’t know what it is you’ve become so infatuated with But we cannot—
Reo I know, the sun’s light is too strong ...and yet, I’ll end up longing for it anyway
Franz Hatred of the dark—
Reo I can’t help but wish—
Franz —is humanity’s weakness
Reo —that we’d be able to live alongside each other
Kota: Eh? Reo...who’s that?
Nonomiya: Wait, that’s who you picked up? I knew it, he’s definitely suspicious!
Kota: I told you, he isn’t like that. Hey, Reo!
(i just wanna point out here it’s so funny he goes from :( at nono to the gentlest voice calling out to reo, and nonomiya just loOKS SO PISSED LIKE . HUH? WHAT ARE YOU BEING SOFT AT HIM FOR. HEY.)
Reo: Kota...
Franz: Is that him? Well, he does have a good physique... (franz licks his fangs i hate it so much u all need to know this)
Reo: Franz, let’s go somewhere else.
Nonomiya: They ran off! Those guys are probably part of some criminal organisation or something, right?!
Kota: That’s enough, Nonomiya! But...why did he ignore me...?
Kota Letting you stay in my home Might be unfair
Kota, Reo I’m getting used to having you around You’re a man I just met, only by coincidence But I always want to be with you
Franz: You haven’t been drinking blood much, have you?
Reo: Since I’m staying in his home, I can’t bring myself to drink from him properly.
Franz: Is that not the entire point of this human? Just hurry up and drink already, you’ll die.
Reo: That’s what I wanted to do at first.
-
Kota: Why did you just run away without saying anything...Reo...
-
Franz: Our pursuers are closing in on this neighbourhood. That’s what I came here to tell you.
Reo: Thank you.
Franz: Have you no intention of leaving that house? Surely, at this point—
Reo: It’s fine. It’ll be fine.
-
(kota is asleep on the floor by the couch by the time reo gets back home and thEY ARE LITERALLY SITTING LIKE THE DAMN POSTER HOLDING HANDS AS REO SINGS THE NEXT PART)
Reo Even if it isn’t fair for me to apologise I need to tell you I’m glad I met you So I’ll leave it til the end I want your blood I want it more than anyone else
-
Reo: You’ve been such a great help. I didn’t mean to stay for so long, but I got too comfortable.
Kota: There’s no need for you to leave so soon, since it’s easier on me too, anyway.
Reo: That’s not why I’m leaving.
Kota: Have you found a place to stay?
Reo: Kind of. Kota...thank you.
-
Kota: Oh, Izumi-san. Good morning.
Reo: You...!
Izumi: So you’re moving out? Well, here’s a going-away present.
Reo: Kota, get back! (izumi runs him right through with a sword. a whole sword.)
Kota: Izumi-san?
Izumi: What a shame. It’s only been a little while, but we were neighbours too! (he twists the sword while it’s still in reo, he’s a terrible man and i love him)
Kota: What are you doing?!
(some very excellent sword swinging and mad cackling from izumisan while reo is suffering and falls to the ground. thank you mackey.)
Izumi: Filthy creature of the night. Thou shalt be eradicated in the name of my blood pact!
(kota runs in front of reo.)
Izumi: Out of the way. I’ll kill you as well.
Reo: Stop! Kota has nothing to do with this!
Izumi: Ha! The two of you are friendly, aren’t you. Even though humans are nothing more than meals to your kind.
Kota: Meals...? What are you talking about?
Izumi: He’s a vampire. Humans’ enemy.
Kota: Vampire? Reo would never...! (he backs away from reo for a bit)
Reo: Kota...
Izumi: Now, hand him over.
(kota goes back to reo and protectively puts his arms around him.)
Izumi: Ah, so you’ve debased yourself to the level of an underling of blood. No matter. I’ll send you both off.
(franz jumps from the steps, fending off izumi’s sword with his two entire knives i love stage ver. he even twirls a knife as he talks.)
Franz: Oh, my. I thought I’d join in myself, but it looks like I’ve drawn the short end of the stick. Well, it can’t be helped. I’ll give you a hand.
Izumi: Accursed vampire...
(EXTREMELY GOOD SWORD + KNIFE FIGHT IT’S GOOD THAT’S ALL I CAN TELL YOU THEY’RE EXCELLENT I LOVE THEM)
[winter telepathy time part 4] Tsumugi: (This is amazing, Hisoka-kun. Your movements are far more polished than they were during rehearsals.)
Hisoka: (I don’t even need to think, my body’s just moving on its own. I don’t know why, though.)
Tsumugi: (Maybe it has something to do with your past.)
Hisoka: (I want to face them too...like Azuma...my memories...)
(THIS ENTIRE TIME THEY ARE STILL AGGRESSIVELY KNIFE FIGHTING EVEN WHILE THEY’RE HAVING THIS INTERNAL CONVERSATION I LOSE MY SHIT EVERY TIME)
(franz disarms izumi and kicks him in the face.)
Franz: Want to keep going?
Izumi: Humanity will not yield to your kind. The white blade shall invariably pass judgement upon you! (he runs away like a little bitch but at least he got a real fight this time)
Kota: Reo! Reo!!
Franz: Can you leave him to me?
Kota: But...
Franz: Worry not. He and I are the same.
Kota: ...Fine. Please take care of him.
Franz: There’s a good boy.
Kota There’s no need for you to apologise I’ll give you my blood So please, please Live I don’t want to lose you
(IN AT LEAST ONE OF THE LIVE VERSIONS HE SOUNDS LIKE HE’S STARTING TO CRY AS HE’S SINGING THE LAST LINE. WHAT EVEN IS STAGE NOCT)
-
Reo: Where’s Kota...?
Franz: He’s fine. You don’t expect me to ask him to share some of his blood, do you?
Reo: ...thank you, Franz.
Franz: Since you’ve been found out, you can’t stay here any longer. The next one will be coming along soon.
Reo: What have we done wrong? We only live a little longer than regular humans.
Franz: Anything unorthodox must be eliminated. That’s how humanity is.
-
Kota: Reo!
Reo: This is goodbye, Kota. I’m glad I met you.
Kota: I understand what’s going on now. There’s no need for you to leave!
Reo: Humans like you make even this mundane life worth living.
Kota: Are you just going to live alone like this again?
Reo: This is the fate of my kind.
Kota: ...then, take me with you. (this idiot is really out here on the ground opening his fucking collar i’m sorry i can’t take it here i’m lsoing my shit)
Reo: What...?
Kota: I’m saying I’ll keep you company. I’ll do anything, I’ll even become a vampire!
[winter telepathy time part 5] Azuma: (This distance that we haven’t...that we couldn’t break through until now...after bravely taking a step forward, I feel like we’ve become more connected to each other than ever before.)
Reo: ...Thank you, Kota. Just hearing you say that, I...
aaaand it goes into shoutai here. as always from the wiki
Reo, Kota The truth is I want to bite sweetly into the nape of your neck, and play with the red blood that flows forth Though my instincts may howl for release, I have kept them held back deep inside me If I hated you any more than I do, I would have long taken everything from you To the point that my throat runs dry, my heart has thirsted for it Listening to the tender echo of your sleeping breaths I have begun to learn what it means to fear loneliness
Reo Laughing at myself for letting a human grow on me I walk out into the depths of darkness all alone
(here i genuinely think that reo doesn’t actually bite kota again like he does in the original? like, he just kinda knocks him out and leaves his coat over him like a blanket. which makes me ??!?!!?? like...it feels like it’s really driving home the whole idea that reo doesn’t want to hurt him any more than he already has and i’m bbbhgbhhhb ok)
Reo: Good night, and sweet dreams...
-
Nonomiya: Hey. Hey! Are you alive? Seo-chan?! (SEO-CHAN????????????)
Kota: ...h.
Nonomiya: What, you just overslept? You had me worried since you didn’t show up to work.
Kota: (running around the room) Where’s Reo?
Nonomiya: Reo? (picks up the jacket on the floor) What’s this?
Kota: (clutching the jacket in tears) He...left me behind... (HE STARTS SOBBING ON THE FLOOR)
Nonomiya: Are you okay...? Hey...
(while kota is sobbing on the floor you can see reo at the top part of the stage staring forlornly at the whole thing. i hate it here so much)

Blooming Interviews - Ueda Keisuke (Japan)

Facing the series culmination in the live, what sort of things did you think about?
With the feeling that the crowning glory was graciously watched over by everyone, for us, I really felt that it was a truly blessed ending. And I was facing it with strong feelings like, so long as I do it and display the absolutely finest thing, since it’s the last one, I don’t want to regret it.
In rehearsals, I’m sure the chance for you to think about the productions and company up until now has increased, but if you have one, please tell us about an episode from within that which left an impression.
I cause a lot of trouble for everyone by being unsure if I’d be able to perform in this Final Live, having difficulty schedule-wise, and being unable to participate in many of the actual rehearsals. That why I only have feelings of gratitude towards everyone of the staff and cast that continued to support me. Everyone felt it was the ending in their hearts, but on the surface we didn’t show that kind of behavior until we were standing on the stage. The one who showed the most sadness on the surface was probably Yoshitani-san, I guess? He frequently wiped tears away as he pretended to wipe off sweat from the training with a towel. (Lol) Everyone feeling the corners of our eyes get hot from seeing that state probably left the deepest impression.
On the day of the live, what was the scenery you saw from the stage?
At any rate, from the start, I was extremely nervous. Standing on the Makuhari Messe stage, and despite needing to give the best performance, honestly speaking, I was worried thinking that I was lacking preparation. However, gradually, I was able to calm down and feel that everyone brought me to this wonderful place. I felt from the bottom of my heart that I’m glad I was able to meet Hetamyu and Hetalia.
In the live, numerous songs were presented, but what was your favorite song or a song that left the most impression?
That I was able to sing “One, Two, and Three, Japan, Germany, and Italy” together with Ryoki and Yusuke. And that we were able to sing “Christmas Arrives Anywhere”.
Please tell us about a backstage episode that happened within the live (actual day/rehearsal period).
Yoshitani-san playing the role of Japan and singing several of the songs all the way through on the days I was unable to attend the rehearsals. (Lol) In order to practice on my own, I’d receive those videos and check them at my home, but Yoshitani-san’s performance that was overflowing with love would unintentionally have me laughing, and it was a bit of a hindrance during practice. Lolol
For about three years, you played the role of Japan. What were those three years like?
‘Japan’ as a character is a polite person, doesn’t bring himself out to the front, and is nothing but modest; so through playing that sort of role which honestly seems to be the exact opposite from me, I prepared for the role while thinking of things like ‘just how exactly will I portray this role to the guests?’. I feel like I’ve also surely become kinder by coming in contact with ‘Japan’ during those three years! Lol
During the time you played Japan, what was happiest moment for you?
Let me see, the happiest moment was when, as the Axis Powers, we said “We will drink delicious beer!” while toasting, and when we toasted with everyone underneath the sakura tree. There was a story, and the theme was very peaceful. For myself as an individual and for Japan as well, it was a very happy moment.
Please tell us what ‘Hetamyu’ is to you.
For me as a human and as an actor, Hetamyu is a place where I can become very affluent. It was a place where everyone in the company respected each other’s good points, and conversely, clearly pointed out each other’s lacking points, and were able to lift everyone up together. It would be nice if, once again some day, we were all able to meet and laugh while under a tree.
Finally, please give a message to all of the fans.
Thank you for all the love Hetamyu Forever ♡ Once again, some day… Keisuke Ueda 🇯🇵Japan

pet - A beautiful and tense journey through the peaks and valleys of memories
Winter 2020, Geno Studio - 7/10
Hiroki appreciates the idyllic imagery of the landscape of memories
This season has been bountiful for me and pet was one of the main contributors to this success. Despite my avoidance of tense and emotionally exhausting topics, going through pet was easy. First and foremost, pet was a champ in the department of visual storytelling and I expected nothing less from my favorite director Oomori Takahiro. Whilst I don’t always fall in love with all the stories he adapts into anime, I know that he will never make a show that underestimates its audience and that the story will always have heart. And pet didn’t disappoint.
The main attraction of the show for me is the depth of emotion and the psychological struggles it portrays in characters I actually care about. Of the main foursome, Hiroki was an immediate favourite with his sweet, naive and just nature, followed by an interest in his “boyfriend” Tsukasa, mostly because of the creepiness he exuded but also because he still wasn’t unlikeable - he did really care for Hiroki. Their relationship, of course, was a big draw in itself - immediately intimate and full of innuendo, much like the rest of the narrative around the co-dependency between image users who give and receive peaks from each other (peaks represent the best memory that make up the entire psyche of a human being.) This almost surface-level subtext never disappointed despite all the drama surrounding each other’s value in each of these four characters.
I’m not one to say no to an intense bout of connecting in memories.
In some cases the relationship drama made me sad - because why couldn’t Hayashi prioritise Tsukasa? Why was it always Satoru who came first? It gave me a dark pleasure in some - Tsukasa’s intense need for Hiroki to be with him drowned out his need for Hiroki to be okay. He just needed him around no matter what. In others, it made me stray away from the emotional core a bit - who cares about this supernatural Chinese mafia and their politics? I’m not one for the gangster stories. I need beauty and elegance in my crimes rather than grit. I was also a bit suspicious about the extremely over-the-top vibe in some dramatic scenes. Tsukasa confronting Hayashi felt almost hammed up to me.
At the end of it all, pet delivered a finale that made the uninteresting bits suddenly interesting and made the interesting but confusing bits all the more deep. A lot of the drama was actually caused by the limited emotional capacity of these four, who had a different developmental period than normal people. They couldn’t create their own memories and they didn’t feel their own emotions until someone else came to save them. The nicer, more naive and newer pets like Hiroki and Satoru felt exactly like that - pets. They were not treated as equals and were clearly tricked into all sorts of situations they didn’t want to be in. More importantly, they didn’t even want to think, they didn’t know how to form their own opinions, but despite the lack of basics in emotions, they still grew those. It was easier to see that they were indeed limited in their capacity to not feel (because they felt a GREAT deal) but in their capacity to make sense of it and control it.
The older, cleverer characters like Hayashi and Tsukasa looked well-adjusted on the surface until past halfway, where we could see the cracks in their armor. Hayashi prioritised his younger “child” Satoru, not because he didn’t love Tsukasa but because he thought Tsukasa could have been a lost cause in the hands of the Company, whereas he had been able to take care of Satoru till recently. Thinking back on it, this fact didn’t make me feel relieved for Tsukasa because in the end he was relegated to a secondary position, but it made sense. Hayashi was not cruel, he only had the capacity to prioritize one particular feeling (or person in this case.) He had even thought of Hiroki and wanted to bring him out despite not even having met him but more than anything he had to get Satoru out.
Hayashi’s protective feelings for Tsukasa were more hurtful than warm. After all, he was always the “too.”
Tsukasa, himself, was acting in a lot of scenes but this was not true for all scenes where he was emotional - despite giving the impression. The confrontation scene with Hayashi was as hammed up as the scene where he was putting on a performance for Satoru, but the truth is he was just unable to express himself in a way that was genuine. His emotional baggage was of course far bigger than this. After all, he even groomed himself a perfect pet after he was betrayed by his peak giver. He wanted someone to trust and he could only trust someone who would be on his side unconditionally. His actions (and thoughts) made it obvious that he didn’t see Hiroki as an equal, but the question is was that also his feelings? If anything, Hiroki (and Hayashi) were put on a pedestal and he could not live without them. However, he didn’t really understand how to go about keeping them without thinking about himself first. He had been self-centered for so long that it was impossible to think of anything other than himself. He’d never learnt to.
Tsukasa’s perfect world.
And the Company - I didn’t care about this plotline until the last episode where the connection between Katsuragi and LianLian was revealed. And what a way to end it! Suddenly I was emotionally connected to the evil goon, doing the bidding of his superiors and nothing else the whole season (and he had no gay storyline to boot, so a tough sell for me :)).
The sad ending was coming from miles away - but pet also surprised me in that regard. The ending could be viewed in two different ways. The source material had been a completed manga for a long time until recently, in which case, it looked like the “stupid” ending of the naive pets, looking optimistically into the future, never likely to have what they want. We do now know that a sequel is starting that focuses on the lives of Tsukasa, Hiroki and Satoru after this point, and I, for one, am excited to see a somewhat happy follow-up to this tense but strangely sweet psychological drama. We might end up finding out about more rules surrounding how memories and images work (though that plot itself is not necessarily my main concern.) And who knows? Maybe Hiroki and Satoru will really bring Tsukasa to their peak and Tsukasa will relearn how to make memories and they will live happily ever after. A girl can dream... Though I still must add, the conclusion is a perfect one as it is, not entirely sad, but really just two fool’s dream that we can also choose to believe in.
The peak that bestows hope on all who is destitute
Putting aside the story elements, the show itself is crafted superbly both visually and narratively. The imagery was almost never outright explained but always visible and giving a pleasant rush to me when I noticed them.
Don’t kill the innocent pets! They understand nothing about the evils of the world they live in.
The dissonance between thoughts, feelings and actions of the childish but equally deep main four was showcased well in all dialogues, but especially in the confrontation scene between Tsukasa and Satoru in episode 12. Both characters didn’t suspect they were wrong despite both of them being half-wrong. The pacing of the dialogue allowed both their thoughts and actual words to be conveyed but also showed us in great detail how underdeveloped they were emotionally. Their understanding of those external to them was somewhat complex, it’s not like any normally raised human being can figure out all the things that were happening in that situation, so it was realistic that they wouldn’t understand it all. More importantly, their self-awareness levels were way below the threshold that would allow them to flourish in a cruel environment, surrounded by people who were hellbent on taking advantage of them and seeing them merely as pets. It made for a fascinating watch - the cleverness of it all was the depth of the characters who I’d classify as idiots in a lot of ways. As someone who very rarely enjoys idiot characters, I’d call this experience an orgasmic pleasure.
Takes one to know one.
One last word about Ueda Keisuke, the seiyuu of Hiroki. The genuineness and sweetness portrayed in the character hugely owed to the great voice work of the actor. I had heard him in Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine before as the titular character Heine and noticed his distinct tones, but hadn’t felt anything beyond that. Hiroki’s performance, however, affected me to my core. Looking back on Heine now, I really appreciate the sense of distinctiveness he can grant the characters he plays. Heine was not an attractive character for me, so I didn’t care at the time as his voice fit him perfectly - it was not particularly attractive. With Hiroki, he put on a performance with a completely different range of emotions that retrospectively, I can put Heine together with Hiroki, and see what a great voice actor he is. Here’s hoping for more roles for Ueda in the future! (Apparently he is a stage actor as well, but selfishly, I hope he becomes a full time seiyuu.)
Ask me again in that voice, you sweet little child.
The overall tension and the focus on two young men and their relationship, in addition to the matter of their survival within a gangster world remind me of Banana Fish but I must caveat that I intensely dislike BF for failing to do all the things pet did perfectly - from a genuine relationship and real characters other than the very main character, tragedy as a harrowing storytelling medium rather than the sake of having it there (and without respite,) drama that is not cheesy despite being over-the-top in places (with good reason) and imagery that served the narrative which closed the loop, without leaving any threads untouched.
As the pull of the show is the emotional co-dependency between the male cast for me, I have a hard time narrowing down my actual recommendations for pet. There are so many of them, and they are not necessarily similar to the show in other respects. I will name a few of my favorites here if you are up for gay love/obsession as a theme in tense, non-romantic anime, with characters who aren’t quite in touch with their emotions: Shigurui, Saraiya Goyou, Kenpuu Denki Berserk, and 91 Days might do the trick. Let me know your thoughts!

Fullmetal Alchemist Live Action Movie [Rant]
I finished FMA:B anime like LAST week so I am super sensitive and still on the FMA love boat train thing. And tbh I never had ANY intention of ever watching this movie, but after hearing my friend describe his experience with the movie (he's a NON-FMA-fan and knows absolultey nothing about it) and just not having a good time with it; I had to see it and see for myself just what was wrong with it. And boy-oh-boy, please leave if you were hoping I'd be pleasantly surprised.
It has the bear basics of the character background and the bear basics of the world etc. which is just enough that non-anime/manga fans can just about understand BUT so much is left out. It misses and skips so much of the characters, of the development, of the world. There's just enough missing that also, non-FMA-people will get completely lost and somewhat disengaged with the story too. They really don't establish the childhood-friendness with Winry, Al and Ed, it's super briefed over. The hints about Hommunculus and the reason why they're searching for the Philosopher's Stone is, again, very heavily glossed over compared to the anime. I understand it's only 133 minute film BUT you definitely could've cut some other parts (especially parts that aren't in the anime/manga) in order to flesh out the details and the important parts. Especially in terms of emotional impact.
In the movie version Tucker is protrayed pitiful rather than a bit-shit crazy evil man. So when his dark side comes out, it just looks like a sad, pitiful man and there's no real satisfaction from him being beaten by Ed.
Yamada's emotional performance just doesn't land. The scene about the chimera, you couldn't see much anger or the switch between being happy-to realising what's happened-to getting super fucking angry, and his voice isn't strong enough to portray both his anger and his pain. It just didn't have any emotional impact.
A BIG positive is the setting and the location and such. It's perfect and so nice!
I really hate how heavily CGI'd Al's armour and Ed's arm and leg are. I don't understand why they didn't just build very realistic looking armour, have black clothes underneath so a stuntman/body-actor could wear it as Al and Yamada could've just pwore the armour. I feel like they were actual props BUT you can tell they've put CGI OVER it and it just looked stupid. Japan is well-known for tokusatsu costumes and you could've easily gone 100% realistic with Al's armour and it would've looked GOOD.
They do change the story somewhat but not enough to not be faithful to the original material.
While I do love Atomu, since watching the anime (last week) and actually becoming a fan of FMA, I totally understand and I am now in agreement with my friend that they should've just had the original voice actor for Al in the movie rather than Atomu BUT I do understand in the END GAME why Atomu is needed.
Winry can eff off. I've never liked the actress who plays her and she's in this MORE than she is in the anime. I don't even like the character in the anime so the fact they extended her part somewhat in this just annoyed me.
I don't like Hawkeye's actress or look either. It's clearly a wig. Why couldn't the actress just grow and dye her own hair? It'd look better. But any, recast her please.
Casting I AM happy about: Hughes!!! They picked the perfect actor for him! Even without seeing him in costume, I could tell he was a good choice. BUT, and it's a big 'but', the entire casting in general is too old. They've casted everyone 10-20years older than the actual characters ages. And I totally understand WHY. You need these big names in order to get a big budget, in order to get a lot of funding - I KNOW why Yamada was casted; more for the money rather than for him actually suiting the role <<< lets all admit this okay. I get it. We all get how the movie industry works. Especially with this movie being filmed via Warner Brothers, it was definitely more about 'hire the big actors so we get more money to play with' rather than hiring better, more accurate, faithfully-aged actors. So for the most part I am not annoyed with who was casted because this is the business. It happens. Don't get me wrong, Yamada did alright and he does have the voice which is just nice to listen to. When he's explaining or speaking fast, Yamada sounds REALLY damn good. But I can just think of a few other actors who would've suited, looked and acted the role better (COUGH COUGH UEDA KEISUKE FOR STARTERS!). And like, I LOVE KANATA HONGO but NOT as Envy. No no no no no no no not a good choice. Appearance wise; yes he fits Envy; his looks bratty, his skinny and he's somewhat short but the way he plays Envy and his voice; just no. You'd have better look getting a young actress to play Envy. Yes, I did just say actress. Especially because Envy is supposed to be GENDERFLUID!
BUT in general, I do not like MOST of this casting. I can think of a billion other people who would've been better in the role of Ed (no offence Yamada), I can think of so many more people who would've been perfect for Mustang (he is my baby, they ruined him in the movie; wrong casting completely). BUT then my friend said 'but would they haven't wanted to do this movie?' to which I straight away said 'good point, they wouldn't have accepted the role' and in fact they probably weren't even offered the role because; as I keep saying BIG NAMES = MORE MORE.
Ooooohhhh they RUINED Hughes' death! They CHANGED who the hell killed him!! AGAIN how are they going to fix and work around this in the future movie(s)?!
OMG that is HILARIOUS!!! SO the scene right AFTER Hughes' death we get Atomu-ception! We have Atomu playing a soldier arresting Ed while he stands next to Al who he bloody voices AND the soldier himself have BLONDE hair and just omg... what the fuck?! WHY and HOW did you think that was a good idea Warner?! That's gunna fuck people up for the ending for those who DON'T know Atomu
OH! NOT ENOUGH SMALL JOKES! And to be honest, I don't even think Yamada is that short! I don't think we get enough shots with him standing next to or near other people in a wide shot and stuff for us to go 'OH HE SMOL!'.
ALSO; WHERE THE EFF IS SCAR?!?!!?! WHERE IS SCAR?!?!?!!? He's SO important in the story and you didn't bother to introduce him in the first movie?! His first few fights with Ed are AMAZING! WHY is he not here?! WHY is he not in the movie?!
OMMGGG my friend was right about how BAD CGI and stuff is for Gluttony's real mouth. And his WADDLING! OMG his WADDLING was so funny.
They focused WAY to much on making Mustang and Hawkeye a THING. In the anime, they stay VERY professional for the most part. We understand they have romantic feels for each other but in public 99% of the time (and even in private!) they stay completely professional and 'we have police of this country'-type stance.
WAIT WHAT??!?!?! MUSTANG BURNING ROSS IN FRONT OF EVERYONE?!?! WHAT THE FUCK?! HOW THEY GOING TO EXPLAIN THAT AWAY?!?! WAAAAHHHHH THE ACTUAL?! .... WAIT WHAT?! THEY RUINED THE ENTIRE ENVY PLOT IN THE FIRST MOVIE?!
And I got SO confused when Al started having a go at Ed for 'I'm not real am I' and I'm like 'bitch this part of the story doesn't happen for AGES!!! What the hell?!' Also Lab 5 was just trash in this movie. AND Al goes off only about an hour into the film; we BARELY know these characters. There was no emotional impact at all. Just nothing. We haven't spent enough time getting to know these characters for this scene to work and make people cry at this point.
WAIT WHAT?! TUCKER IS STILL ALIVE AND HAS KIDNAPPED AL AND WINRY?! WTH is this plot line?!?!?!
Okay, kudos to Yamada for his scream acting when the Transmutation circle and the way to create Philosopher Stones are revealed. That was REALLY good.
WAIT WHAT?!?!? They revealed the ENTIRE soul army already?!?!?!!? That's not until like the LAST ten episodes of the anime! WTF.... Ohhh and the CGI for them is NOT good....
I am SO confused.... Mustang took the philosopher's stone out of Lust but that's not how you kill her!! You have to actually DESTROY the stone. If it's not destroyed by FMA RULES she's supposed to be able to reconstruct herself! WTF?! Why are they ignore this very important logic and basic rule?!
Whhhhyyyyyy did Ed use the stone?!?!? WHAT THE ACTUAL?!?! NOOOOO Ed you wtf?!?! That's not even canon!!!! WAAAAAAH?!?!
I wonder who they hired for Al's body... cos that DEFO isn't Atomu! << Again, how is this going to work if voice Al already looked this different to body Al?!
To be honest, FMA is too loved and too long for it to be a series of movies. If FMA was to get Live-Actioned it should've, right from the start, been a stage series. That's the only way they would've fit everything in and done justice to the story, and been able to do projection mapping and be able to go great action scenes using stunts and stunt equipment, and also in general, better and younger actors for the roles.

Oushitsu Kyoushi Haine Musical Report
Sooo... I’m going to make it quick and write about the highlights. Keep reading if you don’t mind spoilers!
The play started with a hymn about the von Grannzreich family. Unlike the anime, Rozenberg (Kimisawa Yuki) appeared right from the start. In fact, he had more appearances than expected. w
What I liked most about the musical is that it was able to squeeze the 12 episodes into two-ish hours without removing important parts of the story.
Among the siblings, Licht’s (Aoi Shouta) part was the longest because they inserted an ad lib in between:
While Haine-sensei (Ueda Keisuke) was seated at the cafe where Licht works, he was reading a report on Kai’s (Asato Yuya) progress.
Kai walked at the middle area of the audience then proceeded to the right aisle. He wanted to talk to one of the audience, but couldn’t so he asked for Haine-sensei’s help. He kept repeating his line (from the audience area) because Haine-sensei wasn’t reacting. In fact, he was trying to stop himself from laughing while drinking from the teacup lol.
When he finally stood up, he proceeded to the left aisle and stood in front of an audience wearing a kimono. He asked, “Who do you like among the cast?” and the lady answered, “Haine-sensei.” Of course, he was happy and repeated to Kai, “She said that she likes Haine-sensei.” While walking back to the stage, he added, “I’m satisfied. (Mazoku desu.)” wwwww
Now it was Kai’s turn again. He asked a lady sitting on the aisle of the third (or was it fourth) row who her favorite is. It wasn’t clear what her answer was, but Kai went ahead and said, “Leonhard? (Daisuke Hirose)” Everyone laughed lol. Then when he heard his name. He asked to confirm, “Kai-ouji?” “I’m happy. Arigatou.” then bowed. He walked to the stage and thanked everyone again. As he exited the stage, he added “I gotta report to Leonhard.” Everyone clapped. ww
Bruno’s (Adachi Yuto) part felt short? Like he didn’t do those speeches in the anime. It didn’t affect the flow of the story, but I was expecting more from it? Though I’m glad they gave more time and focused on Kai’s violent case and the rest of the end part of the story.
As the play ends, they performed Prince Night~どこにいたのさ!? MY PRINCESS~. They danced to the second verse with a new choreography.
As for the curtain call, everybody had the chance to introduce themselves and say a message (including the ensemble).
My favorite part was KimiYuki’s (Rozenberg). After his speech, he removed his hat (I seriously thought he was going to do some magic) and got a Sachertorte (Leonhard’s favorite cake). He said, “Hontou ni ariga-torte.” wwwwww
In the background, you can hear Shoutan (Licht) say, “I’m the one who told him that!” ww
When it was Shoutan’s turn, he suddenly felt shy saying his own joke: “Victor-papa... Victorte.” SO CUTEEE. Daichan (Leonhard) can’t get over the jokes that he kept giggling even if it was already his turn. ww
After the curtain call speeches, they said their goodbyes and walked out... or so we thought. There was a special live where they sang a short version of their character songs.
All in all, it was a good play. The vocal quality was nice and I wasn’t expecting everyone to have such a good voice?? Like I’ve seen them in other stages, but their singing here surprised me a lot (except for Shoutan because he’s already good in that department lol).

Why would you recommend someone to watch the royal tutor?
There’s no easy answer, so I’ll try to be as coherent as possible (by the way, this is the post I made when I’d just started watching the series, so it’ll be fun to see how many things I can add). You should watch OKH if you like:
comedies with a dash of drama: OKH has a wholesome sense of humor, either represented by the princes’ personalities, the main character’s dry wit, or the antics of the supporting cast. (On a personal note, I’m a huge fan of chibi drawings, and OKH makes good use of that.) It also has sentimental moments that aren’t overly sappy or heartbreaking, so it’s the type of anime you can watch that will definitely make your day better.
(^^^ actual image of me at a bookstore)
stories about teachers and students: as a teacher, I’m a big fan of Assassination Classroom because I like the way Koro-sensei treats his students and talks to them, but more importantly, how he listens to them. OKH’s Heine-sensei is pretty much a great teacher, not because he is so overpowered in his skills (he could be a shorter, redhead-version of Sakamoto desu ga?’s Sakamoto) but because his lessons go against the outdated idea that “learning is studying, and studying is reading.” None of that nonsense here.
character development/gap moe: I chose to put these two in the same category because ultimately, it’s about the way characters are perceived. To put it simply, you start with otome-game archetypal, host-like princes, but boy you’re in for a surprise if you think it remains there. By chapter 3 you’ll probably have adopted at least one of these guys as your son (if not all of them).
the “feel” of period pieces: categories like ”period”, “historical”, or “royalty” are a bit tricky in anime, because there’s always a fantasy factor in anything that is especially foreign to Japan. (I could refer to Kuroshitsuji, Kyou Kara Maou, or Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu for references.) Granted, perhaps the richness of the backgrounds could have been better (the anime ran on a tight budget), but the general aesthetics is pleasant, and the music is a good companion to the scenes. It even makes the slice-of-life moments more enjoyable.
stories you want to know more about: the manga is still ongoing, whereas the anime finishes at 12 episodes. Many characters that haven’t been introduced, and some characters get more development in the manga. The ending of the anime has little to no connection to the way in which the manga is going; that, however, doesn’t make it less entertaining - on the contrary, I promise you it makes you want to read the manga even more. It’s got a rather interesting build-up, and enough intrigue to keep you wondering what will happen. So the anime is great in terms of being a “gateway” to the manga. (I’m an aural person, so listening to the voices of the characters also made the little I’ve read so far of the manga even more enjoyable.)
a varied and talented cast: if you’re interested in seiyuu, this one gives you a chance to discover new gems as well as encountering old favorites. Outstanding newcomers include a few stage play veterans, like Heine’s VA (Ueda Keisuke - Yowapeda, K, Osomatsu-san’s Choromatsu, and now he’ll be Hetalia’s Japan), and Kai’s VA (Asato Yuuya - Hakkenden, Diabolik Lovers, Kurobasu, and the F6 version of Osomatsu-san’s Ichimatsu). Outstanding veterans include Aoi Shouta, Morikawa Toshiyuki, Eguchi Takuya, Tachibana Shinnosuke, Namikawa Daisuke, and uncredited names like Hiroki Takahashi (Dmitri), Katsuyuki Konishi (Owner), and Ono Daisuke (Eins).

“Honorable” mention: I’d point out the fan service/shipping moments, but you don’t get many of those. It’s really not that kind of anime. Though I do think that since they’re all really attractive, the ships can sail freely.
So all in all, I truly believe it’s an enjoyable series. I’d have liked to get more than 12 episodes, but sometimes that is enough. Definitely recommendable as it’s something light-hearted, viewer-friendly, and heart-warming.
Thanks for stopping by!

Musical『Hetalia 〜in the new world〜』Visual Shooting Part ③【China · Sugie Taishi】Interview
02-07-2017 | Source
Sugie Taishi was born on 07 May 1992 in Shiga Prefecture. In 2014 he made his first stage appearance in Musical 『Tennis no Oujisama』2nd season as Hitouji Yuuji. After that, he starts to perform more, such as in Musical 『Touken Ranbu』 (as Namazou Toushirou), Musical 『Starmyu』 (as Hoshitani Yuta). We will talk about the two companies that bonds him together.
――The third stage has been announced, it feels like we can hear "aru yo~" again.
I also said "aru yo~"! It has that kind of feel lol I'm so happy to be able to be a part of Hetalia and I'm really looking forward to it.
――Before that, I want to hear your opinion on the previous stages.
China has a deep relationship with Japan, as has been shown many times in the play. As for the casts, we are getting along with each other more and more. I felt it during the first stage, but even until now I can feel the support from everyone. For example, when America and England were practicing, as they used their physical strength and emotion to act, we support them. When (Isogai) Ryuuko-kun was exhausted during practice, Okki (Yamaoki Yuki)-san often brings him water and other casts also give their support in their own way. Okki-san is fundamentally that kind of person, though. In my case, when I practiced singing, Dai-chan (Hirose Daisuke) helps me a lot and Uechan (Ueda Keisuke) also practiced along with me. When someone is exhausted or tattered up, everyone gave their support...... Because we know they have given their best, we support them. The stage is filled with people who work hard and know that "I participate in the success of this stage", so it becomes a very nice company.
――Also, it's amazing how the cast can still be the same as last time.
It's a really fun stage, so everyone wants to take part. And Austria also comes back. I'm happy that I can hear his beautiful voice again. His name changed (※From Kikuchi Takuya, his name as an artist changed to 「ROU」), it's a turning point for him. I wonder if we can see a new Austria? lol It seems I have raised my expectations! On the other hand, Prussia participates for the first time. When J-kun (Spain ・ Yamada James Takeshi) was playing with us for the first time, he said "I appeared alongside a big company, but I can enter this circle with nothing to worry about." I'm really happy when I heard that. That's why, I want Prussia to feel "this company is nice" as well. I personally think the Hetalia company is an ideal one. I had my first debut in April and I didn't expect Hetalia to have the exact same feeling, the chairman has their own Hetalia style and it's good.
――To become friends, are you first going to eat rice together?
We didn't really go out eating together actually. But once we go out, we talk about a lot of things. From random stuffs to things about stage. We have people who don't talk about stage and people who do, a lot of type of people. In this case I think the casts of Hetalia is good at keeping everything balanced.
――Please tell us about your enthusiasm for the third stage.
I still haven't heard anything about the story or how it will be like, but firstly I would like to come back to the original with strength. I want to bring back the China I first brought out in the first stage. I feel like China has changed during the second......, a bit off character. But it was still China. This is the China I have played as, but I want to return it to the original.
――Lastly, please give a message for the fans.
This stage is made up together by kind and hard-working people. The work has a nice feeling to it, so even people who watch it for the first time can also enjoy this musical. Please look forward to it. Please come watch, you will be happy! Cry, laugh, detox! Let it all out!! lol
