A movie you like but wouldn't recommend: Ugh, that is hard... Maybe Keinohrhasen? Feel free to hate me everyone but it has a nostalgic meaning to me. It's still a movie I would definitely not recommend to anyone because it is flawed af.

A performance you think is overrated: Anything ever related to Spiderman or Batman or whatever-man. BIG YAWN.

I just saw that the movie Keinohrhasen is apparently called 'rabbits without ears' in english and it's not wrong but... I miss nouns you can pluck together in english i really do. In german you can make long ass words that are just a bunch of nouns, it's like building a lego house, I used to have competitions with my friends about who can come up with the longest word. Prominent example: Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaftskapitänskajütenschlüsselloch which means (drum roll please) the keyhole of the cabin of the captain of the danube steamboat company Sometimes I wish you could do the same in english and just come up with 5 line words because it's fun and it even makes sense, they lost a whole layer to that title because English just doesn't have this characteristic

The little plot about “great single dad Alfred” and “punk but effortlessly good with kids Arthur” reminds me a lot of the German movie Keinohrhasen (it literally translates to no-ear-bunnies but I swear the title makes sense if you watch the movie lol). It’s a bout this guy who has to do social work hours and ends up in a kindergarten where (of course) the girl he bullied when they were kids is now his superior. They don’t have kids of their own but it’s really fun and sweet with the kindergarten kids around and him interacting with them and like.. the kids knowing they have a crush on each other before they do 🙊 idk I just thought about it and wanted to tell you ☺️

Although I don't think I'd have Arthur be *effortlessly* good with kids.... like the kids would love him, but Alfred would like.... occasionally have an aneurism because Arthur knows very little about kids, and next to nothing about caring for them and the kids would totally take advantage like "Yeah, Papa says that it's great for us to have Mountain Dew before bed! It helps us sleep!" They definitely learn they can get away with stuff like that even more if they exploit the differences between American and British English and Alfred comes home and they're all bouncing off the walls and Arthur's got a "yes this is normal. see? I have done what you yourself would do" vibe and Alfred's like T_T "babe we gotta have a talk... after they go to sleep.... if they ever go to sleep"

Arthur's main talent with kids is that he just treats them like adults? In the sense that he takes the things they say seriously because is very aware of his own ignorance about children, so he figures it's better to listen and... that's all kids really want: adults to listen and validate them. Because he doesn't know anything about them, he's kinda fascinated by them now that he has a chance to get to know these particular children up close. Like... what are these tiny people? How do they function? Why does my chest hurt when one of them cries? And because of that, because he's just as curious about them as they are about him, he doesn't really talk down to them either. >.> so he's effortlessly good at like...... being a person they can interact with for a few hours. Being a caretaker or parent doesn't come so effortlessly, but he's a quick learner and Alfred's a good teacher XD
