the first thing you feel once stirring in the morning is touya shifting underneath you. he moves, clearly not trying to wake you up-- gingerly lifting your arm from his waist before shifting his weight to the edge of the bed.

keigo has a secure grip around your waist, his arms are loose but you know it will be a fight to get out of his hold. he's warm, his breath is hot where his mouth rests against your shoulder blade and the patchy hair on his chin tickles enough to stir you further from sleep.

your eyes flutter open more just in time to see touya lift himself from the bed. his hair is messy, white locks sticking up in random directions and there are creases in his skin from where he lied on the bed in his heavy sleep. he sleeps in just his boxer briefs due to how much he sweats in his sleep and his skin is slightly damp.

you know where he's going. it's the same as every morning since he's gotten home.

the bedsheets have long forgotten the little red fuzzies that used to litter the fabric. instead of scorch marks, the sheets now get soaked in sweat from body heat. keigo still sleeps with his back to the edge of the bed to accommodate for wings he doesn't have anymore, touya fiddles with scarred skin that is still taking weeks to heal.

the three of you knew it was going to be a long recovery time.

you eventually manage to wrangle yourself out of keigo's hold. he continues to snore surprisingly, face shoved into the pillow with the blankets tucked around his ribs. he's become such a heavier sleeper since the war and you're not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

padding out to the living room, the slight chill from the morning alerts you to the cracked porch door to your left. you smell burning tobacco.

touya's morning cigarette.

even though you're dressed in only underwear and a random shirt of theirs, you decide to join touya on the back porch. he's smarter-- he put on sweats and a thin t-shirt, but the sun is starting to rise and soon it'll be warm and nice enough to sit out and enjoy the weather on keigo's day off.

touya holds a turkish royal between his index and middle finger. the lighter-- a silly design of a bao bun on a skateboard is stuck on it-- sits on the wooden railing. a small smile curls at the corner of your mouth. you had gifted him that lighter a while back ago, before the war. he had rolled his eyes at you at the time and told you the design was stupid and childish.

his eyebrow lifts at the sight of you, but he opens up his side and beckons you forward. "what're you doin' up, sweetheart?" he murmurs, his voice rasps as smoke funnels from his nose.

you curl into his side and slide the cigarette from his fingers without much fight from him. his hand slides from your arm to wrap around your waist and pulls you closer into his side. either he's feeling snuggly or he's being sweet and keeping you warm in the early morning chill. he smokes outside-- keigo doesn't like when the two of you smoke inside.

you take a drag before you respond to him. "heard you leave the bed earlier," you mumble back in response. touya grunts and takes the cigarette back from you, tapping the ash over the railing. his body is warm, he smells like freshly lit tobacco and that hard to describe scent of sleep.

the two of you don't speak much more, just continue to share puffs of the cigarette as you watch the sun continue to rise. "blondie keeping the bed warm?" he hums as his chin rests on top of your head. you nod and a chuckle leaves his mouth. "probably only keeping his side warm, more like it."

a scoff is heard from the direction of the doorway behind the two of you, causing both of you to jump. your head swivels to find said blonde in the doorway, hair dishelved and a disgruntled expression slapped onto his face. he's squinting at the both of you, an adorable scowl on his lips and from the distance you're at you can see the little goosebumps appearing on his exposed skin.

"can you two hurry the hell up?" his tone is demanding but the words are phrased like a toddler whining. you half expected him to stomp his foot like one the longer you two stare at him.

touya flicks the butt of the cigarette into the designated ashtray he keeps out on the porch with a laugh that's nothing short of mocking. "someone's clingy."

"piss off," keigo snips back, but there's barely any heat in his tone. he offers one more glare before he turns from the doorway and makes his way back into the house. you know it's your cue to follow. keigo likes to cuddle in the morning-- he's not the same person unless he gets his skin to skin.

touya releases his arm from your waist, patting your hip affectionately. "go on," he reassures you, flicking out another cigarette for himself. the lighter clicks once, twice and then a third time before he lights up his second cigarette of the morning. "i'll meet you both in there when i'm done."

Space and Time (Hawks x reader)

a/n: EEK I'm here with some soft Keigo bc I love that man I've been watching a lot of MHA lately so been thinking about him (and Dabi but shh that's for a later pic) nonstop lately!! This fic is also inspired by the song Space and Time by Tyler Childers, so I highly suggest giving it a listen if you enjoy this fic hehe

Death was part of the job.

This was something the number two hero, Hawks, knew since a kid. He knew that his dream would come with the cost of his life. While that may be a heavy burden for most, Hawks never viewed it as such. He was more than willing to give his life for something bigger than himself. Besides, it's not like there was much left in this life for him.

That was before you came into his life. Slowly but surely you turned his lonely nights into ones filled with warmth and smiles. The usual exhausting drag home from late night patrol now full of excitement as he hurries home to you, hands full as he carries home fried chicken for you two to snack on. Your impact on his life has been massive, bringing beauty to the mundane and peace when the hero suit comes off. He makes sure to always remind you of this too. Always making sure you feel and know his love, now fearful of the day he's not around.

"Kei?" your soft voice snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Yes, _____?" he responds, turning to face you. The two of you were lounging on the couch, your boyfriend mindlessly scrolling through TV channels as his thoughts spiraled until his loving eyes met yours.

"Everything okay? You seemed lost in thought?"

"Aww, worried 'bout me lil birdie?" he teases, making you roll your eyes and giggle. You move to sit in his lap, straddling him as you play with his hair, lovesick smile still painted on his face as he looks up at you.

"Of course I am baby," you begin peppering his face with soft kisses. A small smile forms on your lips as you hear him quietly chirp after each kiss. These soft peaceful moments meant everything to both of you. "I love you!" He melts at the way the words roll off your tongue, like your love for him was a natural fact of life. He wraps his arms around your waist, a surprised gasp leaving your mouth as his feathers reinforce his hold on you. He chuckles at your reaction as he buries his face in your neck, his lips gently kissing your exposed flesh. His hands move from your waist to under your shirt, rubbing circles into your back. You hum in content, eyes closing as peace washes over your entire body.

"You're my entire world," he speaks against your skin loud enough for you to hear. "I love you _____. Never forget it."

Tomorrow is never promised. This is a fact that often plagues the number two hero's mind. However, in this moment, all that matters to Hawks is having today with you.

in a relationship or just in general

note : i am actually am in love with him (also im new to tumblr so not to muchh)

1 .his wings are super sensitive to the touch, especially if he really likes you

2. he's TOTALLY got a love language of physical touch, he's probably a hugger (only with people he likes ofc). wrapping his wings around you as well as his arms.

3. i imagine he's not the best at comforting when it comes to helping, he asks more questions like, 'are you okay', 'do you need water', etc. over and over, mainly prioritizing your mental state rather than giving advice.

4. if you're trying to make a decision that probably isn't the best, he will try to stop you. but if you are being superrr stubborn then i bet he would just give up and support your actions fully though saying that its not a good idea

5. most of the time blowing up your phone, seeing if you're doing okay, asking if you need anything while he's on patrol or what not.

6. most def looks at edits of himself on social media and has a high ego

along with that, he most likely checks himself in his phone camera, or mirrors while walking past them (smiling at that just by imagining it)

7. why do i feel like if you called his name and he turned around super fast and then hitting you in the face with his wings, he would LAUGH in your face

8. leaves his feathers in your pants pocket, purse, bag, just to make sure you're safe

9. as well as a big softie!!! when he's away from his friends and he's just alone with you, he will be super clingy with you. snuggling in ur neck while cuddling on top of you, going up behind you while ur cooking and wrapping his wings around you, with his arms around your waist

I don't really like endhawks and it's not so much because of the age gape or the fan/idol relationship (la brava and gentle have some age gape and bakudeku are the pure description of fanatization/idolization trope and I like both of those ships), but more because endeavor literally embodies what Hawks hate the most.

Hear me out on this one, they have cute interactions but for me the fact that Hawks stayed by endeavor's side even knowing what he did to his children is kinda out of character. I mean the whole thing why keigo wanted to be a hero was to help people and make them smile because he went through abusive behavior all his life. Endeavor do save people but doesn't make them smile, not directly anyway. Hawks wanted to help the new generation, but endeavor traumatized the generation he gave birth to. Hawks wanted to be free, but endeavor stole freedom from his children (at least until he becomes number 1 and shoto comes to UA).

I understand hawks forgiving and accepting endeavor even after what he did, because hawks is so optimistic that he wants to believe eveyone can change for the better, but I don't understand him staying by endeavor's side. I mean, how traumatic would it be to discover that your idol who saved you and gave you a dream to follow did the exact same things as the person who traumatized your childhood? I see some narrative problems here. Or maybe it's just that hawks is too optimistic for his own good.

The thing is, I think Hawks so desperately needed a symbol to give him hope that he didn't even try to look more profoundly into endeavor's mistakes. Like he tried so hard to convince himself. Here we can see that hawks says he could keep up with training and abuse by the commission because someone supported him, probably implying endeavor. But it wasn't even true, hawks just chose to idealize enji because he saved him, but enji didn't know hawks before metting him as a hero, so he couldn't actually support him in his dream. I know it's only metaphoric, but it does mean that Keigo just needed something, someone to hold onto because of all the suffering he went through. And he chose endeavor, who was the only person indirectly "caring" for him.

Now maybe it's because I adore Hawks and I hate endeavor (the man and his actions, not the way he's written), but I can't imagine them in a romantic relationship. How could Hawks give his trust and love to the exact same profile as his father? How could they live together without hawks remembering the abuse? I think that even enji himself wouldn't trust his own reactions and feelings, hunted by the past. "The past never dies", and it's true for everyone in this story.

Look how similar they are. Honestly I don't really understand horikoshi on this one because if he wanted to give enji a loyal sidekick, then why give Hawks an abusive father?

Or if horikoshi wanted to give us grumpy x playful duo, then do it with dabihawks? They had so much potential to be our favorite bickering duo, and their drama would've been so good if they both knew each other before touya's death, became close during hawks undercover mission and then went through a heartbreaking breakup during touya's reveal.

(look at them they could've been soo good as a grumpy x playful duo aah)

Instead, we got Hawks indirectly supporting the same abuse he went through and the destruction of dabihawks' potential with the biggest absence of interactions ever after the first war.

(Also I want to add that I respect everyone's opinion and I don't hate endhawks shippers at all! It's just my point of view on the ship, everyone is free to ship whoever they want if that stays legal 🙏)

Maybe I'm going too far into the analysis (someone stop me please I'm talking too much-), but I really think that endhawks couldn't work, for hawks as much as for enji. Now the interesting thing to ask would be : would dabihawks actually work in a romantic relationship? I guess we'll never know.
