6.88 million have been displaced since April 15, and 37% of the population is facing high levels of acute food insecurity,and the food insecure are in areas affected by ongoing violence. The UN World Food Programme warns Sudan will fall into "catastrophic hunger conditions" next year if the agency cannot provide regular and expanded assistance.
