Pt2Danny Accidentally becomes the Ghost king, the president and the biggest threat to Bruce's social status.
Pt 1 link:
Part 2 Danny becomes the president.
Amity Parkers are the most adaptable people in the world. They're barely fazed by anything.
If you throw them into a situation that they are very unfamiliar with, it'll only take them five minutes to adjust before they start planning on how to live with this situation.
The Amity Parker mindset is: "Oh, I guess this is happening now."
So when the ghosts start attacking? The Amity Parkers immediately look for ways to avoid and protect themselves from the ghosts, not even questioning why ghosts are real. The only thing they think about is, "Damn, there's a ghost. I hope it doesn't attack the theater; I really want to see that movie."
When Phantom had his debut as a hero? The Amity Parkers started looking for ways to help, ways to keep out of his way (some to try and keep him away). The thought running through their minds was, "So this one is trying to protect us? Guess we have a hero now."
Amity Parkers don't spend their time getting mad at the sudden change of routine, the sudden loss of normalcy, or the broken buildings. Amity Parkers don't ask why and how ghosts are real, don't question if all ghosts are evil or if there are some good ghosts, and don't even think of how to get rid of them completely (they're part of the community now). They only look for ways to keep themselves from getting overshadowed. They definitely don't spend time thinking if the ghosts could bring more danger in the future or looking for more information for possible contingency plans. They aren't Batman; they believe that if the present is good, then the future will be better.
Point is, Amity Parkers are resilient and adaptable. They will take everything in stride and focus on the present. So what if some ghosts attack and block the street? They need to get to work, so they'll just drive around it.
After the whole Pariah Dark thing, they become liminal, gaining some form of super strength and glowing eyes (symptoms vary based on how strong the radiation on a person is). A normal human would think, "OH MY GOD, I'M DYING!" The Amity Parkers went, "Oh, cool, this is cool, but now I'm having a problem with opening doors without breaking the knob. Maybe the Fentons could do something about it, make stronger knobs or something."
When some babies started gaining some inhuman features? Some start floating? (Sharper ears, fangs. Babies adapt to things faster, so they get more ecto radiation.) The Amity parents went, "Is there a way to keep my child on the ground without leashing them like a dog?" Then proceeded to make a help blog for other Amity parents dealing with the same things.
So when the ghosts start becoming more of the community rather than enemies, the Amity Parkers just shrugged and asked for a book of ghost customs so they don't accidentally offend them.
When the Fentons started making ghost and human-safe items, no one even questioned why Danny had so much money and was funding his parents' research.
When Danny's name was almost (if not) in everything and he seemed to own most of the town, no one questioned it.
But everything changed when the GIW came again. Even the Amity Parkers weren't expecting this change.
The GIW waltzed in, claiming the liminal town was theirs to play with and started attacking everyone, including the Amity Parkers. The Amity Parkers went full defense mode, protecting the ghosts that were now their friends/neighbors/lovers, making sure that nothing would harm them.
They learned that it was Vlad who called on the GIW. He was pissed and petty that the crown was taken from him and decided to report his liminal town, pretending to be a "concerned mayor" who "wants his people to be healed."
The Amity Parkers were mad... they were furious.
And in the moment they saw Phantom fall to the ground, unconscious, and watched him de-transform from the hero King Phantom to the kid that owns and funds the most helpful companies in town, something changed. Something in the Amity Parkers changed.
Keep in mind that Amity Parkers don't change; they remain the same as they adapt to whatever change the world throws at them.
NEVER ONCE HAD THE AMITY PARKERS DECIDED TO MAKE A CHANGE THEMSELVES.
The first thing they changed? Their mentality. NEVER AGAIN WERE THEY GOING TO LET OUTSIDE FACTORS CHANGE THEIR LIVES. THIS IS THEIR TOWN AND IT WILL STAY THAT WAY.
God help the GIW for being their first victims.
An angry town of liminals, ghosts, and borderline gods, who have access to the Fentons' very destructive and effective technology.
Vs.
The regular GIW humans with anti-ghost tech they stole from the Fentons and nothing against liminals.
The battle was a swift victory, destroying not only the GIW in town but also all of its branches (and Vlad) with almost no traces of them even existing in the first place.
The change didn't stop there, however.
The Amity Parkers banded together with Team Phantom and the Fentons (minus Danny, as he is healing and shouldn't know about their plans; the hero should rest) and took out some of that ghost king money that Danny's trying to get rid of. They crashed the UN meeting while kidnapping the president of America.
The Amity Parkers have decided that Amity Park is theirs; it belongs to the people and its heroes. But how is it supposed to be truly theirs if they have to follow the rules of the country that funded the GIW?
A couple of death threats, bribing, more death threats and more money bribing to make sure the anti ecto acts are gone and the League of Bitches (Phantom called the JL that, and the Amity Parkers decided it was true) doesn't know about it, and a couple of hours in the nightmare realm (courtesy of Fright Knight, who happily participated when he found out what happened), and Amity Park was now its own independent country.
They decided that Tucker was to be a main part of security, letting him put up another firewall like the GIW did to make sure no one knows about their country. They don't want the League of Bitches or any outsider in the King's Haunt. It's theirs now; it belongs to the Ghost King of Amity Park, outsiders be gone.
And when it came to deciding who would be leader? There was no hesitation as they wrote down:
Daniel "Danny Phantom" Fenton, King of the Infinite Realms, King and President of Amity Park.

A couple of years later, Batman, finding hints of a "Lazarus pit" in Illinois, send Flash to look around for anything suspicious. Flash, hyper focused on following his gps, hits a wall, literally faceplants into it.He double checks his map, the wall wasn't supposed to be there. He goes around it, there no way in, no way out. He goes back to batman and reports.
Pt3 soon.

DP x DC idea/prompt Okay Wayne Industries has hired a new employee that's Phenomenal at their job. They have every program and software up to date- everything working smoothly without any interruptions or delay. Only strange thing is no one has ever seen them. They work strictly remotely due to disability. However, they are not on record to exist except for the last few years. Sam, Tucker, and Danny are runaways, running from GIW. They had to leave everything behind to keep themselves, the ghost zone, and their love ones safe. They're too young and have no way of actually being hired without finding out. Thankfully one of them is great at hacking, and he's been dreaming of working there for a while and now he has the perfect opportunity to show his skills AND work for company. However despite all his skills- They don't go unnoticed. A certain Tim Drake and the rest of the Batfamily had already figured out this "new hire" wasn't who he said he was. In fact, they may have found out it was a group of runaway teens before the second week. Now the only question they have, is why? Also Tim thinks its fun to test Tucker's skills and purposely throws viruses his way. Sam and Danny are probably focusing on doing the main shopping/looking out for giw and doing odd things for extra money while Tucker is living his dream.. remotely.. and anonymously.. but hey its the dream and the pay keeps them well afloat. Luckily they found a place that won't ask questions as long as they get the money.
Basically the Bats are keeping this group of teens employed while figuring out why they're on their own. Also while helping anonymously make their mystery employee (s) get better at their documentation by asking for information here and there without penalty. Its become a game, especially to Tim. XD

For Them
About to go to bed and this plot idea came into my head so I'm gonna be quick.
Danny and Dani (or Ellie) are on the run from well... everything. (Bad Fenton parents? Vlad? GIW? IDK pick)
They almost escape into the zone when Ellie gets hit by something that starts destabilizing her. They escape but toss themselves into a random portal that opened up and crash land in a dark gloomy city alleyway. For a moment they think it's okay, they're safe for now but they gotta keep moving. So they do, they run and run into the city until they find a place to finally rest.
It isn't until then they realize what's happening to Ellie. Her body is destabilizing now that the adrenaline she had was going down. She starts panicking and freaking out cause she knows they don't have any ecto-dejecto.
Danny, freaking out and desperate to save her freezes her body with ghost ice to make her stop melting (basically it doesn't hurt her despite not having an ice core but instead kinda puts her in a status)
And it works.
But it sends Ellie into a deep sleep as well.
Danny, stressed and on the verge of passing out from using his ice core (and willing some of his protectior spirit into as well to keep Ellie safe in the ice), looks up when he hears footsteps coming towards him.
He passes out when he realizes the place they had hidden in, a warehouse, had already been pretty cold even before Danny had used his ice powers.
When he wakes up, he realizes hes been moved from the warehouse and freaks out and tries to find Ellie. When he opens his door from the room he was in, hes greeted by cold (but Danny isn't bothered by it) and a man, a Dr. Victor Fries, who just so happened to had been at that warehouse that night looking into stealing some valuable equipment being imported but instead had watched a young, badly hurt teen desperately try to save and have to freeze his 'sister' as she was melting in front of him.

Prompt 263
Once More, we return to Tiamat prompts.
It was a wonderful idea, really! If one of them couldn’t break the barrier, then surely their combined might would do it! And it had! It had worked, even if their remaining humanity was sacrificed. They’d done it, they’d made it where everyone could escape, could leave!
… Except for them. Someone had to close the portal. And it all would have been fine, if not for the remnants of the GIW. One last hail mary from the imbeciles, they all supposed. Trapping them here within the Zone.
Separated from their families, from the pair of children they had agreed to raise. At least their siblings would watch over Ellie and Jordan. Kyle could hide them, make sure they were safe. Jazz… Jazz was gone, the final straw in this plan.
They screamed, they raged, they destroyed in grief for those that didn’t make it, and for those who had but had nowhere to go. No portals opened, even as they tore at the green around them. They fought, any that thought they were weak, that they were merely a beast, an abomination trapped in chains of science and gold.
There was nothing that could be done, Frostbite had said, sympathy in his voice. No way to turn back the clock with how entwined they had become, Clockwork had explained. The only thing they could do was wait, Pandora had tried to sooth, despite it doing nothing.
They wrenched open the coffin in a hazy fury, tearing apart armies like it was blades of grass. Their maws devoured dead who had lost themselves and become mere husks and thralls, lashing tails ripping through armour like it was nothing.
And then as titans, they clashed with the one who had once stolen the city here. There was no desperation from them this time, no armor besides scales unbreakable as flames and storms and ice and thorns ripped islands apart. There was no desperation besides that of their opponent’s.
There was a pleasure in their victory, before it was wrenched away. What use was a crown when their family wasn’t there? When their daughter, their son, their children were not there by their side?
Paulina laughed, hysterical as ectoplasm dripped from her maw as Kwan howled. Their body was covered in it, their rampage that had no use, no reason leaving a trail of destruction behind them. Is this what they wanted?
No.
Danny raised his head from the dissolving corpses to look towards the obliterated roof of the Keep, once so terrifying now turning to dust like the crown. The crown reforming above their heads, heavy and almost choking.
They would carry this weight together. Would restructure things, would do what they had wanted to do for Amity before the Barriers. They’d work together to rebuild the Realms, make it safer, make it safe for those newly dead.
No matter how long it took, no matter how hard it would be to fix the destruction they had wrought in this meaningless battle. (“Danny, you’re the spokesperson,” Sam spoke up, thorn-like scales ruffling. “You’re most familiar with the realms thanks to the Infinimap.” Fair. “We’ll need allies, we’re only nine people.”)
(“Let me talk to the egyptian afterlife,” Tucker sounded exhausted, hood folding back. “I’m most familiar with them… Star, Paulina, you’re both Princess Dora’s favorites-”)
(“We can do it. Just give us time.” “Maybe a to-do list.” “Clockwork. We need to talk to Clockwork, he’d be most familiar with this.” “Rest first, nerds. We’re all… exhausted.”)
(Valerie laughed tiredly, blades melting to heal a broken horn. “Time isn’t linear here Dash. You know that. I know that. For once we’re the ones with time to spare.” It would take years to get things up to snuff. Make things Safe for when they could bring their families here.)
Their eyes opened as the now flimsy chains shattered, a smile stretching across the shared face of their humanoid form. Soon. They could return to the mortal realm soon. Just a little more, and they could see their little ones.  They'd waited a thousand years, they could wait a few days more.

Continuation/blurb/snippet from this writing prompt.
It took less than a week to get custody of the Fenton children.
Oswald expected that it wouldn’t take long with his connections, but even that turn around is faster than what he expected. He'd anticipated pulling strings, greasing palms, maybe making some threats, but before he can even think of getting things moving to do so the paperwork is signed and a social worker is calling him to sort out the travel arrangements for the kids.
It's all done local, the judge, CPS, the witnesses and lawyers, each and every one calling the town home. Each and every one pushing the case through at a speed that Oswald didn't think was possible even in the most crooked of situations. He smelled conspiracy, but not - surprisingly - a malicious one.
Amity wasn't the smallest place in the world, but it was small enough. And the Fentons were public figures, though not in the way that Jack and Maddie Fenton obviously thought they were. How long had the people of Amity been watching things go wrong for the kids? How long had they been trying - in their own, limited ability - to help? Long enough to get desperate, seemed to be the answer.
The only resistance Oswald can find as he reviewed all the information he could get ahold of, was from the Mayor - Jazz and Danny's godfather, somehow more crooked than even Gotham's elected officials as far as Oswald could tell - and the Dr's. Fenton themselves.
The Mayor was summarily denied any influence of the case by the judge on the grounds of the long standing and publicly recorded ugliness of Master's relationship with Danny - which was something else Oswald was going to have to figure out. Along with all the…ghost stuff.
Oswald wasn't sure what to make of the ghost stuff.
Honestly he was leaving it for his people to figure out and wrangle into a reasonable explanation to report to him later. It was…something, a big something, and not - as he'd originally suspected upon initial cursory research into the town - a tourist gimmick or an overly high meta population. A later problem, provided he had to co tend with it at all once the children were officially in his custody in Gotham.
The biggest issue had been the kid's parents. Or really, the biggest issue had been the shady government agency backing the kids' parents.
The Fentons were the Ghost Investigation Ward's pet mad scientists. Creating weapons and genocidal plans - against ghosts - and generally tormenting the towns' living inhabitants just as much as the undead ones. The GIW had been protecting Jack and Maddie from any repercussions of their recklessness, and were willing to butt in on an unexpected custody battle in order to keep their maniacal golden geese happily working away.
From what Oswald had heard, a representative of the GIW had shown up to convince the judge to dismiss the case, but the judge had been faster. By the time the men in all white appeared - garish and tacky in their ill fitted, bulky suits - it had been too late of course. The judge had apparently anticipated their impending appearance and had made their ruling and had everything filed tidily late the night before. Courts did not typically stay running til three in the morning, but apparently an exception had been made.
There were a great many things wrong with Amity Park - wrong in a lot of ways they were in Gotham, wrong in ways they weren't - but the people that called the place home seemed to have come to a decision on one thing: the Fenton children were not safe, and unknown or not they were trusting Oswald to get them out of there.
It was strange and a little overwhelming, for an entire population that did not know him to see him as some kind of hope. Some kind of hero.
There were many, many things wrong in Amity Park.
He tried to assure himself when everything was said and done and the kids were packed and on their way that it wasn't his problem. He was officially Jazz and Danny's guardian, in a city half a country away that even with his - nominally- cleaned up act he held a great deal of power over. He was nearly untouchable within Gotham's shadow, and no one from some half-mad town was going to be able to do anything to change that.
He made preparations though, just in case. He hadn’t gotten where he was by being stupid. The Bat could use something to chew on that wasn't one of Oswald's entirely legitimate business ventures anyway. An ethically suspect government agency that was likely to come sticking their noses in Gotham's business sooner than later would do just nicely for that, and might even earn him some kind of grace from Gotham's brooding knight without getting him in hot water with any of the city's criminal element.
All that was left at that point was actually meeting the kids in person.
His kids.
He ignored the strange, bittersweet ache that touched his heart at that. It was, after all, entirely a means of improving his reputation in the city. The kids mean an end. He'd take care of him the same he did all his people, but not any more than that.
It was just business.
If he reminded himself enough, it might even be true one day.
He suspected though, as he laid eyes on them for the first time - shadow eyed and leery, haunted in a way that ghosts couldn't manage and looking not much at all like Oswald outside the fear and the pain he did his best to forget from his own upbringing - that the point of not caring had been passed the minute he'd gotten that first call.

Apologies if Penguin is out of character, all I know about him is what I vaguely remember from TAS, what I’ve absorbed from fandom and what I tried to put together from a wiki lol.
I did this instead of sleeping last night because I couldn’t get the initial idea out of my head (which slightly defeats the purpose of making it a writing prompt so that I could just read everyone else’s wonderful thoughts and writings on the idea instead of getting side tracked from my other writing projects - again lol - but oh well).
I don’t know if I’ll write anymore, and as with everything else I post this is open for anyone who is interested to run with.

Do you have any good Danny and Vlad fics you can recommend to the viewers at home? 👻🎤
That depends on the story you are looking for but i would recommend:
-Seeing is Disbelieving: ¨Caught in the crossfire between Time and Existence, Danny and Vlad are forced to face the Master of Time, the Defenders of Existence, a new Enforcer, and, ultimately, extinction. ¨
These Cold Days trilogy: ¨After tragedy befalls Amity Park, an injured Danny and his friends must flee with authorities snapping at their heels. As Sam and Tucker try to protect their suffering friend from ghost hunters and himself, they begin to worry why Danny is hiding the truth from them. Why the Fruitloop is madly trying to contact him. And what truly happened in Amity Park...¨ -Miasma: ¨When Freakshow is broken out of prison, he teams up with Walker to repair the shattered scepter that grants the wielder the ability to control ghosts. Together, the two form a diabolical plan and agree to go after the one ghost who has ruined both of their lives¨ -The Crossroads Betwixt Life and Death: ¨Takes place instead of Phantom Planet. Danny is left alone after a 'Nasty' explosion and it's up to Vlad Masters to help the lonely ghost boy pick up the pieces and move on. But along the way, they find themselves entangled in a mysterious plot which could destroy all they have left.¨- TUE timeline AU
I would also recommend reading other stories from History101, they are one of the best writers i have seen when it comes to Vlad and badger cereal.
-Protection: Danny and Vlad are on the run from the GIW and they have to work together to survive and getting captured.
-Second Chance: ¨After an intense battle Danny finally receives the chance he's been waiting for. Remembering a valuable lesson from the past, the young half-ghost confronts Vlad Plasmius once more. But what exactly is our hero trying to achieve with his actions?¨ (One-shot)
How to Mentor a Troubled Ghost Child: Takes place after Bitter Reunions. AU- Vlad tries to be a good mentor to Danny instead of becoming his enemy. One of the best badger cereal fics you can find.
Survival of the Fittest: ¨When Danny and Vlad are fighting in the Ghost Zone, they accidentally go through a portal to the human world... one that leads to the middle of nowhere. They later try to learn who was behind sending them there. Takes place after Eye for an Eye.¨
Playing with Fire: ¨Danny knew something was up when in the dead of night he saves the distressed spirit of a phoenix from being captured by the Guys in White. However, what he didn't know was that by doing so, he was in for one heck of a ride… Now the ghost of some sorcerer has abducted his friends and he's stuck in yet another forest with a certain fruit loop..¨ -Sequel to Survival of the Fittest
Shattered Identity: ¨ Vlad has been shot with a weapon that breaks him down to his very core, more specifically, his ghost core. But before Maddie can shoot Danny with the same weapon, he saves the core and flies off, stuck with making sure he stays safe despite his conflicting feelings about it and tries to keep it from breaking despite not knowing what will reemerge from the unstable core. But as Vlad finally reforms, both of them realize that the core fiasco was just the beginning of a new disaster.¨ Written by mutual Hello-I'm-Not-A-Possum
Paradigm Shift: ¨Danny is snapped out of his dream by Vlad of all people, seeking his help to defeat Nocturne. Though they succeed, Nocturne’s latest scheme sets off a chain of unforeseen consequences that lead toward a future even Clockwork cannot see. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance Danny must face one of the most difficult foes of all: his fellow humans, and the tangled messes they weave with one another.¨ This one is more about Jack and Vlad but it has parts about Danny and Vlad. Okay but hear me out!
Dead On Main Revolutionary Ghost Utena AU:
Canonically, Jason focuses his rage to summon the All Blade
Ghost Prince Danny would have the Ring of Rage, but not the Crown of Fire yet
I hypothesize to you that the two are connected, and not only that, but that wearing the ring allows one to draw the All Blade out of the other. Like, literally.
Because of this, summoning the All Blade of their own accord is the mark of a ghost powerful enough to be the ghost king's betrothed, and whatever other ghosts were in the running are pushed back in line as the All Blade wielder is now at the front.
It is part of ancient ceremony that predates Pariah as Ghost King and dates all the way back to the first Royal of the infinite realms, King Lazarus.
The connection itself is no more than a pull towards each other, a fascination at most to make an easier base to build a genuine and in this case, human connection.
To become actually engaged Jason would have to willingly appear before the Ghost Prince and allow him to draw the All Blade out of him, something he is not very excited for and might actually have other lasting impact besides the engagement.
Y'see Jason isn't a halfa the way Danny is, he came back twice in a short amount of time between those two instances, and while the second time was Lazarus induced, no one really knows how he woke up in his grave and broke himself out. There are theories but Clockwork was watching and even he doesn't seem to know for sure, so it's really anyone's guess.
So what the engagement ceremony could do, potentially, is either solidify his halfa status by sheer amount of ectoplasm transfered by the act, or alternatively it could just kill him on the spot and then he'd probably become a full ghost.
Now, neither of these sound great to Jason, but he also doesn't like that a bunch of ghosts have been trying to fight him for their Prince's hand in marriage, something they can only do while the Prince is still not engaged to anyone.
Meanwhile, Danny doesn't appreciate that as soon as he came of age all these marriage proposals started being thrown at him, he's known some of these ghosts since he was a teenager so that's really weird for one, and he gets that most of them are just trying to secure their happiness and not to mention their future safety as the mortal world seems to be moving on with the anti ecto act, which had lead many a specter to retreat back to the realms, causing a lot of unrest as the realms become more crowded and politically tense between factions who have not needed to interact for a while now.
It would seem the Amity portal and even Danny fighting the ghosts and sending them back through it was the break many of the realms' denizens desperately needed, but now with that option no longer being safe, as even their king can't protect them from the GIW when they're gaining so much support from governments across the world, tensions are running high in the realms and it seems that it's every ghost for themselves.
Danny doesn't really resent any of the ghosts for doing what they feel they must to make sure they aren't destroyed in what is shaping out to be a realms wide war at this point, even as he works overtime with his council to prevent that from happening, and he understands they obviously don't expect any actual marital kind of relationship from him, which is at least a little reassuring even if the idea of being married to any of them is still very weird, but he can't help but think there could be a better solution here that he's missing.
And then he feels it, a pull telling him he's overlooked something, someone important.
It's like a fire engulfing his ice core but not burning it somehow, just as it does not cool the fire around it.
Two opposite forces meant to cancel each other out, somehow instead keeping perfect equilibrium with one another.
He talks to Frostbite and Clockwork and finds out what that pull is and takes their advice to follow it.
Jason doesn't realize he just altered the source of all his recent problems to his location as he draws the All Blade to fend off yet another "challenger to the Prince's hand" whatever the hell that means, as finally one of them was dumb enough to try to use actual magic against him.
However, he soon feels the answering pull back from Danny as the latter decides to use the power in his ring to open the portal, feeling that this candidate should at least know he's coming to talk to him.
It's almost the opposite, he feels the fire of the pit madness flaring a bit, but instead of immediately trying to spread, to threaten to consume him unless he tempers it himself, it is still burning just as strong and wild, but kept in one place by an icy chill, an aura of cold, clear fury and calm in equal measure, it doesn't thaw from the fire anymore than his fire dies from the lack of heat around it.
They sustain each other, impossibly.
So Jason and Danny finally meet and give each other the rundown of their side of things and agree that maybe the best bet to not only stop ghosts from attacking Jason and proposing to Danny, but perhaps the key to overthrowing the GIW so the realms' denizens don't have to afterlive in fear and portals can be reinstated to allow travel through the realms and back, not to mention keeping the GIW from going after Jason himself who by their definition is certainly considered an ecto entity, is in fact to go through with the Ring and Blade ceremony.
Jason, at this point, is more of Earth than Danny, who has unfortunately had to step back from his normal mortal life when he turned 18 to take care of realms business, despite still only being Prince.
He was meant to have more time but with the GIW advancing like they had been it was in the realms' best interest as well as his own that he decree the realms going no contact with humans for the foreseeable future.
It's been nearly 3 years since then and they are still getting ghosts back from parts of the world who have been avoiding humans as much as they can.
As soon as he turned 21 all this ghost marriage nonsense has has been making his job of protecting the ghosts in all the realms a lot more difficult, so when ghosts realized he didn't want to be challenged every day for his hand, they went to the next best thing, the top candidate.
Now, Phantom was saying that he's gonna marry the guy they've all been trying to defeat (and failing, to his credit, so at least he was worthy of being top pick)
A lot of them were upset or disappointed, but he explained how this arrangement could potentially help out everyone in the long run and most got on board when they heard the new plan.
Now the only problem is that getting engaged, as mentioned previously, is a ceremony that could prove dangerous to Jason and "not to be insensitive about it, but if you die and become a ghost that sorta defeats one of the main purposes of us even doing this." Danny points out.
"So what's our plan, Your Majesty?" "It's Royal Highness, I'm not king yet, thank the ancients for that." "Yeah yeah, so what are we doing, Your Royal Whinyness?" "Rude. Anyway, there's a chance you might become a full halfa during the process, that means getting a second form and a fully developed core and powers besides the All Blade, which would be better than you dying. So the best way to ensure that outcome, as much as any outcome can be guaranteed anyway, is to start the process of making you a halfa before the ceremony."
"Okay? How do we do that?" "Well, we gotta get some ecto in you - " "aren't you made of that? This better not be a pickup line" "no, not like that! I told you, this marriage doesn't have to be anything more than a contract, I'm about as thrilled about having to get married to save my people as you are about doing this to stop ghost from kicking your ass on a weekly basis." "Excuse me? I won all those fights!" "Yeah, after getting tossed into brick walls 5 times per ghost" "not every ghost tossed me into walls. Box Bitch did throw crates at me tho, that hurt." "Holyshit, Boxy is not messing around anymore huh? Well, makes sense, he's a father now. He doesn't wanna raise his little girl in these conditions. Still glad he lost, but I'm surprised Lunch Lady even agreed to him trying."
So they start Jason on his ecto diet and in the meantime the batfam is brought up to date about everything that's happening and they get to work, Batman gathers the JL to push back on the GIW's fuckery and all of Jason's siblings have an engagement party and a bachelor bash to plan. The girls decide to plan a Bachelorette party for Danny because he deserves to have a break as well.
Jason hates his stupid family, but Danny seems happy to be part of one again after so long, so he sucks it up and plays along.
It's possible that maybe while preparing and planning and helping each other and working together, Jason has gotten to know and developed a fondness for Danny.
Okay so maybe he's a sappy fuck who fell head over heels in love with him in the span of like a month, but this is still just a contract to Danny, and Jason isn't going to push for or expect anything more. Danny doesn't need that kind of stress in his life rn.
Danny has been freaking out since he met his soon to be husband because holyshit that's Red Hood, that is THE Red Hood! No wonder he passed the trial of the All Blade, and the way that fire burned around Danny's core, a fire he now recognized as the warmth answering from Jason's own, made him realize that this is way more than just a contract to him. Still, he'd been part of the realms for a lot longer than Jason ans he was their future king. Jason as part of this contract would be his equal but until the marriage was sealed, he was still technically Jason’s superior. And it didn't feel right to take adventage of that and suddenly change the terms of this deal, to make Jason in any way feel pressured by Danny's own feelings. No, this was just a contract, like Jason wanted it to be. He would keep that promise to him.
Jazz and Babs get together to help their idiot baby brothers figure out their unrequited love is actually very much mutual pining and they're just being stupid.
Anyway the marriage ceremony is a different ritual from the engagement ceremony, the All Blade wielder summons it and presents it to the wearer of the ring, who sheaths it back into the summoner's core, symbolizing that they both have power over the Blade but it belongs to its wielder, and even the king himself may not keep it without permission. The Blade as a manifestation of Jason's will.
(And as a bonus, we know Jason is a literary nerd so he recognizes and appreciates the romance novel tropes happening to him, especially in the high king's court, but he is not a weeb. So I don't think he'd recognize the Utena references happening to him. But you know who I think would? You know who is a weeb who loves swords and is soooo jealous of Todd and his husband right now? It's Damian. Damian's fucking seething that he doesn't get a magic sword. He's so pissed and it's very funny.)

Part 13- goddamn when you're young
"My heart plays the songs of my lost years. My scars are a church for my old fears. My body's a wreck, but I don't care, I swear. So say a prayer, gotta lift me up, goddamn when you're young in America." -Young In America by Barns Courtney
Masterlist Part 12
Jazz felt the shockwave of the bomb seconds before the sound reached them. Concussive, lethal, far too close as Jazz pushed Jason to the ground, trying to shield him with her body. It was instinct to protect her loved ones, her body was near indestructible after all.
Chunks of wall and metal rained down on them, striking Jazz in the back but not forcing her down just yet, making sure to keep Jason tucked as far under her as possible and cradling his head. The debris hurt but ultimately couldn’t harm her, but they were stuck under until it was safe to move.
“Jason?” Jazz murmured, hearing still sensitive from the shockwave. He was still under her, shallow breaths against her sternum proof he was alive, but Jazz needed to hear his voice.
“Jason, talk to me.” She tried again, this time shuffling a bit to get some debris off her spine that was uncomfortable.
She felt him speak against her, “Jazz.” His speech was slurred so her name came out more like ‘ass’, funny it would be in any other moment, but not now that she felt like one for not being able to protect her boyfriend from what killed him previously. He wasn’t alone this time, Jazz was here and she wasn’t going to let go until she absolutely had to.
“It’s ok, Jay, I got you.” She promised, “We have to move.” Time was running out, just like her faith in this shitty apartment to hold itself together after such a blast. She had to get them both out of here, but-
Her train of thought was interrupted by something warm on her thigh. Jazz didn’t need to guess what it was from the smell alone.
Blood.
It wasn’t hers, no it had the tinge of corrupted ecto to it and held Jason’s scent just on the surface.
Fuck, he’d been hurt.
Jazz cursed out loud and shifted again, forcing debris away from the two of them so she could summon her sword. It was dangerous to rip open a portal from below, but she had no other choice. Thankfully, she was skilled enough to create a directional difference on the other side, so no debris would fall on them and they themselves wouldn’t have to plummet from above.
Channeling her energy towards her hand, Jazz released her hold on Jason’s head as she felt the cool metal of her sword handle settle into her palm, vibrating slightly from being called forth.
Envisioning the Far Frozen, her sword vibrated more strongly in acceptance before she imagined where she wanted the portal and with far more effort that she should have expended, Jazz thrusted her sword into the floor beneath them.
Her beautiful sword, her Faithkeeper, hummed as the fabric of reality was torn asunder and allowed for the Infinite Realms to bleed through, Jazz held her breath as Jason’s muffled scream echoed in her chest as they sunk through her portal to be embraced by winter frost.
It wasn’t easy to let Jason be taken from her grasp, even if it was Frostbite himself who cradled her lover to his soft fur. The Yeti had come bounding across the snow to her side, ready to fight an army but only to be greeted by Jazz’s teary face as she cradled the love of her life to her chest.
Frostbite didn’t say anything as he brought them both back to the tribe.
Tumblr media
Jazz refused to leave Jason’s side even as he was stitched up, gently carding a shaking hand through his dark hair, wanting nothing more than to wrap him up in a blanket and hide him from the world. He had been hurt in her apartment, on her watch, in her haunt. It was unacceptable.
Danny would no doubt be investigating the explosion that had occurred in his haunt, even if Jazz’s tear in reality hadn’t alerted him to the fact that something was very wrong. She hadn’t tasted any corrupted ectoplasm in the air, which the GIW unknowingly used in their weapons post-Fenton death and lack of access to the Realms, but still didn’t eliminate them as suspects.
The question was- Why? If Jazz could answer that then she’d eventually find the culprit and properly deal with them.
(Eviscerate them.)
But not right now, Jason was more important than murder getting on the trail of whoever was idiotic enough to hurt the man she loved.
Tumblr media
By the time Jason woke up, Jazz had zero doubts she would have to come clean about everything spooky going on.
His blue eyes were narrowed In contemplation as he digested her words, her explanation of where they were, what happened, why they were there and so on.
He didn’t seem angry, which she took as a good sign.
“So I’m a Revenant.” The word sounded wrong in the air between them, bitter with the memory of death, his death.
“You were, but now-“
He cut her off, “I’m a Liminal.”
Jazz nodded, softly rubbing her thumb over his hand she held in her own, comforted by the rhythm of his pulse against her fingers.
“And you’re like me?” It was a question, one of hope that Jason wasn’t alone, that someone would understand.
“Yes, I’m a liminal too.” They had time to get into the finer details of their respective liminality, Proto-Cores and all. For right now, the basics were enough.
Jason fixed his gaze back on her, searching her features for something, something he clearly found much to her bewilderment, “You’re Regent.”
It was spoken with awe and sadness. Jason knew what she had done to the Fentons, to her proginators, but he still wasn’t angry.
She didn’t answer him with words, only lifting his hand to her lips to leave a kiss on his palm. Many things would need to be discussed later, but for now they had this moment to rest.
Tumblr media
Frostbite allowed them to stay in the healing tent for a day cycle, content with Jason’s vitals and ecto-levels left the room, but not before sparing Jazz a knowing look as she held fast to her boyfriend. Yes, the old Yeti knew the answers to several questions of hers and it only served to further tie the two liminals together.
Jason, for his part, was calm and resting peacefully despite how his temperature began to fluctuate every so often, not as bad as when he’d first been brought to the Realms though. Further proof that he was settling in well as a Proto-core liminal, but Jasmine still worried every time a shiver ran through him. She didn’t want to invade his space without his consent, especially now that it wasn’t life threatening enough that she had to use her own Proto-core heat, but she still wanted nothing more than to curl into his chest and block out the world.
“Jazz….” Jason mumbled, drawing the Regent back to her love. He was somewhat conscious again, but still ready to be dragged back under.
“Yeah, Jay?” Jasmine responded, hand squeezing his own lightly where she had yet to let go.
Her love didn’t answer, lifting up his opposite arm from the one she held captive and Jazz took the initiative embarrassingly quick to climb over and settle against his side in a familiar fashion as they would on her bed.
(Jazz loved the smell of him on her sheets.)
(Gunpowder, petrichor and something uniquely Jason.)
“‘M sorry, Jay.” The red head mumbled, head resting against his chest right above the steady beat of his heart. There were many things she had to apologize for in this lifetime (and never would), but for Jason she felt they were necessary. He’d been nothing but good to her, watching over her as she walked home late at night, softly reading to her by lamplight, cooking her favorite food… he was her perfect match.
Her soulmate.
Despite how bad she wanted to mock the overused cliche, Jazz could not dispute its validity at any angle other than sheer audacity of it happening to her of all people.
(The one lost in the dark.)
Perhaps it was meant to be, she mused, with her proclivity towards the darkness of mind and soul that her other half would possess a proto-core of shadows. The same ones that hid him, aided him and now gave him life in a completely ironic sense.
(Not dead.)
(One foot in the grave.)
(Cat in a box.)
(What are we today?)
“No.” Jason rumbled underneath her ear in the same baritone she loved to hear. He didn’t say anything more, so Jazz left him to fall back asleep. They would talk more later anyways.
For now, Jazz was left to her thoughts.
Tumblr media
Danny’d been about to take a sip of his milkshake when the ripple of sheer terror came over him, body and core. One that he’d only felt when Amity was pulled into the Realms, when his people were hurt and terrified.
Jazz.
He didn’t even bother to say goodbye to Signal, the Sunshine child startled by Danny’s sudden departure- no he literally started sprinting in the direction of his haunt, where Jazz should be, not even dropping his milkshake as he ran. The meta was probably going to follow him but he wasn’t all that concerned, hell he’d take Sunshine over Stabby any day… but Jazz!
Jazz was in trouble!
The ripple was her effect on his core, a side effect of a portal being opened within the bounds of his haunt. Usually he didn’t really pay attention to it, other than a passing thought that she was back home safe, but terror at the same time? No. Jazz was in trouble and he needed to be there now.
(And he fucking forgot he could fly. )
Tossing his milkshake over his shoulder to where the meta was almost about to grab him by the arm, Danny ducked out of sight and transformed into his ghostly alter, rings of light barely making a complete pass before he was off in the air.
He left a very baffled daylight hero, covered in boo-berry delight, watching him go.
Tumblr media
Duke, not for the first time, had the thought of- Add that to the list of ‘must never let B find out’.
Prime adoption bait Danny Nightingale was prime bat bait because he was a vigilante already.
He’d seen the strange shadow shapes around the teenager ever since they’d first met on a random Gotham rooftop, with Danny lounging on a lawn chair with coffee and a look that screamed he wished for the sweet release of death, but he’d put it down to ‘meta-in-hiding’ and closed the case.
(Not before getting the background on the kid thanks to Oracle.)
It wasn’t the first time his ghost sight had outed a meta and Duke was positive it wouldn’t be the last, but Danny had been the first to have an overlay rather than an aura. Others, metas included, had silhouettes of themselves of colors associated with them as a being. Batman was charcoal grey, Jason was red, Tim was brown and Duke was yellow. Rarely had he’d seen an overlay of something else, something other and familiar to the hero.
Standing over Danny’s shoulder, ever still and watchful with its green, green gaze fixed unflinching forwards was a King.
(A Phantom King.)
Skin tinted light blue as if suffering hypothermia, stark white hair braided across one shoulder with several glass beads tied into the strands that clinked with every shift Danny made in an echo of wind chimes, sharp features set in a neutral expression as if frozen in place. Snowflakes dusted the light blue collar of a black cloak fastened at the collarbone with a shard of ice entrapping a green flame and galaxies lazily floating across the span of the cloak, though with every movement it parted to reveal a white shirt tucked haphazardly into black jeans.
The being wore a crown of green ice on its head that reflected the sunlight.
Duke felt in his bones that should he dare try anything against Danny that he would come face to face with the otherworldly being.
(Why did the being look like a victim of hypothermia?)
(Why was it attached to Danny?)
(And why did he just see a variation of it fly away?)
Tumblr media
It wasn’t until Duke was about to fall asleep some hours later that the realization struck him about what he’d seen standing behind Danny.
He’d seen the future Phantom.
Tumblr media
Phantom frosted over the smoldering embers of what had been his sister’s apartment building, the remnants clinging to a broken frame like a shambling corpse. He’d not been able to hear anyone in need, most importantly he couldn’t hear Jazz though. Her apartment was on the top floor with roof access, but it was empty of life forms much to his relief. Jazz had probably gotten out using a portal.
Phantom lingered for a few moments in the debris of his sister’s home, carefully sorting through for anything salvageable that couldn’t wait. Most of the shelves were furthest from the blast zone so Jazz’s books were going to be fine, though singed and ash coated alongside the contents of her closet, which included a hidden safe Phantom phased a hand through.
His hand touched something glass, thrumming with power underneath his fingers and familiar.
(Pure ecto.)
(What Jazz needs to remain alive.)
Phantom hurriedly retrieved the vials, shoving them into his chest for safekeeping before moving on towards where he suspects the bomb was placed.
It was odd.
He’d been expecting corroded remains of a cannablized Fenton explosive, the ones he’d been familiar with down in the lab, but this was plainly human for even a goopy ghouly ghosty like him to see.
Not a trace of corrupted ectoplasm either, a sure sign of GIW presence due to the nature of their technology. The GIW wouldn’t plant something like this for the hell of it right? It’s not ‘anti-ghost’ in the slightest!
Who else would target Jazz, the most ecto-contaminated being on Earth?
(Unless she wasn’t the target.)
Definitely human oriented explosive, timed and locked firmly into place with what looks to be a steel plate bolted into the floorboards, clearly meant to be left unattended for a long period of time. Delayed detonation.
(Explosives were never his strong suit.)
(But he’d learnt at the knee of Jack Fenton.)
(And so he knew many things he wished he didn’t.)
(What his beating heart looks like.)
(“-molecule by molecule!”)
This wasn’t meant for a liminal being, but for humans.
Either someone targeted Jazz without that bit of extra knowledge or she wasn’t the target.
(Sure looked like it though.)
(Right in the middle of the empty apartment next door.)
Tumblr media
“I’m telling you, his tracker stopped working right there!”
Tim didn’t like going outside most days. The sun hurt his eyes and he hated being swarmed by people.
(Ugh, people.)
Yet, here he was, in the outernet with only sunglasses and a ball cap to ward off pesky reporters on his way to the last location of his most murderous sibling at the edge of said sibling’s territory.
(Tim hated Crime Alley with a vengeance.)
The Ridge wasn’t where he’d ever expect to find Jason, the older man preferring to remain in the Alley if he wasn’t wandering Gotham proper. The Ridge was neglected and crime ridden up to a few months previously, the vigilantes Phantom and Regent claimed the territory as their own to protect. It was kind of awe-inspiring to study the real-time data plummet with their presence, though the big Bat himself wasn’t pleased with openly active ‘Metas’ in his city despite their obvious positive influence.
Phantom was once a vigilante from Amity Park, Illinois, the town that claimed itself to be the most haunted place on Earth. It’s population was halved on its opinion of the ghost, almost split perfectly between generations on whether or not the teenager was a hero or the one controlling the attacking ghosts. With what Tim knew now thanks to the Ghost Files, he was of the firm belief that the vigilante was only defending his haunt from both ghost hunters and ghosts. Major Justice League level threats had been handled by Phantom almost single-handedly, though Batman had been livid to discover that someone had classified the distress calls from the small town as pranks.
(He’d listened to every single one.)
(There was nothing about them that screamed prank.)
(And no, they still hadn’t found who had committed such a fuck up.)
It was fortunate that Phantom was a Protector spirit with all the powers available to him, not to mention the grit and resilience he displayed in every major fight he threw himself into. Mad respect to the ghost boy, couldn’t have been easy.
(Though Tim could never unsee the death and rebirth of that same hero.)
(The scream echoes in his ears when he thinks too hard about it.)
Unfortunately for him, his thoughts screeched to a halt when he found the location he’d been sent to.
A burnt shell of an apartment building held together by Phantom’s ice, firefighters carefully searching for anyone left trapped inside, civilians loitering around like ants at a picnic. No one spared him more than a passing glance, but Tim still noted the weary gazes and tried to get information. No one could say anything more than an explosion happened, with Phantom following close behind to form Ice on the building in an effort to keep it intact, before the ghost kid entered himself and Phantom had yet to leave.
Jason was in the building when the explosion happened, but without a time to match the tracker read out to they wouldn’t know if he’d been killed in the blast, tracker affected by the shockwave or pinned down by debris.
“Hey babs, did Jason have a safe house here?” Tim asked, soft spoken into his phone so as to not be overheard.
Barbara didn’t answer, but Tim had a feeling he wasn’t going to like whatever she said next.
“…in a way?”
“You just answered a question with a question.” He accused, a bit of shock coloring his words. Barbara definitely knew something she wasn’t sharing.
“Jason might have… a girlfriend…”
“What.”
It came pouring out, “Its so cute, they’re so cute. He just adores her and she’s so sweet to him, I’ve never seen him smile so much and he’s so calm-“
“Woah, woah, slow down, Jason has a girlfriend?” If it wasn’t so concerning from his angle, the explosion wracked building in front of him, he would be cackling at the juicy blackmail as only a younger sibling can.
“Mhm, Jasmine Nightingale, twenty years old and applicant for Gotham University currently pending. Younger brother is Danny Nightingale who often talks to Signal whenever Duke crosses his path, obsessed with Space and science, currently attending Gotham Academy. Jasmine has a trust fund allowance from the estate of her presumed dead godfather, but that’s the only thing that stands out.”
(Jasmine and Jason.)
(Tim felt happy for his older brother despite their history.)
“This is her apartment, isn’t it.”
Tim didn’t need Barbara to answer that either, the silence spoke for itself.
“Well, shit.”
Tumblr media
A/N: 3k words for you! @meditating-cat had suggested making the last section more dramatic, but I want to save that for the next part where I want Bruce to react. And now Jason finally knows the truth! I can't wait to write more about him as Hood with Regent out in Gotham.
Yes, beta read by @meditating-cat who also gave me some song suggestions. If you have any of your own please don't hesitate to message me! I love music and often use it for inspiration in my works.
In fact the very last part of this series was written first as a draft before I even made Regent!Jazz or Vigilante!Jazz, because of a Katy Perry song.
It has always been a Hardcover pairing though.
Thanks for reading!

Part 2 Ecto hits the fan
While Tim found the hornet nest that would cause the JL to be up in arms ready to attack the United States government . There was a town in the west of Huntington ky on the ohio side of the river in Amity Park. The young King was looking up at the night sky he was floating high enough that most Ecto weapons wont hit him and if any GIW had a jet packs he would hear them coming with enough time to get away.
He had just turned 16 today and Clockwork has finally told him that he was now the king of the infinite realm. Things were going to happen soon and fast the realms themselves were gearing for war. If things didn’t change soon. Then he, as the king, would have to lead them to battle.
Danny closed his eyes let the light of the stars shine over him. It was getting harder to keep both the humans and ghosts safe from the GIW. They didn’t care who they hurt Star and Wes were still in the hospital from when a stray shot from agent O nearly killed them. If Danny had been a second late they would’ve been crushed by the tree Agent O had shot down. As it was Wes had a broken arm and Star had broken 4 ribs while both of them had a concussion.
Last year his entire class had discovered his identity after an incident with Vlad. They had all started to help him because members of team Phantom. His parents had interrupted Boxy’s and Lunch Lady’s bonding ceremony and now admitted that ghosts were sentient and not all ghosts were evil. He finally told him that he was a halfa two months ago so things were going well at the home front at least.
While his personal life was getting better it didn’t change the fact that he was not ready to be a king and he didn’t want to go to war. Phantom opened his eyes looking at a satellite and wondering if it was the Famous watchtower. Most of the tower had tried to contact the JL many times his first year as a hero. They had thought that the first time was a prank call and by the next call the GIW had started to put up an informal barricade. No other calls had gotten through.
Tucker had hacked their system and found out that by the end of the first year. No information about the ghost were available to anyone outside of Amity and anyone who was in Amity was heavily edited to the rest of the world Amity Parker’s didn’t exist. Danny’s first thought was to fly up to the watchtower himself and tell them what was happening. Sam had stopped him while Amity wasn’t public knowledge the Anti-Ecto acts were publicly available. This either meant they knew and agreed with them or they didn’t know and we’re being kept in the dark. Now he couldn’t leave even if he wanted to it was too dangerous for his people for him not to be around.
His ghost senses went off and he sighed. His rouges had been getting better at not being destructive but The GIW were also out. He looked down to see Ellie running from the GIW. protective rage thrummed through his core
Not My Daughter
He took off like a shot his core screamed as he saw Ellie take a shot to the back. Ectoplasm seeping down her back as she was still trying to get away.
“Papa!” She cried out as she saw him coming.
Dani now called Ellie had finally stabilized and had created a parent- child bond with him. He could feel the echo of pain from that bond.
“Ellie” he cried out looking at the GIW he noticed the had a net. “Ellie look out” he pushed her out of the way the net wrapped around him and a high electric current went through the net. The last thing he saw before passing out was Wulf grabbing Ellie and taking her to safety

Curbed Hunger
Tucker let out a long breath. “Well. At least we know it’s not going to do anything.” “Yeah. ‘Suppressing a ghost’s hunger’,” Sam mocked, “We’re lucky they’re so stupid.” Tucker laughed and Sam grinned, happy to have managed to break the tense atmosphere, if only for a short while. Then she noticed that Danny didn’t join them, and that he had—in fact— not relaxed when the agents left the room and was still standing facing the bars with his hands balled into fists. She frowned. “Danny?” - Or; Danny, Sam, and Tucker gets locked in a cage meant to curb a ghosts hunger. For once, it might have been better for everyone if the technology actually did what it was supposed to do.

Written for Dannymay 2024 day 9 - Hunger
-
Danny slammed his hands against the cage's wall, yelping and swearing when the anti-ghost field burst into life against his hands.
Sam grabbed his arm to keep him from trying the same stupid stunt for a fourth time. “Danny stop!”
Tucker settled down on the floor. “Yeah, save your strength. Maybe I can break it open from here. Do any of you recognize it? Is it one of your parents’?”
The last question he aimed at Danny, who was eyeing the walls of the small cage they found themselves in as if he considered taking another shot at it. Sam gripped his arm tighter and even though they both knew she couldn’t really stop him if he really wanted to destroy his hands against it, he thankfully stepped back and sat down next to Tucker with huff. “No. The force field is similar, but it feels different.”
Sam sat next to them, the cage being big enough to allow them all the space to sit down, but not much bigger than that. “Different how?”
Danny pursed his lips in thought before slowly saying, “More… Active? Even before I touched it?”
Tucker and Sam exchanged worried looks before Tucker said, “That doesn't sound great.”
Danny shook his head. “Didn’t feel great.”
Sam drummed her hands on the floor beneath them. “Is it safe?”
Danny gave her an unimpressed look. “We’re stuck in a cage in an abandoned warehouse in the middle of the night after getting chased by the GIW.”
“I meant the force field you asshole,” Sam said as she punched Danny in the shoulder.
He snorted. “Yeah, I think so? It’s not emitting anything as far as I can tell. It’s more like it’s…”
He trailed off and Sam frowned. “It’s what?”
Tucker looked up from where he had been inspecting what he could see of the control panel stuck to the outside of the cage. “Danny?”
Danny stared off into space with a slight furrow between his brows. Then he seemed to blink back into focus. “I’m not sure.”
Tucker leaned in closer, a frown on his face. “That doesn’t exactly fill us with confidence, buddy. Something wrong?”
Danny tensed when Tucker leaned towards him, at first almost reaching out for him but then he stopped himself and drew back abruptly. “I’m not sure, but I think you should—”
Before he could finish his sentence, they were interrupted by the sound of running feet quickly approaching them in the big and empty room. The approaching people ran through the doorway and Sam wasn’t surprised to see the pristine white suits of the two men who they had been trying to avoid the whole night. Danny got to his feet and placed himself in front of Sam and Tucker.
The younger of the two perked up as his eyes landed on the three of them in the cage. “Look Agent R! It worked!”
Agent R stopped running to level a more assessing look at them, no doubt trying to look professional in spite of the sweat pouring down his face, but he wasn’t able to contain the self-satisfied smirk tugging at his lips. “Of course it did, Agent U.” He holstered his gun, slowly approaching the middle of the room where the cage stood. As if they weren’t any threat. Sam hated that he was probably right.
Agent U laughed and holstered his gun as well. “I just didn’t think ghosts were actually that stupid. I thought you were pulling my leg when you said a pile of rags and a voice-recording would do the trick.”
Agent R laughed with him. “This one just seems unable to pass up an opportunity to play at being a hero.”
Sam got to her feet as well, fuming. “He’s not playing anything. You’re the ones who were willing to pretend that someone was hurt to catch us off guard.”
She knew she probably should just keep quiet; but the anger was bubbling up at their jeers and at the fact that the three of them had all fallen for their tricks. The GIW of all people. They would never live this down.
They just hadn’t expected them to use a voice-recording, simulating a lost and hurt child. Then they had chased them in the direction of the building and trusted that Danny’s empathy would do the rest. And it had. They hadn’t been able to just leave the child alone.
Of course, there was no child and there had never been a child. Just a pile of clothes in the rough shape of a scared child huddled on the ground, Sam thought bitterly as she kicked the small speaker that had continued to emit sounds of crying through the bars and smiled in satisfaction when it hit Agent R in the shin, breaking apart from the force and scattering pieces all over the floor.
He cursed at her, jumping on one foot as Agent U paused with a troubled look on his face. “What should we do about the kids?”
Agent R sent Sam a nasty glare. “Leave them. They're criminals. If they like that ghost so much, let them stay with it. Maybe staying with it until the morning will make them finally realize how evil it is.”
“But what about the force field?” Agent U asked, clearly more worried about innocents getting caught in the crossfire than his colleague. Sam made a mental note not to hit him as hard as Agent R when they managed to get out of here. Then his words registered in her brain.
Before she could do more than open her mouth, Tucker had already taken a small step forward and asked, “What about the force field?”
Agent R smiled, but only in the sense that his lips turned up at the edges; it was devoid of any warmth or happiness. Sam tensed and Danny let out a growl. It just made Agent R’s smile widen. “If the field does what it’s supposed to, they’ll be fine.”
Sam snapped, “What does that mean?!” She was tired of everyone treating her friend like he wasn’t even a person, like he was fair game to try any and all sorts of new inventions on. “What’s it supposed to do?”
Agent R turned to go, but Agent U seemed to feel a bit bad for the two humans caught up in their sadistic game and said, with a reassuring smile on his face, “It keeps ghosts from feeding off of people.”
Sam snorted. “That’s stupid. That’s not something ghosts do.” Then she thought about Spectra. “Most ghosts, anyway,” Sam allowed.
Agent U gave her a pitying look, as if she was just a small girl that was too stupid to see the truth. Sam gritted her teeth against the curses that wanted to escape her throat. It wouldn’t help anyone if she made them angry at them right now.
Agent R gestured for Agent U to join him as they walked away. “Well. This is a perfect time to test it. See you in six hours.”
Agent U jogged to keep up. “But they're just kids. Humans. Can we just leave them in there with a wanted ghost?”
“They're a pain in our side, is what they are.” Agent R waved him off. “Let's see if the field works. And if it doesn't… Well. No big loss.” Then he paused and Sam could hear the smile in his voice from across the room. “Actually. That might be even better. They're known in town to help the ghost, to protect it,” he spat out the words as if they tasted foul. “So if it kills them… Well. People will see it for the monster that it is. And of course, we will step in and subdue it. The town will finally realize that we’re the heroes and stop worshiping this evil trash that’s somehow managed to trick them.” He sent a last scathing look at Danny over his shoulder.
“They will never believe you,” Tucker said, but Sam could hear the fear in his voice. This was bad. Like, really bad. They had to find a way to get out of here, and soon.
Agent R laughed, “Oh, they won’t have to take our word for it.” And then he glanced at the ceiling. Sam followed his gaze and tensed. There, mounted on the ceiling, was a camera. It was aimed right at the cage and the bars surrounding them provided no escape from its relentless recording.
Tucker swore under his breath and Danny tensed even further. The camera meant Danny couldn’t turn human to minimize whatever the force field would do to him. Not without giving away his secret to the whole of GIW, and that was as good as serving himself up on a silver platter.
Agent R laughed and exited the room. Agent U sent them a last look over his shoulder but apparently didn’t feel bad enough about locking two kids in a cage overnight, together with a ghost he thought could kill them, to argue, and then hurried after his colleague.
Silence fell over the three of them.
Tucker let out a long breath. “Well. At least we know it’s not going to do anything.”
“Yeah. ‘Suppressing a ghost’s hunger’,” Sam mocked, “We’re lucky they’re so stupid.”
Tucker laughed and Sam grinned, happy to have managed to break the tense atmosphere, if only for a short while. Then she noticed that Danny didn’t join them, and that he had—in fact— not relaxed when the agents left the room and was still standing facing the bars with his hands balled into fists.
She frowned. “Danny?”
She placed a hand on his arm and he jerked as if she had shocked him. He drew back from her with a slightly strangled, “What?”
Tucker huffed. “Don’t let what they said get to you. They’re morons.”
Danny frowned, lips pressed into a thin line. Sam took in the way his shoulders still hadn’t relaxed, the way he kept the small distance between them. She realized that whatever was bothering him had nothing to do with what the GIW had said. “Danny. The field is actually doing something, isn’t it?”
Danny froze as a look of shame crossed his face. “I—” He hesitated, then turned back around to face the bars. “I’ll get us out of here.”
It wasn’t an answer and they all knew it, but before Sam could call him out on it, Danny had drawn back one hand and slammed it into the bars, once again hissing as the force field crackled on impact.
This time it was Tucker who grabbed his arm to stop him. “Dude, stop!”
Danny tore his arm free of Tucker’s grip, less gentle than he would usually be. “It's my fault we're here. I have to get you out.”
He sounded frantic. Scared. He didn’t meet their eyes.
“Okay. Stop,” Sam said and managed to inject enough seriousness into her voice for her two friends to pause and look at her. “You have to tell us what’s going on. We’re all in here together and we need to work as a team to get out.”
Danny took a deep breath and then seemed to freeze in place, taking another deep breath through his nose.
Sam frowned and said, “Now, Danny.”
“I—I don't—” He blinked as if trying to clear his eyes.
Sam deflated, worry overtaking her annoyance. “... Danny?”
Tucker took a small step forward in the small space. “Hey, man. You okay?”
Danny shook his head, but Sam thought it had little to do with answering Tucker’s question and more to do with trying to fight whatever was clearly affecting him.
“What's wrong?” Sam asked as she, once again, reached out a hand to him.
He jerked away before it made contact, eyes wide. “Stay away from me.”
Tucker took another small step closer, worry clear on his face. “Danny, what's—”
“Stay away from me!” Danny growled out, the sound of it reverberating through the small space and raising the hair on the back of her neck. She sometimes forgot that Danny was as much a ghost as he was human, and he rarely gave them a reason to remember it; this was the first time she could remember when he had acted so aggressively towards them. It made her realize that this situation might be worse than they had initially thought.
“We’re just trying to help,” Tucker said with a frown, and when Sam reached out to stop him from antagonizing Danny further, Danny must have thought she was about to try and touch him again because he let out a hiss and backed into the corner behind him. Right into the bars and the force field surrounding them.
He let out a scream of pain as the field buzzed to life against his back and jerked instinctively forward, landing against Sam and Tucker both as they caught him.
“Shit!” Sam cursed out as she looked him over for injuries.
Tucker did the same, “Fuck, you okay, man?”
Danny just hung in their arms for a few seconds, panting.
Tucker patted him on the back. “Danny. You okay?”
Danny just panted, leaning in even closer to them. Then Sam felt him freeze. He ground out a pained sounding, “No,” before jerking himself back. It was only Sam and Tucker’s combined holds on him that kept him from throwing himself back against the force field.
They both exclaimed in surprise at the sudden action, even more so when Danny then firmly pushed them away from him with a bit more strength than he usually allowed himself to use when interacting with them.
Sam stumbled back, catching herself on the bars and feeling relief at the lack of any painful force field reacting to her presence.
Tucker righted himself beside her, a deep frown now on his face as he took in the way Danny curled up in a tight ball, as far away from them as he could get in the small cage. “What’s going on with you?!”
Danny didn’t say anything, just kept on panting with his face hidden against his knees.
Sam took a breath to try and calm herself down, hoping they couldn’t hear the fear in her vice as she said, “Danny. You have to talk to us.”
“Yeah, man,” Tucker said with a nod. “We can’t help you if we don’t know what’s happening.”
Danny groaned, but finally spoke around his harsh pants, “I don’t know what–” He paused, swallowed heavily. “I can’t–” He cut himself off again, swallowing loudly and letting out another groan, his arms crossing over his head as if to hide himself away.
“Can’t what?” Sam said as gently as she could, desperately quelling the panic building in her chest. Something was definitely wrong with Danny.
“I just want to–” He stopped, his hands on his arms gripping hard enough to turn his fingers white. He swallowed again.
Tucker, voice strained with the same fear as Sam felt, asked, “What do you want to do?”
It probably wasn’t anything good, with how he was acting, but if they didn’t know they couldn’t help him.
“Hey–” Sam started as she inched closer, intending to nudge him. But as she got closer Danny tensed up even more and she paused where she was, remembering his earlier reaction to them touching him. “Danny. Talk to us.” It wasn’t a question anymore.
Danny looked up at that, his hair wild and his eyes unfocused, and Sam understood why he had been swallowing so much. He was drooling; green saliva dripping from his mouth, staining his face and soaking into the fabric of his knees. He closed his eyes and licked his lips before managing, in a voice so strained it sounded as if merely talking pained him, “I don’t think the field suppresses a ghost's hunger.”
“You mean that you feel it?” Sam asked incredulously, instinctively leaning slightly away from him. “You want to eat... What? Our emotions?”
He opened his eyes, and it was the first time his green eyes had seemed so utterly inhuman. They were wide and frantic and so hungry. He licked his lips again, green dripping from his fangs. He hissed out a, “Ye—” before cutting himself off with another groan, “No.”
Tucker hesitantly said, “Maybe if you just took a little…?”
Danny jerked as if he had been struck. When he spoke, his voice was gravel and pain and longing, “What if I can’t stop?”
“I trust you. You won’t hurt us,” Tucker said and Sam wished he sounded more confident when he said it.
“Yeah,” she added with a decisive nod. Reminding herself that this was Danny. It was okay. Still, she couldn’t keep her eyes from following a string of saliva sliding off one of his fangs as she spoke. “Just a little bit can’t hurt and you’re clearly suffering.”
Danny hesitates as if he’s actually considering it, his features slackening into something distinctly hungry, but then he abruptly shook his head with a shudder. “No.”
Tucker frowned. “Danny, you—”
Danny shook his head again before tucking his head and curling back into an even tighter ball. “No!” he ground out from between clenched teeth. It sounded like he tried to convince himself.
Sam and Tucker exchanged a look and Tucker was the first one to break the silence, “This is bad.”
“You don’t say,” Sam said as she took in the tremble in Danny’s whole body, his death-grip on his arms.
“What the fuck are we supposed to do?!” Tucker hissed out.
Sam shook her head, overwhelmed and panicking. “I don’t know.” Her friend was hurt and she didn’t know how to help. Her friend might hurt them and she didn't know how to stop him. Ancients. He would never forgive himself. “We need to find a way out of here.”
Tucker threw his hands in the air with agitation written all over his face. “What a great idea. I hadn’t thought about that.”
Sam scowled. “Then fucking do something about it! Can’t you reach the control panel from here? The force field doesn’t hurt humans.”
Tucker opened his mouth to argue, anger and frustration written all over his face, but then he paused and turned to look at the control panel. He took a deep breath. “I’ll try. Please keep him from doing anything stupid.”
Sam felt her own anger deflate, leaving her with only fear as she slumped where she sat. “I’ll do my best.”
Tucker shuffled over to the bars and reached for a metallic piece of the broken speaker before focusing on the panel with a curse and a grunt of strain at the uncomfortable position it put him in. He used the metallic piece like a screwdriver and Sam left him to it, if there was someone who could deactivate ghost tech on the fly it was Tucker. Besides, she had other things to worry about.
She turned back to Danny who hadn’t moved at all during their conversation. “You doing okay?”
There was no answer.
Sam raised her voice slightly, hoping he just hadn’t heard her over his own panting. “Danny? You with us?”
Again, he doesn’t answer but Sam can see his hands flex against his arms; clenching and unclenching, and huh. Has his nails always been that long and sharp? It’s her turn to swallow as she curses under her breath. “That’s a no then.” She turns to where Tucker is straining through the bars. “Tucker, maybe hurry it up.”
“I’m working on it,” Tucker huffs out.
Sam turns back to Danny to find him staring at her. She flinches at the intent look in his eyes and immediately feels guilty when he shrinks in on himself, making the ball he’s in impossibly smaller.
She tries for gentle as she says, “Hey, you doing okay?” Even though he’s clearly not.
Miraculously his eyes seem to clear slightly at her voice and he blinks a couple of times before managing a strangled, “Y—Yeah.”
Sam doesn’t call him out on the lie as she takes in his trembling. “Maybe you should just…” She threw a glance at the camera. “You know. Change.”
Danny bared his teeth as he twitched. Sam frowned in confusion before she noticed the small white lights appearing around his waist like staticky sparks, never staying for long and far from forming a complete circle. The fear solidified into dread in her stomach as she realized that he tried but couldn’t turn human. Whatever was in the force field clearly messed with his ghostly form enough to trap him in this form.
Danny let out a loud groan that tapered off into a whimper, an animal sound that set Sam’s teeth on edge. She cast Tucker a look, and saw him frozen with his hands through the bars and eyes fixed on Danny. She nudged him and he blinked before getting back to work; no words needing to be exchanged to convey the importance of getting them out stat.
Tucker let out a small whoop of excitement. “Hey, I got the outer layer of the control panel off!” Then he froze as he looked down on the metal casing in his hands. “Oh no.”
Sam tried to peer over his shoulder to get a look at it. “What? What does it say?”
Tucker looked up at her with anger and understanding in his eyes. “Fenton Works.”
Sam swore. “Then of course it does the exact opposite of what it's supposed to!”
They were both startled by the sound of Danny’s voice, drenched in static and sounding as if it rumbled out from his core in his chest more so than his mouth, “You smell like fear.”
They turned with wide eyes to see that Danny wasn’t curled into a ball anymore. He was still hunched over his legs, but now he was balanced on his toes and fingers with his head up, eyes fixed on the two of them. He seemed to have given up on swallowing down the green-tinged saliva and it dribbled down his chin.
Something in Sam’s hind-brain screamed to get away and she froze in place. Tucker beside her gave a strangled yelp. “That—That’s because we are scared, buddy. We have to get out of here.”
“Why?” Danny asked with a tilt of his head, eyes empty, as he inched closer to where Sam and Tucker sat. Danny sucked in a deep breath and it was only then that Sam realized she hadn’t seen him breathe in far too long, a reminder that he could go without for far longer than she and Tucker could ever hope to. And it wasn’t until he groaned and involuntarily leaned towards them that Sam understood why he hadn’t; he had tried not to smell them.
Sam gathered her courage and said, as gently as she could since he had seemed to react well to that before “To help you.”
Danny blinked. “H—help…?” He paused, not getting any closer and Sam let out a shuddering breath.
“Yes. We want to help you. We’re your friends.” She swallowed thickly and added a hopeful, “Remember?”
Danny frowned, squinting his eyes as if trying to see them clearly. There was no recognition in his eyes, no sudden clarity this time, but at least he didn’t come any closer.
Sam spoke out of the corner of her mouth, eyes not leaving Danny. “He’s getting worse.”
“No shit,” Tucker hissed out as he slowly reached back out through the bars to the control panel.
Sam gave a small nod. “Now would be a good time to get us out of here.”
“I’m working on it.”
Their whispers seemed to have finally reached him as Danny bared his teeth and started creeping forward again. Or maybe not the whispers; he was probably reacting to their emotions. That was slightly harder to control though, especially considering their situation.
Danny was an arm’s length away, starting to reach towards her with sharp claws and open mouth and Sam let out a panicked, “Now, Tucker!”
“Not helping,” he said, but a split second later the whole cage shuddered and then the distinct sound of a power-source powering down reached their ears. “I got it!”
Sam threw herself backwards, grabbing Tucker as she went and was immensely grateful that the opening to the cage was behind her and Tucker and that the lock had released when the power shut off. The two of them tumbled out of the cage and onto the dusty floor of the warehouse, and Sam felt the hair on her arms stand on end as Danny roared from behind them.
She scrambled over to her back to face the cage just as Danny leapt out of it, landing on her and pinning her arms and legs to the floor. She instinctively tried to buck him off, but he was unmovable as he leaned in closer; long fangs glinting wetly in the dim lightning.
“Danny!” Tucker screamed, throwing himself at his friend and Sam expected Danny to lash out, to swipe at Tucker, to rip her throat out, and she instinctively closed her eyes and—
And the pressure holding her down disappeared.
She blinked her eyes open to find Danny slumped in Tucker’s arms, eyes lost and scared, but focused on her. Focused on her. She slowly sat up, wincing at the twinge in her arms but if bruises was the only thing they brought out of this nightmare she would count them as lucky. She slowly said, “Danny?”
He blinked. And then sucked in a breath. She tensed. But then he did it again, and again and oh. He was crying she realized as green oozed from his eyes, joining the ectoplasm already on his chin.
Sam slumped back to the floor. She had never been more relieved to see her friend cry.
“Hey, hey,” Tucker said, his voice sounding thick, “We're out. You'll be okay.”
Sam took a second to breathe and then forced herself to her feet. She stalked over to where the remains of the speaker was scattered, picked up the biggest piece and chucked it right at the camera still sitting impassively in the ceiling. It hit it with a satisfying crack and Sam grinned as she thanked all the good ghost-hunting had done for her aim.
She turned back around to find Tucker helping Danny up, both of them unsteady on their feet. Tucker laughed, and it was only slightly strained. “Your whole face is green, man.”
“It’s not funny,” Danny said as he wiped his face with his sleeve, only managing to spread the ectoplasm around.
Sam agreed, but she still couldn’t help the laugh that escaped her; too relieved to have her friend back again. She walked over to Danny’s other side, resolutely not hesitating before grabbing his arm and slinging it over her shoulder. “Let’s go home.”

A DC X DP IDEA #9 The Nightgale’s
Imagine this…
Here we have a three-way relationship between Vlad, Maddie, and Jack. The grandfather Clockwork, the children which consist of Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Dani, and a morally gray Fenton clan. The Fenton’s might be descendants of the witches from the Salem trials but what about the name Nightgale?
It was not well-known knowledge that the name Nightgale is a well-known yet old name in the underworld. If you want information, firearms, drugs, protection, and many more it is the Nightgale that you should go as they have been ruling the underground for the past centuries building up their empire from scratch. Ruthless to those they consider their enemies, and saviors to those who are under their care.
Rogues from different parts of the world as well the rogues that the JL members are having trouble as well they pay their respects to the Nightgale’s as the last example namely the Joker disrespected them in the face, got paler, and found at the inch of death and they never mentioned nor crossed territories with them. Lex who tried his shot, almost got an aneurysm due to the fact that a single member of that family merely got to his most secured safe house and waved a black USB in front of him that will destroy him after a tongue lashing as that person explained in the politest voice, he ever heard threatening his entire empire.
Danny shouldn’t know whether to feel ecstatic or not, on one hand, his parents had accepted him as Phantom, and the number of tears and hugs involved was never to be talked about again. On the other Vlad’s wish came true, how? well, it was when Vlad realized that the reason, he hated his dad for so long is because he was stuck in the pulling the girl’s pig-tails phase. Instead of elementary, it started during their college time together up until now.
Now that both Maddie and Jack knew that both Danny and Vlad are halfas as well realizing his feelings and being added to the family due to the short and small wedding that the three of them had. Vlad revealed that he has children from Jack, namely Dani, and Dan, which sparked an argument between Maddie and Vlad, something he wouldn’t imagine seeing before, about who made their significant other happier or even loved more.
But the problems of the newly made family don’t end there. GIW agents began appearing more frequently and being more aggressive as they leave a destructive path to find Phantom as they believe that he is the most powerful of them all and needed to be eradicated.
Moving to a place where there is an abundance of ectoplasm in the air well-being able to mask their presence as the rest of the members who isn’t a ghost are infected to a certain degree that the GIW considered them as part of the Anti-Ecto laws. Jack told the family to go back to his birthplace as well going back to the family business to protect themselves from the GIW.
Danny had blinked at that statement he thought that the Fenton’s were descendants of witches that survived the Witch Trials and had made their settlement here in Amity when they had initially escaped.
Jack admitted he never wanted such an environment his future family can get into but seeing that their opponent is the government itself he realized that those secrets from his past can now keep his family safe.
He changed his last name to Fenton when he moved city in hope that their enemies may never find the true heir of the Nightgale’s. Ever since he was a kid, he dreamed of living a normal life with a normal family. Don’t get him wrong he loves the family where he was raised but lives a life where everyone will not kill you nor acknowledge you for having a fancy last name. With the support of his family, he embarked on his journey the moment he turned 14, creating a fake identity complete with paperwork that no one would the keenest eyes can make out whether it is real or fake.
Created a nonexistent identity with history in one of the most secluded areas in the world. Secured an identity and was able to intermingle and blend in with the locals to the point he was considered one of them despite not being a local.
Jack explained that being a normal person is quite hard as he was raised in a quite not-so-normal house. When he saw that being a ghostbuster/ scientist is an actual branch of science he immediately took the subject as his cover for his unusual strength, intelligence as well the fact that carries various exotic-looking weapons that can be brushed off as ways to contain ecto-entities.
What he didn’t think through is to be actually interested in the topic to the point he wrote an entire thesis and book about the so-called ghosts. Nor the fact he was able to create a gateway to another dimension on the said subject, married to people who saw and took interest in the said subject, have his son become that said entity as well having an entire family including him to be dead or infected in some sort of shape or form, he still remembers the way he jokingly thought to himself that he only suppose took as a joke as well being a cover seeing that nobody will actually take him seriously or even suspect him as a Nightgale if he took such career path where they were called mad and a joke by the science community itself.
Racing through the roads using the GAV with an injured Vlad and Danny on the tow along with the entire Fenton’s, Jack raced to Gotham with the only people who he thought can help them.
Apparently, Plasmius was caught by the GIW and was in the middle of live dissection when Phantom broke through the door and rescued the Fruit loop, he may still have slight anger issues towards the man for all the troubles he caused for Danny but the fact he was getting better and made his parents happy made him give the Fruit loop one last chance, but he never said that being petty is off the table.
Rushing in without a plan ended up with him being shoot and skewered a bunch of times but it was his supposed step-father’s life on the line here and he wouldn’t dare to give up.
Releasing as well as destroying everything they have on Ghosts is now a requirement to each GIW facility they encountered may also be a factor on why he now has a bleeding shoulder.
Upon entering Gotham borders they were greeted with chaos, Lady Luck was with them that day as well Lady Gotham, there had been a mass Arkham breakout and each Bat is busy containing the destruction and chaos around Gotham that they didn’t see a weirdly shaped vehicle racing through Downtown Gotham.
Lady Gotham had covered the vehicle with her shadows as she had felt her king and his father in great danger and protected the family from his knights and cities by steering away her knights and destroying any cameras that have caught them.
Knocking franticly on a wooden door of a fairly large house at the just edges of the border of Gotham, a lean young man wearing what looks like a butler’s uniform opened the door and was surprised to see Jack carrying a bloodied teen on his arms and an even bloodier man on his back, behind him a multitude of people carrying various emotions like anger, worry, scared and exhaustion in their faces, the mysterious young man immediately ushered the entire group inside the house.
Elias Nightgale never thought that he would ever see his son again, nor he expected to have the first meeting between him as well his grandchildren in such a manner.
He knew the existence of his grandchildren as he and Jack had been exchanging letters sick Jack decided to look at the world.
Barking orders his men to guard the premise as well as the group that came with Jack, calling in each of his men to learn everything that his son looks like has hidden from him because last time he checks he used to have only 2 grandchildren it seems now they have multiplied.
Calling in on a family meeting made every Nightgale member from immediate cousins, aunts, and uncles to their great uncles and aunts as well as cousins who were once or thrice removed.
Never once the entire family ever saw the day the current head Elias Nightgale of the Nightgale family ever called for a family emergency family meeting, so they dropped everything and went to the main base where they were greeted by Jack’s family with clear exhaustion and worry etched on their faces.
Jack began explaining to his dad what he might forget to write in their monthly exchange of letters.
Explaining about the ghosts, his son and spouse, and additional members as well as having an entire branch of government hunting them down just for existing.
It was twice that Jack had seen such murderous rage painted on his father’s space, first when he was tortured and kidnapped by an opposing group and the 2nd one today.
Elias Nightgale as well as the rest of the family are now ready to raid, destroy and raid everything to the ground, but Jazz had stopped them as attacking them might have the blame put on the ghost and have an entirely powered hero after them.
When Danny woke up and had gotten better, he was ushered to meet up with his paternal grandfather. Upon arriving at the study room he took his time to observe each of his family members, he is quite curious when he saw that his grandfather was 6ft at most and now questioned where his dad had gotten his height, but he saw a beautiful yet scarily tall 6 and 12 ft red-haired woman with the brightest hazel eyes he ever saw immediately concluded that she is his grandmother.
They have discussed that while he and his other father were unconscious that it is best to stay at the home of the Nightgale’s to have some sort of protection against the GIW as not only did they have the latest technology but also nobody wanted to mess with the Nightgale’s
Jack’s family is now intergraded into the Nightgale’s completely, despite the black dealings around them they didn’t bat an eye, as they have developed morally grey morals from the past years, they even had their own roles.
Jack Nightgale became the head of weapon making, using a new type of energy while masking the ectoplasm signature of it pose a problem but was able to overcome, now the Nightgale’s now have one of the most dangerous weapons that were ever made and begin strictly monitoring each one.
Maddie became part of the assassination section of the Family Business, with a ninth-degree black belt as well as a marksman made her the perfect assassin that specifically hunts down rapists and child murderers as well GIW agents that dared to hunt down their families.
Vlad Masters who is currently on par with being the richest man in the country focused on his business, as much as he loved his in-laws, he made such that Vlad Co. stays up and running as well as able to thrive. They needed a continuous flow of funds to be able to renovate the house to a mini-mansion to accommodate the small family, complete with built-in security from both humans and ghosts.
Dan began training the guards as well as being one of their heavy hitters, always out with a mission for their family as well the one sent out to check on the family’s business and dealings in and out of the country.
Jazz has a normal job as a physiatrist building her own little clinic near Criminal alley during the day but by night she is one of the best information specialists gatherers. In interrogation is where she blossoms playing the minds of her victims into telling her the information they hold.
Danny began his training in both being the heir of the Infinite Realms as well the potential next head of the Nightgale’s, Danny pointed out that he is the middle child but sadly all of his siblings voted him as the next head of the family.  Training that included weapon handling and execution, using and not using his ghost powers as an advantage, briefings with high-profile people, and private instruction from "constitutional experts".
Lastly, Dani, who is un doubly the best spy there is, able to slip into about anything and able to extract information without alerting their intended target. Having the ability to engage with others as naturally, adaptive, and highly functioning as possible. As a spy, social interaction will take numerous forms, requiring her to be comfortable engaging with people from many walks of life.
Batman sat in front of the Bat computer for an hour still reviewing the new case about the Nightgale’s.
During his teen years, he was saved by one of their own as his ancestor as well as the first holder of the Wayne name had a long-standing relationship between the Waynes and Nightgale’s, thus saving the heir of the Waynes seemed only right and they have already taken the liberty of torturing and killing his parent’s murderer.
As much as he wanted to cut off any ties the Wayne family between to the Nightgale. It is quite impossible as his family has allotted a considerable size of life debts towards the Nightgale’s and opted to merely watch and observe the family.
It has been a year and a half since their activity has spiked as well as the new cruelty towards specific people who all wore white suits with black shades, having been brutally killed before dumping their bodies. They are still killing people in their usual kills as well as the people who had dared to defy them to the point of extreme torture.
It was also been 6 months since he and his entire family decided to investigate the recent killings of the Nightgales.
It has also been 9 months since Red Hood joined and helped the Nightgale’s in the crusade of killing the people who wore white suits and black shades.
It has also been a year since the new students of the Gotham family aka the Adia siblings namely Jasmine, Danny, and Dani Adia became close friends as civilians of some of the members of the Bat-family.
Just what are the Nightgale's are up to and what are the Adia Siblings hiding?
PS: If someone out there wants to continue or make a fic about this you are free to do so don’t forget to tag me though.

Infiltration
What a beautiful morning to wake up and be inspired to commit violence.
DP x DC prompt (spinoff) (or semi-fill ig but it's still more Concept than concrete)
What if Danny didn't get stuck in the thermos by accident, but went into stasis on purpose cuz he'd been seriously injured only to have become trapped, locked away in the Watchtower vault.
What if Team Phantom know the whole time where he is but they can't just contact the Justice League and tell/try to convince them they've got a living teenager stuck in that tube of death magic.
Dani is the only one that can reach her brother, and she can't even do that right.
-
He'd been hurt, really really hurt. Something about how the only way to get close enough to blast the thing he was fighting was to let himself take a hit on the way. A hit that was so much worse than any of them expected it could be and made them have to pull out the mega emergencies only tactic of sucking him into the thermos' stasis just to transport him away and somewhere safe to stabilize and treat.
Except they don't get that chance.
(Or he does it to himself if he's solo, hoping that someone will find the thermos and it'll circulate back to Amity and he'll deal with whatever happens after that. Act now, think later. They saw the thermos on a TV broadcast that covers the JL investigating the battle site to learn it's been picked up by them)
On the way home the Fenton parents saw Sam with a live thermos and got curious, (or it's the GiW, or the JL themselves came a-snooping because of whatever the battle was). Tucker, Sam, and Jazz lied lied lied to coverup who was in there there so they wouldn't open it and find a grievously injured Phantom on their hands ready to destroy before anything can be set up to give medical attention Immediately but they (parents/JL) took it too seriously (and GiW are just the GiW about it) and put it somewhere inaccessible because they just can't risk whatever they caught "seemingly by sheer luck" getting out.
If it isn't in the hands of the "Jerkwad League" from the start, it ends up there for safety. Put away on a shelf in the "dangerous items do not touch" room of the Watchtower. Up in space, untraversably far for any of the three of them.
Dani comes to Amity as soon as she gets the emergency notice and they make a plan.
Well, sort of a plan.
Get up there, get the thermos, come back.
Easy peasy.
Well, the Watchtower is in space, and that's kind of terrifying. She's the only one that could possibly reach him, but she's not sure she can actually survive out in space. She hasn't gone up there before like Danny has and while yes she'd absolutely love to find out... What if she's not?
Worse yet, if she manages to get in but the JL trace and chase, crashing in before they're able to stabilize Danny? Then that's a mission failure too.
It's funny. The thing that can make her brother more excited than a puppy with a treat makes her want to be rooted to the ground.
But she's willing to risk it for Danny, willing to keep these fears to herself because maybe they're nothing. She's the only one that can reach him, and maybe that alone will make it go right.
Jazz gets the truth out of her.
A well timed "Dani, have you ever been out in space?" while she's distracted wondering how she'll recognize the Watchtower rather than some other space junk, and an unfortunately timed voice crack, and all of a sudden Sam and Tucker are reeling and talking about how they'll figure out something else because they're not taking that risk.
Their backup plan takes a lot longer to put in motion, but not one of them will hear another word of her going out of the atmosphere. She's gutted to not be able to do the rescue the way Danny definitely could have, but a louder part of her is relieved.
(Alt: She goes up there, only to find the Watchtower can't be phased into. Either the hull or maybe the vault rooms specifically. Say the govt-funded op that GiW is a subunit within or Fentons having a contract for paint or an alloy or whatever. And/or protective seals from magic users making the only way to get into the vaults be someone opening the door for her but it's more complicated than waiting for someone to do that, wait until the moment they'll leave, then snatching the thermos and fleeing Because Reasons. The others don't blame her cuz phase proof is phase proof, but she's mad at herself that she "Can't do it right")
It's some time before she realizes that while their refusal to have her do it that was is partly because she's their best hope in any plan they come up with and partly because she's part of Danny and if she's gone they lose him all over again, it's really because she's just as much their friend by now too. They don't want to lose her for her. They can't lose her, because that makes it one missing person, and one life lost.
There's guilt there, about the fact she wouldn't have these connections as strong as she does if they still had Danny, (she's not in the space he left but definitely overlapping it). There's guilt, but there's a glow too. That glow adds to the guilt, but it's still there. Her life is better than it was. She pours that guilt into doing this backup plan right even if it means taking arguably, a greater risk.
If she can't get into the Watchtower as a ghost, she's going to need to get into there as a hero.
She's going to need to be public on a worldwide level, and get their trust, and get invited up into the floating tin can of a club house as a junior hero, all without letting on that she is in fact infiltrating them. The others are capable fighters above the human level of course but not Justice League level. And not quickly enough for Danny's sake.
It still takes so, so long. Days to weeks to month to--
Hundreds of hours of fighting with limited powers so they don't know everything she can do to keep the upperhand when the time comes. Hundreds of hours of not knowing what exact door her hurt older-- twin-- younger looking brother is kept behind and having to investigate cautiously on every rare visit she gets so that these adults who think they have all the knowledge in the world don't catch onto her. Of subtly building up the medical wing with things to treat "her", "just in case." Of fearing that everything is going to go wrong wrong wrong at any second.
Until she's finally, finally, got the thermos in her hands, sprinting for the med bay with an intruder alert blaring through the space station about the "theft", phasing through anyone that tries to block or question her.
Until she's there and twisting off the cap and he's there.
He's there.
Dazed and spilling green onto the table and staining her costume after she's dropped the thermos to hold him instead and there.

GIW
part 4 of To Find Rest ao3
It had been three months. Three months! Since the kids had left and Babs could still not find anything on them. She couldn’t even find where they lived!
She had planted trackers on them, because… Well, she had done it, but it had proven useless. She had been able to track them to Wellsburg where the tracker stayed for approximately fifteen minutes before it went offline and hse hadn’t been able to get the signal back since.
She had looked into the towns around Wellsburg but the only one that was about an hour from there was Elmerton and the kids weren’t on any of their school’s records.
She’d tried looking into the kids themselves, but that had also proven unsuccessful. Nothing came up when she searched their names, not in any database. It didn’t even look like they had social media!
It had gotten to the point where she had asked Tim for help, but he hadn’t even been able to find anything. And now he was curious about why she was looking into a pair of kids. At least he had agreed not to tell Bruce.
Babs sighed, she didn’t understand why trying to find two random kids was so difficult. She needed to find them. The longer it took the more worried she became. What if something happened to them?
Her comm buzzed in her ear.
“Oracle.”
“What’s up, B?”
“I need you to look into some information on an organization I’ve come across. I discovered some men dressed in white trying to break into Wayne Enterprises. They were able to get away, but one of them left behind their badge. I need you to look up anything you can find on the GIW.”
“You got it, B.”
She’d do this, and then she’d keep looking for the kids. She just hoped they’d be safe for a little while longer.
—-
These stupid GIW were hard to find. She could only catch glimpses of the name in hidden governmental documents. She couldn’t even find what the acronym stood for! All she could find was that it was an organization that was created during Luthor’s term as president. That raised a lot of red flags, but she couldn’t do anything about it until she could locate one of their bases.
Hopefully, one of the agents would be spotted again so that they could be followed back to their headquarters or at least questioned.
The corner of her screen glitched. Babs frowned. What was— Her entire screen went dark.
She cursed. This wasn’t good. And then it got even worse as a messed flashed across her still dark screen.
‘STOP LOOKING’
Well shoot.
Then her computer started smoking and sparking before it started melting. She could only stare open mouthed as her computer and her entire set up melted into lumps of metal, glass, circuitry, and wires.
What. In. The. World. Just happened?
She reached up to her comm, but all she could hear was static. She took a deep breath before wheeling herself over to a side table that held her laptop. She worked quickly pulling up the program to reroute the comms through the laptop instead of her Oracle setup.
She winced as loud voices came through.
“What happened?”
“Can anyone hear me?”
“Hello?”
“Oracle!”
“Quiet!” she said and blessed silence fell over the comms. Unfortunately, it only lasted a moment.
“Oracle wha–”
“What is the mea–”
“Why did the comms–
“What’s happen–”
“Silence!” Batman said and the comms went silent once more.
“Oracle, what happened?”
“It will be easier to explain in person. Everyone who’s able should come to the Clocktower. Actually,” she paused, glancing at her melted setup. “We should probably head to the Batcave. The Clocktower might be compromised.”
“Do you think the Batcave is compromised?” Batman said his voice level.
“I don’t think so, but I haven’t had time to check, and I’ll need the Batcomputer to look into it.”
“Fine. Is everyone able to head to the Batcave? Robin and I are already on our way and I’ll have Agent A get Signal.”
“Spoiler and I are on our way.” Dick said.
“Heading there.” Cass said.
“I’ll be a few minutes, I need to break up this attempted robbery first.”
“Hood?” Babs asked.
“What do you need me for?” Jason grunted, followed by the sound of gunfire.
“I’m pretty sure everyone is going to want to know what happened, and I can’t be sure what’s been compromised until I check the Batcomputer.”
“Fine. I’ll be there in a few.'' Then he turned his comm off.
She sighed. “I’ll be there in a few as well.” She looked one more time at her melted set up and took a few pictures to show the bats, she wasn’t sure if the footage from the cameras in the Clocktower would still be viable, then she left.
It looked like the GIW were a bigger threat then she’d initially assumed.

amity park vs the arcobaleno
When making the au I was originally thinking about how the Arcobaleno would react to a “civilian cloud” with Danny’s background. Just chaotic good boy doing his best surrounded by lunatics pretending to not care about him or pretending to not be slightly unnerved by his unique reaction to things but I’m currently stuck on how Amity Park would react to the Mafia.
Cause they have seen some shit and are more than a little feral over their resident protector ghost, especially if they had to move to escape the GIW. Not to mention the aftermath of Vlad.
When the ghosts first came, it was Phantom who protected them not the GIW. Their ex mayor Vlad did something to Danny when he went missing that ended in Danny carrying a tiny child back into town looking like he had seen the devil.
( some had muttered about rape, it would have been believable if they hadn’t known Danny was always male. Though knowing about ghostly autonomy it wasn’t been ruled out.)
Phantom was the one grabbing as many as he could out of the GIW labs during their escape. and it was Phantom that warned everyone about the GIWs plans to begin with!
Of course they were going to be protective over the one good thing that happened to them. But! But Danny doesn’t work like that. He doesn’t want praise or protection or apologies for making his life harder when he was already dealing with ducking bullet on the daily.
Danny is a boy who loves the stars and wanted to protect them, so when whey were safe and he was getting antsy for travel of course they urged him to go. quietly, in their own little ways.
It was because of this care for each other that had grown through their struggles that they were more than a little freaked out when Skull came back as a fucking infant.
It’s fine, everything’s fine. They’ve dealt with worse. He came back with stories of the mafia and an explanation for the colorful fire (Dying Will Flames) that had started to spawn on some of them.
Getting Amity Park cleared with the Vindice as a mafia neutral territory similar to Mafia Land took a week. They even made a Famiglia for themselves for good measure!
The Carcassa Family was somewhat hated or feared by the Mafia because of its hand in the organ trade. Many assumed that the organs, which looked much too young to be from an adult, had been taken from human slaves. While it wasn’t illegal by Mafia Law to sell organs it was one of the more darker practices few chose to carry out.
In reality when your body heals quickly due to ectoplasm concentration, you occasionally have to remove organs if they are in the way of healing the wound. Any organs made by ectoplasm will work the exact same as original ones so there isn’t much of a point to being protective of them. After being cleaned of ectoplasm, there is nothing truly stopping one from selling it to a person in need. Really it shouldn’t be their fault people automatically assume the worst out of others.
In the world of Amity Park everything is perfectly fine! So why are these outsiders smelling of heavy death who eye them like they are demons asking for ‘Skull’?
is this another fucking Vlad situation. Wes is already texting the group chat to subtly keep Danny company for a while so he doesn’t have to be alone with these creeps. Hopefully with him splitting his time as human and Phantom they won’t recognize him as Skull. They can’t do anything about the hair but maybe the lack of heavy makeup will throw them off.
if not the school has hidden rooms he can hide in until they give up and leave.

I have come up with a crossover prompt that is somewhat inspired by someone else’s prompt but I can’t removers who it belongs to specifically
So Danny Fenton, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and Damien Al ghoul are all born as al Ghouls. Marinette and Damien are twins with Danny being the prodigy older brother. Danny should be about 4 years older than the twins. When Marinette is still with the al Ghouls her name is Athanasia al Ghouls
Damien is born to be Danny’s spare just in case and Marinette was an unwelcome surprise for everyone in the League except for Danny. Danny ended up being the best assassin he could be in order to keep his mother and grandfathers attention off of his younger siblings as much as he could, but it didn’t always work. As they all got older Danny and Marinette remained close, but Damien ends up believing the teaching of the League while heartily like in canon. Meanwhile, thanks to their bond with each other Danny and Marinette remain suspicious of the league.
In an attempt to keep his siblings safe and give them a better life Danny tries to run away from the league of assassins with the twins coming along with him. At this point I would say Danny is about ten and the twins are about six. Since Damien is still brainwashed he stabs Danny in a way that all of the siblings believe to be fatal and then gives Marinette a change to return to the league. She refuses, and he returns alone. Since both Danny and Marinette believe Danny is dying, Danny tells Marinette to run and to live a life outside of the Leagues beliefs. She does so and ends up hitch hiking her way to Paris while after avoiding the assassins sent after and ends up being adopted by the Dupain-Cheng. But, before she does so she pushes Danny into a river so the Leafue can’t have his body. Danny ends up surviving all of this but he loses his memories. He is rescued by the Fentons who are in the Middle East on a ghost hunt and ent up adopting Danny.
The person who decides to write with this prompt if anyone ever does can pick how the siblings end up reuniting, but I am going to put an option down her so I can continue.
So the years end up passing and Danny, Marinette, and Damien end up living their canon lives. Then one day the Justice league finally has a break from all of the rouge battles and Alien invasions to go through their inventory of calls together. Then they discover that some of the calls that were ignored absolutely should not have been. One of which was Paris. But not Amity Park, because no one believes ghosts could be real. The person who did the ignoring is forced to answer for it and the Justice league is forced to come up with wats to enter themselves to population that do not want them around in any way, shape, or form. So the Justice league decides that if they can’t get anything done in costume then they will have their civilian identities go into the identified city and help that way.
The problem is that Damien was assigned to Paris, and Marinette still thinks that Danny is dead and at Damien’s hand no less. So there is plenty of angst to get from there. Marinette refuses to have anything to do with the monster that killed her brother even if he was once her brother as well. She refuses to believe that a little time spent with their father could change him that much. Meanwhile, the batfamily wants newly discovered sister to let them help her and her city. Also Adrien is not an an ass in this and is dating Marinette. I do not care about her relationship with the rest of the Akuma class so set it up as you see fit.
Meanwhile, Danny wants to find out about his past. The only reason why he was able to keep up with the remade of fighting ghosts and the GIW was with muscle memory he couldn’t remember getting. He was getting more and more stressed until one day he made a wish when he knew he shouldn’t just to know where he came from because he was so tired of everything. He ends up in Paris where he gets a front row seat to Marinette and Damien arguing about his muder. He also ends up getting a splitting migraine from his memories coming back.
Damien and the bats as well as Marinette are looking forward to reconnecting with Danny. However Danny only wants to reconnect with Marinette due to the aforementioned murder attempt and ignoring.
I do not want an easy reconnection between the estranged members of the Wayne family I have been ranting about here. It is fine if they connect eventually but I want I to take time and effort. Please.
Feel free to take whatever bits and pieces of this print you like to write about if you so wish. However, if you do write something with my monster of a print please provide me with a link in the comments do I can read it.
Thanks
.
