My most epic creation yet. No tools, no references, all free flow, 20 hours of work over three days. This was the first spot I created at when I first arrived in Chicago this summer and it is the last spot I'm hitting up before I head back to Texas. My equinox piece. It will likely be washed away manana so if you want to see it tomorrow morning is your best bet! The portrait was done by my friend @heatherscholl who came out to create with me. Had to go put something down for the autumn equinox...finally went back to what got me started working with chalk, the #ABCMandala! After getting the ABCs in I continued the #FlowerOfLife or overlapping circles. I started doing this design to highlight the unrivaled symmetry hidden within the Latin Alphabet. The Hu(e)man in the center points out the 5 vowels. Also the three letters shaped like the number 3 have symmetry also...E at the top, the 13th letter M, & the 23rd letter W. Tons more mathematical and geometric oddities or synchronicities show up the more you study it. Doesn't make sense how an alphabet that took 2,000 years to evolve on multiple continents has this symmetry. Study all you want and no other alphabet has these qualities...it has been in this order over 400 years yet somehow it isn't common knowledge. All the colors are on purpose. RedGreenBlue Additive color Mixing and CyanMagentaYellow Subtractive color mixing. I plan on going back and adding more today & making a video explaining everything better. Last of the footage from the #GrantSkatePark where @roddquinn did a massive owl on an 8 foot tall 35 foot long skate ramp! One of our many 7+ hour creative projects...it was washed away within a couple days but the footage was amazing! I'm omw down to do more around #SouthLoop right now. I wrote a new short poem and put it on the streets last night...it has been years since I've written much but here recently that's been changing. Feels good to be getting my words back after a few years of just expressing myself via visual art & performance art. "What about when it washed away? I'll have a clean canvas and be a better compass. Yesterday's art piece...first time I tried this design. #FruitofLife superimposed over the #FlowerOfLife. Not quite as perfect as I wanted but it wasn't bad for a first try. Had lots of great conversations with people...a nice change considering I had been getting used to wearing headphones. Woke up early to run and get a picture of this early this morning when I noticed there was a chance of rain. Took some pictures & video with my new #Insta360oneX but I can't really access any of it until I get a better phone and laptop. If anyone has either available for sale or trade lmk!
