The Medic #4 - Trent Alexander-Arnold
About the series: The Medic will be an anthology-like series about the reader working for the medical team of the club. Each chapter will feature a different setting/scenario and a different player.
Who: Trent Alexander-Arnold Prompt: becoming overheated during a match on a hot day. Requested by: as voted for by you. Warnings: slight mentions of medical procedures, mentions of fainting.
Tumblr media
With temperatures easily reaching the 30°C, it was always a challenge for you and the rest of the medical team to get everyone through a match or training all in one piece.
Everyone agreed that today's match should have been postponed due to the heat, but with the FA refusing to do so, the team was left no choice other than to step out onto that pitch in the searing heat.
All during the match you kept a very watchful eye on every single player on the pitch, looking for signs of heat stress and making sure they all drank plenty of water to keep hydrated.
Still, despite all your caution and good care, your eye caught something worrying around the 70th minute. Trent suddenly looked sluggish, unsteady on his feet. His hand sometimes went up to his eyes, and you could tell even from a distance that he was experiencing dizziness.
You were just about to advice Klopp to take Trent off, when Trent already stumbled towards you. He dragged his feet, even more unsteady on his legs, and only half aware of his surroundings.
"I-- I don't... feel so good." Trent tripped over his own words. He just managed to step over the touchline and off the pitch, before he collapsed and went crashing to the floor.
"Shit!" You hurried over to him and dropped yourself to your knees beside him. Trent lay on his side, back to the pitch, and completely unresponsive. His heaving breaths were clearly visible, and you pressed your fingers against the pulse point of his limp wrist to feel a racing heartbeat. You had no doubts Trent had become overheated, so you knew your first priority would be to cool him down.
"Get ice bags!" You ordered one of your colleagues who had also rushed to Trent's aid. You reached for the nearest water bottle and emptied its contents over Trent's side to at least give him some cooling already. From a second bottle you gently poured cold water onto Trent's neck. He stirred slightly when the cold water splashed onto his skin and he groaned softly.
"Trent?" You gently squeezed his bicep to let him know you were there with him. "Can you hear me?" Trent groaned again in reply, and slowly his eyes fluttered open. "What happened?" He mumbled weakly. "I guess that heat got a little too much," you smiled softly, trying to reassure him, "just take it easy for a little bit, you'll be fine." Trent rearranged his body somewhat, before giving you a weak hum in reply.
You were relieved to already see Trent responsive again, but he surely was in need of more treatment. He wasn't very lucid yet, and looked like he could faint at any moment again. You splashed some more cold water onto Trent's neck, back and hair, anything to get him to cool off.
At that moment your colleague returned carrying an armful of ice bags. You immediately placed two of them against Trent's legs, another two against his back and one under his armpit. The smallest of the ice bags you gently held against his neck.
"Just take it easy," you spoke softly by means of comfort, "you'll be alright in a few minutes, we just need to get you cooled down a little." Trent nodded feebly. He had closed his eyes again, but you knew he was still conscious.
You sat with him like that for several minutes. His breathing had already become noticeably easier, and his heart rate, which you checked regularly, also calmed down significantly.
"How're you feeling?" You asked after a few more minutes. Trent stirred minutely against the ice pack you still had loosely pressed against his neck. "Better," he mumbled. "Do you want to try sitting up?" You suggested, gently resting a hand on his shoulder. Trent took a slow, deep breath, but finally nodded. "Yeah."
You kept a close eye on him as Trent slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position. The frown in discomfort, the almost unnoticeable tremor in his muscles and the still clammy look of his skin, nothing went unnoticed by you. You hovered your hand behind his back in case he would go back down after all again, but you were glad to see Trent sit up quite steadily eventually.
"Good?" You asked, as you handed him a bottle of cold water. Trent passed a hand over his face and gratefully took a sip of the water. "Bit shaky, but I think I'm good." "I'd like to move you inside and out of this heat completely," you continued. "I can do that," Trent nodded. He held out his arms, signaling that he might need some help getting to his feet.
You pulled Trent to his feet. He stood swaying a little at first, but within seconds looked comfortable on his feet. "We'll just take it slow," you guided, "and if you feel like anything is wrong, even the slightest thing, we'll stop, okay?"
Trent nodded to show he understood. "Thank you for being with me just now." You smiled softly. "You're welcome, but that's my job." "I know." Trent shrugged as you slowly made the walk back inside. "But you could have handled this with a lot less compassion. You really helped me stay calm and feel safe."
You went slightly red in the face at his compliment. "Uh... thank you," you stammered, maybe for the first time ever being lost for words. Not only was this a bit show of gratitude for your work, it also showed you that Trent was definitely starting to feel better. And Trent being okay, was the only thing that really mattered to you.

If you're fat and tend/preferto wear long sleeves/pants/skirts for any reason (religious reasons, personal modesty reasons, don't like the way you look in short things, don't like the way you feel in short things, have a tendency towards stims or habits that don't mesh well with short sleeves like skin-picking, etc.), here are my tips:
Don't let anyone tell you that you shouldn't be doing that. You are always, always, ALWAYS allowed to wear whatever you want, be it tube tops and Daisy Dukes or parachute pants and high-necked blouses. You are not required to cover up if you don't want to, but you're also not required to expose anything you don't want to expose. Your body, your rules.
Natural fabric is ALWAYS the way to go. Cotton, linen, silk. Wool can be surprisingly cool, too - it's not always winter-thick! Polyester is nobody's friend.
Loose-fitting clothes help keep you cooler. Lighter colors are also better at reflecting heat, so keep that in mind. I find I'm cooler in a loose-fitting long-sleeved t-shirt than I ever was in a black cap-sleeved shirt with my skin exposed to direct sunlight, but that's me.
You still need sunscreen on the parts of your skin that aren't covered. You also want to go a little bit under the edges of where it is covered, especially if there's no overlap. (For instance, I don't generally put it on my legs/ankles because I wear boots and crew socks and my pant legs come down over the tops of both, so there's no chance of the skin down there being exposed, but I DO make sure to get my wrists, just in case my sleeves ride up.) Also get under your collar. If your weight is doing awkward things and your shirts are riding up while your pants are falling down, put sunscreen along your waistline even if you think it's going to be covered. Don't forget your ears.
On a somewhat related note: The palms of your hands don't tan, but they can burn, so make sure you rub some sunscreen into them, too.
With regards to hydration: Set yourself rules for how often you'll take a drink. When I go to baseball games, my rule is that I have to take a drink at least every three batters, and between each inning. (That being said, don't force yourself to WAIT for those conditions - drink whenever you think you need to! I just learned to set those rules because I don't think I need to, and then I end up with heat exhaustion.)
On the topic of sweating: If you are NOT sweating, that is NOT a good thing. Sit down and drink something. Now. At best you're dehydrated. At worst you're about to have a serious problem. If you're already sitting down and you don't have water handy, and you notice you aren't sweating, you may want to ask someone around you to bring you some water, because it's entirely possible you are not going to want to trust yourself to stand up.
I try to carry baby wipes with me wherever I go. Partly they are nice and cool and can help if you put them on the back of your neck if you're starting to get into the state I just mentioned. Partly they are excellent for wiping out skin folds if they have been sweating and you can feel a heat rash starting. Clean out the dirt and whatever else you're developing under there, gently, and let it dry before you drop the fold closed.
If you end up with one of those heat rashes, clean the skin, let it dry, and apply a moisturizing lotion. I like Aveeno, but whatever works best for you. I have also discovered that coconut oil works very well as a moisturizer and also (for me anyway) helps keep the area clean until the rash goes away.
Beating the Heat while Fat: A Summer Survival Guide
Summer is (almost) here and it’s going to be hotter than ever. If you’re fat (like me), you know how much hot weather sucks. Specifically, we get to deal with fun issues like underboob sweat, chub rub, skin fold sunburn, and more. And while I like to take a body neutral approach to everything, this can be hard in summer thanks to exclusion and neglect.
The thing is that not a lot of people really… talk about these things, though, because that would interfere with our image of summer. Not a lot of companies are marketing their stuff as a solution to fat people’s problems, because that would be acknowledging that fat people might actually want to go outside during summer.
Having been fat for many a summer now, I want to share some of my resources for enjoying summer! These are all based on personal recommendations and things I have directly experienced. Please feel free to reblog and add on with your experiences and recommendations!
However, if your commentary is even remotely fatphobic, you will be blocked and your comments will be deleted. This post is not for you, and nobody is actually interested in what you have to say!
Back and Underboob Sweat
Two words: Gold Bond. Gold Bond fixes this. It comes in powder, stick, and spray form. I’ve used the powder in shoes, but not on my body. They’ve recently released an invisible form of the spray, which I’m very excited about.
Spray this under your breast tissue or other skin folds, or on flat areas of skin like your lower back that tend to sweat. Some of their powders have aloe in them, which is delightfully soothing for the skin.
Make sure that if you’re sensitive to scent, you buy one of the unscented versions. The “fresh” scent is nice, but it is a scent!
When you’re using this type of spray, do it clean but dry. Don’t do it right after a shower- give your skin a chance to dry off. Lift your breast or skin fold, spray underneath, and then hold it for a couple of seconds to let the spray dry down.
You can also use other types of powder, like body powder or baby powder. There’s mixed evidence about talc-containing powder and its link to cancer, but some people do find talcum powder more irritating than talc-free powder, so whether or not you use this is up to you.
Do keep in mind that this is NOT sunscreen! Apply your sunscreen first for areas of exposed skin.
Chub Rub
Dealing with the tops of your thighs rubbing together is extremely unfun. There are a couple of ways I like to deal with this!
Slip Shorts
I actually reviewed a bunch of these a few years ago. Slip shorts or bike shorts are perfect for wearing under dresses or loose-fitting rompers as a way to stop your thighs from rubbing. As a bonus, if you’re using bike shorts, sometimes they come with extra pockets to stash stuff in.
Friction Sticks
If you’re wearing a swimsuit and don’t want to wear shorts, or just don’t want to wear shorts, period, then a friction stick is another good way to avoid chub rub! I have a couple, Bodyglide and Gold Bond.
If you’re buying Bodyglide, they have one that’s just as good, Bodyglide Outdoor, that is sometimes cheaper. There’s a Bodyglide “For Her” which I’ve never tried, but that’s usually more expensive and let’s be real, do you really need to moisturize your inner thighs? I think not!
There’s also creams you can use but I find those messy and less effective than the sticks. You might like them, though! Experiment with products to find the one(s) that work for you.
Friction sticks can also stop foot blisters. Rub a little on your heel, toe, or wherever you get hot spots.
Dealing With Sweat
I sweat, you sweat, we all sweat. Humans were meant to sweat. Sweating’s a good thing. But that doesn’t mean it’s fun, and frankly I hate being sweaty. Typically, fat people sweat more than thin people, for several reasons related to the way we thermoregulate.
Fortunately, there are lots of ways to make summer sweating less annoying. I’ve written about this before, so you can check out that post for some of my favorite tips for dealing with sweat. Here’s some of the highlights.
Evaporative Cooling
A bandanna or other wrap filled with water crystals can do AMAZING things. You can make this yourself really easily- if you can’t find water crystals, you can just use Orbeez. They sell little 99 cent packs of those in the checkout lines at some stores and at the dollar store, and you can make several cooling wraps with one packet.
You can also get evaporative cooling towels, like Frogg Toggs. I don’t like those as much because they tend to start smelling a little funny, but they’re great for larger area coverage.
Using these will help cool you down and will do the same thing that sweat does– without being sticky.
Hair
If you have long hair, get it off the back of your neck. I used to put it up in a bun with a bun former, but now I just use claw clips. They’re cuter and easier! Seriously, this will help you so much. Get the hair up and away from your skin, you’ll feel so much better.
Hand Fans
I always have a hand fan with me, but not one of the little battery operated ones. I’ve tried a lot of those! I even took one up a mountain once, and it was the only reason I survived. But they never provide the same level of breeze that my folding fan does.
I use this one because it’s cute, and you can get cute ones for a couple bucks on Amazon. I do prefer fabric to the stiff paper ones, just because they’re a bit more durable- I’ve had mine for years now. It’s good.
I’m also not a huge fan of those fans that go around your neck, but I’ve seen many people enjoying them. If they work for you, great!
Hydration and Electrolytes
Carry water with you when you go places, and if you’re gonna be out for a while doing anything strenuous, take some electrolyte tablets with you. I like Nuun because I think they taste good, but there’s lots of brands out there.
There’s no one mineral called electrolyte, just so you know. Electrolytes are a group of minerals that includes sodium, potassium, and chloride as the primary (or significant) electrolytes. Electrolytes are important because they have a natural positive or negative electrical charge when dissolved in water. This electricity is how your nerves transmit information and how your cells make your muscles contract, so low levels of electrolytes can cause some serious issues. Different electrolyte imbalances have different symptoms, but common symptoms include nausea, fatigue, confusion, tremors, muscle spasms (cramps), and dizziness.
If you’re feeling those as you’re moving around outside, get somewhere cool, drink some water, and either eat some food or add electrolyte tablets to your water. This will help stabilize you quickly!
Skin Fold Sunburn Prevention
Everybody should wear sunscreen, period. End of story.
But if you’re applying sunscreen by yourself and you have skin folds, it can be a pain to reach them! This is especially true for any folds that form on your upper back or around your upper arm.
These areas can burn and be very painful, especially if you’re in swimwear or a sleeveless top. It’s also VERY easy to forget that these areas need sunscreen!
If you don’t want or don’t have someone to help you apply those areas you can’t reach, spray sunscreen can be a way to get those areas. If you don’t like the spray or want heavier coverage with a cream, then use a lotion applicator!
If the stick style doesn’t work for you (like if you have shoulder mobility issues), the strap style asks for a different range of motion. If you can’t find one that works for you at a big box store, look at a pharmacy. These are often sold as disability aids or for elderly people with a reduced range of motion.
But honestly, one of the most important things about this is just knowing your body. Know where your skin folds are and think about how they move as you’re applying sunscreen. Get underneath them- as you move, those areas can be exposed to the sun, too.
So yeah, that’s my best advice for beating the heat while fat. If you’ve got other tips, feel free to share them!

What to Wear and Pack for Your Dubai Desert Safari?
Preparing for a desert safari in Dubai requires careful consideration of the weather, activities planned, and cultural norms. Here's a comprehensive guide on what to wear and pack:
Clothing:
Lightweight and loose-fitting clothing: Opt for breathable fabrics like cotton or linen to stay cool in the desert heat.
Long-sleeved shirts and pants: Protect yourself from the sun and potential insect bites.
Tumblr media
Scarf or shawl: Useful for covering your head or shoulders to shield from the sun.
Closed-toe shoes: Comfortable shoes with good grip, like sneakers or hiking boots, to navigate sandy terrain.
Swimwear: If your safari includes activities like dune bashing or sandboarding, you might want to wear swimwear underneath your clothes.

Accessories:
Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from the glare of the sun.
Hat or cap: Shield your face and neck from direct sunlight.
Sunscreen: Use a high SPF sunscreen to prevent sunburn.

If visiting religious sites, women should carry a shawl or scarf to cover their heads.
Tumblr media

Respect local customs and traditions.
Avoid public displays of affection.
Refrain from consuming alcohol in public spaces unless in designated areas.
By packing appropriately and respecting local customs, you'll be well-prepared for an unforgettable experience in Dubai desert safari.

Ok I'm going down the same path as @mav-exe and saying that I'm an American, but I want to help out.
At 43c or 110ishf you are in danger. I spent a few summers in the Sonora desert next to the imperial sand dunes right on the border. It was 105-125f all summer. Here's how you survive:
Don't rely on air conditioners. They will fail in the heat and they dry the air they process, while this feels nice it is dehydrating your body. Keep your thermostat as high as your can stand to sleep in. I never let mine fall below 80-85f or roughly 23c during those summers.
Don't drink cold water. Don't do it. I'm being so fucking serious. Do not put ice in anything. If you are already over heating (and don't know it yet) the cold ice could put you in shock. I've seen this happen live infront of me and the guy almost died.
Shade is your friend. If you have to go outside take an umbrella. I will also recommend natural fibers like linen and cotton in loose cuts, but changing your wardrobe can be costly and unrealistic.
Wake up early. Get up as the sun comes up or before. When I was in the desert the pipes couldn't be buried very deep due to the rock under the sand not being more than three or four feet down. Wake up early and take a cool shower while you can. You'll thank me. Also you can wet your hair through out the day to expel heat.
Take a nap. No I'm not kidding. I would wake up early enough that by 11 or 12 I would find the coolest spot I could (the floor) and take a nap through the heat of the day until 2-4pm. If you can also through the heat of the day, this is not always possible and I'm sorry if it's not for you.
If your AC does die and you are left in a big home shaped microwave it's time to go outside. If you have a yard/garden you might want to try to dig a hole if it gets bad enough. Ground temp is effective at keeping you alive as it is usually around 65f or 18c. If you don't want or cannot destroy your entire yard it's time for mud. There's a reason animals use it to cool down. Make yourself some mud and start putting it across your shoulders and forehead. Your body temp will come down.
Create any cross breeze you can. If you have access to any fans at all I know it's tempting to point them at you, but you'll get more mileage by putting them in windows to pull and push air. Stagnant air is the enemy. And yes even moving the air in your house around is still stagnant air. You need fresh air to circulate with.
Invest in apple sauce. If the heat becomes too much you body will struggle to digest solid foods and it will take more of your limited water supply to do so. So eat apple sauce. Lots of it. You know those pouches you can get for packing lunches? I would eat three to four of those a day.
Drink only water. Please don't drink anything else. Even Gatorade. No it is not good for you, no it is not going to keep you hydrated in an extreme situation like this. Cut down on ALL sugar(and fake sugar) and salt intake if you can while you're at it.
Tumblr media
I need UK journalists to not show 43 degrees is not beach weather like people are gonna die
Americans do not interact

Ohh yes yes to all the above *especially the generator thing* that shit is deadly!
Other additions around if you lose power:
If you're leaving town, the day before you go, put a disposable/plastic cup of water in your freezer. Before you head out the door, toss a coin on top of the frozen water in that cup.
If the power's gone out for any long period of time and then kicked back on, that coin will be sunk down in the ice when you get back. If it is, toss all your food! (Sucks I know, but better than risking food poisoning.)
Speaking of fridges, if you stick around and the power goes out and you don't think it's coming on any time soon even once the storms have passed--congrats you're having a cookout. If you don't have a working grill yourself, see if someone on your block does.
Around here when the power goes out for days, folks will usually end up doing impromptu block parties because no one wants to lose all the meat they have in the freezer, so everyone just kinda chills and grills in their front yards/ apartment courtyards (if you're not in a flooded area obviously).
Also, stock up on nonperishable foods that you don't need heat to eat! Canned beans/meat, peanut butter, crackers, trail mix, etc. (Please double check that your can opener works) If you're lucky you could be out of power for only a few days, but I've known folks who've lost power for weeks.
Stock up on bottled water as well. If water is being rationed or gone at your grocery, grab things like coconut water, lemonade, and electrolyte drinks like gatorade/powerade. Those will keep you hydrated too.
You'll also want things like baby wipes and hand sanitizer in case you find yourself without water.
And speaking of not having water---
If your water goes out and stays out, you will eventually need to poop. Here is a basic camp toilet:
Big 5 gallon bucket (the kind you buy at the hardware store)
A cheap toilet seat (this is admittedly optional)
Large garbage bags
Cat litter/sawdust/sawdust pellet horse bedding
Babywipes/toilet paper
Hand sanitizer
Take your bucket and line it with a garbage bag. Now toss down a layer of your cat litter, don't fill the bucket because each time you do your business you'll pour a bit more litter over it. Slap the toilet seat on there. You may now do your business. Make sure you cover your waste and all the toilet paper with cat litter once you're done. Once the bag is full, tie it up and replace it.
Glamorous, I know, but it beats panicking about where to poo or your whole house getting smelly because your toilet is full of waste you can't flush.
Also, it can be tempting to strip when it's hot and there's no AC, but that may not be your best bet.
Instead opt for lightweight, loose fitting clothing that covers you up from the sun. Think flowy sundresses with a shawl, loose gauzy pants, baggy shirts.
Avoid synthetic materials like polyester since those can trap heat.
If you do have water access, try wetting a scarf/tshirt and draping it atop your head and against your neck to help you cool off.
At night, don't feel like you need to sleep in bed. If the tile floor is cooler, grab a sheet and sprawl out. Hammocks can also be good for this.
Seconding the unpredictability of hurricanes! They can serve at the last minute and miss you completely, or rain out most of their intensity out over the ocean before hitting land. It's good to do your prep, but also don't worry yourself to pieces.
Hoping y'all stay safe over on the west coast!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@ California mutuals: If it hasn't already been said: Try not to walk in flood water. If a power line is down its a perfect recipie for getting electrocuted. Its likely also dirty and full of sewage. Sometimes theres no choice, so if you DO end up walking in flood water, beware: if you see a patch or raft of brown like this, it's fire ants. They all climb on each other to form a raft and it's TERRIFYING (and cool to watch. ) Yes those are ALL fire ants.

With summer comes warmer weather, more daylight, and more opportunities to get outside and enjoy all that the season has to offer. While this is all great news, it's important to remember that summer also brings some potential dangers. Here are a few tips to help you stay safe and enjoy a summer free of accidents and injuries.
When enjoying the outdoors, always be aware of your surroundings. If you're hiking, be aware of potential hazards like loose rocks or slippery surfaces. If you're swimming, be sure to stay within your depth and never swim alone.
Be mindful of the heat and stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest hours of the day. Wear loose, light clothing and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun's harmful rays.
If you'll be spending time around fireworks this summer, be sure to follow all safety precautions. Never light fireworks yourself, and keep a safe distance from anyone who is setting them off.
With a little extra caution, you can have a fun and safe summer. Enjoy the outdoors, but be aware of the potential dangers that come with the season.

Imperfections make Us Perfect
Disclaimer: This fic has nothing to do with the character of the Idol or any person mentioned. It is purely fictional and meant for entertainment purposes only. Based on the incident of my relative.
Genre: Lee Felix x chubby!reader, summer au, mention of dehydration and fainting, insecure reader, lovely bf felix
Summary: The stereotypical view of the society made you insecure about your weight. Being chubby and curvy doesn't mean being ugly, which you were unable to understand. Thus, your boyfriend, Felix, takes this responsibility and teaches you to love yourself and prioritize yourself.
If I've done any mistake, left out something, your opinions about the story, please comment in the comment section and if you have some suggestions, you can tell me via ask always and I'll try to respond each one of it.
Dehydration is a harmful reduction in the amount of water in the body. Please, drink lots of water and avoid being in the heat for too long.
The symptoms of dehydration are:
feeling thirsty.
dark yellow and strong-smelling pee.
feeling dizzy or lightheaded.
feeling tired.
a dry mouth, lips and eyes.
peeing little, and fewer than 4 times a day
Tumblr media
It was mid-summer and the scorching heat seemed to absorb all your energy, and you and your boyfriend were dumb enough to take a walk to the pool instead of using your car, petrol prices you know. You were sweating profusely, practically bathed in your own sweat, looking like a hot mess. On the other hand, your boyfriend, Felix, whose homeland was a tropical country didn't mind it as much. He was definitely worried seeing you on the verge of dehydration. Finally being done with your stubborn ass he said, "Babe, you know that we're not far from our house right..", You nodded affirmatively. "How about we go home and get you in some shorts and a cotton shirt? Moreover, we have our couple outfits right, how about we try them, hmm...". You could never deny Felix's requests, what come may, but today you did. "Bokkie~! I think I like my outfit, and once we reach home, I wouldn't like to go out again, try to understand babe!!" "But...*sighs*, at least drink some water, at the rate you're sweating at, you'll get dehydrated soon." "Oh, let me check it. Shit! I guess I forgot to carry a bottle of water along with me. Sorry!", you rambled while finding for a bottle in your bag, sadly finding none. "Why are you so careless,*sighs* let me get you a bottle of water from the store nearby, wait under the tree."
You were already wearing a full sleeve t-shirt under your half sleeve blouse, and a ankle length wide pants, to hide your body. Your clothing made it harder to survive under the beaming sun. Each passing minute your vision begun to blur and your eyes getting shut, your ears almost shutting the sound of the surroundings, your legs failing to support you, thus, your system had begun to shut down, your voice didn't leave your throat. The contents of the bag spilt around the place, the sunglasses lay broken near you, the world turned dark and silent, your body lay flat across the footpath. Maybe, you should've worn airy clothes.
There was a lady, in the store who kept bargaining with the owner for a discount, wasting his time and increasing his stress. In the end, Felix had to beg her to move away from the billing counter due to an emergency. As soon as he started to approach you, he witnessed a large crowd standing on the same place as you where you were waiting. He tried to shovel the public behind to witness the scene, just to find his better half laying unconscious on the footpath. "Call the ambulance, somebody, PLEASE call the ambulance. Baby,*pats your cheeks*, shit!" At that moment a doctor comes to the rescue fighting through the crowd. "wait for a minute sir!", the doctor said, kneeling down, "can we take her in the shop, she'll feel a bit cooler." He removed your socks, your scarf, loosened your belt and collar, and splashed some water on your face, while laying you on your back. "Let her take her time to wakeup, this'll reduce further chances of fainting. Once she wakes up, make sure she gets hydrated. Don't worry young man, this is common in summers." "Thank you...thank you so much sir!! I'll make sur to follow your instructions. I lost my senses due to panic and fear. How should I repay you for your kindness?!" Felix rambled through his emotions. "My pleasure young man. But next time if anybody faints position the person on their back. If there are no injuries and the person is breathing, raise the person's legs above heart level — about 12 inches (30 centimeters) — if possible. Loosen belts, collars or other constrictive clothing. To reduce the chance of fainting again, don't get the person up too quickly, alright. You don't need to pay me back, it's my duty as a doctor. Take care, bye!"
The world seemed blurry, you felt cool, and you found your self in an unknown place once you woke up. You also realized that you were laying on Felix's lap all this while. Worried you said, "Shit! Jagi are your legs paining. I'm sorry I didn't know.....wait a minute. Why am I here? What happened? Babe..." Your boyfriend on the other hand looked at you sadly, he cupped your face, ran his hand through your hair, and exclaimed, "You fainted due to dehydration, and this was the nearest store where I could bring you to cool you down. And, no my legs aren't tired of you sleeping on them, it's just I'm tired of you berating yourself. Now, let's go home, you need some rest." "But...what about our pool picnic. I'm sorry I rui-" That's all it took for Felix to place a kiss on your lips. "Now gorgeous, do you want to go home or-....", he whispered. "Lets go home!!" you said, as your cheeks turned red. As soon as you woke up, he took your hands in his and started walking out of the shop, thanking the owner, to which she replied, "Ah gwaenchanh-ayo! Take care of yourselves in the future. You look so good together." "Thank you!" you two said to the owner together and left for home. Mostly, Felix carrying you home, despite your denial.
The heat still as bad as before had now exhausted you're boyfriend, panting, and sweating. Yet he went to bring a glass of water for both of you. Seeing this, your tears started to flow down your cheeks. Your insecurities, the thoughts of him leaving you, him being tired of handling the insecurities of a chubby girlfriend, started occupying your mind. By the time you could say somethin, Felix arrived there with a glass of water. Your tears worrying him, leading him to think he had done a mistake. "Babe! What's wrong? Did I do something wrong? I just carried you here as I didn't want you to get unconscious on the way. I'm sorry, babe, please don't cry. I promise to make up to you." he kept on rambling apologies while hugging you, waiting until you stop crying. "Felix, what did I do to deserve you?" to which Felix frowned, "Huh!?""You're such a caring and loving boyfriend, you're so loyal, you never commented on my wait, you make me feel beautiful, and the list goes on. I...I-I ruined your public image, my weight kept on bothering my thoughts making me jealous of every single girl I see you with. You have to handle the burden of a larger gf, my insecurities, and etc. etc. etc. And-" Felix was teary himself. He kissed your tears away, kissed your temples, your forehead and every inch of your face, kissing you deeply on the lips. He went down on his knees so that he could see your face. "look at me babe! Do you think I'm perfect? No, right. All of us have certain strengths and weaknesses. I have them too. It's true your not prefect, but it is also true that you have strong points as well. Our imperfections make us perfect for each other. We accepted each other, because we love all of our qualities and imperfections. We love each other, and that's what is important." he made you stand up and tagged you along to the mirror of your bedroom, and back-hugged you. "See! Look at your eyes, look at the love in your eyes, look at your smile, then look at me. Look at the smile you bring to my face, the joy of having you as my partner, look in my eyes. Now look at the mirror, don't we look perfect for each other?!" "We do babe! I feel elegant in your touch. I love you!" He turned you to face him and kissed you deeply, making you feel his love, making you smile against his lips. He's right you fit in each other arms perfectly, you're lips fit together like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. You belong to him, and he belongs to you. "Now, I need to talk to you after we freshen up. Shower?" "Yessie~" you chuckled, making you look adorable, lighting Felix's eyes.
After a loooonnngggg~~~~ shower makeout session, Felix was ready to preach. " You know that the temperature outside is almost 40* then why did you wear such long clothes? You were dressed like it was winters going on. Next, do not forget to take a water bottle while going out, why don't you understand even after telling this a 100 times before? Lastly, stop being a miser, we both earn enough to fulfill the petrol prices for our cars, instead of walking in the heat. And, please drink water, you always forget to drink water and eat your food properly, else you'll get weak, understood?!" "Ne sonnim~~". "Let me find out your summer clothes in your wardrobe." "Babe-" *2 hours later* "You don't have a single summer clothing?!*sighs* We're going to shop you some better clothes in the evening, DON'T make faces!" "Yeoboo~~! There's no sale going on-" "I'll find one, that's it." "But they wouldn't flatter my body-" "Woman if you don't love your body, let me adore it atleast." Felix's gaze alone made you feel flattered, and how could you deny his request, he was your love afterall. You two ended up buying a lot of clothes, with you two bargaining to pay. Hence, you had to split the bill between you two.

Beating The Heat On The Cheap
For all my European darlings who are suffering through this horrible heat wave, my American friends who don't always have access to air conditioning, and anyone else who needs it....
Here are some tips on how to survive the heat of summer at home when you have next to no money and only household basics to work with.
(I'd love it if readers would reblog this and add their own ideas - people need all the help they can get right now!)
Stay hydrated. This is the most important thing. You're going to sweat a LOT and your body needs that replenished as often as possible. Drink WATER as much as possible and cold is best. Soda won't cut the mustard and sports drinks may replenish your electrolytes, but they are not meant for subsistence. If you need to flavor your water to make it more palatable, do it. And I know cold tea is anathema to some, but a glass of sweet or citrusy iced tea might be just the thing to get you through.
Wear loose, breezy clothing. I know the instinct is to wear your smallest, briefest summer garments, but sometimes wearing something larger, looser, and flowy helps to cool you down. The movement of the fabric creates a little bit of a breeze to draw heat away from your skin and helps all that sweating actually cool you down.
Draw the shades. If you have curtains or blinds or window shades, cover the windows, especially on the sunny side of your home. Shading the place will help keep the heat out, at least a little.
Use fans and appliances judiciously. Keep the air moving. I know sometimes it's just blowing hot air around, but it's better than stagnating. Also if you have an exhaust fan above your stove, USE IT. Draw off some of that heat from your cooking and for the love of all things holy, try not to use the oven. (Also, if you're not using your desktop computer or gaming system, unplug it for a while - those things generate a lot of heat!)
Eat cool and light. Try to avoid making meals that are going to heat up the house. If you can, make cold meals or use the microwave instead of the stovetop or oven. If you have an outdoor grill, use that for the evening meal instead of the stove. Also, if you have a blender handy, smoothies are a great way to cool down and also get in a few servings of fruit or vegetables.
Swamp coolers are your friend. If you've got a towel, a drink cooler, a bag of ice, and a box fan, you can make a homemade swamp cooler as well. Put the towel on the floor and the drink cooler on top. Fill the cooler with ice and position the fan so that it's blowing over and around the open cooler from less than two feet away. Elevate it on a box or chair if necessary. This isn't going to cool your entire home, but it can cool a small space and provides a little relief. Just be aware that there will be some sweating from the cooler and you'll need to replace the ice after a while. (The meltwater may be good for watering the garden or doing the washing up though.)
Cold showers take the edge off of many things. At the end of the day, take a shower that's a few degrees cooler than body temperature. Even if you don't do a full scrub or wash your hair, get in and sluice down, or use a pitcher of room-temperature water to give yourself a rinse. This helps your whole body cool down, cleans off the sweat of the day so you don't get breakouts, and helps you sleep cooler and less sticky. (Also, try sleeping under the duvet cover without the duvet inside to stay cooler at bedtime. And definitely have a fan in the bedroom.)
Make some homemade cold spray. This is something I used to make for camping trips. In a spray bottle, combine tap water and aloe gel in about equal measure. Then, if you have it, add 2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil. Shake to combine. You can store the bottle in the fridge when you're at home or tuck it into your bag if you're out and about. A few spritzes on the chest or the back of the neck helps immensely. (Don't spray it on your face or near your eyes. If you have any allergy or sensitivity to peppermint, leave the essential oil out.)
Keep reusable ice packs in the freezer. These can be a lifesaver. They're a quick way to cool down during the day, by cuddling or leaning against while sitting. If you can't find ice packs, fill a freezer bag 3/4 full of ice water with half a cup of rubbing alcohol, squeeze out the air before closing, and reinforce the seams and edges with duct tape. In an emergency when nothing else is working, or if someone starts to overheat, take an ice pack and put it under the arm. There's a whole host of major circulatory vessels in that area and it's a fast way to bring down body temp if someone's in trouble or while you're waiting for emergency services.
Please feel free to add your own tips and stay safe out there!

4 Moving Day Tips
You already know that moving can be a stressful process, right? But what if we told you that there are a few ways that you can make it easier?
Follow these 4 tips, and your moving day will be a breeze!
Plan Ahead
Moving can get downright frustrating when you factor in the uncertainty of beginning a new chapter in your already hectic life. It's a good idea to develop a written to-do list of the tasks you'll need to complete before moving day and after your move to ensure nothing is forgotten.
Things you may need to include on your to-do list are hiring your movers, canceling or moving utility service, preparing your kids for the move, and boarding your pets.
Set each item's priority and use a brightly colored pen or highlighter to check off completed chores so you can track your progress.
Dress For Success
Ever seen a professional mover carrying boxes to the truck in flip-flops? Of course not! Your moving day attire should set you up for success.
Consider wearing long pants or durable shorts. Pack the flip-flops and opt for boots or shoes with laces. Choosing a long-sleeve t-shirt will protect your arms from bumps and scrapes.
Remember, clothing that fits too loosely increases the risk of snagging on big-screen televisions, garden equipment, and doorknobs, which can result in unneeded injuries to yourself and damage to your property.
It's also a good idea to prepare for adverse weather conditions like snow, rain, and extreme heat depending on where and when you'll be moving.
Leave Some Cleaning Supplies Unpacked
After being cleared of furniture, even homes inhabited by the most meticulous housekeepers can wind up surprisingly dirty.
After the professional movers have left, you'll probably need to do a little sweeping and dusting to get your "old" house ready for its new occupants. Keep a dustpan and broom, a few cleaning rags, a duster, and a multi-surface cleanser unpacked so you can whip things into shape before saying your final goodbye.
Remember to Eat
Carrying heavy furniture out of a home and onto a moving truck is a tiresome activity that requires a ton of energy. Proper nourishment and hydration are essential to keep everyone healthy and hale.
Keep plenty of water or sports drinks on hand throughout the day, and avoid heavy or overly greasy food for meal times. While ordering a pizza may seem like the easiest option, it can actually leave everyone feeling a bit sluggish. Try a small healthy meal instead — splurge on pizza after the work is done!

I'm truly sorry the north is finally having to experience southern heat/humidity so here's so tips:
Buy window AC units. Air Conditioning is just that, it conditions the humidity out of the air. 85 is honestly not that hard to get used to but you will NEVER get used to be slowly steamed all day.
If there's not a breeze or good circulation between open windows/doors it doesn't matter how nice it feels outside, all you'll get is humidity. So check that (the weather channel app has the humidity listed further down the page anything over 50% you might wanna skip it) before deciding to open windows/doors.
Fanning yourself/sitting under a fan feels great! As soon as it stops you're gonna be miserable again and fanning yourself honestly takes more energy and does nothing. Buy a box fan and use it in your room while you sleep if you can't afford the AC unit, it's better than nothing!
DRINK! DRINK LOTS!! Lemonade, Gatorade, soda, juice whatever it's all hydrating!! Water ofc works as well but getting some sugar in you in between the water guzzling is helpful! (We invented iced sweet tea for a reason!!....speaking of which learn to make iced sweet/unsweet tea!)
Those frog togg things are fantastic but in a pinch you can wet a hand towel or wash cloth with cold water and put it around your neck!
This doesn't have as much to do with the humidity but SUNSCREEN! Trust me a sunburn does not make it better. (If you do get burned be sure to use an aloe based lotion several times a day!!)
If you have long thick dark hair go ahead and put it up "oh but it looks is cute dow.." nope! You will hate yourself!!
Flipflops! Socks are murder in this kind of heat! If you have to wear closed shoes for work keep some sort of sandal in your car! You loose a lot of heat through your feet and head!
If you can, look at the weather ahead of time and plan to do nothing/be inside with AC for the hotest part of the day. Say if you're doing yard work or taking the kids to the park or something take a break during that time!
Find escapes! Around here if we see it's going to be blisteringly hot, and we have the time off, we'll make plans to go to: the mountains, the theater, a water park/swimming hole, etc hell even just sitting sipping iced coffee at the local mall is better than sitting in "un air-conditioned house stew"
Humidity can VERY quickly exhaust you!!! Please try and take it easy and stay hydrated!

Yoga Exercise Recommendations - Heating Up As Properly As Hydration
It's a built-in portion of your own yoga aerobic exercise. You are able to avoid unnecessary injuries. Lots of activities athletes know that they require to get this done ahead of each and every sport or else they can chance being injured. You're exactly the same in this aspect. The muscles need to be loose before you begin moving.
It's possible to warm your muscle tissues for approximately 10 to a quarter-hour and make these flexible. Just in case your muscle tissues are cold and you don't warm these up, you won't have the output that you desire. You might like to tear a muscle in the process.
You can do soft aerobic workouts for the blood to movement through the body. Soft jogging is yet another way that you could loosen up before you begin running. Whatsoever you use for warm-up yoga workouts, they have to be low affect and soft, such as for instance lunges.
Don't rest when you have heated up. Accomplish some stretches so you help to keep your energy Fitness going. You wish to prepare yourself to perform just after you're done. Don't overstretch your bones and muscles or you might cause particular injury to these areas.
Then you can certainly begin working and enter your own yoga exercise.
It's essential that you avoid contamination while right before and throughout your working exercise. This may prevent you from putting up with heat related illnesses. In the event that you don't consume enough, you might get exhausted, uncoordinated plus your muscle tissues can start to cramp. You may even distribute, exclusively in warm temperatures.
You may also have a heatstroke, fatigue from the heat. When you're working, you need to discover how much you're consuming through the entire process.

Here's a short YouTube video on the water bottle nozzle air conditioner @capt-coffeebitch is talking about.
Here is a Wikihow article I found while looking for the previous video that gives a couple good options for if you just have one of those oscillating fans instead of a box fan. I imagine they work just fine with a box fan, too. To summarize:
Option 1) Add a teaspoon of salt to a bottle of water and freeze it, put the bottle in front of the fan. (Salt melts ice faster but it also makes the ice colder [this is one of the reasons rock salt is used to make ice cream].) Make a few of these so you can switch out once the ice is done melting and no longer helping keep you cool.
Option 2: Cut halfway through two empty plastic water bottle near the butt, drill holes around the sides, drop ice cubes in the bottles, and tie them to the back of your fan. When the ice melts you can just unscrew the cap and let the water out and refill the bottles with more ice cubes.
More miscellaneous advice from someone who lives where 43°C is a yearly occurrence:
If you cannot avoid going outside, keep a bottle of water with you. One that's partially frozen is ideal, but the main purpose is hydration.
DO NOT CHUG OR GUZZLE YOUR WATER. Drink it one mouthful at a time. Too much water too fast will just come right back up again and you don't even get the benefits of drinking it.
AVOID CAFFEINE AND ALCOHOL. They'll dehydrate you! Drink water, sports drinks, or fruit juices!
Avoid dairy. I'm not just saying this because I'm lactose intolerant, dairy plus intense heat can make you vomit. Learned that the hard way from a classmate on a field trip once, all over my open-toed sandals. I know ice cream will sound amazing because of the heat, but aim for fruity frozen treats instead if you can.
Carry a handheld fan with you if you can. If you don't have one, you can fold a piece of printer paper like an accordion to make one. This Wikihow article gives you fancier options, too, including a sturdier fan made with popsicle sticks. Making it pretty is optional, ofc, but it might be a fun activity with the kids that keeps them occupied for a bit and gives them a tool to keep cool in the heat.
Umbrellas are portable shade. There's a reason parasols were popular for awhile there, but an umbrella serves the same purpose. They don't do much for heat in my experience but they sure help with preventing sunburn if you don't have access to sunscreen.
Emphasis on lightweight, loose, breathable clothing. It cannot be overstated how helpful this is.
Do your best to stay in the shade. I understand this isn't always possible, but if you have to cross to the wrong side of the street to stay shady, do it.
Take frequent breaks. I know it seems counterintuitive; you want to get out of the heat as fast as you can. But you'll stay cooler if you pace yourself instead of push yourself. Try to avoid any activity that gets your heart rate up, if you can.
When you get to a building with plumbing—whether that's home or work or somewhere else—cup your hands under a tap running cool water for a minute or two. You can also wet a paper towel or a washcloth with cool water and drape it over the back of your neck. I specify being in a building because as pointed out by @kipplekipple earlier, you don't want wet anything on your body in the sun.
