Keeley's first Gotcha Day was Tuesday. It's been such a joy to watch her grow into a weird, affectionate, stubborn little thing. She has no sense of her own mortality, thinks all paper should be reduced to confetti, and has mastered the first part of the Addams Family theme. Her favourite game is peek-a-boo, which she actually seems to understand how to play. It's scary how smart she is, and simultaneously scary how dumb she can be when she decides to do things like protect me from the predator (the orange cat), or suddenly realize "I DON'T KNOW THAT PERSON!!!!" and launch herself into potato flight.

I adore her.

Have I spammed you with pet pics lately? Bisquick got lots of gifts for Yule, including a new scarf so the Yule Cat wouldn't eat him.

He and his sisters, Widget and Burke, got a new cat tree. Widget models one of the caves here:

And Keeley celebrated her first hatch day on 12/21/23. There were apple slices and new toys.

Hear the birb harassing the orange cat, who is sleeping under her play stand. Cat cracks an eye and rolls over to show tummy and stretch.

This insult will not stand! Birb will cut a bitch! BIRB IS IRATE.

Hear a thud. Birb has pulled a pair of scissors off the craft table and dragged them back to drop on the cat.

The cat is befuddled, and sulking.

Keeley has tried her first piece of fig. She is in bliss.

I made Keeley a new playground for my office. Mainly in the hope of her not popping down the side as much.
