Hi it’s your secret valentine 💌 again! Sorry it took me a minute to get back to you. It was a busy week unfortunately. My ‘24 drama year was also pretty slow too. I’d watched at least 1 episode for 82 dramas/movies, but dropped 28 & finished 37. There were some good dramas tho; Blossom and The Double were faves for me as well. Knight Flower and See Her Again were nice surprise dramas for me and Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty 2 was one that lived up to expectations. 100% would recommend. (1/2)

hello!!! nice to hear from you again. never heard about those cdrama before as i wasn't into cdrama that much before and used to only watch modern one. as i usually avoid the historical/custom drama all together be it kdrama, jdrama or cdrama😅. but the double opened the door for me and there're many i want to check!! so thank you!!!!! i was this close 🤏🏼 to pick the impossible heir back when it was about to air but i didn't and saw all te bad reactions/reviews that made me gave up on it before even picking it up 😅😅😅….

still no fav as the only '25 drama I'm still watching is perfect match and it's not that great but have it's enjoyable bits…… kdrama I'm looking forward to is "our movie" with two of my fav actors: namgoong min and yeobin!!! in both of them i trust. and there's also "my youth" coming from run on writer so it should be good! for cdrama there're few ones I'm eyeing hoping they'll see the light this year: the first frost, reborn, when destiny brings the demon [previous title long for fish], love beyond the grave, yummy yummy yummy, those that comes to mind now. i downloaded these dramas and have yet to watch them: asura, i am nobody s1, lion no kakurega, love game in eastern fantasy and the trauma code. if only i had more time a day i would've started at least one of them.

hello! Sorry for the late reply. It was a busy week for me between getting grades in for the end of the semester, prepping for the new semester, and lunar new year. 

I usually enjoy wu xia xianxia period cdramas or period kdramas with pretty costumes and fight scenes. Like that’s usually what gets me to look up those dramas. Then if the plot sounds intriguing, there’s someone investigating something or mystery solving, or has an actor or actress that I have a favorable impression of in it, I usually want to check it out. I also watch modern dramas too, but those usually are of the mystery solving genres.

I actually don’t tend to drop dramas, I just stop watching it 😆.  It would range from I got bored, lost interest in between wait time for the next airing eps, or it was “too much” and I’d just stop watching it and the drama just languish on my MDL’s currently watching list until I look back at it and be honest with myself that I’m not going to pick it back up.lol  The dramas where I just straight up drop because I didn’t like the characters or plots are a little few in between. 😅

it’s the season of love—of all shapes, forms and sizes. @kdramaspace and @kdramanetwork are joining hands this year to bring you the first kdrama secret valentine event. 

ABOUT THE EVENT ♡━━━━━━ ◦ ✤ ◦ ━━━━━━♡ You will be assigned to another person as their secret valentine. During the course of the event you will write letters (anonymous asks). We hope this will be a way for you to either get to know more about your secret valentine if you don’t know them already, and help build new friendship in the drama community. If you choose to partake in the gift exchange portion, at the end, along with revealing your identity you will gift your secret valentine a gift.

There will be two pools of valentines: (1) Letter Exchange (2) Letter and Gift Exchange

Letter Exchange Only: You are not responsible for sending your secret valentine a final gift at the end of the event. Instead, exchanges will be solely in the form of anonymous asks. At the end of the event, we ask that you reveal yourself with a short letter/note to your secret valentine. You may choose to do this either privately through a DM or a public post/ask.

hiii 💌💌!! for a very quiet start of the year -at least for me-, aouad had been a good distraction.. even though netflix was the devil for dropping all these 12eps all at once... bingeing 6~8 eps is much easier than 12eps.... do you want it to have a sequel or not..? thinking they were aiming for that with the semi open ending we've got, but i don't want one personally as i like that kdrama are one full season with a beginning, middle and an end!..... jan have been a bit dry so hopefully feb will be a better month for dramas...

yeah omg when i saw it was 12 episodes i was like holy hell how am i going to get through this but it took me like 2-3 days too lol i do like shorter bingeable netflix ones if they're going to drop them all at once.

i've said this many times but i never want a kdrama to have a second season unless it's really something that can or requires more storytelling. like hospital playlist was fine because it's basically like any sitcom or slice of life show it can go on for however long you want it to because there's no definite storyline. or kingdom because it was such a big story and they haven't solved the problems by the end of s1. but all of us are dead is pretty much done like i would accept it as it is but i did get a vibe that they were going for a second season. hopefully not, just see what happened to vagabond. the short and bingebale aspect is what's attractive to me and a lot of people about kdramas.

jan was a bit dry and i have a bunch of dramas on my list that are coming up but honestly none of them have me on the edge of my seat anticipating them i just kinda marked them like yeah I'll check if it's good.

my first drama is difficult because technically i started watching stranger/secret forest but i didn't finish it for a long time so my very first kdrama was touch your heart i think. before that i tried getting into jdramas but i think i chose some wrong ones because goddamn... i saw some gifsets on tumblr tbh and i also saw them on netflix so i decided to give them a try and i liked the variety of it like there's something for everyone.

i usually avoid saeguks and law/medical dramas unless the plot is not heavily revolving around it because they can bore the hell out of me with all the professional talk like i can lose interest very quickly.

helloooo!! ah no worries, I just hope it was a nice kind of busy and not the stressful kind 💜

I'm not really up to date with all the dramas coming out but I have a few in mind (usually because an actor/actress i like is in it or because people on here have talked about it a lot) although I'm not sure when they come out lol: tomorrow's premise sounds quite interesting (it kind of reminds me of mystic pop up bar and I really liked that drama), forecasting love and weather because park min young, also twenty five twenty one looks cute and I like the setting. there's also island (at first it was mainly because of seeing eunwoo outside of a romcom and ghosts shows are interesting and then lee da hee joined and I got even more excited, I loved her in search www) and soundtrack #1 which is more of a mini drama so that's very nice. and I think that's it? I need to check when they come out though because I'm not watching that many dramas at once lol

oh i like a lot of group aside from astro: nct (musically nct 127 is my favourite subunit), dreamcatcher, monsta x, btob (i love the soloist work of the members hyunsik a lot as well as ex-member ilhoon as well), superm, bvndit (back when they were actually doing things...),pentagon,sf9, red velvet stayc and tvxq (also love the members solo works), seventeen and then i really like the bands day6 and n.flying! i really like taemin, kai, boa (i haven't yet listened to all of her discography which spans decades but i love her latest two albums) and wonho as soloists. I don't follow all of them a lot outside of their music though unlike i do with astro, dreamcatcher or nct for example but i’ll check their new releases and and/or some variety content

as for my top 10...i don't really have one but here's my top 10 song from 2021 according to spotify which doesn't feature all the artists mentioned aboved or really represent how i'd rank my fave songs:

and i can tell you what i'm really into lately for kpop! the in:vite u mini album from pentagon (especially the songs the game, one shot and call my name), child by mark from nct (i might like the instrumental more than the song though), the restore mini album from jinjin and rocky from astro (especially the songs just breath and cpr) and changmin's devil mini album (especially fever, alien, maniac and devil)!

hello!!! thank you so much for this, it means a lot to see other people appreciating my work (especially since I want to make a business out of it) and yes I've been into these things for very long, I'm actually a fashion and textile designer, I've studied design and fashion for 6 years and I was especially very into fashion history before I started my studies but I originally wanted to be an actress so I didn't really learn any craft aside from drawing before I started my studies (I even told my mother when I was around 10 and tried to learn knitting that it was absolutely not for me and she loves to remind me of that whenever she sees me with my needles lmao) and then I started to learn to sew during the holidays before starting my first fashion degree and never really stopped since then lol I can sew, knit, embroider, draw and darn (a lot of these are self-taught because aside from sewing my degrees let us explore other techniques based on what we wanted to specialise in and what we needed in our projects and thankfully my brain is very apt at picking up thechniques - a sign that I picked the right path instead of going into whatever filed my teachers thought fitted me more lol) And yes I can make my clothes from sketch, that's what I was trained to do, I can create patterns (I wasn't trained as a seamstress/patternmaker but as a designer so I still need usually my book to help me along the way lol) and I know a lot about fabrics, styling and sewing techniques etc! I now have a good percentage of my wardrobe made by me, although most are not of my own designs but versions of patterns I got elsewhere (a shape someone else created and then I picked the fabric and assembled the whole thing) and adapted to me because as a fashion student most of the things I created were for school projects (and since it takes a lot of time, in my free time I didn't always want to have to think about all the details lo but now l'm not a student anymore so I have a lot more free time to explore things for my own wardrobe) But I can easily transform an existing pattern into something more my style if I need to, or transform an existing garnement into something new (I turned a long shirt dress into a short shirt and skirt this summer) and I've recently designed and made my first knitted piece from a to z! I also often use my skills to create gifts for people (I've embroidered tee-shirts with my own patterns, tablecloths or embroidery hoops for decoration or created illustration and I'm currently knitting a sweater for my mother that I'll embroider)

As for repair I have now repaired quite a lot of clothes because I work for an ethical fashion brand a couple of days a week after interning for them last year to create their repair and personalisation services so I do repair for their clients (mainly jeans and tee-shirts and they're more basic repairs, less creative so far than the sweater one I posted here and I use some different techniques but I love feeling useful and being a part of these clothes' life cycle to make them last longer). I started diving deeper into repair techniques during my internship as a way to complement my embroidery knowledge, especially for knitwear and I've now done around 10 knitwear repairs for me, my family and acquaintances including the sweater I posted here and hopefully I'll have done a lot more by the end of the year once I've launched my business!

and honestly I take a lot of pride in my textile crafts and design skills (especially because a lot of people didn't expect me to go into that and would say that creative studies like mine aren't challenging enough even if they are so hard and mentally stimulating and very very challenging or worth exploring because it doesn't lead to classic jobs), at this point I've been tested and challenged so many times, and have done enough presentations and projects to know that I'm good at it, I'm far from having finished learning, I can always get better especially when it comes to applying design skills to an actual business context which is not something I'm really trained in.

And please don't be jealous that I don't feel complete if I can't make my brain and hands work together to create something new so I didn't really have any other choice than to explore this path lol, it's just fun to me so I loved learning more about it and I was trained and worked hard to be as creative as I am now (your brain really is a muscle) and to be able to master skills or pick them up more easily so that I would have access to more possibilities and truly make my ideas come true (if I hadn't done every steps that led me here I wouldn't be as creative as I am now or not in the same way) so it's really about finding the field and the tools that speak to you and exploring them in your own way! and not everyone is creative in a way that creates objects or images, some people are super creative with words, with finding ways to teach people things, with computers, with numbers, with food, with business strategies, with sport strategies etc which are things I'm definitely not well versed in lol and I admire people who can dive into these

hello hello!! nice question ;) oh i really am a colour person, i wear a lot of different colours and almost all of my stuffs are colourful, i'm sort of destined to be purple since that's what my name means - hence the url and thankfully i really like most shades of purple/violet (i even have dark blue and purple glasses) so i'd be quite satisfied with that but i'm brighter as a personne and i really like deep yellows so i think purple and yellow can make for a very nice combo (a lilac purple and a deep yellow are so pretty together), or pinks/reds and blues (especially light blue and light pink or light blue and coral) also if you add a bit of gold and some black lines it instantly makes any combo better (whenever I think of colour combo I immediately think clothes or illustrations/patterns since that's what I make so I also see shapes lol) I really like most colours and most combinations unless it's based on shades between green and yellows and brown these mixes never look quite right to me (unless it's in a forest or a fields lol)

hello hello!! i'm having a very nice weekend (your previous questions got me thinking about the dramas i'd like to rewatch so i'm rewatching hospital ship and loving it! i'm also knitting my mother a sweater as i watch so it's been really nice) i'm glad we have similar tastes 😊

oooh tropes that's a very good question! i like so many ones including some really cliché ones like a pretty or emotional scene at the beach, an accidental confession, a nice hug (especially if it's to a person who's not used to receiving affection), a friends to lovers story or enemies to friends to lovers, i love slow burn angst especially if one thinks they don't deserve the other but of course they do they just don't love themselves!!!!!!!! and so they have to learn how love the other and themselves and accept love and it's so beautiful, i love love love a cohabitation!!!!, fake dating!!!!!!, love a second chance at love (doesn't have to be with the same person but there's an added angst if it is and that's nice), the found family trope (kdramas are often so good at mixing romance and community stories, reminding us that all types of connections are precious), the ride or die friends groups. hands, hands!!!, HANDS!! i love couples who start out bickering/teasing each other and then they get together and they're sweet but they're still bickering/teasing each other! i don't know if it's really a trope but i just love it when a couple has fun together and can make each other laugh. i love men who are devoted to their women and who love taking care of them and cherishing them and listening to them (especially when the woman is shown to be super competent). but i also love when they both actively take care of each other and defend each other so that it feels more balanced and both are allowed to be caretakers and cared for and it's so lovely. also i don't really know if it's a proper trope but i love when they have characters finding what they want to do in life, like changing their career or their studies or going to school for the first time or to get further training etc it's so good it's not just about the romance

i don't really like love triangles because it's just so rare that a character will actually love two people and hesitate so most of the time it makes no sense at all and it's so annoying and it's just a petty battle between men thinking a woman is a price to win or for women to be hateful toward each other or the second lead convincing himself on his own that he deserves the girl and not respecting her boundaries (although it can be twisted in interesting ways like in extraordinary you or hometown cha cha cha), i don't like when they have an adopted sibling fall in love with someone who only sees them as a sibling, or when they do a big timejump but then characters usually get back together in a hot second as if they hadn't changed at all in this time???, i don't like parents who are shown as mean for no reasons or just played as a joke (not saying all parents should be great , i do like drama lol butfor example in true beauty the mother was just mean to her daughter, constantly putting her down and only stopping when she learned she was being bullied and never apologised???), i don't like the "bad/violent/manipulative man gets redeemed for no reason at the end so that everyone can get a happy ending" trope (so i married an anti fan did this in the worst way possible because they made him disabled and then his girlfriend -that he beated and exploited - basically became his caretaker???), also re: wrist grabs : i hate when they have two men grabbing a woman at the same time like????? let her go???, also if a man is cold and softens up when he falls in love with a woman i don't mind it can be super cheesy and good but i don't like when he's only good towards her? and doesn't seem to have changed with anyone else because how can we love him if he doesn't respect people??

favorite actors/actresses (i don't really follow actors/actresses closely but these are the ones that made me check out a drama because they were in it at least once but i've rarely seen one of them in more than two roles tbh) : eunwoo (I'm also a fan of his group astro but I first got to know him as an actor), park gyu young (seeing her go from the small role of young assistant architect in just between lovers to her main role in dali and the cocky prince has been so satisfying!! she's probably one of the actresses I've seen in the most projects so far), kim min jae (I had seen him in do you like brahms but he was such a revelation in dali and the cocky prince he's absolutely made to do comedy), park eun bin, shin se kyung (her roles in rookie historian and run on are two of my favourite characters), lee junho (I watched him in chief kim and just between lovers and he plays these two opposite characters so so well), kwak dong yeon (when will he get his widely successful main role!!!) oh and nam ji hyun and park min young as well !
