KCModern was instrumental in the preservation of this Saturday Modern Tour site. It will house a theater and the Parks and Rec department. Keep an eye on this $22 million transformation into the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center. Their hours are Monday through Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Allow enough time to browse at this fab, cool “new” retro store. They describe themselves as a “Cabinet of Curiosities” with everything for the home and then some. at 7922 Santa Fe Drive, also in Old Overland Park. They are open Tuesday through Sunday at 6:00 am and close at 11:30 am weekends, 12:00 pm weekdays or when they sell out. Even the bar and the stools are original to when they opened almost 50 years ago. This classic donut shop opened its doors in 1967 and still operates much the same way. He is frequently asked by locals, visitors and people moving to the metro for a Modern Tour of Modern Kansas City. Bob Myers has long been the go-to guy for all things Modern in Kansas City.
