"Hey," Alex called through the door. "Are you sure you're okay?" He didn't answer, but the muffled noise from inside his room wasn't reassuring. She jiggled the handle. "Can you just open up for a second?" A freshman boy walked past her in the hallway and made a confused face at her; she shot a dirty look back at him and he hurried away. "I don't want to shout at you through the door."

She strained to listen. No answer.

"Hotch, either you open the door or I'm letting myself in," she called. He didn't answer her, and that worried her. "Jesus. Okay. I guess I'm doing this."

She pulled a bobby pin out of her hair and jammed it into the lock. The doorknob was old and cheap and it didn't take much effort to pop it open. "I told you so!" she said as she walked into his room and nudged the door shut behind her, but he wasn't there and the lights were off. She frowned. "Hotch?"

‪People are confused... You can sing along all you want to. The catch is that they don’t let patrons take over the mic except in select situations. That said, when we were there recently they did let someone on the mic that was CRAZY good.

I’m a little hesitant to ask, but I have a question about completed fanfiction. It is ever a thing where someone could go in and proofread a fic and make corrections? I have a story that I love, but the missed words & incorrect use of words makes it hard to read sometimes. I would love to offer my services, but I am wondering if that is a huge slap in the face to a writer, & I should just keep going, or actually try to offer my time? For example: “Sorry, I shouldn't cup an attitude.”

This is a tough one. I too have read fics with a really great premise but stopped because the grammar, spelling, and punctuation were awful. I know that some people write fics on their phone, but seriously, how can they expect people to read stuff without following basics like capitalization? 

I once received PM from a reader who informed me that I had several punctuation errors in my story, and would I like her to point them out. Busted... I suck at using commas! I thought that if this person was willing to go through my story with a fine-tooth comb, I was more than willing to do the edits. This person is now a really important part of my beta team, and they do a lot more than fix my still problematic comma use.

All I can say is proceed cautiously, be gracious with your offer, and back off if they don’t answer or decline. What do others think? Let us know in the comments to this post.

I had to drive cross country and now I have to quarantine for 12 more days. To keep from going nuts I’m reading a TON. What are you favorite really long stories or verses? I just re-read Crowded House and it took me just over 2 days. I just would like to immerse myself in one universe a day rather than several. I keep getting characters and situations mixed up if I read several shorter fics in a day. :)

Throwing out a weird one-About 3 years ago I first started reading fanfic and I read a fic that I can NOT find again. Kurt is badly injured in an attack at McKinley and loses his sight. When he gets to Dalton he gets recruited into a CRAZY version of the Warblers where they are unbelievable dancers. Even blind, Kurt learns to do all of their crazy choreo, including jumping off stuff. Burt is freaking, because another blow to the head could kill him, but Blaine promises to protect him.

Blaine eventually gets to leave, but then has to come back when he backslides into depression again. Okay, I’ve been looking and looking, and I can’t find this fic. It’s driving me crazy, ‘cause I’m pretty sure I’ve READ it.

The part about the son’s fiancé asking Klaine for his hand in marriage makes me think of Wandering Around Back to You by @munchkinpandas24, but that’s not with the Warblers. Apart from Klaine, the other characters are all OCs, if memory serves.

In @darriness‘ Klaine verse, their son ends up gay, too, I believe, and dating Rachel and Jesse’s son. But they stay in NYC in that verse, if I’m not mistaken.

Aargh, this is so frustrating! Readers, can you please help us find this story? Thanks in advance for your help!

Spencer whipped his head around to stare up at Hotch in frightened desperation. "I'm his resident advisor, can't I sit in on this?" Hotch asked.

"I'm afraid not," Dr. Ryan said. He nodded towards the door, and Hotch got up reluctantly.

"I'm sure we'll discuss everything with you once we have the chance to talk to Spencer," Cruz reassured him.

He was not reassured, but he got up from his chair and squeezed Spencer's narrow shoulder, then slipped out into the hallway. There was no point in arguing. All he could do was wait, and hope that Spencer could speak up for himself.

"Yes, but will those letters come along with full ride scholarships?" she asked, flipping through her notebook. "Because you know as well as I do that without a scholarship, I'll be living at home with my parents, going to community college in Kansas, babysitting my dad's coworker's kids and doing my brothers' laundry."
