#kaveh freaked out the next morning

I just had this dumb little kavetham/haikaveh idea and I wanted to write it out-

Kaveh comes home after one of his many long nights at Lambad's, Alhaitham sitting on the couch rereading one of his books (totally not waiting for Kaveh to make sure he came home safe no why would you ever assume that). Kaveh walks in a drunken daze, incoherently babbling about something or the other. Before Alhaitham could address him, he flopped onto the couch, his head landing on his thigh. Now, if Kaveh was sober, he would've never even considered doing such a thing, but drunken Kaveh couldn't care less at the moment. As for Alhaitham, his mind almost completely stopped operating. Thankfully he perfected his poker face, so no one from an outsider's perspective could tell what he was thinking.

He didn't mind Kaveh choosing to use his lap as a pillow, but, it did leave him in a compromising situation.

"Kaveh?"

The only response he received was soft snoring.

Well. What was he to do from here?

Hypothetically, he could simply push Kaveh's head off his lap and take him to his room where he could rest properly. To test this, Alhaitham reached down and gently began to push Kaveh's head off his lap-

"Mngh...."

Okay, so that wasn't happening. Alhaitham almost immediately retreated his hand in order to not disturb the sleeping architect further.

The best case scenario would be to stay on the couch until Kaveh awoke, however, after one of his drunken sessions, Kaveh always slept like a lug. He wouldn't be getting up anytime soon, which would prove to be an issue because he was planning on getting up early to get some work done. And sleeping on the couch would most certainly leave him feeling groggy the next morning. He could always just wake up Kaveh- no. Absolutely not. He was sleeping to soundly and not even Alhaitham had the heart to do so. Besides, Kaveh had been pulling all nighters over a specific client for the past few days. This was probably the first time he was allowing himself to properly rest. But....his work. But Kaveh- but if he didn't get up early to take care of his work he would most surely be working overtime the next day. The most logical thing to do here would be to wake up Kaveh.

Yes. Just wake him up.

Wake him up.

Just....wake him up.

....

But he looks so peaceful like this-

After much more inner debate, Alhaitham eventually gave up and ended calling asleep on the couch with the blonde peacefully dozing off on his lap.

Alhaitham ain’t gonna be happy about this one… imagine coming up to your partner being both an emotional panicked mess and also Literally a Slime

The horror content of your body slowly melting away and becoming nothing but goo is absolutely terrifying I think kaveh’s freak out is very valid and warranted tbh

Much as I love goofy magic prank shenanigans I am a sucker for horror as well and would be! remiss!! to not have some happen to the favourite little guy! so this has been fun

As for Alhaitham- he may have had some trouble getting into the bathroom to check on the situation, but!

What's one overnight stay in the bathroom going to hurt anyone? (don't worry about the plant growth, the most anybody caught was a cold the next morning.)

Here's some hurt/comfort

Cw: angst, A relationship between two unhealthy people, Kaveh freaking out.

Your relationship with your boyfriend wasn't always the healthiest. At least the two of you are aware of that. However, neither of you is willing to make a change.

Kaveh gives everything and is all to help people, even the clothes on his back, and you are working yourself to exhaustion to unhealthy amounts. Kaveh used to do the same, though he's been getting better about that, so his heart aches when he sees you doing the same things that would ultimately lead him down darker paths.

Now he got a taste of what his roommate felt when he had to get you from Tighnari after you passed out on your shift in the middle of the jungle. He's not going to lie he did freaked out.

A lot.

Tearing his room apart to find his keys, before rushing out the door. When he bust through the door of his fox friend's clinic, Tighnari knew he had to give you to some space.

Kaveh looked terrible. His normal, neat, and well-dressed self had on clothes from yesterday. His hair, usually done every morning, was disheveled with a lack of his usual hairpins.

And you, who was just now coming out of your heat stroke or poison or whatever the fuck you did when you were on your morning excursion. You are good ranger, One of the best even. You just... Worried him sometimes.

Tighnari gave Kaveh a pat on the shoulder before leaving his clinic letting the two of you sit in silence. Your head was still pounding, your stomach turning, but not from the poison or the heat stroke; it was because Kaveh was refusing to look at you as he sat beside your bed, his fingers intertwined, trying to calm his shaky hands.

And then you broke the silence. "So how was your day?"

Kaveh couldn't hold back anymore.

"How could you say that after what happened to you??!"

Oh boy the guilt was already coming.

"Kaveh its wasn't that bad..."

Kaveh stands up in his chair his fist clenched His eyes already getting red as tears threatened to come out "Not that bad?! You passed out in the forest!! Alone! It took them hours to find you!!!."

His breathing start to grow heavy and fast as he continues to ramble. "What if they couldn't find you!! What if they didn't find you? What could have happened to you!! ___You could have died!"

His hands were getting shaky; You were getting wobbly, too. Overwhelmed by his yelling, his anger, his panic, but as a ranger trained under a doctor and being the partner of a very anxious architect, at least you knew what to do. You reached out your hand to hold his your thumb gently grazing over the back of his hand until his breathing started to calm down finally.

Kaveh knew he shouldn't have exploded like that, And by the scared look on your face he knew he'd gone too far "I'm sorry. I'm just-I'm just scared..." He put his hand over yours.

"can I hold you?"

You nodded, feeling dizzy, as you slowly tried to get up from your bed, but you didn't care. You want it to be in the arms of your lover. You felt his wet cheeks against yours as he nuzzled into your face. His lips gently rushed against your skin as many times as he could as he held you so close as if he was afraid to let go. His hand never letting go of yours as you continue to brush your thumb over the back of his.

"please be careful next time."

𑁍༄Diluc:

Diluc would kneel down by the edge of the water, his hands cupped together as he reached into the cool blue lake, retrieving a small, adorable yellow ball of fluff that would quack happily up at him. "Well...hello there little one." He'd say to the animal, greeting it with a small smile, but because it would have no idea what he was saying, it'd quirk its head to the side curiously before pecking his nose with its beak as if it were giving him a kiss to say hello.

You'd watch the whole scene unfold and try not to die from cuteness overload as he carefully returned the baby duckling to the water, the rest of its family swimming along with it.

𑁍༄Albedo:

Albedo would notice the group of baby ducklings waddling clumsily around the waters edge, their mother swimming gracefully around as her little ones played in the sunshine and instantly get inspired to draw. He'd take a seat on a nearby log and gesture for you to sit by him while he sketched, their adorable little quacks making the perfect background noise, as the two of you watched them.

Suddenly one of the ducklings would get very brave, making its way towards you both until it was barely a foot away and then it would look up at you two like it was unsure what to do next. "Awe aren't you a brave little duckling." Albedo would say, leaning down to gently pet the baby animals head with his finger, he'd chuckle at it's cute actions as it waddled back to its family and you'd sit there in shock at how sweet that all was.

𑁍༄Itto:

Itto and you would get caught in the rain after a morning of beetle fights and while the two of you searched for a place to wait out the storm you'd notice a group of baby ducks trying to make their way from under a bridge to a nearby log, that you could only assume was their home. Every time one attempted to leave the safety of the bridge, they'd almost get knocked over by the large water droplets and just as you were about to suggest helping them you'd realize Itto had already left your side.

You'd watch in amazement as he carefully picked up a branch that had fallen off the nearby tree, holding it over the ducklings as each one waddled to their log home. He'd get entirely soaked in the process, his white hair flat and sticking to his skin, his clothes absolutely drenched like he'd just went swimming and yet...he'd have a huge smile. "Just call me the duckling hero!" He'd say and it would be like you'd fallen in love with him all over again.

𑁍༄Kaveh:

Kaveh would be looking for inspiration for his new blueprints with you by his side as moral support and after searching for awhile to no avail, the two of you would stop by the nearby lake for a quick brunch. Before you had even unpacked the food though, a swarm of baby ducklings would surround Kaveh, staring up at him as they quacked to get his attention. "Awwwe you're all so cute." He'd say, reaching down to gently pet them and chuckling sweetly as they pecked his fingers gently.

You'd sit there with your kamera and take pictures as the ducklings climbed on him, one even somehow making its way onto the top of his head.

𑁍༄Heizou:

Heizou would be sitting with you by a pond, pink cherry blossoms fluttering around you, as the two of you talked about his most recent mystery and attempted to solve it while eating desserts. You'd be interrupted mid sentence though as he started laughing hysterically, wiggling around as if someone had begun to tickle him. "Heizou? You all right?" You'd ask with a eyebrow raised and he's attempt to answer, but get caught off by yet another burst of laughter.

Just as you were starting to get freaked out he'd reach into the open part of his shirt and carefully retrieve the culprit of his abrupt laughter, a baby duckling that had crawled into his clothes when he wasn't paying attention. "Aha, so you're the one causing trouble, should I arrest you now...or tell your mother and let her think of your punishment?" He'd say jokingly, the baby duck however would simply quack in response before jumping out of his hands and waddling quickly back to the pond.

𑁍༄Wanderer:

Wanderer would be walking along beside you, the two of you out to enjoy nature...or rather you out to enjoy nature and him being dragged along with you, when suddenly you both would start hearing little quacks trailing behind you. You'd look to see what was going on before bursting into laughter at the sight...five baby ducks made a neat little line behind Wanderer, follow him like he was their mother.

"Looks like you've adopted five little ones!" You'd exclaim and he'd turn around to see what you'd meant, only to be met with five pairs of little eyes staring right back at him. You'd giggle as he attempted to shoo them away, only for them to reform into a line behind him everytime he turned around. "I'm not your mother, go away!" He'd try, but nothing would work, they'd continue to follow him till the two of you found their actual mother and returned them to her.

And while he loathes to admit it truthfully in the presence of others, he and Haitham do know each other best—even if he can never claim to fully comprehend the logic and sensibility (or lack thereof) behind the demented inner workings of the man’s prodigious intellect. "Pineapple on pizza?” Kaveh scoffs, repulsed by the very idea. “Hmph, you truly are a heathen sometimes.” "Pineapple glazed ham is a perfectly serviceable taste for Christmas,�� Haitham counters evenly, seemingly unruffled. “So, what makes this combination suddenly unacceptable when it's on pizza?" You can take out the trash instead!” The next day, he returns home to see Haitham lounging comfortably on the sofa with a book in one hand (normal) and a pair of chopsticks in another hand (… weird, but okay, Haitham didn’t seem to dislike the Chinese takeouts Kaveh had brought home the last couple of times, so). Haitham glances up from his reading when he hears Kaveh shrugging off his coat, never taking his eyes off Kaveh’s questioning look as he slowly lifts his hand. Kaveh scowls at what looks like a freaking potato chip perfectly balanced between Haitham’s chopsticks, only to frown harder when his roommate reaches towards the coffee table to scoop up—Is that… salsa? Oh god, that is salsa, what the actual fuc—some store-bought salsa from an opened jar. “Salsa and Ruffles potato chips?” Kaveh looks like he’s ready to have an aneurysm, veins bulging almost comically at his temples. “Really? No, really?! Salsa and Ruffles potato chips?!” Haitham only shrugs nonchalantly, dipping another potato chip into the salsa jar with his chopsticks. “We ran out of tortillas. I think the chips would have gone well with some guacamole too, but I’d already finished the last avocado with toast this morning.” “Salsa and Ruffles potato chips.” Kaveh is still pinching the bridge of his nose as he processes this latest fusion perversion. He flops down beside his roommate on the sofa, crinkling his nose in distaste. “Next thing I know you’d be eating cornflakes with orange juice.” Haitham’s expression turns contemplative, before he brightens and opens his mouth. “What about with apple jui—” “No,” Kaveh snaps tersely, even as he begrudgingly chomps down on the salsa-dipped chip that Haitham presses to his lips with the chopsticks. “Absolutely not.” Haitham’s smirk is barely discernible as he hums softly with amusement. (Thankfully, they had bacon, eggs and toast the next morning like normal people; Kaveh could almost forgive Haitham for accidentally adding salt into his yogurt fruit cup.)

Week 1: January 1 through the 7th

Monday - January 1 -

First day of the year and I had the day off work! So it was a good day to work on my Twisted Wonderland Universe. I currently have about 19 ocs inside the universe that I am calling The Twisted Compendium. I've been attempting to finish the unique spells for everyone. It is so much harder than I imaged, but I did finish what their spell does. Now, I just have to give their unique spells their name and incantation.

Tuesday - January 2-

Work was insanely busy after the long holiday so I had little time to actually commit to any actual writing. I did some Ser blurbs. She is my angel oc for What in Hell is Bad and she is with the Avivos group (mostly Beel). Since all the citizens of Beelzebub's country have a piercing from Beel himself that is proof their citizenship, I kinda ran with that idea. Amon asked where she'd get the piercing, and the fic got very 18+ from there.

Wednesday - January 3-

Another insanely busy work day. Did more for my twisted wonderland universe. Since it takes place after the majority of the main story in the game, I worked on where the main cast was during NRC's three year hiatus and their reason for returning to the school. NRC not only adds an upper level of learning (basically like a "graduate" school) but also becomes co-ed.

Thursday - January 4-

I had to go into office on site for half of my shift due to my monitor being broken and I had to bring it in to exchange it with the tech team. So I was on my work computer in a cubicle so anything I worked on had to be SFW. I have a whole tab for Nesrine, Alhaitham's adorable bby daughter. And she's who I worked on.

Friday - January 5-

Corette and Silvio kinda day. I write more of them in the future of their story than of the next chapter of Game of Hearts. Silvio brings Corette along for one of his voyages and there is drinking, and gambling, and Silvio has one of his 'shit I may actually like her' moments. I freaking love these two together.

Saturday - January 6-

I didn't do too much on Saturday. I was pretty busy with taking my dog to the vet in the morning and then going to my sister's for the evening. I did attempt to write a little something, and it was Sirin. Sirin is Kaveh's little sister and is paired with Alhaitham. Basically, she disappeared for three years and upon her return she goes to Alhaitham's to crash until she figures out what to tell Kaveh... only to walk in the door and Kaveh is there.

Sunday - January 7-

And today! I cleaned, a lot. My whole room. So, my brain is not functioning enough to write anything coherent. I did crack open my Twisted Wonderland notebook to work on the ocs some more, however, I probably won't get much done.

That is my entire week! Mostly Twisted Wonderland and OC planning but I did do more than I thought I would. 51 weeks to go!
