boothill who gets way too worked up before the two of you have even started any intimacy.
you don't even have to do anything, straddling him while he's practically strip teasing you himself, removing each garment oh-so slowly so that he doesn't rush it and ruin everything. every peek at your bare skin has his circuits going into a tizzy, his breaths slowly devolving into needy panting.
"god, ya look so gorgeous..." he murmurs, huffing as he tries to keep himself composed. his cold hands brush along your bare shoulders, down your back, feeling up your waist until he's back at your chest. "fuuuudge..."
he would be doing a good job at keeping himself decently composed. that is, if his circuits and inner workings weren't whirring so loudly you could barely hear each other's voices by this point.
you chuckle to yourself as his face lights up, unwilling to meet your gaze and instead focusing right on your chest like a pervert to avoid your mischievous eyes.
"getting a little excited, boothill dear?"
"y... you keep your mouth shut!"

So... hannibal the series has been on my mind a lot the last few days and I have some thoughts and maybe had a small epiphany lol
Sorry if this is something said/understood by everyone else. I'm always a bit late to the game
I don't remember if it's explicit in the series, but there seems to be an understood headcanon maybe, that Hannibal doesn't think of what he does as cannibalism. Further, he treats the majority of his victims flippantly and grotesquely like they are less than human. As if what he is committing is not really murder because his victims aren't fully human.
Its sociopathic/psychotic. Yeah, we get that. I get that.
Yet, we see a certain level of vulnerability in Hannibals interactions with the group of people he chooses to associate with on the regular, like Alana and sometimes Jack, but especially Will.
I've always struggled with the why of that. If Hannibal believes himself to be above humanity, at least to a certain extent, his group of friends included, then how could he be vulnerable with them. Why bother being vulnerable with your next potential meal. And even more so when he gives them an out. Like Alana. He offers her an out. To forget what she saw and turn around and even more, to live a life where she wouldn't have to live looking over her shoulder. I believe he was honest there. Mads does an incredible job of letting us know that this is a real offer. Hannibals disappointment and sadness when she refuses is visceral. But why?
Why offer at all? If Alana isn't fully human, why bother giving her an out.
And I think, hence, minor epiphany time, it's because he doesn't consider her another potential victim, at least not the way he considers the people he eats. He considers her human. Considers her an equal even. To kill her would be murder in his eyes, and it bothers him in a way his other victims don't bother him. You could even argue that at least in mizumono, he doesn't kill her. He's willing to, sure, to keep himself, to keep his found family safe, but in the end, he doesn't, at least not directly.
In comparison, he does not treat Beverly the same. He does not give her a chance to walk away. As far as we know, he doesn't say a word to her. And realistically, these two interactions are insanely similar except for how Hannibal reacts.
Both times, Hannibal has been revealed. Both times, Hannibals way of life is put in danger. Maybe even more so in mizumono because Will has betrayed him and he is literally flinging himself at a door to try and finish Jack. Yet, he gives Alana a choice that he did not make to Beverly.
It's because he considers Alana human, where Beverly is just another cut of meat. In his mind, what he does to Beverly is not murder. He would be murdering Alana and so he gives her a chance to walk away and only lashes out when she refuses.
And it's interesting too that after Mizumono, how Hannibal treats Alana is still not quite how he treats other victims. He steals the coat that offered her comfort, he reminds her every chance he gets that he will keep his promise and that she is a dead woman walking. Yet, he still listens to her. Still is willing to compromise with her when needed. She is still an equal, but he was vulnerable with her and she hurt him in response, so he hurts her in whatever way he can get away with when it's prudent and doesn't risk the life of Will.
It just... it's so... Mads is so incredible for this. The writers are so incredible for this.
I started by reading the books and watching Anthony Hopkins and my circe those things are insanely good. But Anthony Hopkins portrayal is of a man who believes himself a g-d. A boy with his Ant farm. Curious and viscous in equal measure. There is no person suit, there is no humanity in him there.
But Mads. My darling Mads. He makes Hannibal human. He forces us to remember that he is human. That Hannibal is a someone who hurts, who loves, who hates, who is petty and playful and of course is absolutely still a child with his Ant farm who at any minute can reach into his pocket and pull out a magnifying glass to set the world he enjoys watching aflame.
Thank you for sticking with me if you have, and I hope this makes some kind of lick of sense. I probably have more to say, but my break is over lol

That jing yuan x vidyadhara!reader fic has got to be one of my favorites of all time so far, like the potential of them learning to love one another again as completely different persons and all the angst as reader may watch as Jing Yuan is the one getting hurt this time around during the quest and find themselves worried to death (also possibly rediscover glimpses of their memories together through dreams)
Jing Yuan has just got me wrapped around his finger 😔 smh
AWWW OMG THANK YOU IM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT!!!
yeah I KILL for angst at all times and after seeing so many vidyadhara quests where the vidyadhara fell in love w/ the same person in this reincarnation as their past reincarnation .... oooogh.... the potential
considering vidyadhara can't remember anything about their past life since it was essentially a different person entirely, I just picture jing yuan trying to show reader pictures of them together and reader can feel some intrinsic emotions from that past life but it's just .... they can't remember it. it's not in their mind. it wasn't their life, their current life that is.
and seeing jing yuan be so forlorn over dan heng not remembering dan feng and telling him staunchly that he is NOT dan feng, and jing yuan's quiet, soft acceptance.... imagining that he has 10x as difficult a time accepting that his past flame, his lover, looks just like he remembers... but they aren't the same person ..... .... .. AUUUUUGHG (₌ ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣ ᆽ ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣₌)(₌ ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣ ᆽ ᵕ̣̣̣̣̣₌)

The poetry that inspired Jeff Buckley
Aimee Ferrier
Sun 1 October 2023 21:15, UK
Voices as incredible as the one belonging to Jeff Buckley don’t come around too often. Unfortunately, after releasing one record, Grace, Buckley, with all his potential, was taken away too soon. At the age of 30, the singer went for a swim from which he never returned, drowning in the Mississippi River.
Yet, his legacy lives on as one of the most influential artists to emerge from the 1990s, and his music is widely celebrated today for its emotional and lyrical complexity. Not only did Buckley possess an otherworldly voice, but he was also an extremely gifted guitar player and writer, with all his talents combining to create a masterful body of work.
Even when Buckley was covering other artists’ songs, such as ‘Lilac Wine’, ‘The Other Woman’ and ‘Hallelujah’, he imbued the pieces with his own distinctive style. Yet, his penchant for covers wasn’t a reflection of an aversion to writing. Buckley knew how to pen a stunningly poetic track, with songs like ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’ and ‘Morning Theft’ suggesting that even if Buckley didn’t have the vocal pipes he was gifted with, he’d get by just fine as a writer.
Buckley took inspiration from many different writers and musicians when writing his own songs. Musically, Buckley looked back to folk artists like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and, of course, his own father, Tim Buckley, from whom he was estranged. Elsewhere, he loved the work of Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the rich tones of Nina Simone, and Led Zeppelin, calling Robert Plant “my man”.
However, when it came to his literary inspirations, Buckley had an extensive book collection, which he no doubt looked to for ideas when writing his lyrics. He owned a lot of poetry, with Rainer Maria Rilke proving to be a particular favourite. Not only did Buckley own Dunio Elegies, Rilke on Love and Other Difficulties: Translations and Considerations Poems from the Book of Hours, but he also owned his epistolary collection Letters to a Young Poet.
Buckley was also a fan of the classic American poet Walt Whitman, owning Leaves of Grass and From the Soil. Of course, no poetry collection is complete without copies of Arthur Rimbaud’s A Season in Hell and Illuminations, alongside some Charles Baudelaire – Buckley-owned Paris Spleen. The singer also owned the Selected Poems of confessional poet Anne Sexton and modernist writer T.S Eliot.
Check out Buckley’s complete poetry collection below.
