Honestly it's not worth arguing with moscovites about history. All they know is propaganda. It has been propaganda ever since Peter decided to steal the name Rus from Ukraine and Belarus. They will tell you about how you don't know history while still thinking that ruzzia never genocided or ethnocided anyone. They will not even know any real historical event. They will have no idea about how ruzzia partnered up with Nazi Germany to break apart Poland, they will only say they fought Nazis. They will claim that they have never participated in slavery... but then they had slaves but then renamed them into serfs, who still had no rights and whose owners had power over their entire lives and the right to literally sell them or trade them like animals.

Katsaps have always been weak willed and corrupted, knowing nothing but what their master tells them. They are primitive in the soul and I am tired of pretending like you can have a conversation with them. Especially about history. You can claim to have "good ruzzian" friends but lets face it, they are only fluffy until they are faced with the truth. Then they know nothing, after which when you tell them the truth they suddenly know everything. They lie and lie and lie.

That is exactly why when ruzzian family members of Ukrainians did not believe them when we told them what ruzzia was doing at the start of the war. This is exactly why ruzzian "family" members ignored and disowned Ukrainians when we simply tried TELLING THEM what was happening. Thats why you have katsap mothers and daughters and wives happily telling their "normal ruzzian" husbands and sons to kill and rape Ukrainians, to steal our shit with glee and laughter.

Outsiders want to view katsaps with empathy and sympathy and to give them the benefit of the doubt because they like and even adore the bloody ruzzian culture and propaganda. They don't want to admit that the country they learn the language of and aesthetic boards they create in dream of are filthy lies built on the dead bodies of Ukrainians.

And this is why I hate ruzzian culture appreciation posts when they use the geographical areas of ethnic Ukrainian land, once again appropriating Ukrainian culture using the lands that they stole. They hate the fact that any beauty in their culture they have has either been stolen from Ukrainians or influenced by Ukrainians. There are so many accounts dedicated to taking the Ukrainian ethnos and calling it ruzzian without elaborating that its Ukrainian.

I do not really see a point. What they do defines them well enough, I doubt some word could do better. However, it does not hurt to drop the capital letter - "russia, russians, moscow" - as has become customary in Ukraine during last year.

Historically, of course, we have been been calling them moskals or katsaps. I personally would hesitate to call either a slur proper (though it of course depends on your definitions). moskal is derived from moscow and would be neutral originally, but since it was used to refer to russian occupying soldiers, over centuries it absorbed negative associations. katsap appears to be a borrowing from one of several Turkic and Slavic languages which have this word with the meaning "butcher"; it came to signify russians as a result of their imperialistic crimes commited in Ukraine and other countries. What I would like to point out here is that both words came to exist with their modern meaning and connotation not based on some arbitrary characteristic or stereotype, but as a direct result of russian imperialism. By looking at them, we see russia's role in Ukrainian history.

Fact Check: Photo Does NOT Show Remains Of Russian Soldiers Crushed 'Into Meat Cubes'

Did a viral photo capture the bodies of Russian soldiers mashed together into a rectangular piece of flesh "for easy transportation"? No, that's not true: The image showed previously frozen but then thawed pet food left in the streets of a Russian village near the border with Ukraine.

The claim appeared in a tweet posted on July 4, 2023. It said:

No body bags? No problem! Just crush your comrades into meat cubes for easy transportation!

The tweet included a variety of photos showing some unrecognizable and unidentifiable mass. In some pictures, it was wrapped in plastic. Others showed the mass uncovered.

Besides Twitter, these images were simultaneously posted on Reddit, 4chan and spread through various English-language Telegram channels (for example, here). Many of the posts claiming the pictures showed human remains contained language that overtly referred to Russian soldiers. Some of those words were "katsaps" and "mobiks." Both are derogatory terms frequently used on Ukrainian social media to describe Russian soldiers. The former is a colloquial description of Russians, the latter is a short form for the "mobilized" that became mocking predominantly because of the context in which it tends to be used.

The tweet which is the focus of this fact check also made a subtle reference to Russians by using the word "comrades," typically associated with the Soviet Union. During the pandemic, Russia amended its constitution, additionally spelling out that it considers itself the USSR's successor.

However, the pictures didn't show the remains of Russian soldiers -- or any other humans.

A search across Telegram channels provided some context: The photos were reported to have been taken by the residents of the Belgorod region in Russia. They complained about a terrible smell on July 3, 2023:

The original Russian-language wording of the post did not imply that the pictures showed crushed dead bodies. It included a very specific word "остатки." While it can be translated into English as "remains," it is typically used to describe leftovers, not dead bodies. For that, a native Russian speaker would choose a different word whose spelling, ironically, is different only by one letter: "останки."

The post named a specific location: the village of Grafovka, Verhnyaya Street, building 5. This address is located in the Shebekino district of the Belgorod region in Russia. That area was affected by the war that spilled outside of the borders of Ukraine.

As the shelling intensified, the regional authorities announced voluntary evacuation at the beginning of June 2023. But locals who often did not often have an opportunity to bring their pets with them or did not expect the evacuation to continue for a prolonged period of time complained that the animals were left there without food. On June 2, 2023, the region's governor promised to feed the pets.

On July 4, 2023, Russian-language news websites (here, here and here) reported that a local pet shelter named "Angel" received 2 tons of frozen meat scraps but they were left unrefrigerated in the streets due to a lack of moving equipment. On its page on the Russian social media platform Vk.com, the shelter mentioned that it receives pet food from charity organizations.

Go 31, a Belgorod news website, reached out to the shelter whose owner, Irina Kharitonova, as translated by DeepL, confirmed that they received meat as humanitarian aid but couldn't transport the frozen pet food anywhere further to be able to preserve it:

They brought it in, and we can't get it into the yard. The administration, ecology and veterinary department have already attacked us. We called all the tractors, but they are busy. We don't know what to do. It is unclear when we will be able to clean it up.

On July 5, 2023, another Russian-language website Bel.ru reported that meat scraps were taken away. It cited Deputy Governor of the Belgorod region Julia Tschedrina who said, as translated by DeepL:

At present, the products have been removed. The state veterinary service disinfected the roadway.

Lead Stories searched for older examples of these images' use in a different context but didn't find anything that would contradict the story about spoiled pet food.

It is in no way a "both sides are bad!" Or "civil conversion". You can not be comparing the two when there is such a clear distinction of the nature in insults and the reasons for it. Not a single generation of Ukrainians were left without feeling ruzzian aggression. If only they put that much effort in understanding the severity of the issue than policing Ukrainians for their reactions and language around their country and families being in danger and continuously assaulted for no other reason than being Ukrainian in Ukraine.

The West imposes sanctions and all of a sudden every Russian is a political refugee 😒 I think all those people who now claim to be very anti-putin need to unite and maybe do something about their government instead of going to other countries and begging for asylum since it's seems there's an awful lot of them.
