backstories meme.

born in a middle class family with two younger siblings, dylan rhodes had a normal childhood and adolescence. he wasn’t great at school, but he bound up being a popular guy who was good at sports due to his height. having a very tall dad came in handy for it and he signed up for basketball as soon as he could, giving him some popularity. in fact, he was pretty much one of the jocks, except he was kinder than the rest of them. dylan didn’t let it go to his head, but he had to admit he enjoyed what that offered: he was popular with girls and he was often invited to the parties some rich kids threw, which is why sometimes people thought he was one of them.

the only think that differentiated him from them was his passion for photography. his dad was a photographer and he was always in awe at the pictures he showed him of whatever he caught on camera, whether it was people, landscapes or simple objects that looked way less ordinary thanks to his dad’s magic. his dad gave him a camera for his 12th birthday and that was the moment he knew he wanted to do it for the rest of his life. dylan never had any jobs besides the usual ones he took during summer when he was free, but after saving for so long and the money he got every year from his grandparents on christmas, he bought his first camera at the age of 16. after that, he couldn’t stop putting it to good use and took pics of everything around him.

dylan went to university to get a degree in photography and fine arts and earned his money as an assistant to a teacher during his senior year, helping them out with whatever photoshoots he had lined up for the day during the weekends as long as that wasn’t disrupting dylan’s schedule. it didn’t pay much but at least he got the experience he needed and contacts that would help him out in the future once he graduated and could finally get his name out there as a professional photographer.

2. What are 2-5 already published nonfiction books you think you want to read in 2023? I'm currently working my way through Spare and just finished Chase Darkness With Me, which has been on my list forever. Also planning to read Educated, Caste, and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

8. Are there any reading challenges you want to try? I'm still getting back into reading consistently, so for right now, it's just a challenge against myself to read more than I did last year.

Connor almost lost the mumbled words underneath the crackling of the fire and even as he turned his head to look at her, he wasn’t sure he hadn’t just been hearing things. 

She wasn’t looking at him, staring into the dancing of the flames. Nothing on her face told him she was tugging any hidden emotion reluctantly to the forefront of her words. His lips tried to shape themselves around sounds that fluttered away from him like trying to sink your teeth into a cloud.

Maybe he shouldn’t have been so taken aback. But it was Addie. Addie who could sometimes be as expressive as the person that had decided to take care of her. He hardly heard anything from her that wasn’t a tease about his height or a question trying to nose into his business. Business that had all come tumbling forward over the past few weeks. His side still ached with the dull pain that had brought it. Maybe that’s why she’d said it. 

Without an answer to his question, without bothering to repeat what she may or may not have said, he felt Addie’s head come into contact with his shoulder. The pressure of it didn’t leave. Connor found himself stilling. He was glad that he had the fire as an excuse for why his cheeks had suddenly flared up in a blush. At least he could say to Lara, whose eyes had suddenly slid over their way, that he had been sitting too close to it. He was also glad that Dane happened to be on watch at that very moment. Maybe Addie had been biding her time too. She was clever like that. 

Relaxing his shoulders a little, Connor readjusted himself with a quiet wince, making sure that Addie wasn’t about to fall. He waited for a very long spell before he said anything.

         Deciding that him and Clara hadn’t gone on a date night for awhile, Hendrix had planned on doing something cute and fun for their six month anniversary. He had firstly, rented a horse drawn carriage that would take them to the park nearby that was having a fair and then from there he was going to spoil her that night. Whatever Clara wanted, Hendrix would give to her. 

         As he saw her coming up to him, Hendrix got out of the carriage and rushed over to hr so that he could give her his arm. “Clara, hey.” He said and smiled up at her. “You look beautiful. Are you ready for a horse drawn carriage that’’s fit for a queen like you?” Hendrix asked and winked at his girlfriend. “I have a whole bunch of things planned tonight. I hope you wore your walking shoes.”

ALESSIA/KIRA

eventually, alessia asks kira to move in with her. most of the time, they've been finding each other spending the night at one place or another, and sometimes even a few days in a row, so it makes sense they finally shared one place. alessia would offer hers in a bit since it's slightly bigger, and even if kira tried to offer hers instead, they both know alessia's place is much better.

have you heard about couples matching outfits for events? well, these two don't stop there. they actually do it with work outfits. at first, it wasn't intentional, but when both women love wearing a lot of black and leather whenever they're out there being professional assassins, it's bound to happen.

ILYAS/SAHRA

despite being out for work most of the day, ilyas always knows what his wife is up to. they sit down in their couch after putting eren to sleep and she tells him about her projects, what has she been photographing that day and what she plans to do the day after. sometimes, and when she likes how things turned out, sahra shows him what she did for her own personal projects... and half of those pictures are on the wall somewhere in the house.

they don't fight often, but when they did, it was always about ilyas' job. being part of a huge crime family came with great things, but also with very negative ones that sometimes got to their relationship. it wasn't a big deal back when they were dating or during the first years of their marriage, but when she was pregnant with eren, she gave him an ultimatum: he either kept his work and his personal life separated for the sake of protecting his son or they'd be out of his life. good thing ilyas is good at that and has kept his word.

SABRINA/MATIAS

since the first time matias asked her to model for him to fill in for whoever he had hired and left him hanging, sabrina saw herself quitting her job and considering doing a lot more of that. besides, she gets to be photographied by her hot boyfriend, which is a plus (especially when some photoshoots end up being more explicit and with a happy ending)

whenever they're out with friends, they can be very touchy. almost every time any of them is looking at them, sabrina is either touching his chest or arm through the fabric of his shirt or he has a hand on her thigh in a non-sexual manner (even if most of the times they'd be happy to ditch their friends to have a quickie in the bathroom lmao). you can hardly see them not touching at all in public.

after many attempts of arranging a marriage with men, you'd think celia would be against the idea of marriage. however, getting married to tori wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. in fact, it would be celia the one proposing this time because she'd finally be marrying someone out of love and not because of a convenience.

celia has already a couple of tori's designs of her, but she'd also suggest having matching tattoos with her. they wouldn't be really big and maybe they wouldn't stand out with all the tattoos tori already has on herself, but celia would suggest a few small hearts on her wrist where she can see them every single day of her life. that's how committed she is to their relationship.

IZZY/JASON

a few months after their big fight, the identity reveal and their fallout, jason walks into the grind while she's on a shift and have their very first meeting since them. it wouldn't be planned, just a 'right place, right time' kind of moment. things would still be strained after everything that went down, but they would talk things out the moment she has a break and can give her his attention. it wouldn't be to make up per se, but at least they would talk things out.

even if it was supposed to be fake, izzy and jason are actually the cutest couple ever. they go out of date nights often, izzy picks him up at the building for lunch and allows herself to relax about jason because she feels comfortable about him. too bad jane smith is a fake identity and she's conning him with the help of her (ex)boyfriend

NICK/LOTTIE

since they're finally together for real instead of faking a relationship for the sake of their reputations, things had been much easier for both of them this time around. there was a lot of pda involved already, but it has become natural for them so they're now incredibly comfortable with it (while making their single friends very uncomfortable lmao)

jealousy is still a thing for them though, but it's not as strong as it was. with kayla out of the picture since she got a new target or two after she got the hint and learned the hard way she was never going to get nick, lottie has been worrying less and less despite nick having groupies chasing him after every concert. same goes for nick, who couldn't care less about jon. even if those two actors still shared a lot of screentime (and sometimes in very steamy scenes), nick still thinks he's better than jon and has nothing to worry about.

caroline did. she's the one who fell for him first and realized she loved him, so she told him even if she wasn't expecting him to say it back. luckily for her, it happened.

usually at a coffee shop nearby their workplaces, since both naomi's flower shop and viv's bakery are in the same area.

according to this, these two are quite different, but with some effort, they can make things work. and oh boy, these two truly do work together, both as (former) roommates and best of friends despite those differences.
