Do you think William would actually skip TTC if Andrew is there? He's been on the balcony plenty of times with him when the late Queen was around, even when he skipped Garter Day. If Andrew has Charles over a barrel enough to keep Royal Lodge, I don't think they can keep him off the TTC balcony. I think all the Yorks will be there, but my question is will Fergie be included?? And will B&E bring their children? That would be a particularly bitter pill for the Sux to swallow.

William threatened to skip Garter Day if Andrew was there and they listened to him. If he threatened to skip Trooping, they’d probably listen to him. Charles might be King, but he isn’t popular with the public and it reflects in the polling. William is popular and the polling shows that the public likes him more than they like Charles - that gives William incredible bargaining power when it comes to what he can demand — and get.

He's been on the balcony plenty of times with him when the late Queen was around, even when he skipped Garter Day.

Not after the Epstein allegations became damning and Andrew indicted himself in the court of public opinion with the Newsnight interview. The same interview and allegations that forced The Queen to retire Andrew because the charities and military were pulling their support. Andrew hasn’t been on a balcony since June 2019, before Newsnight.

William has gone to great lengths to avoid being seen in any official capacity with Andrew since then. The first time William was seen publicly with Andrew (on the drive from the airport to Balmoral when The Queen died), they got a pass because The Queen was dying. The second time William was seen publicly with Andrew (that one time they drove to church together last summer), public goodwill had evaporated and he (and Kate) was crucified for it by the public. William isn’t letting that happen again.

I don’t think you’re using the barrel metaphor here correctly. Andrew only has Charles over a barrel if the choices are “give me Royal Lodge or give me the balcony.” As long as Andrew has Royal Lodge, Charles has the power to keep him off the royal diaries, including the Trooping balcony.

Unless Andrew has even more damning dirt on Charles, like evidence of fraudulent tampering in the Line of Succession, and we don’t know that he does.

Fergie seems to only be invited to the family events. Trooping is more of a state event, with the family getting tacked on at the end for the flypast.

Why wouldn’t they? If Sarah’s and David’s children participated on Queen Elizabeth’s balconies when the whole family was there, why shouldn’t Wolfie, Sienna, August, and Ernie be allowed? They’re the same relation to Charles that Sarah and David’s kids were to Queen Elizabeth.

If Harry and Meghan wanted to bring their kids to Trooping and hang out on a balcony to watch airplanes, they should’ve thought about that before burning all the bridges they did with Oprah, Spare, and Netflix.

You know Empress, I'm not bothered about the paid for award because what's new right? I'm more disturbed about the fact that he singled Catherine out yesterday. He said he was upset when he saw her at the balcony during TTC and I'm 1000% sure it's not in a good way no matter how hard he pretends to be sympathetic to her.

He apparently also leaked that he wants to reconnect with Catherine and is already penning some letters to her, because he is worried about her and I don’t remember what else he said.

This man has no shame, and even less if the American article was briefed by them (saying that the other royal r*cist is Camilla and Kate was upset she was thrown under the bus when she didn’t had anything to do with it)

Celta-- intriguing quote in the Daily Mail by royal reporter Rebecca English: "When I asked a well-placed source whether Harry could bring his children to see the King at Balmoral this summer as a compromise, the answer was a resounding snort. Read into that what you will." (DM article "The real reason why Kate was determined to join her 'kiddies' and 'Grandpa Wales' on the balcony...") Wonder if Charles is getting fed up with Harry as BP press office told the media Harry wasn't invited to TTC.

Hi Nonny,

It would not surprise me in the slightest if The King was thoroughly fed up with Harry and Meghan's antics and 'will they won't they' PR, as everyone else is sick of them. Having BP tell the media that the Harkles aren't invited cuts through all that and gives The King the peace he needs to deal with his cancer treatment. It was a very sensible move imo.

Of course she is the Duchess of Sussex and Catherine is "Kate". But I guess it probably pains her to call Catherine "Princess of Wales".

She would rather die. Literally.

She is probably think that this is the perfect year to try and return for TTC because she won't have to be around Catherine or have the difference of only being a Duchess.

I wish you guys spent more time talking about royal news because so much happened: Father's Day, William's birthday, TTC, Ascot, Taylor Swift, Kate's new photo etc. Harry and Meghan don't do much positively so dedicating so much time to them is really exhausting to listen to. As was the slimmed down monarchy topic. I get that in the RF, there have been medical issues concerning the RF but it's not a pressing issue in the UK presently (we have the elections to thank for that) and I just wish you guys had spent more time on the more numerous positive things that happened.

I know - you’re right! We’ve been recording every 2-ish weeks recently bc … life. (I have little kids, Michelle has teenagers, we both work @ the same company on the same team where we’ve been dealing with a huge client project) & so when we record we try to cram in the big things & the things that are most timely.

When we get back on our once per week schedule we’ll be able to speak about (hopefully!) everything & the Sussex load will be less.

At this point she could be on her 10 engagement (hahahah) in may and people will still think it's a clone. Which is funny, because I bet she would love to have one to send to work 😁

So let them believe she is dead. Queen cancelled many engagements during the last years of her life because she didn't want to be seen in a wheelchair. Having control of her image it's a Kate can't miss for any reason. Having an image of her she doesn't want for the rest of her life it's worse than people think she is a dead for a month. It's one thing if the picture was wrong or not and another how delusional are some people over a sick woman, whom most of them don't even truly care about. She was seen yesterday and they think it's fake too. In a week from now if they don't do anything it will calm down not forgotten but not so intense. The only thing that I would like her to do during her sick brrak is either sent a message or record, is she can, a short video for St's Patrick's day for Irish Guards, because it's the army and this TTC it's their colour, nothing more. Nothing more and definitely not to please others. She isn't a circus bear dancing to stupid people. The paranoia and conspiracy theories will never stop for W&C due to their position, their fame and how things have changed. Their fans must accept that Do you know how many people believe Michelle Obama was actually a man. Why she should do? What I've seen makes me feel very bad for not demanding her reappearance. Besides if they succumb to blackmail once and they will always have to do it.

I have a slightly different opinion to you on the TTC “whole family” comment. Charles may be going with the whole family to:

1) minimize the aged look (agree here) and show the breadth of the line of succession

2) minimize the appearance/nonappearance of any one particular royal.

To this line, I think it will be everybody, even Duke of York who will hopefully get “lost in the crowd.” I don’t think Camilla’s family will be there (I think it will be Windsor-only (again, showcasing the breadth of line of succession.) And Catherine’s no appearance is minimized.

Anon, I get what you’re saying but it’s been 6 months since we last saw Kate in real time (the Christmas walk) and 2 months since we saw her on screen (the Mother’s Day photo and the video message). And we’re *still* talking about her absence.

Her non-appearance cannot be minimized, not when there’s all these rumors and conspiracy theories about “is she even alive” or “soft-launching William’s mistress” still spreading and being pushed by Sussex Squad.

Charles could run naked through the Horses Guard Parade Grounds and people would still talk about Kate’s absence and the conspiracy theories instead.

Every cancer patient in my country -no matter which stages they are on cancer- can have 1,5 years of paid leave. After that time it depends on how their cancer is développing and stage or the cancer. Kate just begin her treatment. I will be suprised If She comes back in 6 months.

After her announcement, I genuinely did not expect to her for the rest of year. But the fact that she found the strength to attend the TTC and even Wimbledon is something I am so grateful for. If we see her for Remembrance Day, I will be thankful for that too. She always gives us more than we deserve and I will never take any of it for granted. As far as I am concerned she can take all the time she needs.
