Friday 16 June 2023
Yesterday, I was left with the distinct impression that the table was being set for some really great drama. Today, I am sad to report that this table has been cleared, disassembled and fed into a wood chipper.
First up: Belle and Shawn. Shawn hasn’t drunk enough beer to forget about shooting his dad into a coma, so now he’s moved on to the harder stuff. Belle does not approve.
Honestly, Drunk and Sassy Shawn (example dialogue: “do you know how hard it was to find a store that would sell me vodka at 8am?”) is substantially more interesting to me than Standard Issue Shawn, who mostly stands around looking sad and handsome.
Back at the DiMera household, Harris is still here, confronting Megan. This was the thing I was most excited about yesterday. And since I already told you that I found today’s episode disappointing, I suppose you can work out that he didn’t kidnap her like he promised Kate he would. But we’ll get to that in a minute.
Also held over from yesterday: Dimitri showing up at Gwen (and Leo)’s hotel room to give her flowers. Still kind of a sweet gesture, despite the fact that we know Dimitri’s ulterior motives.
Then Leo intervenes and, questioning Dimitri’s ulterior motives, throws the flowers in the trash. Which is a bit rude, even for Leo. Gwen is suitably mortified.
Leo retaliates with “I’m trying to protect you,” which is sweet and all, but… Gwen is one of a handful of characters who is pretty much constantly fucking someone. Only there hasn’t been anyone for her for weeks. So she tells Leo to take a hike. So she can fuck.
Then she and Dimitri kiss. Which, if I know my sex, is an excellent first step!
Meanwhilst, Kristen and EJ are still tied to chairs in the Wine Cellar that We Sometimes Pretend Nobody Knows about. I don’t have a whole lot of jokes for this bit — I’ve backtracked and watched pretty much every episode that this iteration of EJ has been in, and I’ve always been a bit disappointed that he and his sister have never really had any good scenes together. They do a considerable amount of bonding here — mostly over the fact that their newly discovered sister Megan is a fucking maniac, even for a DiMera — and I’m a fan.
Not a fan of EJ being tied up instead of coming with her to the baby specialist: Nicole. Kayla assures her that the specialist is definitely here in this hospital and is not just her (Kayla) in a different lab coat and a wig (what is this, Body and Soul?!)
Nicole sends another frantic text to EJ. Then thirty more.
Then she runs into Belle, who just blurts out that she knows Nicole is pregnant. We’ve come a long way from the eighteen months or so that we were pretending this was a secret that only Nicole and Anna knew about. Okay, so it was only like a week or two. But it sure felt like eighteen months.
Belle’s pretty rude and thoughtless to Nicole about the whole thing (probably because she has her dumb drunk husband on her mind), but I only just felt my first twinge of sympathy for Nicole like yesterday so I’m going to allow it.
Sloan and Eric are still talking about the possibility of having a baby together. Which still sounds like a colossally bad idea to me. But nobody ever asks me, despite the implication I just made about having the power to allow things.
They head down to the pub for breakfast. Then Kate insinuates herself into their conversation, Julie-like, and insists that they have a baby immediately. Nobody asked Kate either, to be clear. But she doesn’t have much going on, plot-wise right now and she has a very good instinct for staying involved in things despite that.
Okay, I’ve put this disappointment off long enough. Time to witness the monumental whizzing-it-down-their-leg that is Megan vs. Harris.
Harris, intent on kidnapping Megan and taking her to some undisclosed location where she’ll be no tribble at all, reaches for his gun.
Then stupid drunk idiot Shawn walks in for absolutely no reason apart from the fact that he’s stupid and drunk and an idiot.
Naturally he assumes these two are still in cahoots, since their previous cahoots are what resulted in his dad’s troubles. Well, the pre-being-shot-by-Shawn part of those troubles, anyway.
Harris tries to assure him that he’s good now (which is pretty much the only move he has right now, since he doesn’t have a Kate-like sense of how to stay engaged in the plot) and Megan takes this opportunity to pull her gun.
Shawn continues to provoke Megan, probably because of the whole “feels guilty that he shot his dad into a coma” thing. But Harris manages to de-escalate and the two of them leave. YESTERDAY THERE WERE LIKE HALF A DOZEN POTENTIALLY INTERESTING ANGLES TO THIS KIDNAPPING AND TODAY WE GET ZERO KIDNAPPINGS. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
Megan, who has been referring to Harris as the Salem Protector, has this amazing Homer Simpsonesque line.
Then she looks at EJ’s phone, sees all the texts from Nicole and gives us amazing Lucille Bluthesque eye roll. If she’s gonna steal, at least she steals from the best.
She then sends a text to Dimitri, who’s just rounding first base with Gwen. DON’T FORGET TO FUCK THAT GIRL his mother says. This family is truly Having a Normal One.
Dimitri takes her advice, throws his phone away and throws Gwen down on the bed. For sex. So they avoided one disappointment this time, anyway.
Shawn returns home and weepily apologizes to Belle.
Kate yells at Harris for not kidnapping Megan. Kate, I didn’t agree with you on the “Sloan and Eric’s baby” thing, but you’re doing the lord’s work here. (I am the lord in this example.)
Then Nicole, walking home, runs into Eric because she literally can’t walk anywhere in this town without running into Eric. And Sloan brags to her that they’re going to have a baby, which is somehow even more aggressively dick-swinging behavior than when Eric and EJ nearly fought over the paternity of Nicole’s.
And that’s where we leave it. Sure. Fine. There’s always next week, I guess.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers for August 12-16, 2024: Johnny and Bonnie's Bond, Stefan's Guilt, and Connie's Chaos
As we move into mid-August, Days of Our Lives promises another week filled with drama, secrets, and unexpected twists. The residents of Salem are about to face new challenges, confrontations, and revelations that will keep fans glued to their screens. Here’s a look at what’s coming up next week.
Johnny and Bonnie’s Unexpected Friendship
In Days Of Our Lives Next Week, Johnny DiMera and Bonnie Lockhart are set to form an unlikely friendship. Johnny, the new director at Body and Soul, connects with Bonnie, who shares an interest in the production. Their bond develops as they spend more time together, leading to a friendship that no one saw coming. This storyline adds a lighter touch to the week, offering some moments of unexpected camaraderie amidst the usual Salem chaos.
Stefan’s Guilt and Ava’s Decision
Stefan DiMera is struggling with a guilty conscience after his secret fling with Ava Vitali. The weight of his guilt nearly drove him to confess to Gabi, but he stopped himself at the last minute. However, the tension between Stefan and Gabi is palpable, especially as Ava and Stefan agree to move on from their past. This decision might seem like a step towards resolution, but with Kristen pressuring Stefan to keep silent and Connie causing drama by revealing secrets, things are bound to get more complicated. Viewers can expect some intense confrontations as these secrets threaten to unravel.
Connie’s Meddling Creates Chaos
Connie’s blunder about Gabi’s husband cheating has sparked new drama in Salem. Her loose lips are causing tension, and it seems she’s far from done stirring the pot. With Ava and Stefan already on edge, Connie’s revelation could lead to more significant fallout. Gabi’s reaction to this news and how she handles the situation with Stefan will be a key focus this week. The storyline promises to bring even more tension and drama as Connie continues to meddle in the lives of Salem’s residents.
Leo’s Mistaken Identity Mishap
Leo Stark finds himself in an awkward situation when he mistakes Hattie Adams for Marlena Evans. As he confides in Hattie, thinking she’s Marlena, he starts to notice something is off. This case of mistaken identity is sure to bring some humorous moments to the otherwise tense week, but it also adds another layer to the complex web of relationships in Salem.
Kate’s Frustrations and Roman’s Support
Kate Roberts is feeling the pressure this week, especially with the ongoing issues at Body and Soul. She turns to Roman Brady for support, and their interactions offer a mix of comfort and conflict. Roman’s steadfast presence provides Kate with some much-needed stability, but their conversations might also hint at underlying tensions and unresolved issues.
Next week on Days of Our Lives is set to be a rollercoaster of emotions, with unexpected friendships forming, secrets threatening to come to light, and relationships tested to their limits. As the residents of Salem navigate these challenges, viewers can expect plenty of drama, intrigue, and the kind of twists that keep Days of Our Lives so captivating. Be sure to tune in to see how these storylines unfold and what new surprises are in store for your favorite characters.

Julie Pinson's Soapnet Chat Transcript
(Friday Feb. 25, 2005)
Moderator: The chat with Julie will begin in just a few minutes so get your questions ready!
Moderator: Don't worry, we're still chatting with Julie today. She's running slightly late and is racing to the phone as I type!
Julie Pinson: Hi everybody! I'm glad that you all are joining us for a chat. This is my first time doing this but please be gentle!
Penny Hey Julie, it is great to see you on Days.. Was it strange for you to take over the role from Lisa Rinna?
Julie Pinson: No, it wasn't strange at all. I think if Lisa wasn't available to do the role, I think it was fated to be mine.
DAYSfan
hey Julie! i love watching you on DAYS! i'm wondering if anyone has ever told you that you look like Rosalind Russell? you should audition for The Women remake!
Julie Pinson: Rosalind Russell? I've never heard that one but I'm flattered!
becky
at what age did u start your acting.
Julie Pinson: The first time I remember is when I was in sixth grade and I was in the play, Heidi. I played Fraulein Rottenmeyer, the bad lady. At the curtain call, my family stood up and clapped so loud and I loved the feeling so much that I knew it was what I wanted to do.
daysluvr
hey julie, thanks for chatting with us today. i was wondering how you are adjusting to being on days? who has been the biggest help to you in the cast?
Julie Pinson: Definitely, Peter and Kristian. My storyline is with the two of them so obviously I spend most of my working time with them. They've helped fill me in on the show history and family and things like that. Basically, I found out that I'm related to everyone in Salem!
LuvThatBo
Were you a DOOL fan before landing the role of Billie, and if so, for how long?
Julie Pinson: Honestly, when I was growing up the only show that I watched was AMC. I hear the Boos coming, lol. I do remember being in a restaurant about 15 years ago and looking at the TV and seeing Kristian ice-skating. I remember thinking how beautiful she was.
Jessica
Hello Julie! I think you're doing a great job as Billie. I don't miss Lisa at all! Do you think there BIllie will fall back into drugs because of her sadness over not having Bo or Georgia?
Julie Pinson: Anything's possible. I would hope that Billie would be stronger than that but finding out that my daughter is alive is a life changing experience. I'm not sure how much disappointment it would take for Billie to go over the edge again.
sandy
do you want to always act the bad girl along with kate. to me you and kate makes sami look like a saint.
Julie Pinson: I think it's just as fun to play the bad girl, it's more fun. I think the fans like to have the bad girl on screen. If everyone was nice and wonderful it would be really boring.
Steff
Hi Julie.
I watched you on PC and Eve and Ian were one of my favorite couples. Have you kept in contact with Thorsten Kaye after you left PC?
Julie Pinson: Unfortunately I haven't. He's in NY doing AMC and we lost touch after my run on PC ended. But I loved acting opposite him.
LuvThatBo
Do you think finding your character's daughter will make her stronger or more dependent?
Julie Pinson: Stronger. I think it would give her something to live for and it would give her life meaning. I think it will strive to make her a better person.
Leslie
Who would you like to have more scenes with or work with more from the show??
Julie Pinson: I like working with Lauren (Kate). I think it might be fun for the two of them to partner up and try and wreak havoc. I would also love to Thaao Penghlis (Tony). I don't know what kind of story we could have but I would love to work opposite him. For storyline purposes I think it would be cool if Billie tried to infiltrate the DiMeras and take Tony down.
Anna
Thank you for your great preformances. LOL I want to slap you at times though for what you are doing. It looks like you are enjoying this roll. Is it fun playing Billie Holiday Reed?
Julie Pinson: Lol. I'm having a great time, it's fantastic.
jenny
i know it must have been hard on you when pc was cancelled....what's your fondest memeory from that show?
Julie Pinson: Working with Jon Lindstrom and Kin Shriner and what they taught me.
Julie Pinson: One more thing for the girl who wanted to slap me: If you didn't want to slap me at times, I wouldn't be doing justice to the character!
Desi
I was a huge Chris and Eve fan when you were on Port Charles and so felt that Eve died long before her storyline was over. I think you're doing an awesome job on Days as Billie and was so glad to see you back. In your opinion, what is the most challenging part of being in the daytime world?
Julie Pinson: I think the most challenging part is taking the stories that the writers come up with and making them work because sometimes the stories are really out there and we have to make the audience believe that it's really happening.
Holly
Hey Julie.. I remember reading once that you collect dolls. Do you still?
Julie Pinson: Yes, absolutely. I collect Barbies! I haven't bought any new ones in a couple of years. I got to the point where I thought I had enough. I just got a new Barbie catalogue so I might look at it after the chat!
BoluvsFancyFace
All the smiles and smirks that you do behind Hope's back, is that a touch that you add on your own or are you directed to do so?
Julie Pinson: I add it on my own. Do you hate it or love it? You have to bring something of your own to the character and the history that I understand Hope and Billie have warrant the smirks.
Holland
Loved your scenes with Bryan Dattilo (Lucas). Great brother and sister chemisty. Will there be more of that in the future?
Julie Pinson: I hope so! I haven't seen any scripts yet within the next few weeks where we're together but I love hanging out with Bryan.
Kallie
Hi Julie! I admire your acting on the show and loved you on PC as well. Who are your personal heros?
Julie Pinson: That's a good question. Well, I'd say one of my personal heroes is my best friend Sherry who has managed to raise her daughter (my goddaughter) by herself and hold a full time job. Single parents are amazing to me. My parents, as well.
Penny
Do you still keep in touch with any of your Port Charles costars?
Julie Pinson: Jon Linstrom is one of my best friends. Ion Overman and I still talk.
Connie Boaz
I love your hair. Can you give me some details on the type of cut it is and what you do to get it to look so great? i.e., products, styling etc.
Thank you
Julie Pinson: It's pretty much a razor cut. I use BedHead products - the Movie Star line. I also use KMS Configur and then I turn my head upside down and blow it dry.
noodle0043
Has it been hard playing Billlie and trying to come between Bo and Hope?
Julie Pinson: No, it's not hard because Billie has a reason for everything that she does. At this point, she's not trying to come between Bo and Hope on purpose. She's really not. You may snicker, but she really isn't. lol.
Oahu girl
Julie, do you think that it would be a better story for Billie to get over Bo and become a mother to Georgia? I know you are new to the show, but for long time viewers, this Billie coming between Bope story is old. It's unbelievable that after 16 years we are led to believe Billie has not moved on. Billie is better than that. I think Bope belong together. Billie needs a new man, and a new story. Do you agree?
Julie Pinson: I think that Billie deserves a chance at true love. And I'll leave it up to the writers to tell me who they think that is.
Kelly
What adivice would you give to someone who might be considering going into acting?
Julie Pinson: Love it more than anything in the world. Have a tough exterior because you'll have to get used to rejection. But it only takes one yes to make it to the top.
Alina
Are you friends with any of the cast members outside of work?
Julie Pinson: Brody (Patrick) and I hang out together.
Dawniebeth
Since you and Bryan are brother and sister I hope they make the big sister come out and protect him from his lying mom. Billie is smart enough to see thru Kates lies, do you think that might happen?
Julie Pinson: I think the truth is going to come out that Kate set Sami out and Billie will be very upset with her mother. I think right now Billie is giving her the benefit of the doubt.
Desi
I loved you as Eve. You and Nolan North had amazing chemistry as Chris and Eve. A lot of fans felt like the story ended way too soon for those two characters. Would you have liked to have seen Chris and Eve get together back in the day?
Julie Pinson: Most definitely, yes. I always thought that Chris and Eve would have made a great super couple. We would have taken over PC as the best super couple. I loved working with Nolan, by the way.
noodle0043
What characteristics do you and your character Billie have in common?
Julie Pinson: We're both strong and we both have a sense of humor. I've tried to infuse a little bit of humor into her because I think that I'm funny. Lol. We're independent women.
Holly
What do you enjoy most about being back in daytime?
Julie Pinson: I enjoy that I look forward to going to work every day and getting to do something that I love so much.
Kelly
Who's your favorite actor/actress(not from Days, of course!)?
Julie Pinson: My favorite actor is Robert Redford. My favorite actress would take too long to decide. Elizabeth Taylor is my all-time favorite movie star but I don't really have a favorite actress right now.
Kelly
Have you heard that Billy Warlock is returning to Days? Weren't the two of you engaged? Are you looking forward to working with him?
Julie Pinson: I've heard that Billy is coming back and I'm definitely looking forward to working with him. We have always remained friends.
Emanuel
If you had to play another on "Days" who would it be?
Julie Pinson: I wouldn't want to play any other character. I love playing Billie.
Kelly
I've particularily enjoyed the flashback scenes with Peter! How did you enjoy shooting those, especially with the long hair?
Julie Pinson: Those were fun. It was nice having long hair again. I enjoyed playing those flashback scenes because Bo is actually in love with Billie!
Brandy
What is the most exciting part about being a part of the Days of Our Lives cast? Anything in particular that's your favorite thing about working there?
Julie Pinson: My favorite thing about working at DAYS is that from the minute I stepped on that stage I have felt nothing but warmth and welcome from everyone - the cast and the crew. I have never had that experience working in the industry before. That's the truth!
Julie Pinson: Thank you all for chatting with me today. Thank you for the interest in myself and in Billie. Stick with her and I promise you'll never have a boring day! Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Anther Kate Rant
So, let me get this straight: last year, Kate went through extreme lengths to get hired at Titan again, ruining Sonny’s life (and by extension Will’s), and NOW she comes up with a plan that doesn’t hurt either of them?! Really? I mean fucking REALLY?!
She ruins Sonny’s life THEN comes up with a plan to help Titan and it worked?!
UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE!
WHERE WAS THIS LAST YEAR?!
UUURRRGGGGHHHH! I fucking HATE KATE AND VICTOR FOR HIRING HER!
I want Kate to die a slow and painful death all alone! But, unfortunately it won’t happen, since for some reason TPTB loves the actress, yet writes her as a villain!
I really, REALLY wish Will and Sonny would put a restraining order against Kate and never forgive nor talk to her again, but, unfortunately, it won’t happen, ‘cause those two are the most forgiving men on the planet! I swear- if Kate got Sonny and Ari killed because of her greed and lust for power, Will would forgive her in like ten seconds instead of ten years, thanks to apparent writer favoritism!

Thursday, 15 June 2023
Yesterday, Megan stuffed an unconscious EJ into the not-at-all secret room and past experience told me to brace myself for at least a week of him in there.
But what’s this?! He’s escaped already! And he’s racing upstairs to warn Stefan about Megan’s plans to kill him!
But oh no! It’s too late! Stefan is lying face-down on his bed with a knife in his back!
Oh. Wait. It was allll a dreeeeam! I want to be mad at them for falling back on this old gimmick, but we get at least one of these a month. And way more than that if Nicole is feeling particularly guilty about something.
For a change, though, she isn’t. She is, however, concerned about the whereabouts of EJ, who made an enormous deal about finding the best doctors his considerable fortune could afford to assist Nicole with her pregnancy. “So, like, have you seen him around or anything?” Nicole asks Stefan (whose stab-status is, it turns out, Not Stabbed). Stefan replies with a very sensible “that guy just recently told me to go fuck myself so, as far as I’m concerned, he is the one who can go and do that thing. To himself.”
Megan, meanwhile, reconvenes with Li for another round of Evil Genius and Extremely Vacant Mouth Breather.
The writers even tried this weird thing where Li was the dominant one in the conversation. Experiments like that are why I prefer the well-worn cliches, guys. Megan intends to re-brainwash Harris Michaels to do her dirty work, and Li’s part in all of this is to bring Dr. Rolf to Salem. And you know, I was wondering if we were expected to believe that Li would be smart or capable enough of killing anyone. But “having someone’s phone number” is something he can probably manage!
Speaking of Harris… apparently, he’s reconsidered Kate’s offer (to take a bunch of Kate’s money in exchange for the murder of Megan).
And while I was loosening my vocal chords to shout at the show for jerking us around on this, he clarifies: he won’t kill Megan. But he will make her go away. Presumably to an island or something. Maybe like the one Kristen kidnapped Sara and Abigail to that one time.
Kate is a little skeptical about all of this not-murdering talk, but she comes around eventually.
Back at the DiMera Crib, Kristen is impressed with the write-up that Gwen did of Dimitri. “Great job dialing up the fake charm,” she says. But Dimitri says he’s actually kinda into Gwen and I hope this is true because Gwen deserves to have nice things. Then I noticed that fruit bowl.
Computer. Isolate and enhance.
WHAT THE ACTUAL COMPLETE AND ENTIRE FUCK? DO THE DIMERAS PUT SLICED BANANAS INTO THEIR FRUIT BOWL? HOW DO THEY NOT INSTANTLY TURN BROWN, NOT TO MENTION ATTRACTING THOUSANDS OF FRUIT FLIES?! THIS CANNOT POSSIBLY BE A THING, EVEN FOR EXTREMELY WEALTHY PEOPLE!
Ahem. Sorry.
Then Kristen goes into some detail about her sinister plans, which essentially boil down to getting her daughter back by hiring Sloan Peterson, who by all accounts is a pretty good lawyer. And to win Sloan over, she’ll need some special vintage of champagne (?) for some reason (??), which takes her into the secret passage that also happens to be the DiMera wine cellar…
And oh look, there’s EJ tied to a chair. Well, maybe I was wrong about this taking an entire week!
Megan returns home and runs into Stefan. She makes some extremely unsubtle puns about burning up his proposal and strongly hints that he might not be alive soon. Stefan, being the good-natured fellow that he is, shrugs this off and goes about his business.
Then she sees Dimitri, who casually mentions that Kristen went into the wine passage to get a bottle.
Once he leaves, Megan performs the most delightful comedic scamper (one of Amanda’s favorite types of physical comedy) to the secret entrance. This screencap does not do it justice but also I’m not going to the trouble of making a GIF.
Kristen is in the process of untying EJ…
…but she’s too late. Megan arrives with a gun.
And when we come back to this bit, they’re both tied up now. AND THEY WILL BE FOR ABOUT A WEEK. I know what the fuck I’m talking about here, people!
Gwen, meanwhile, is chatting with Leo about that Dimitri story.
Leo suggests that perhaps Dimitri was dialing up the fake charm to get something out of Gwen (like perhaps good PR). Gwen counters with “but what if he’s actually kinda into me?”
Then Dimitri shows up with flowers. Because Gwen deserves nice things!
Stefan runs into Li in the town square. The two have what should be a tense and bittersweet conversation about Li signing Gabi’s divorce papers and Stefan’s impending marriage to her. But, as with any of Li’s scene partners, Stefan ends up doing all the heavy lifting here. Li is not a good actor, if I haven’t made this abundantly clear already. He’s very pretty. But that is the only item on the “things Li is good at” list.
Okay, I guess he’s also good at having that one guy’s phone number. So, two things.
At the hospital, Nicole tries to reach EJ once again and once again she is unable to. Am I… starting to feel a little sympathy for Nicole right now?!
Then she gets a text from EJ apologizing profusely for not being able to make it to their appointment. Not pictured: the second text that says “P.S. This definitely isn’t Megan using the phone she took off of EJ, who is tied to a chair across from his sister, who is also tied to a chair.”
Then Megan puts EJ’s phone down.
And discovers Harris waiting for her outside the secret room!
And okay, honestly? There are like 10 different ways I can think of for this to go. This was a very good cliffhanger, and it’s not even Friday. But they’d better follow directly up with this tomorrow and not… I don’t know, cut away to an all-Johnny and Li episode or something.
