(ăŁââĄâ)㣠℠Fangirl Challenge: 50 Female Characters â„
Iâve seen multiple posts before with the tag âfangirl challengeâ & they were just a bunch of gifsets. So, instead of making 50 posts with gifs and flooding everyoneâs homepage, i decided to put all the gifs together in a video.
The video consists of 50 different characters from 50 different shows, which was a difficult list to compile. Narrowing it down was the hardest part.

How to Make a Family
Bryce x Casey
Authorâs Note: Warning: Mentions of miscarriage
Summary: Casey and Bryce decide to start a family, but the road to parenthood isnât as smooth as expected.
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 3000
âMmmâŠ.this is the best way to wake up.â Bryce mumbles, returning Caseyâs lazy kisses with impassioned ones as he wakes.
Casey smiles against his lips and lets her tongue slip into his mouth. âI missed you.â She reveals when she pulls away a few moments later.
Bryce smiles sleepily, rubbing her back gently through her clothes. Sheâs still in her business casual from attending the morning session of the medical conference. âNot as much as I missed you. How was the conference? I thought you werenât coming back until Tuesday. You didnât leave early because it was boring, did you Dr. Valentine?â
âThey moved Dr. Ramseyâs panel to this morning, so I came home early. I learned a lot, but I wonât bore you with the details. Not when we have catching up to do.â Casey slowly kisses down his bare chest. She gets to his lower abs and is about to pull down his pajama pants when he pulls her back up. Sheâs draped over him, staring into his brown eyes which shine with desire.
âCasey, as much as I hate to stop you, and believe me, I really hate to stop you, we canât. Iâm not supposed to ejaculate for 48 hours before my appointment. I can take care of you though.â He flips them so heâs on top, pushing her pencil skirt up over her hips.
âWait, stop.â Casey interrupts, sitting up and pushing her skirt back down. âWhat appointment?â
âA good friend from high school, Wendy, she and her wife are having a baby. She asked for my sperm.â Bryce responds casually.
âWhat the hell Bryce?â
âWhat?â The fact that he honestly seems confused at her irritation makes her even more irritated.
âDonât you think thatâs something you should have talked with me about?â Casey asks, standing from the bed to put some space between them.
Bryce still looks flabbergasted, sitting up and running a hand through his hair. âIs it?â
Casey whirls around. âYes, Bryce! It is!â
âWhy are you mad? Do you not want me to do it? I already told her I would, everything is set up.â
âItâs not that I donât want you to do it necessarily, but if I didnât want you to do it, I feel like you should have at least considered my feelings before agreeing.â
âHow does it even affect you beyond this 48 hour no sex thing? I didnât even think you were going to be here.â Bryce reasons. Â
âHow does it affect me?! Are you serious Bryce?â
Bryce gets up from the bed, pulling her into his strong arms. Annoyingly, being in his arms always makes her anger fade. Itâs really an unfair move that he always pulls when theyâre fighting. After a few moments of silence, he pulls his other move, tracing circles in her back to further soothe her. âHeyâŠjust tell me whatâs wrong so I can understand why youâre upset. I love you, and I never want to hurt you Casey.â
She hugs him back which lets him now heâs somewhat forgiven, so he loosens his hold so she can pull back far enough to look up at him. âItâs just, Iâm your girlfriend. We live together. WeâreâŠ.weâre moving in the direction of marriage. And âŠbabies.â Casey fights down her blush at being so vulnerable with Bryce. Theyâve never talked about marriage, probably because theyâre both a little emotionally stunted. After all, it took them a full year of hooking up before they even mustered the courage to officially date. But she wants him to understand why sheâs upset, so sheâs going to talk about her feelings, despite how uncomfortable it makes her.
âThis baby youâre having, they would be half siblings with my kidsâŠ.if we ever get there. I think we will. I guessâŠ.I just would have liked to have some input in you becoming a dad.â She looks down, itâs less embarrassing to look at her feet than his expressive brown eyes.
Bryce buries his hands into her hair, tilting her head and forcing her to make eye contact. âHey, Iâm not becoming a dad. Iâll be his or her biological father, and if they ever want to know me, of course I would write, call, have lunch, whatever, but this is Wendyâs and Jaclynâs kid. Not mine. And they live in Hawaii, so itâs not like theyâre going to be around a lot. Iâm just doing a favor for a good friend Casey, thatâs it.â
âHave you donated sperm before?â Casey asks. He sounds so comfortable with it that sheâs starting to think he might have several sperm donor babies running around.
âNah, they pay very little at the sperm banks. And look at me, hot, smart, tall. Wendy clearly knows whatâs up. Iâve got prime stuff, so Iâm not selling it cheap.â Bryce responds.
Casey snorts, hitting his chest lightly. âMoron.â
Bryce smiles fondly at her despite the insult, kissing her softly. âDonât worry babe, when youâre ready to have my babies there will be plenty of sperm left for you.â
âŠ
..
.
âMhmmmâŠ.my favorite wake up call.â Bryce murmurs as Casey pulls away from his lips, kissing down his neck. He opens his eyes and checks the clock, 5:12 am. âIsnât it our day off? What has you so frisky so early in the morning?â
Casey stops the kissing, opting to sit on him instead, her fingers delicately drifting over his abs. âI had a dream.â She replies.
âOohâŠa naughty one?â Bryce asks, hands wandering up her bare legs.
âNo perv.â She teases, draping herself on top of him, fingers tangling into his messy morning hair. âI dreamt that we had a baby.â
Bryce has not so subtly hinted about how much he wants to start a family ever since they returned to Boston from their honeymoon in Fiji, and Bryce and Casey have been married for a little over a year now.
Wendy and Jaclyn send him pictures and videos of their daughter occasionally, and sheâs beautiful. Sheâs 3 now, and itâs such a fun age. She calls him Uncle Bryce, and she seems to almost comprehend that heâs her biological father. She talks so well, (not that heâs surprised sheâs smart, he and Wendy both have great genes) and his heart melts every time he speaks with her.
It makes him long for a child with his wife. But until now, Casey has been resistant. Her objections lie in her worries about her career. Theyâre attendings now, which allows for a better schedule but more responsibility at Edenbrook. And although itâs not fair, a baby would likely impact her career trajectory more than his. The most successful female physicians at Edenbrook like Dr. Harper Emery, have no children. (But then again, the most successful men, like Naveen or Ethan, also have no children, no spouses, theyâre married to the job.) Sheâs worried sheâll end up like Dr. Delarosa. When Ines and Zaid had a baby last year, her hours were reduced dramatically while Zaid returned after paternity leave full time. Â Â
âReally? It was a good dream, right? It wasnât some horror âRosemaryâs Babyâ situation? Are you ready to start trying?â Bryce shoots the questions off in rapid succession in his excitement.
Casey laughs, kissing her husband softly. âIâm ready to start trying.â
âŠ
..
.
Bryce holds Casey on their bathroom floor as she cries, stroking her hair. He wants to cry too, but he wonât because she needs him to be strong right now. Theyâve been trying to have a baby for a year, and theyâve just suffered their third miscarriage.
Theyâve seen countless specialists over the year, and no one can tell them whatâs wrong. Why she canât carry the baby to term. Sheâs started to obsessively research possible causes, hoping to diagnose herself so they can fix this. Itâs starting to take a toll on their marriage, heâs starting to wonder if itâs worth it.
âCasey, maybe we should consider surrogacy.â Bryce says. The specialists theyâve seen have all brought it up, but they, mostly she, wanted to keep trying. But now, maybe theyâve tried enough.
âBut Bryce, I want all those little moments. The food cravings, feeling our baby kick, having control over what theyâre exposed to in utero.â She pulls her face away from his now tear stained shirt. âI wanted you to massage my swollen feet, and to kiss my bellyâŠ..I donât understand why I canât do this. Why my body canât do thisâŠI feel broken.â She whispers that last part.
Bryce cups her cheeks, she had been looking down at the tile floor with tear filled eyes, so he makes her look at him. âYouâre not broken Casey. This doesnât mean youâre flawed in anyway. Youâre perfect, and I love you.â
âI love you too Bryce. Youâve been so patient through all this, I want you to know how much I appreciate that.â
Bryce places a kiss to the top of her head. âThereâs not one way to start a family Casey. We tried this way, maybe itâs time to try another.â
âBut surrogacy is so expensive.â Casey complains.
âGood thing weâre both attendings with well-paying jobs and amazing insurance then.â Bryce counters.
Casey sighs, running out of excuses. âOkay, letâs look into it at least.â
âŠ
..
.
When Bryce operates, itâs almost like heâs asleep, in a different, separate consciousness. Heâs very focused on his task. Itâs not until itâs over, the organ successfully repaired, that he feels like heâs back in the real world again, awake.
âDr. Lahela, Dr. Valentine is here and would like to talk to you.â Dr. Delarosa announces over the intercom into the operating room.
âDr. McGuire, would you like to close?â Bryce asks, stepping away from the table and giving the intern a chance to learn something. Francine McGuire nods enthusiastically, taking his place at the table. Bryce leaves his senior resident to supervise, throwing off his mask and gloves as he heads out.
Casey is waiting just outside the door, bouncing on the balls of her feet. âKate called.â Their surrogate, a single mother who lives in New York. She sends them updates on her belly bump, videos of their son kicking in her stomach. Casey always cries when they get them, but nowadays she reassures him theyâre mostly happy tears. âSheâs in labor!â
âHoly shit. Sheâs early! Is it too early? We were supposed to have another 3 weeks!â Bryce exclaims.
âHey.â Casey wraps her arms around his waist, pulling him into a hug. He calms almost immediately. âWeâre ready.â She promises, straining to press a firm kiss to his lips. âAnd I got us plane tickets, so letâs go before we miss our sonâs birth.â
..
.
Itâs a little strange to watch a woman you donât know very well give birth to your child. Bryce isnât sure if heâs supposed to hold Kateâs hand, or if he should be holding Caseyâs. Eventually, Casey takes Kateâs hand, serving as an anchor when the contractions get bad. âBreathe Kate. Youâre doing so great. Thank you so much. We love you.â She repeats these four phrases like a mantra, or a prayer.
Kateâs labor is long. Much longer than when she had her own daughter, sheâll tell them later.
(âItâs because he has such a big head. Heâs smart, he needed the extra space for his brain.â Bryce tells Casey later, his arms wrapped around her as they watch their newborn sleep in his crib.)
After 8 hours, Eric Lahela (Legally, Casey took Bryceâs last name, although she still practices under Casey Valentine, so no need to hyphenate Valentine-Lahela) makes his grand entrance to the world. Bryce and Casey get to cut the umbilical cord together, and then after cleaning him off, the staff hand the baby to his mother.
Caseyâs eyes well with tears as she takes in their baby. He mostly looks like Bryce, but Eric has her eyes.
âŠ
..
.
âBryce, wake up.â Casey whispers impatiently, but her voice is excited.
âWhat?â Bryce whispers back, not wanting to wake up their 18-month-old whoâs sleeping between them. They really need to be stricter about getting him to sleep in his own bed.
âWe did it. Today marks fourteen weeks. Weâve never made it to 14 weeksâŠ.â Her voice trails off, full of emotion.
He kisses her passionately, Eric stirring slightly as he accidentally jostles their son in the process.
Theyâve suffered two more miscarriages since Eric was born. They werenât actively trying to get pregnant, but they also werenât actively doing anything to prevent getting pregnant either. But the miscarriages were always early. 6 to 8 weeks along. Bryce honestly thought they were in the clear this time when 10 weeks rolled around, but Casey was less convinced. She didnât want to get her hopes up, she didnât want to tell anyone unless she made it through the first trimester.
âSo I get to do this now.â He mumbles against her lips, pulling her shirt up to expose her belly and placing adoring kisses over her skin. Thatâs something else she wouldnât allow, worried they were going to jinx themselves and lose the baby if they were too happy, too excited about it. âI love you.â He whispers against her slightly rounded stomach.
âMe, or the baby?â Casey asks, running her hands through his hair.
âBoth.â Bryce responds. Â Â
Casey smiles. âIâm going to make a 16-week ultrasound appointment. I want pictures, and to find out the gender.â
âI hope itâs a little girl. I hope she looks like you.â Bryce reveals, kissing her belly again to seal the wish.
âI bet Eric wants a brother.â Casey replies, eyes shining with merriment. âShould we tell him heâs going to be a big brother?â
Bryce grins, shaking the toddler awake. âWe have amazing news buddy.â
âŠ
..
.
âThat is really cold.â Casey complains as the technician puts the gel on her belly.
âBut worth it to see your baby.â The cheery tech insists, turning on the machine and working on getting a clear picture.
Bryce squeezes Caseyâs hand in excitement as the blob on the screen starts to take form. The tech moves the transducer around, stopping when she spots something. âWell, thatâs definitely a penis. Itâs a boy!â She reports.
âAnother boy.â Casey says softly, but with no disappointment. Sheâs still in disbelief that sheâs carrying this child, getting to experience every moment of pregnancy.
âAnd I think thereâs another one.â The tech reports, moving the transducer.
âAnother one?!â Bryce exclaims, Casey squeezing his hand this time in her surprise.
âYep, thereâs another one. Baby B is a girl!â The tech reveals, grinning at the stunned couple.
âTwins?â Casey says in disbelief.
The tech nods, wiping the gel off and printing their ultrasound photos for them. âIâll give you guys some privacy.â
âTwins.â Bryce parrots.
âAnd a girl too.â Casey adds, hands resting over her belly protectively. âWow, twins. You think I get double maternity leave for two babies?â Casey jokes.
Bryce laughs, pressing a quick kiss to her lips. âI know we get a discount at the Edenbrook Daycare Center. With two kids enrolled, the third is half price.â
âŠ
..
.
âAAAAHHH!â Casey yells, sweat slicking her forehead as she pushes.
Bryce is posted at her shoulder, wiping her forehead with a cloth every few minutes. âYouâre doing amazing baby. Keep breathing.â
âThis hurts so fucking bad! I canât believe you did this to me!â
âCasey, it was definitely a team effort.â Her answering glare is murderous, but then her eyes squeeze shut as sheâs hit with another contraction.
âGive me your hand.â She demands through clenched teeth.
Bryce hesitates. âAre you going to break my hand?â
âI donât fucking know Bryce, just give me your fucking hand, coward!â Casey never curses like this, especially not at him, itâs off putting.
âIâm a surgeon baby, I kind of need my hands.â
âAaahhhh!â She screams again, doubling over in pain. He finally gives in, gripping her sweaty fingers. She squeezes really hard, and heâs worried she is actually going to break his fingers. He manages to pry her off his hand, giving her his strong bicep to squeeze instead. Letâs see her break that.
âYouâre almost there.â Their OBGYN encourages, positioned between Caseyâs legs. âJust a couple more pushes mama.â
âWeâre never doing this again Bryce! If you want another baby, weâre adopting.â Casey insists, squeezing his bicep and pushing again. Â
âThree is plenty babe. Although Iâve always wanted to adopt.â Bryce replies, pressing a kiss to her sweaty forehead.
âI see the first baby! Keep pushing!â The doctor orders.
Casey pushes, letting out another loud scream. Their babyâs cry fills the room soon after. âItâs the girl!â The doctor announces, handing her off to be cleaned up after cutting the umbilical cord. âJust one more mama. Youâve got this.â
Casey pushes again, (Bryceâs bicep is definitely going to bruise) and their youngest son is born, crying just as loudly as his twin sister.
âWould you like to do the honors?â Their doctor asks, handing Bryce the scissors to cut his sonâs umbilical cord.
Bryce cuts, and their son is whisked off to be cleaned up.
âSorry for cursing at you.â Casey apologizes, turning to look at him.
Bryce smiles, kissing his wife softly. âSorry for getting you pregnant.â He apologizes with a wink as he pulls away.
âHaha.â Casey says sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Her momentary irritation with him is immediately forgotten when her babies are placed in her arms. âOh my god, theyâre so beautiful. Whereâs Eric?â
Bryce gently runs a finger over his daughterâs soft cheek, and then rustles the few strands of brown hair on his sonâs head. âWith Sienna in the waiting room. Iâll get him.â
..
.
Eric meeting the new babies isnât as cute as his parents envisioned. The toddler is rather standoffish. Casey still gets pictures though.Â
Eric is very skeptical of these new babies. Being an only child was pretty great. And these things donât seem to do anything, besides cry and poop. Heâs not really sure why his parents are so enamored.Â
(They do grow on him eventually.)

O Little Town of Edenbrook | Ethan Ramsey X MC (Louise Haas)
Note: I clearly have no medical background and all accounts in this story are FICTION and it may not may ethical or logical in a real world hospital.
TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of seizures and child abandonment
Summary: itâs the holiday season at Edenbrook and Dr. Ramsey assigns Louise to a new patient and the case hits a little too close to home for both of them.
Word count: 1523
Part One | Christmas Eve
âI canât believe youâre leaving me too.â Louise sighed and flopped down onto the sofa next to Landry. Though there was three inches of snow on the ground outside, her roommate was dressed in a floral button-down top and obnoxiously bright neon shorts. His family was meeting in the Bahamas for Christmas.
âRelax,â Landry said just as a text from his Uber flashed on his screen. âSienna and Elijah will be back Wednesday. Jackieâs flight lands at noon on Thursday and mine at three.â
Louise followed Landry when he stood and walked to the door where his battered luggage waited. She gave him a tight squeeze before he disappeared down the hall. Then she was alone in the hallway, rubbing her hands on her arms to keep warm. The heater in their shitty building went out an hour earlier and the technician hadnât made it yet. Louise paused at the blinking Christmas lights she and Sienna hung around the doorframe and smiled. If she couldnât spend Christmas with her family, then she was glad that her friends could.
All she had to do was get through two days at the hospital without her friends.
________
They started the holiday schedule two months earlier. The ten interns who placed in the top for three weeks minimum got the Christmas holiday off. Everyone else pulled straws, literally. Louise hadnât pulled a short straw and ended up switching shifts with Landry. It was a win-win. He got to be with his family and Louise got to stay far away from hers.
There was something unnerving about being one of the twelve interns in the atrium today. Louise looked around and saw only one familiar face that should be far away from Edenbrook. Aurora Emery. Louise soon realized locking eyes with her biggest competitor was a mistake because as soon as she made eye contact, Aurora stalked over to her.
âSurprised to see me, Haas?â Aurora asked. âThe look on your face was pretty priceless.â
âI am, actually.â Louise said. âYou placed first for the last seven weeks. Why are you here?â
âIf I wanted holidays off, I would have become a teacher. Christmas doesnât stop people from being sick or dying. And besides, I actually like helping people.â
Louise only nodded. She followed Auroraâs gaze to Dr. Ramsey across the room. He was standing behind Dr. Delarosa as she gave an enlightening speech about them being someoneâs Christmas miracle with his arms folded across his chest and looking at no one in particular. Â
âNow go save some lives!â Dr. Delarosa exclaimed with a clap of her hands. And Louise was off⊠to save some lives, indeed.
________
Louise was yawning by the time she finished with her last patient. Morning rounds took longer today. All of her patients were stable and she could take a much needed coffee break.
Danny waved as he pushed a patient by in a wheelchair. Louise waved back and felt a sudden longing for her friends.  It had barely been twenty-four hours since they disappeared to their family traditions but Louise missed them and Edenbrookâs maze of corridors felt overwhelming without them there.
âRookie,â Dr. Ramsey was walking toward her, casually with his hands in his pockets. âI hope you havenât killed anyone today, because I was coming to give you a new patient.â
âWhat? No. I-â Louise caught herself before she could sound any more like an idiot. âAll of them are alive and breathing.â
      âGreat. Follow me.â
Louise did. They continued down the hall to the elevators and waited for a band of nurses to spill out before stepping on. Dr. Ramsey pressed the button to the ground level where they crossed the atrium into the chaos that was the E.R.
âWoah,â Louise gasped as a half-naked man nearly knocked her over into the lap of a little girl with a marble stuck up her nose. âI didnât think itâd be packed like this on Christmas Eve.â
âItâs always crazy during the holidays, especially Christmasâ Dr. Ramsey kept his gaze straight ahead. âCome on.â
Louise followed Dr. Ramsey through a slight crowd of people until they reached the beds to the far right of the E.R. He went to the fourth one and pulled the curtain. There was a girl about seven with a head full of curly red hair sitting on the bed.
âHello, again, Bethany.â Dr. Ramsey said rather cheerfully, Louise noted. âHow did I do?â
âSheâs perfect!â Bethany smiled showing a lot of missing teeth.
âIâm sorry,â Louise raised an eyebrow. âPerfect for what, exactly?â
âBethany, here, didnât exactly like it when I showed up as her doctor this morning. And she had a specific request as to how her doctor should look. Someone that was-â
âA pretty girl doctor,â Bethany interrupted.
âYou think Iâm pretty?â Louise teased as she caught Dr. Ramseyâs eyes across the room.
âJust solve the case, Rookie.â Dr. Ramsey bumped fists with Bethany before leaving.
_________
There was one doctor on call in the pediatric wing and she approved of Louise taking the case. Bethany was admitted to a room on the pediatric floor and was seemingly fine as Louise ran more tests. Her chart only listed three symptoms: fever and severe chest pains. The fever was a sure sign of an infection and the chest pains could have been accompanied by a number of things. Simple enough, another doctor might have sent the girl home with antibiotics and pain meds but Louise noticed a slight yellow tint of the girlâs eyes.
Louise made a mental note to ask Bethanyâs mom if she knew how long her daughterâs eyes looked that way. Her name was Kate and she had hair that matched her daughterâs. She always smiled when she talked to Louise but disappeared shortly after Bethany was admitted. The nurse down at the E.R. said the woman stepped out to give her husband the car keys.
An MRI ruled out a muscle tear. And an IV of antibiotics helped reduce the fever.
This was the time when Louise would normally have Elijah or Sienna or Landry or even Jackie to analyze the symptoms with. Instead, she was sitting in the cafeteria alone picking over her cold kale salad.
âWhat do you look so gloomy about?â Aurora slid into the seat across from her, biting into an apple.
âNothing,â Louise sighed. âJust trying to solve a new case.â
âCare to elaborate? Maybe I can help.â
âA girl, seven. Fever and chest pain. And yellow tinted eyes.â
Aurora nodded, thinking. She took another bite of her apple and chewed slowly.
âAnd how did her blood cells look?â Aurora asked. And thatâs when it clicked.
âOh my gosh!â Louise said. âI bet theyâre sickled⊠I could kiss you right now. Youâve literally just saved my patientsâ life.â
âPlease, donât kiss me.â Aurora said but the corners of her lips twitched upward.
Louise grabbed her salad and tossed it into the bin before sprinting to the elevators. She nearly knocked down an elderly couple on her way.
_______
Dr. Ramsey was waiting in the pediatric wing when Louise stepped off the elevator out of breath from her sprint downstairs. She needed to get back in the gym.
âI figured it out.â Louise breathed.
âDo you need a minute?â Dr. Ramsey asked, raising an eyebrow.
      âNo. Iâm fine.â
This time, Dr. Ramsey followed her down the corridor to Bethanyâs room. From the window they could see her playing with a doll on her bed.
âItâs sickle cell anemia,â Louise said. âI know what youâre thinking but just because sheâs white it doesnât mean she canât have it. For her to have it, one or both of her parents has to be a carrier of the sickle cell trait. If only one carries the trait then the other must be a carrier of the beta thalassemia trait. And for a treatment I need a blood match donor.â
âWell done, Rookie,â He started to say but a thud stopped him. Louise turned to see Bethany on the ground, seizing.
âShit!â Louise was in the room in an instant, Dr. Ramsey close behind. The machines were beeping loudly.
      âGet her on her side!â
Louise rolled the girl on her side and stroked her hair out of her face as Dr. Ramsey moved back to the door.
âI need a code team on standby!â He shouted and looked down at his watch, timing the seizure.
âStay with me,â Louise whispered. âStay with me.â
_________
Louise made her final rounds of the day before returning to see Bethany. She was stable now, but in critical condition and staying the night in the ICU. Though she should be used to the tubes and the wires, Louiseâs heart ached when she saw the girl just lying there.
A round, gray haired woman stood with Dr. Ramsey and Dr. Shaw, the pediatric doctor on-call. They were discussing something intently. Dr. Shaw and the woman continued down the hall when Louise approached.
âWhoâs that?â Louise asked. âWhatâs wrong?â
âMallory Fitch from CPS.â Dr. Ramsey said. âIt appears Bethanyâs parents have abandoned her.â
part two soon to come
