5 Green flags 🟩 VS 5 Red Flags 🟥

Well well, My last post about Keigo have lots of support from you all, and like I said, I'm willing to do a part 2 about Bakugo Katsuki sooo, here I am.

Tell me if you want a part 3 and which character you would like.

Let's start with his red flags. Let's be clear that Katsuki does have a few, it's true that it's nice to imagine him as an attentive boyfriend who takes the initiative, and I firmly believe that he would be like that, but that shouldn't hide the little things he has that can get on your nerves at the time of a fight.

Now, let's start listing his bad things:

1. He acts like you're a burden: I don't think he would do this on purpose, but he would. Comments like "What the fuck do you want now?", "Stop bothering me", "You're too intense", "Will you shut up?" can come up at the beginning of the relationship. Even to the point that you feel bad about his independent actions, as if you were just another thing on his list. Of course, deep down he doesn't consider you a burden, but he expresses himself as if you were one.

2. He doesn't open up to you: Katsuki has this constant thought that he can't be inferior, that he has to be the best and his feelings can be a difficult thing, and I think that in a relationship he feels a lot more pressure about all this to be strong and show you how tough he is. So I think that for a long time he won't tell you if something is wrong with him even if it's clear that something is wrong with him. This could just be something normal, but I add it as a red flag since a large part of Katsuki's life is clouded by those insecurities, so he doesn't tell you how he feels every time he sees Deku, or how he was in training, or how he felt when he won something, because if he does, his facade will fall apart. This ends up being something that can affect the communication between you two.

3. He doesn't understand you: He tries, he really does, but he just has a hard time understanding when you feel bad. He's so used to minimizing what's happening to him that he doesn't understand why it affects you so much. So you might be crying in his arms, and he might be hugging you, but deep down he doesn't understand, and that's terrible in arguments, because he doesn't understand why you're angry or why you're sad or why you're disappointed, he tries to fix it but he doesn't understand the roots of the problem.

4. He's jealous: Like, not jealous to get insecure when he sees you with a friend, jealous to get furious when he sees you with another man. And that, OBVIOUSLY, brings problems. He trusts you, he doesn't trust them, he knows you're hot and he also knows that the other jerks know it. So don't doubt that he's going to complain to you repeatedly that a certain person shouldn't be so close to you, or that he doesn't get along very well with a certain friend.

5. His anger: In the anime we can already see that he is a little bit... impatient. He tries to control himself with you, he truly loves you and treats you with his best version, but there are times when you simply act in a bad way, I mean, you also have your red flags, and that makes him angry, and you too, then you fight. A lot. For a long time. A lot of yelling. And probably a lot of painful words that he doesn't really feel, but says them, because his fury is faster to speak than to think, analyze and meditate.

Now, like every person, he has his flaws and his virtues. He has things to improve and things that you should love, because they are incredible.

So let's see what those good sides are and let's see which side of his personality ends up winning, let's see the second side of his furious personality.

1. He doesn't talk, he acts: Maybe he doesn't open up to you as much as he should, but he decides to make you feel comfortable by letting you know that he loves you through more practical methods. Are you hungry? He cooks, are you sick? He takes care of you, do you want a snack? He buys it. Because actions are worth more than words, so he decides to act, he decides to give you what you want, and consider yourself lucky because you are the only one who sees his helpful side.

2. He puts you first: If his friends invited him out to eat something, he won't care if you sent him a text telling him to go with you to buy something. If his mother told him she was going to celebrate a birthday with the family, he'll run away because you asked him to bring you some chocolates. Because he knows that if you love someone, you're not going to replace them with the smallest things, so if he has to make a decision that involves you, you'll always be the right answer.

3. He is not ashamed to show you off, he loves to do it: You are also part of his achievements, and being the show-off that he is, he will show you off. God, he has a sexy, smart, strong, kind and hot girlfriend, he has to show you and show them that you two are together, that he is a lucky and happy man.

4. He knows you: I think this is important, but not all men do it, in fact those who do are very few. Because not all of them observe you, remember, learn and please you, but Katsuki does. He is observant and knows how to listen, maybe he doesn't understand perfectly why you feel so much, why you get excited and sad about small things, but he knows that you do it, he knows how you feel, he knows how you reacts, he knows what you like and how he knows you, he knows how to please you, he knows how to make you happy with a gift, he knows how to excite you, he knows how to make you laugh and he knows how to make you feel loved.

5. You're part of his future: If he sees himself as a great hero, he sees you by his side, making and fulfilling your dream. Holding your hand. Kissing you. Hugging you. Caressing you. That's what he sees. Maybe two house, or a single one, whatever you want, maybe 2 children, or maybe none, just a pet, maybe a red car, or maybe a black car, but within all those variables there is one constant: you.

Sorry, this doesn't match your way of seeing Katsuki. Remember that he is still a character that each one sees and imagines in their own way, but I try to do it in a way that everyone feels comfortable.

In lieu of prompts because I've been too busy to be creative lately, here are a few of the fics I've been enjoying with lately.

Cedere Nescio by dogmotif

Katsuki joins the Hero Commission instead of following the usual path to UA. I find this fic moves at a nice energetic pace and really gives realistic motivations for Katsuki. They don't make him feel one dimensional, his motivations and thoughts feel fairly juvenile and yet move the story as they should. I think it's really solid characterization and the author doesn't waste words on the frills, it's a very straightforward read which works well.

Will of The Fates by feltcutemightdeletelater

Ex Jedi Shouta aizawa has a run in with a fleeing Padawan learner katsuki bakugou. They end up on a harrowing journey back to the temple to warn the council about the rise of the sith. But not everything is as it seems.

I'm honestly surprised this fic doesn't have more hits. This author was done a prompt fill for us and written some really solid work before. I go back to their stuff frequently because they have just really solid characterization work I like their style of conflict creation. This story is very much the same gold you get with the rest of their work. Great conflict, an interesting premise, the promise of gallons of angst and a really touching relationship between katsuki and shouta.

My Hero Academia is the first series ever where the main character get throw in the sideline so much he is not the main character anymore for another character. Like holy shit wtf man. I am still struggling to understand the ending despite rereading the entire time. There are rushed endings but my god at least the author in rushed endings do give him some of respect to main character. In MHA, it is nothing

When it comes to shonen anime and manga (i say shonen because that's where i have seen, it mainly happen tbh)

Heck, this is a common thing to the point that there are YouTube videos based on showing it. Take, for example, this👇.

In this case, you kinda get the obvious, which is the main character : izuku midoriya and the one who stole the show : katauki bakugo.

See here is the thing a lot of the time mangakas due to the competitive and toxic industry they are in will prirotise and parade the fan favourite character as that's what gets them money. While you can argue that this may not be true for every series, you have to admit that it's weird that just right after bakugo started getting popular after the sports festival arc he also ended up getting a lot more screentime and that in my own opinion is due to the money that bakugo can bring into the series.

Now add this and combine it with the fact that horikoshi has stated that his favourite character is also bakugo katuski, and then you get well a certain mixture (unpleasent to say the least)

Due to this combination, the focus of the story shifting to bakugo makes sense while izuku becomes an accessory piece to the story that the author uses to vaguely delve into the intracies he built in his story.

I wasn't particularly surprised by the ending as the treatment of the izukus character and the way the stories themes were being handled were already quite poor from the beginning of the bakugo vs. izuku 2.0 fight, meaning that my expectations were low.

There are various posts talking about the characters' assassination that izuku has been through, and honestly, I agree heck I was one of them.

Of course, they are custom made, and when the person in the store sees the sketch they say "your partner must be a Dynamight/Deku fan"

And they just think how THEY are actually the fan marrying "their hero"

I imagine that this is during some kind of anniversary, maybe their debut as a duo for fluff, and for angst the day All Might retired.

I bring the latter up cause I imagine that they bring it up as years go by after the war, of course they blurt out that prior to that Bakugou's kidnapping happened but the media and people at UA Don't know how to keep their mouths shut, so Deku gets defensive towards Bakugou but when he blonde speaks against his defenses, the green haired boy decides to do something else and more focused on Katauki, so he plans a entire day where they can get their minds off of what happened and decide to celebrate something else, maybe they celebrate how All amight was a great hero for them, or how they finally came into terms and were finally friends, doesn't matter, Katauki gets happy, so Deku is happy, and they decide to make it into a tradition.

Fast forward maybe 5 years into the future, and they're are now at a rooftop of a building admiring the city, and so Deku starts his speech, and brings out the ring box, when he looks at Kacxhan, he also has a ring box out

The internet goes crazy over their engagement, especially the Bakusquad when it came to who's gonna be the best man/woman

I think I noticed something. When our favorite character does something we don’t like, we logically realize that it’s the fault of the writers and we blame them for it, not our favorite character which you know, doesn’t have an agency to act on their own. But when a character that we don’t particularly care about does something we don’t like, it’s the character’s own fault as if they’re real and have agency and not the fact that there’s a writer that has decided to write them that way. So we just say we hate that character instead of acknowledging that the writer has writing them that way (im not saying that all fictional characters should be perfect and written in a way that everyone loves them. That’s both impossible and utterly boring).

(Maybe my point is if you saw people saying they have started hating a character for what THEY have done, maybe the reason is the character hasn’t been their favorite to begin with and if they’re saying they’re upset the writers made the character do something, that shows the character is their favorite and they want it to remain their favorite.)

Anyway, I think our relationship with fiction and reality and how each of us perceive fiction and our attachment to certain fictional characters is a truly fascinating subject of study.

Ab "Kacchan"

Y'all Midoriya choose his hero name 'Deku' bc it has a meaning- 'You can do it'. It's not bc Bakugou gave him that name, Uraraka is responsible for it. Kacchan doesn't mean anything heroic.

Katsuki + chan. '-chan' is used for a very close friend, someone who's like a family to you. '-chan' is also a diminitive name ending, it is mostly used for women so guys might feel a bit belittled, or feel a bit embarrassed by it.

Btw he hates Deku, Kacchan sounds cute so it would be awkward that someone as explosive as Bakugou has the hero name 'Kacchan'.
