Kat wasn’t certain if it was wise to leave Bakura alone, but she really needed to get her wings back in order. Despite them not being visible with her mortal visage, it didn’t stop the fact that she could still feel the ghost-sensation of their irritation.

She walked to the patio of the raised balcony that was attached to her room, and summoned her ka. A blue-black mare with fire for its mane and fetlocks, along with a set of fiery wings appeared. She pulled herself up onto the mare’s back, then looked one last time at Bakura.

“Try not to do anything I wouldn’t do,” she half-joked. She was certain there would be more loot in the room by the time she returned, but she wasn’t too worried about her friend running into Anubis. The God probably thought Bakura was her consort after the earlier awkward encounter.

She kicked her heels lightly into the mare’s sides, prompting it to take flight. Nephthys would have a suggestion, she was certain of it. She had helped Isis in finding all the parts of Osiris, along with reforming the God. If anyone knew how to search for the impossible, it would be her…even if it meant Kat would have to be the one traversing the living realm to hunt down the souls required to free Bakura’s people.
