just as i was about to post this, i thought it was becoming a movie. its not. i got my hopes up for all of five minutes and now i'm crushed. but moving on from that.

this book in three words? ~ REVENGE ~ KICK-ASS ~ EXHILIRATING~

this book made my entire life better. Seriously.

Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian - I love you for writing this book. And then continuing it into a trilogy. because seriously before i read this, there was a big, burn-for-burn shaped hole in my bookshelf. Kat Lillia and Mary became my inspiration for all the revenge i've exacted- i mean, what? Theres romance, revenge, friendships, and even passes the bechdel test (even though its not a movie, which is what the test was designed for).

I have a playlist dedicated to this book. Imma going to write it out. This is why we can't have nice things, i did something bad, getaway car, you need to calm down, afterglow, good 4 u, brutal, miss amercana and the heartbreak prince, mess her up, look what you made me do, traitor, no body no crime, what it means to be a girl, little miss perfect, dont blame me, secret, illicit affairs, cinderella's dead. (i know its a lot of taylor swift. what can i say. im a swiftie.)

Bide your time until graduation." "Like what kind of clubs?" Her face scrunches up. " I don't know, Mary! Clubs aren't my thing. It's whatever you're interested in. You got to put yourself out there. Make some new friends. Focus on the things that make you happy. I don't mean to sound like a bitch, but you need to get a life, because you've got another full year here before you graduate." She makes it sound so simple. Maybe it is. " I know you're right," I say. "It's hard." "It doesn't have to be, though." Kat leans up against a tree. "You just do it, and you don't let your feelings get in the way." She pats her chest. " I hardly ever think about my feelings. You know why? Because if i ever sat there and cried over every single bad thing that's happened to me, I'd never get out of bed." Her eyes find mine, and she looks at me deeply. "I swear to you, it'll get better. You've just got to make it through this part." I pull my coat around myself. Kat's right, I know it. I know better then to wallow like this. I lost a whole year of my life after i tried to kill myself over what Reeve did. I can't let that happen again. "Thank you." I say it and i truly mean it, from the bottom of my heart. Because there is one big difference between then and now. Now i have friends looking out for me. / *Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian are great authors. Kat Debrassio sounds like the kind of friend i needed during high school, before i dropped out. Books are more comforting then actual people.
