Hi everyone! I was so very excited to take part in a little thing that gestated on the @steddiebang2024 discord server! An art exchange! I've never done one of these before and I was so excited to try something new, learn new techniques and collaborate with an amazing person @kassifieddocuments2 who provided me with this beautiful line art! It was then up to me to colour it in! I learned so much from this experience and I had a great time with it!

Below is the completed piece and I have put the line art below the cut.

Chapter 1 - Primal Call

Excerpt below cut:

It started as Eddie held him against the boat house wall with a bottle to his neck. Steve looked into deep brown eyes as Eddie glared at him, expression all fear and fire. He should have been afraid of being injured. Part of him was, but the other part, the wolf under his skin was just staring back.

He didn’t understand it then. He didn’t understand it at Skull Rock, or on the lake, or walking through the Upside Down, or stealing the RV. All he knew was that the animal inside him was drawing him towards Eddie. Pulling him into the orbit of the other man like the gravity of a black hole. That he could see some of the same confusion in Eddie did not help him figure it out.

Wiggly Wednesday 🧠🪱

Today my brain is a little bit melted so my brainworm is a short one, but thank you so much @just-my-latest-hyperfixation for the tag!

Today I'm thinking about driving instructor Steve, and Eddie, whose driving license was revoked, attending Steve's safe driving lessons. And during the break, Eddie teaches the other students how to hot-wire a car………. only in an emergency situation of course!

I'm having so much fun writing for the @steddiebang2024 with @slippy-slip I'm excited to work with the delightful @kassifieddocuments2 too!!

Annnyywwaaayyy here's my little snippet, enjoy a little bit of death......

✏️“Tell me again what happened Mr Harrington?” Officer Callahan asked as he opened his notebook and took a pen out of his pocket.

“He came around earlier this evening ranting and raving about how I’d apparently been talking to his girlfriend, he was just screaming at me saying that if I even looked at her again he was going to kill me” Steve sobbed out “then all of a sudden he just ran at me, I didn’t know what to do, I was trapped in a corner and I just grabbed the nearest object and hit him. I didn’t mean to hit him as hard as I did. As soon as he went down I dropped the trophy and ran towards him, I called 911 and everything, I tried to keep him alive”

“Alright son, let's get you out of here and down to the station to get your official statement on file.” The officer said, finishing up his notes and pocketing his things.

Chapter 3: Transformation

Excerpt under the cut

Steve crawled his way back to consciousness reluctantly. The closer he got the worse he felt. He was hot, he was sweaty, he ached all over. All signs of fever, but he didn’t understand why. His wounds had been healing and he’d only ever felt this ill once when puberty combined with his werewolf genes, waking up the wolf inside, even though he couldn’t shift. He did not get sick, like ever.

It made thinking hard.

The stale scent of his own sweat made it to his nose first, but there was another scent there too. It took him a few moments, but he realised that was what was dragging him to consciousness. As if that was the kick-start he needed, he managed to open his eyes.

A little snippet from SharkBilly!

Food and water. Yeah. It’s just like a school trip only… It's forever. Steve feels it deep in his bones and somehow he’s not surprised, like it was a call he always waited for without knowing it. With a sigh, he grabs his duffle bag and goes into the kitchen where he finds a few bottles of water and some crackers that he packs immediately with some fruit.  In the kitchen, the calendar stares back at him. Honk Kong, that’s where his parents are now. They are supposed to come back next week. For a moment Steve wonders if he should leave a note or something, but then he chuckles to himself, what could he write? Hi Dad, I’m leaving with my shark boyfriend to live with him in the ocean? It makes no sense. The loud thud of Billy’s tail on the marble pavement attire his attention. “There’s no need to leave any message,” he says, “everyone will think you died in the fire.” “The fire?” “Jonathan and Hopper got back to the Hawkins National Centre for Scientific Research and burned it down.”

“We need to reconnect with the others,” Eddie decided suddenly while they were all sitting around just talking.

It had been a couple of hours and Steve had finally started to relax. At that, however, he was instantly on alert again.

“Are you sure you’re up to that, Eds?” he asked. “You’ve only been a wolf a day and you’re a new alpha.”

“Gotta agree, Boy,” Wayne added.

“I know what logic says,” Eddie replied, “but I’m literally feeling none of the aggression that’s supposed to come with being an alpha. So much so that I’m beginning to think it’s all shit made up so alphas can be assholes. And I might get a worse reputation than Steve for mothering the kids if the amount of protective feelings I have about Robin is anything to go by, but this town is still in danger. Sitting here feels all kinds of wrong.”

“Why didn’t you want to be a werewolf?” Steve asked, as his thoughts caught up with that titbit of information.

“All the baggage mostly,” Eddie replied, finally beginning to eat. “I’m a bit of a free spirit if you hadn’t noticed…”

That made Steve smile for real.

“…all the pack stuff was a bit much for me,” Eddie continued. “My dad never got on with it and it messed him up a lot, so I decided I didn’t want to deal with it. Mawmaw just told me if I ever changed my mind to go to her and she’d give me the bite to make me a full-blood.”

“And I just took that choice away from you,” Steve said, all humour dissolving away.

“My eyes were really purple?” Steve asked as he nibbled on his fourth waffle.

Eddie seemed to have no doubts he was an omega, but he couldn’t help doubting himself. An omega werewolf was a legend, a story wolves told their kids like Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella. According to the stories, the most obvious trait of an omega was their eye colour compared to normal werewolf gold, or alpha gold and red.

“Stevie,” Eddie said, reaching over and taking his hand, “I know it’s hard to believe, but yes. You are an omega, the be all and end all of werewolf kind.”

“But why me?” he responded.

I remember it was on AO3 and Eddie was stuck in a time loop, falling in love with Steve. The one thing I clearly remember is Eddie survives one loop and Nancy doesn't so Steve ask Eddie to kill himself. I think he makes Steve do it instead?

Chapter 6 - Another First

Sitting down with a thump, he let the world bombard him. Now that he had shifted and Eddie was right there touching him, he felt calmer, and his raging thoughts were finally beginning to calm down.

“Amazing, isn’t it,” Eddie said, giving him a huge smile.

He made a noise of agreement. It was as if the missing piece of him had finally slotted into place. The sharpness of his senses was overwhelming, and the feel of his new muscles and body shape was crazy, but it felt so right he could let it all wash over him and simply sink in. He probably would have sat there and let it happen some more, but his stomach gave a huge gurgling growl.
