a little birdy (scrap.tf user) told me i should be more patient with my art and commit myself to it more. so here's a doodle i made yesterday in about an hour and a half. it kinda looks like a ctrl-alt-del character but eh, could be worse

As promised, here's some Mouthwashing fanart! A game I've admittedly never played, but vicariously experiencing the story alone was enough to hook me.

I'm really proud of how this turned out. I'll admit much of it is traced; to be fair, that was kind of a necessity. But the eyes and the gun were all me, albeit with help from references. I think it turned out really well. It actually looks a lot like how I imagined it before I started working on it, which I think is a good sign I'm improving as an artist.

Stream of Consciousness

I uh... I'm going through some things right now. I promise I'll draw something other than vent art eventually.

It's not just ADHD. It's the triple threat, ADHD, anxiety, depression, all working in this horrible dance of twisting thoughts screaming past at a million miles an hour. When it's hard to make sense of my own mind, I find it even harder to make sense of reality.

Uuuuuh, anyway, enough of my complaining. Next up is probably some Mouthwashing fanart! I haven't even played the game, I just really, really like the story.

Wow, this took forever. An not like with my fox drawing which it took 2 days and I called it forever, this took me weeks. But yknow what? It was worth it. This might just be my magnum opus.

Some Perspective Practice

I think it turned out okay. The cloud isn't... great, but it's at the very least better than my first draft, where it just looked like a giant floating tumour. I'm quite proud of the actual perspective work, but everything else is maybe a bit meh.

To be fair, I got everything from the big cloud to all of the shading done today in a bit of a feverish rush. Literally, I caught a bug going around. My throat feels like it was rubbed raw with sandpaper in my sleep, someone deliver me from this hell pls.

I couldn't be bothered to draw any big single thing this weekend, so here's some weekend doodles!

Same version with the rough sketches visible. I kinda like the aesthetic.

I might try to do this every weekend. It was honestly a lot of fun, and great practice.

Speaking of practice, yeah, this whole thing was essentially one big exercise in perspective. As you can probably tell, some of it is still a bit... jank. That was about expected. But honestly, just a couple days ago I couldn't even begin to draw just about anything at an angle besides head on or directly from the side. And honestly, some of these don't look too shabby. I'm especially proud of the bottom-left, and the family guy death pose up there.

I get that just drawing things from other slightly more challenging angles isn't exactly super-serious perspective practice, but as more or less a beginner to drawing this is a skill I have yet to master, and now I feel like I'm one step closer.
