One of the latest missions from the ISS is kind of amazing. The High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment consists of four cameras that have been attached outside of the ISS. Though temperature is controlled, the cameras are exposed to the radiation from the sun, which will allow astronauts to understand how radiation affects the instruments.

hey you! yes you. do you suffer from anxiety? turn off your ask box.

sounds like a joke doesn't it? but I'm not actually joking. I'm not ordering you. I'm just suggesting. because if you have a certain number of followers and a constantly open ask box, you are opening yourself up to anxiety. you are making yourself available to anyone and everyone. you are making yourself available for people to have an opinion about what you say and do all the time. it's great that people can say nice things to you, but let's be honest here - that's not what always happens. having your ask box open all the time means you're expected to read and reply to all the messages you get. if you don't, you feel bad about it at best. you're "a stuck up elitist bitch", or even worse. but who is available all the time to everyone and feels good about that? find other ways to stay in touch with your friends. skype. whatsapp. facebook. email. places where you can choose to log in - and more importantly to not log in - to read messages. and then turn off your ask box for a while. it feels really good.

turn it back on when you feel in the mood to be talkative. that's just what I think.
