"Mmm, no, I don't think so." It was another day at the Indigo Plateau, and Will was practicing his silly little magic tricks, although he had a special focus on Karen today. He wasn't sure if it was because of her pokémon, or from some other mysterious force, but, for whatever reason, Karen was immune to his psychic tricks.

No thought-reading, no telekinesis... even his magic tricks, simple sleight of hand, always failed. This time, he had asked her if thiiis was her card!

And it wasn't! He gritted his teeth as he shuffled the deck once more. Karen simply yawned, running another hand through her hair before flashing a smirk.

"You can't out-trick me, Will, I thought you would've figured that out by now~" Karen chuckled at the magician's annoyance. "I'm surrounded by Dark types all day. Do you really think that anything you do is more sneaky than Murkrow sneaking coins into her roost, or Spiritomb trying to absorb someone's soul when they're not looking?"

"Bah!" Will waved dismissively, stashing his cards and producing some cups. "I'll dazzle you yet!"

Karen's smirk widened. It was always so fun watching Will continually fail to impress her. "Mmhmm, well, perhaps you should work on your little tricks... you're coming off as desperate, dear."
