Gotta love the drama playing backfill. I was Genji, even tho I'm terrible at him and the former player who left wanted to return to the Quickplay match. They said I'm bad and I said I'm a Hanzo main, just having fun. Their response was "but sword" and I'm like "nah" and quickly switched to Hanzo lol. I adore Genji's karasu-tengu skin and spamming his "Happy Halloween!" Japanese voiceline, since Hanzo never received one hehe 😅🐉

Excited for the next Battlepass!!! I'm hoping for Hanzo's walk emote! ❤

Yea I’m sure @arseons knows this, but I was this close 🤏 to making a Gency fanfic featuring the karasu-tengu skin as an important plot point. While I personally believe the character/portrayal of Genji and Mercy didn’t stray too far from the source material in terms of personality, I just thought I could do more with the AU I created.

Said AU involved other skins from other characters from overwatch. “Canon” overwatch was the base world, while elf Tracer, kumiho DVA, Amaterasu Kiriko, Mummy Ana, etc. would enter said base world. Basically overwatch skin characters would get isekai’d into canon overwatch.

But again, that was a decent concept that I could play political with, and not just with the romance of Genji and Mercy, so boom! New characters.

TLDR: I overthought on a Gency romance fanfic and just made it original.

Now that I think about it, a bunch of Genji's skins have scarves. Though his base model is more of a headband that can look like a long scarf depending on the artist.

Well with every Overwatch character, they were designed with having certain elements in their silhouette that would be present in all their skins, so pretty much *all* of Genji's skins have to have cloth trailing behind him, usually a ribbon or a scarf, with the exception of his Ice Wraith skin, which just has a frost effect emanating from his head, and his Karasu Tengu skin, which just has... a spiky feathery head.
