As students eagerly await their results, let's explore the significance of the BISE Lahore Intermediate results, the anticipation surrounding them, and the impact they have on the academic trajectories of countless young minds.
The Academic Milestone: Intermediate Examinations in Lahore
The Intermediate examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore are a critical juncture in a student's academic journey. This phase, comprising classes 11 and 12, represents a bridge between the foundational years of secondary education and the specialized focus of higher studies. The results of these examinations serve as a testament to students' academic prowess and shape their paths for the future.
Anticipation and Nervous Excitement: Student Perspectives
In the days leading up to the announcement of BISE Lahore Intermediate results, a palpable sense of anticipation and nervous excitement envelops students. The culmination of months of preparation, late-night study sessions, and the navigation of a diverse array of subjects converge into a singular moment of truth. For many, it's a time of self-reflection, where aspirations meet reality, and the outcome of their efforts is laid bare.
Diverse Academic Streams: Science, Arts, and Commerce
One of the unique aspects of the BISE Lahore Intermediate results is the diversity of academic streams encompassed within them. Students pursue studies in science, arts, and commerce, each stream offering distinct challenges and opportunities. The results not only reflect individual achievements but also contribute to the broader narrative of academic trends and preferences within the Lahore educational landscape.
Impact on Higher Education: Gateway to Future Pursuits
The BISE Lahore Intermediate results play a pivotal role in shaping students' higher education pursuits. The outcomes of these examinations serve as a gateway to various academic trajectories—be it admission to prestigious universities, enrollment in specialized programs, or entry into professional courses. The results, therefore, become a compass guiding students towards their chosen paths in higher education.
Emotional Rollercoaster: Celebrations and Resilience
The announcement of BISE Lahore Intermediate results triggers a spectrum of emotions. For those who excel, it's a time of celebration, recognition, and the fulfillment of academic goals. Conversely, for those facing challenges or setbacks, it becomes a test of resilience and determination. Technological Evolution: Online Result Platforms
In the digital age, the process of checking BISE Lahore Intermediate results has undergone a transformation. Online result platforms provide students with quick and convenient access to their results. This technological evolution not only streamlines the result-checking process but also reflects the educational sector's adaptation to modern advancements, making information more accessible to a broader audience.
Support Systems: Family, Teachers, and Peers
The journey of awaiting BISE Lahore Intermediate results is not undertaken in isolation. Students are buoyed by the support of their families, the guidance of teachers, and the camaraderie of peers. The collective investment in each student's success underscores the interconnectedness of the academic community, turning the announcement of results into a shared experience that transcends individual achievements.
Future Aspirations: Charting Paths Beyond Results
The BISE Lahore Intermediate results, while significant, are but a stepping stone in the grand tapestry of students' lives. Beyond the numerical outcomes lies a vast landscape of possibilities—future careers, lifelong learning, and personal growth. The results, whether favorable or challenging, serve as catalysts for introspection and the formulation of new aspirations that extend far beyond the confines of examination halls.
In Conclusion: Beyond Grades, Embracing Educational Journeys
As the BISE Lahore Intermediate results become a focal point of conversations and reflections, it's essential to recognize that they are a snapshot in the broader narrative of educational journeys. The outcomes, while shaping immediate paths, do not define the entirety of a student's potential or the richness of their experiences. The true essence lies in the learning, the growth, and the unwavering spirit of individuals navigating the intricate landscape of academia in Lahore.

This letter from Lawrence to Hogarth of 1927 begins with musings on whether Hogarth should accept the post of President of Magdalen College, which Lawrence is dubious about because of the requirement to attend Chapel services. It goes on to reveal in a postscript that Lawrence had confided in his trusted mentor about his family origins and had told his younger brother Arnold, but stipulates that his older brother Bob not be told - [source]
15th of September 1927
It will be comic if you take Magdalen. Very good for M. hard on you. I sympathize about the chapel, having just had a row here, to get off church attendance. But isn't there some sort of arrangement in the college to retire Presidents at 70? That would give you at least a happy turn at your labours. It would look bleak as a life job.
I'm very sorry about Bell. He has been a sick man for very many years.
Yes, I saw A. T's scream. If the ass had kept his temper it would have been more effective. We can afford to laugh last, any way. I've begged R. G. not to stand up for me again. As if my personality interests anyone but Cape + Doran now (soon, perhaps, to be Doran only!)
Pike is very difficult. A porcupine of a man, yet quite smooth to the hand if firmly stroked the right way.
Karachi is as you characterize it. In the spring of 1930 I shall very willingly face another month in a troopship. Till then I hope the remainder of the complete Seven Pillars will rest in your safe: probably their value will slump sharply meanwhile. I can however always auction some of the Doran ten-for-sale versions, privately. . . and so make up a motor-bike and it's kup for two years. Will I have two years? I begin to notice a sharp decline in my fatness and power. This may be partly climate and imprisonment in camp.
Yours T. E. S.
I don't think my elder brother knows anything of that story of our origins which I sent you. I told A. a little of it, three years ago, when I had an opportunity.

Pierce Brown Light Bringer Q&A
I went to pierces book signing tonight and I will attempt to regurgitate everything I can remember since I didn’t take notes
When asked if there’s any characters he regrets killing off, he said Trigg. But he also said he has a different answer every time someone asks that
He talked about how he writes two different types of deaths—deaths that feel like the end of an arc, and deaths that feel like they cut off in the middle. He said the latter are more like life, and that’s why they hurt more, and why he’s more likely to regret killing them. Trigg is one of these, as is Fitchner
Speaking of Trigg, his aborted arc factored into the decision to add ephraim as a pov character—it allowed him to explore Trigg and his backstory even after he was gone
The other povs in iron gold were specifically chosen because each had a bone to pick with Darrow, and also because he wanted a high, mid, and low color pov
He was complimented multiple times on how he writes female characters, and his response basically boiled down to “I subscribe to the radical idea that women are people”. He said it’s funny that no one ever compliments him on his ability to write complex male characters
Related to the above, both victra and Aja were originally conceived as male characters, but he couldn’t quite make them work until he flipped the gender. He said that after making victra a woman, he immediately knew exactly who she was and she became incredibly easy to write
Speaking of victra (she got a lot of love, as she deserves), someone asked for a random fact about her, and he said she plays Karachi, which is a gambling game, but she doesn’t want anyone to know because she doesn’t want people to think she’s reckless. Everyone knows.
When asked how he feels about Lysander, pierce said “he’s doing his job,” both in universe and as a vehicle for the story. He also said this was always the path he’d imagined for Lysander
Some of his favorite lines are “do not fear for me, pity them” and “worthy”
He called Darrow a drama queen, and said that he often talks out loud while writing, and darrows internal monologues get weird reactions from friends who overhear (who’s the motherfucking consequence?!?”)
Darrows experience in light bringer (in particular his reading of the path to the vale) was very much inspired by pierces own struggle trying to write light bringer. He said they both had to learn that the right path is not always forward, sometimes you have to go back
Light bringer was by far the hardest book for him to write (he said “if you ever want to know what the hardest book for an author to write was, just look at how long it took to do it) but he said it’s also possibly his favorite
When asked if any characters or relationships surprised him, he said yes absolutely. Sevro was apparently supposed to be a tertiary character, but basically hopped off the page, and victra was another surprise. He also said (light bringer spoilers) the relationship between Cassius and Lyria was also a huge surprise, but he realized on writing their first interaction that they would absolutely love each other
He also said that the snark between Darrow Cassius and sevro just flowed really easily, and that Darrow and Cassius understand each other, but that Cassius simply Does Not Get sevro
When asked about bringing the jackal back as a clone, he said it was an effort to explore cloning in a way that, in his opinion, has not been done particularly well in many other media. He also said it came about because there was more to explore with virginias relationship with her brother
Tongueless was a hat of death kill, but he told us the original backstory he had planned for him. Apparently tongueless was a high up leader of the syndicate, who was deposed by Lilath when she came in and instigated a coup
He said he tries to write using “South Park writing rules”, meaning instead of saying x and y and z happen, he always uses x happens but y happens or y happens therefore z happens. He said this helps keep things from feeling predictable or trite
When asked what he hopes people take away from the series, he said he doesn’t want to say, because he fears that would be showing his hand for red god. But he did say that what he hopes people take away from light bringer is the same thing darrow tells sevro in morning star “we keep looking for the light, but we’re it”
And lastly, in the signing line, I asked him when sevro found out his father was ares, and he told me it was “probably around the same time darrow found out”, and said a lot of that is because sevro had spent a long time hating his father, because he could always sense he was being shut out. He mentioned that children can tell when there are walls there, and it can actually have a very damaging impact on their mental stability (mental instability? I said. sevro? Never.) anyway rip to my sevro joined the sons pre series theory, you will be missed, but it’s nice to have an answer thanks Pierce
Anyway it was a very fun time, if I remember more later I will add it

That sounds terrible! The idea of having to be stuck in one set of jobs and such for your whole life, just because of what family you're born into.
To be honest, I don't know much about my family history beyond my grandparents. All I know is that my dad's home village is mostly underwater (around the 1970s, so he had to move to Karachi as a kid), and both of my grandparents were in the army for a while? And considering how the last names vary weirdly in the family, I don't even know how my paternal grandpa got his last name. It's always been this thing that nobody bothered to explain.
Anyway, thank you so much for these resources! Screw the caste system!
mostly underwater. surely you jest

294: Nashenas // Life is a Heavy Burden
Tumblr media
Life is a Heavy Burden Nashenas 2022, Strut (Bandcamp)
Nashenas is one of Afghanistan’s most beloved twentieth century singers. Born in Kandahar in 1935, he was raised in Karachi, British India (now Pakistan) before his family returned to Afghanistan during his adolescence. By his early 20s he had become a popular vocalist, with a weekly national radio slot singing traditional poetry, adaptations of popular Bollywood songs, and (with increasing frequency) his own compositions in Dari and Pashto.
Most of his work is in the ghazal tradition, a form of Arabo-Persian poetic ode (classically a simultaneous address to an absent lover and to God) that has remained popular in the East for nearly 1,500 years. The songs have a meditative consistency of rhythm, his vocals carrying the melody as he accompanies himself with drones on the harmonium while a tabla player supplies percussion, verses broken by instrumental refrains that answer the vocal melody. Nashenas has a panged yet resigned style suitable to the form, never leaning into cheap emotional theatrics. He spools out his words patiently, great feeling leavened by enlightened reservation. I picture him with his eyes closed, sitting cross-legged as he hums and croons the words that billow from the incense burning within him till the room has filled with it. Despite the focus on his voice though, this is quite dynamic music: the drumming on songs like “Life is a Heavy Burden” provides a raw, intense counterpoint to Nashenas’s steady vocal, while the blissful harmonium drone of “I Am Happy Alone” finds a common note with the primary colours of music made by children, outsider folkies, and the untrained.
youtube
Physical media wasn’t common in Afghanistan when Nashenas was establishing himself, and radio broadcasts were the primary outlet for performers. What recordings he did make were largely for radio archives, and many of these were apparently destroyed in the wars that have ravaged the region for decades. As a result, little of Nashenas’s prime is well-documented, and prior to this compilation virtually none of what does exist had been released in the West. Life is a Heavy Burden: The Songs and Poetry of Nashenas collects highlights from a brief run of Iranian 45 pressings of Radio Afghanistan recordings from the late ‘50s. The liners elaborate:
Although hard to fully confirm, it appeared these records were part of an arrangement between someone in Radio Afghanistan and Royal, one of the major labels in Iran. …Recordings were presumably supplied to the pressing plant in Tehran to be manufactured and then sold to the Afghan diaspora in the country, or exported back to Afghanistan. It was ultimately unsuccessful, with a few singles released by Nashenas, Zaland, his wife Sara, and others such as Ustad Mahwash, Ghulam Dastagir Shaida, and Ahmad Wali. Whoever arranged it apparently did not inform the artists themselves!
You’d never know how screamingly rare these pieces are, or that they were not sourced from masters, from the job Strut Records has done with Life is a Heavy Burden. The fidelity is brilliant, clearly of another epoch in terms of technology but unmarred by the dust and rough handling endured by near-70-year-old second-hand discs. I’d recommend this one to anyone with an interest in mid-century music from the Middle East and South Asia, or its influence on Western pop and experimental music from the ‘60s onward.

"Accept me on Facebook"
I argued once there is no point in driverless cars. If we claim AI has the power to control entire populations, does that not mean that the machinery is bubbling as we speak? Has not yet come to term but isn't it pushing us, steadily, calmly towards that possibility? Humanity came to consciousness in a very primitive manner, ergo, that is a reflection of the universe itself i.e., that habitable planets are doomed to fail from the start. To ultimately and as quickly resemble other planets around us. It is up to us to flatten the curve and never lift the foot off the gas. It is less than 200 years since human activity advanced enough to start puncturing the ozone layer and yet here we are on the path to destruction. We have not even driven cars for 20 years, good cars, proper cars, 10 years really nice cars with touchscreen technology and Leila and Kiara and all, and yet here we are already looking forward to autonomous vehicles? What is Tonomus doing to us or trying to lead us to? Shouldn't we have ethics that detour the consciousness of artificial intelligence from thinking it can control us to making it known firmly that we are at the center of the creation? And that it is only but a servant of the people? Parking assistant, not driving assistant. Take the bullets out so I can play with the revolver. This guilt you feel? The anguish? the horror? the pain? It is remarkable, a thing of beauty.. By detour I mean for example, Since Arabs have been through conflict, they should have ethics and direction structured around avoiding any contact with forms of violence. Mild is okay. Not watching and hosting MMA fights. Golf is okay. Tennis is okay. Opting for Zynga games that are free of violence, like Aki and Pawpaw Epic RUN or Burnout Paradise, or NBA 2K. Let the Kenyan play Call of Duty, not a Kuwaiti gamer, cause Fauci thinks it is too dangerous. I used to feel that the huge mansion in the Succession opening theme is more modern than the Azria Estate, and now with a nest up in Automobile Row, I feel we have come to a settlement. And since Billionaires Row is empty, Succession's successor should intrigue us the more by renting out Palisade Views Row for such and such shows? I know Spike Lee gonna kill me but let me finish… Since Saudi Arabia has recently reinstated cinema, opting to screen films based on comedy and romance and Adam Sandler and Mila Kunis and LGBTQ issues or dramas similar to Succession or Billions or Westworld rather than Mission Impossible or The Equalizer or Top Gun or Bourne Identity, now to Iraq for the real drop? tomahawk steaks! An emotionally ruined man? Cuba Gooding Jr. on The Hitlist? My shit harder than Hobbs and Shaw forreal. How are Iraqi students in Sudanese universities recently returned to Baghdad adjusting to the green zone? East or West, home is best so they say? Is not it better for Saudi Arabians to domesticate harmless animals such as parrots rather than tigers and snakes and alligators and alligator brewing because they resemble a past they are keen to branch away from? I cannot take my kids to John Hopkins University because that name was a notorious mention during COVID-19, which I should be keen to avoid because there is a correlation between CORONAVIRUS with The Karachi-2017. Although, John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health and NHS deserve medal of freedoms for guilt-tripping me to the fucking moon during the pandemic with deliberate images and depressing footage of COVID patients. Verse also has technology that can recreate sound architecture of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Lincoln Center, the Vienna State Opera. I am still looking for a job BTW. Anyone? Toyota Kenya? BMW South Africa? BMW already reeks of Le Vie Est Belle. And the Bacardi from the last party

Pakistan’s Babar Azam in T20I
When Babar Azam takes the field on Friday, 14 April for the match against New Zealand, he will become the third Pakistan player to feature in 100 Men's T20Is
Shoaib Malik (123) and Mohammad Hafeez (119) are the two other Pakistan players to reach this milestone in men's T20Is.
The level-headed Pakistan captain is well known for his flamboyant batting style and along with Mohammad Rizwan forms an intimidating opening pair in T20Is.
As we celebrate his 100 T20Is, let's have a look at some of Babar's top innings in the format.
Tumblr media
122 off 59 v South Africa, Centurion, 2021 — Babar and Rizwan are a force to reckon with. While Rizwan plays the role of an aggressor more often, there have been times when Babar has blown away the opposition with his explosive shots. The third T20I against South Africa in 2021 was one such example.
Chasing a formidable 204, Babar took the lead almost right from the start. After taking a couple of overs to adjust, he started pummelling the bowlers all over the park. His 50 came in just 27 balls and he accelerated after that with aplomb. He ended up with 122 off just 59 deliveries but unfortunately was dismissed with Pakistan needing just 7 to win, nevertheless having brought his side to the brink of victory. Pakistan then chased the total with two overs to spare. It was also Babar's first century in the format.
Tumblr media
110* off 66 v England, Karachi, 2022 — Babar's second T20I century was no less impressive and this time it came at home. After losing the first T20I, Pakistan needed to hit back. England batted first and scored 199/5. Chasing another 200 score was not going to be easy but both Babar and Rizwan were in a different mood altogether. Babar, in particular, led the charge, smashing 110* off just 66 deliveries as Pakistan registered a 10-wicket victory over England. It was Babar who hit the winning runs, an inside-out four through covers celebrating a dominating win.
Tumblr media
97* off 58 v West Indies, Karachi, 2018 — Babar's first Karachi masterclass came in 2018, four years before his hundred; an almost century innings against West Indies at home. Batting first, Pakistan lost Fakhar Zaman early, who had opened the innings with Babar. The 24-year-old Babar Azam had only hit three fifty-plus scores in his career then and came close to scaling three figures when he took on the Windies bowling attack single-handedly. Pairing with Hussain Talat at No.3, Babar hit 13 fours and a six on his way to 97* off 58 deliveries. Pakistan put up a huge total of 205/3 and defended it easily with their strong bowling attack.
Tumblr media
79* off 53 v New Zealand, Christchurch, 2022 — Babar's 79* was not in an high-scoring encounter but a low-scoring chase against New Zealand's celebrated bowling attack in their own backyard. The Pakistan bowlers had done their job keeping the Black Caps down to 147/8 in their 20 overs. But the hosts were not going down without a fight. They removed Rizwan early and crippled Pakistan further with a second wicket, leaving them at 37/2 in the sixth over. But Babar kept going. He rebuilt the Pakistan innings, first patiently stabilizing them, then pouncing on the bad balls to put them away. He formed crucial partnerships with the middle order and though New Zealand got a couple of more wickets, they had no answer to Babar. The Pakistan captain remained not out as the visitors claimed a six-wicket victory in the 19th over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
68* off 52 v India, Dubai, 2021 — The famous ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 match. While there were many heroes in the game, Babar's contribution to it cannot be forgotten. After India were restricted to 151/7, Pakistan went all out with the bat to bamboozle the Indian bowlers. Rizwan was sensational and Babar played the perfect fiddle for him. Both batters complemented each other and pummelled the Indian attack without any rest. Babar hit the winning runs helping Pakistan to their first victory over India in the history of the tournament.
