â - a repressed memory
ăă
He didn't realize how much it would hurt, even after all that time in the hospital.
The doctors told him that the scar tissue had been bad enough to cause some serious damage- and with Bane's lack of movement, they had grown over nerves. Physical therapy could correct it, as if anyone would send him there.
And those nerves were being snagged every time he took a step towards that arc-forsaken building.
Maybe it was the pain, or the delirium, the overstimulation, maybe it was the way those 'caretakers' glowered down at him as they returned to the church- but he couldn't stay. Not here. As if there was someplace to run- even the woods wouldn't get the boy far, would he?
Before Bane could dwell at it for too long, the sounds of feet pattering on fallen leaves resonates through the surroundings before Bane is brought inside- Noctis emerges from the dark to greet him, run around him in circles and nudging his hand. He's beaming. It's the only sight in the world that could warm Banes heart.
But of course, good never lasts long. Noctis yelped as he's shooed back with a broom.
"What are you doing, boy?! Get inside!"
"Hey-! Stop it, stop, LEAVE HIM BE!"
Bane pet Noctis' head and gave him an urgent sort of look, but the Nocturodo didn't leave. The woman with the broom was growing agitated, shooing him off and smacking him with it.
"GO!" She shouted. "I will not have DEMONS in my church!"
Through the rage, Bane's head started to feel foggy.
"I will NOT have that demon boy in my church! He'll end up just like his mother!"
Bane sat before everyone- Bishops, Nuns and priests, all shouting the words in his face. A monster. A demon. He had been reffered to as such for so long now, that the words didn't make him think twice. Perhaps that was a part of him.
"And what do you suggest we do with him, Kathleen? Throw him out? What would that do for our image?"
"As if he hasn't tainted our image enough as it stands?! That boy is a monster!"
He's known for a very long time, he's never been welcome, he never WILL be welcome. A fact unchanging, that he learned since his very first steps. Nobody would lift him if he fell, nobody would clean his wounds when he got hurt, nobody to console him when he cried. There was one thing he knew was certain.
"We aren't opting to throw him outside! There's got to be someone else we could pawn him to!"
"And where would that be? Last I checked, nobody in the entirety of New Eterna wants to be within twelve feet of the boy, he's demonic!"
I can't stay here. This isn't home.
When Bane got up wordlessly and gunned it for those doors, all flew into chaos- Nuns climbing over eachother with reaching, angry hands, priests waving fists as Archbishops push through, the bell has just began to clang above them all as he tears his way through those doors, into the woods.
"Grab him!"
"Where is he going-?!"
"Get out of the way-!"
"Let GO!"
The bell reverberated through Merrtoz, the sound bouncing in his skull. The unforgettable sound, the melody was almost comforting... A nice tune to his departure. To his, likely temporary, freedom. But arc, did the wind on his face feel so healing.
He didn't know where to go, just to run away. Every step felt like barbed wire wrapped underneath the skin, tearing into his as he tears through the bramble to hide.
"Noctis!!"
"Noctiiiis...! Please! Where are you?!"
"NOCTIS!!"
That dizzy feeling starts to overtake all over again- his throat was hoarse now from shouting. A Kapok tree started to look mighty comfy, after all that running and screaming. He sat himself against the tree and brambles. He convinces himself Noctis will find him later- his only company wouldn't leave him too, right?
And as he shuts his eyes, the ideas of what was and what could have been flood over his rampant thoughts, every tear-stained, scarred up, ugly memory blurring into themselves.

Because of the way his feet and legs are built, it's actually a lot more comfortable for Kapok to crouch for long periods of time than it is to sit 'normally' in a chair. It's also not uncommon for him to hold things with his feet while he's doing other things. For example, he frequently holds a book in one foot, so that he can read while he's eating.
He'll usually only do that when he's on his own, though; his parents tended to discourage that sort of thing at the table.

Embrace Comfort and Sustainability with Thai Kapok Mattresses for Camping
When it comes to camping, the choice of sleeping gear can make or break the experience. Traditional camping mattresses often leave much to be desired in terms of comfort and environmental impact. Enter the Thai kapok mattress â a camp mat that combines luxurious comfort with eco-friendliness, making it an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts.
Comfort and Insulation
One of the foremost benefits of using a Thai kapok mattress as your camping mattress is the unparalleled comfort it offers for firm bed. Kapok, a natural fibre harvested from the seed pods of the kapok tree, is incredibly soft and lightweight.
This material provides a plush, cushioned surface while strangely still firm. Unlike inflatable mats that can deflate or become uneven, a kapok camp mat maintains its shape and cushioning throughout the night, ensuring a restful sleep after a day of outdoor activities.
Natural and Hypoallergenic
Kapok is a natural fibre that is both hypoallergenic and resistant to mould and mildew. For campers who suffer from allergies or sensitivities, this is a significant advantage. Traditional synthetic camping mattresses can harbor dust mites and other allergens, but kapok's natural properties help mitigate these issues.
This means you can enjoy a sneeze-free, itch-free nightâs sleep, even in the great outdoors.
Temperature Regulation
Another key benefit of a kapok camping mattress is its excellent temperature regulation. Kapok fibres have a natural ability to breathe, allowing for good air circulation. This means your camp mat will stay cool in hot weather and warm in cooler conditions, providing a more comfortable sleeping environment regardless of the season. No more waking up in a sweat or shivering through the night â a kapok mattress adapts to your bodyâs needs, offering year-round comfort.
Eco-Friendly Choice
In todayâs world, making environmentally conscious choices is more important than ever. Kapok is a renewable resource, and its cultivation does not require harmful chemicals or pesticides. Additionally, the harvesting process is sustainable and does not harm the kapok trees. By choosing a kapok camping mattress, you are supporting eco-friendly practices and reducing your environmental footprint. This aligns perfectly with the ethos of many camping enthusiasts who value preserving nature and minimizing their impact on the environment.
Lightweight and Portable
One of the practical considerations for any camping gear is its weight and portability. A kapok camp mat is impressively lightweight, making it easy to carry and transport. Despite its plushness, it compresses well, allowing it to fit into your car with your other camping gear without taking up too much space. You can enjoy the luxury of a comfortable mattress without the burden of cumbersome gear.
Durability and Longevity
Kapok mattresses are known for their durability. The resilient nature of kapok fibres means that your camp mattress will withstand the rigors of outdoor use. Whether you are camping on rough terrain or in humid conditions, a kapok mattress is built to last. This longevity translates to cost savings in the long run, as you wonât need to replace your camp mat frequently. Investing in a high-quality kapok mattress ensures years of comfortable camping experiences.
Minimal Disadvantages
While the benefits of a kapok camping mattress are numerous, there are a few considerations to keep in mind. Although the outer fabric is actually quite resistant to water, on a good drench, kapok can absorb moisture, so itâs important to use a waterproof cover or pad if you anticipate wet conditions. Additionally, kapok mattresses may not offer the same level of softness as some synthetic options, which could be a preference issue for those who need extra cushioning, however they do soften over time and can be topped with a mattress topper to further add cushioning. And although they con be rolled up, they can be slightly heavier than synthetic foam. However, these minor drawbacks are easily managed and do not outweigh the significant advantages.
Conclusion
In summary, a Thai kapok mattress is an exceptional choice for campers seeking comfort, sustainability, and practicality. The natural, hypoallergenic properties of kapok ensure a healthy and restful sleep, while its temperature-regulating abilities adapt to various weather conditions. By choosing a kapok camp mat, you support eco-friendly practices and enjoy a lightweight, durable, and comfortable sleeping surface. While there are minor considerations to keep in mind, the benefits far outweigh any potential drawbacks.Next time youâre planning a camping trip, consider upgrading your sleeping gear to a kapok camping mattress. Embrace the comfort, support sustainability, and enhance your outdoor adventures with this remarkable natural product. Happy camping!

Meditation Cushions
Introduction
Meditation has become a staple in many peopleâs lives as a way to find peace, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. Yet, anyone who has tried to sit still for an extended period knows that comfort is key to maintaining focus. This is where meditation cushions come into play. These simple yet essential tools can transform your meditation experience, making it more comfortable and effective.
Understanding Meditation Cushions
What is a Meditation Cushion? A meditation cushion is a specially designed cushion that provides support and comfort during meditation. Unlike regular pillows, these cushions are crafted to promote proper posture and reduce strain on your body, allowing you to sit comfortably for longer periods.
Historical Background The use of meditation cushions dates back to ancient times, particularly within Buddhist practices. Monks would use cushions to aid in their long meditation sessions, ensuring they could maintain the correct posture without discomfort.
Benefits of Using a Meditation Cushion
Physical Comfort Meditation cushions help distribute your body weight evenly, reducing pressure points and preventing numbness in your legs. This allows you to sit comfortably and focus on your practice rather than physical discomfort.
Improved Posture Good posture is crucial in meditation. A cushion elevates your hips, aligning your spine and reducing the strain on your back. This alignment helps in maintaining a straight posture, which is essential for effective breathing and concentration.
Enhanced Focus When youâre comfortable, youâre less likely to be distracted by physical discomfort. A meditation cushion helps create a stable and comfortable base, allowing you to focus your mind on your meditation practice.
Types of Meditation Cushions
Zafu Cushions Design and Features Zafu cushions are round and often filled with buckwheat hulls or kapok. They are designed to lift your hips and support a cross-legged position.
Ideal Uses Ideal for those who prefer sitting in a lotus or half-lotus position, Zafu cushions provide the necessary height and support.
Zabuton Cushions
Design and Features A Zabuton is a rectangular cushion that goes under the Zafu or can be used on its own. It provides cushioning for your knees and ankles.
Ideal Uses Perfect for those who need extra padding under their legs and knees, the Zabuton cushion is often used in conjunction with a Zafu.
V-Shaped Cushions
Design and Features V-shaped cushions are designed to support your thighs and lift your hips. They provide more targeted support than traditional round cushions.
Ideal Uses These cushions are great for those who need additional hip support and prefer a kneeling position during meditation.
Bolster Cushions
Design and Features Bolster cushions are long and cylindrical, often used in yoga as well as meditation. They provide support for reclining poses.
Ideal Uses Ideal for those who incorporate yoga into their meditation practice or prefer reclining meditation positions.
Materials Used in Meditation Cushions
Organic Cotton Organic cotton is a popular choice for cushion covers due to its softness and breathability. It is also an eco-friendly option.
Buckwheat Hulls Buckwheat hulls conform to your body shape, providing firm and adjustable support. They are durable and long-lasting.
Kapok Kapok is a natural fiber that is lightweight and resilient. It offers a softer cushion compared to buckwheat hulls.
Foam Foam cushions provide consistent support and are often used in bolster cushions. They are less adjustable but offer good stability.
Choosing the Right Meditation Cushion for You
Assessing Your Needs Consider your meditation style, preferred sitting position, and any physical needs or limitations you may have.
Matching Cushion Type to Meditation Style Different meditation styles may benefit from different cushion types. For example, Zen meditation often uses Zafu and Zabuton sets, while Vipassana meditation might favor a simple Zafu.
Considering Allergies and Sensitivities Choose materials that you are not allergic to and that feel comfortable against your skin.
How to Use a Meditation Cushion
Proper Sitting Postures Sit on the edge of the cushion, allowing your pelvis to tilt forward and your spine to align naturally. Your knees should be lower than your hips.
Adjusting for Comfort Feel free to adjust the position of the cushion and your sitting posture to find what works best for you.
Maintenance and Care Regularly fluff your cushion to maintain its shape and wash the cover according to the manufacturerâs instructions to keep it clean and hygienic.
Top Brands and Products
Review of Popular Brands Several brands stand out for their quality and variety of meditation cushions, including Hugger Mugger, Gaiam, and Bean Products.
Best Products in the Market Some of the best-rated products include the Hugger Mugger Zafu Cushion, the Gaiam Zabuton, and the Bean Products Yoga Bolster.
DIY Meditation Cushions
Materials Needed You will need fabric, filling (like buckwheat hulls or kapok), and basic sewing supplies.
Step-by-Step Guide Cut the fabric to your desired size. Sew the sides, leaving an opening for the filling. Fill the cushion with your chosen material. Sew the opening shut. Enjoy your custom-made meditation cushion!
Conclusion Meditation cushions are more than just a comfort accessory; they are essential tools that can enhance your meditation practice by providing the necessary support and alignment. Whether you purchase one or make your own, finding the right cushion can make a significant difference in your meditation journey.

11 Eco-friendly Organic Dog Beds â Perfect ZZZs for Your Furry Baby
Organic dog beds? Isnât that a bit of a stretch? Does the material of the dogâs bed really matter that much? Isnât picking out a bed thatâs the right size and offers adequate cushioning enough? Yes, the idea of an all-natural dog bed can bring up questions like these in your mind. And I wonât fault you for wondering whether it is really a necessity or just another marketing ploy to get doting pet parents to invest in yet another product that may add no significant benefit to their poochâs well-being.
In fact, I had similar reservations, thatâs why I decided to delve deeper into the utility of an eco-friendly dog bed. Turns out, itâs not just another fad. Why is that? Letâs take a look at the benefits of organic dog beds to help you make an informed decision. And then, we will get to my selection of hand-picked non-toxic dog beds.
Benefits of Organic Dog Beds
When buying a bed for your pet, what aspects do you typically look at to make a selection? Dog bed construction? Dog bed upholstery? Sturdiness? Color? Cuteness? But do you think about the dog bed filling â the material on the inside? Well, itâs about time that you do because not all dog beds are created equal. Most are made of mass-produced, cheap materials that not only fall apart easily but may also contain harmful chemicals, such as
Lead
Arsenic
Bromine
Formaldehyde
Phthalates
These can be far more toxic to dogs than humans. A 2011 study showed that the concentration of chemical flame retardants is five to ten times higher in dogs than in humans. Another study established a link between various airway irritations and emissions from different mattresses. Â
The takeaway is, that your dog has a higher chance of absorbing chemicals from a bed and these chemicals can prove toxic to them, disrupting the balance of micro-organisms in their system responsible for healthy skin and immune system, among other things. Besides, an overzealous puppy, or even an adult dog, may chew up their bed, and end up ingesting these harmful materials.
Protection from these nasty effects of a poorly constructed bed is one of the leading organic dog bed benefits. When you choose dog bed filling of natural materials like cotton, wool, hemp, bamboo, kapok, buckwheat, cedar, eucalyptus, coconut fiber, or natural latex, you naturally eliminate the risk of exposure to toxins. Besides, a lot of these beds are designed to offer orthopedic support. Definitely a great choice for dogs with allergies as well as dogs with arthritis.
The outer material as well as inner fillings used in a lot of eco-friendly, sustainable dog beds are made of recycled plastic bottles, which means theyâre not just good for your pet but also the environment. And they are, typically, washable, making them easy to clean and maintain.
11 Eco-friendly Organic Dog Beds
A lot of wins for organic dog beds, Iâd say! Now, to the next likely question on your mind: how to choose one that suits your dogâs needs as well as yours? Take a look at the 11 hand-picked all-natural dog beds Iâve shortlisted, and Iâm sure youâll find one that fits your needs.

Eco-Friendly Mastery: Dive into Organic Filler Materials and Their Benefits
In todayâs fast-paced world, making eco-friendly choices stands out as a testament to our commitment to the planet. Among the many green decisions we can make, opting for organic filler materials emerges as a noteworthy trend. But what makes these materials so special? Not only do they help reduce our carbon footprint, but they also offer a host of other benefits, both to the user and the environment. As we explore this topic further, weâll delve deep into the specifics of organic filler materials, unpacking their advantages and making a case for why they should be on every eco-conscious personâs radar.
A Green Alternative: The Environmental Perks of Organic Filler Material
Reducing waste and minimizing our environmental impact is critical in our fight against climate change. Organic filler materials provide an excellent alternative to synthetic or non-biodegradable options. By nature, these fillers are sourced sustainably, ensuring that our precious resources arenât exhausted. Additionally, they decompose more quickly and naturally, reducing the burden on landfills. This means that by choosing these fillers, weâre not only benefiting the present but also ensuring a healthier planet for future generations.
User-Friendly and Effective: The Practical Benefits of Organic Filler Material
Beyond the environment, organic filler materials also bring a slew of benefits to the user. Theyâre often softer, more breathable, and can be just as durable, if not more so, than their non-organic counterparts. For instance, think about the cushioning in your furniture or the padding in your shoes. Organic options provide comfort without the synthetic feel, ensuring you get the best of both worlds â comfort and eco-friendliness. Moreover, they often come with natural resistance to pests, mold, and mildew, reducing the need for chemical treatments.
Cost-Effective in the Long Run: Economic Advantages of Organic Filler Material
While some may argue that organic materials can be pricier upfront, itâs crucial to look at the bigger picture. Given their durability and reduced need for replacements or maintenance, the long-term cost benefits become evident. Organic filler materials, in many cases, prove to be a smart investment, yielding returns in the form of longevity and reduced wear and tear. Furthermore, as the demand for sustainable products grows, economies of scale will likely make these organic options even more affordable in the future.
Empowering Local Economies Through Organic Filler Materials
One of the less discussed yet vital benefits of choosing organic materials is the impact on local economies. Many organic products are the result of diligent work by local farmers, artisans, and producers.
Take, for example, organic cotton or wool. These are often sourced from farms that adopt sustainable agricultural practices, ensuring soil health and reducing water consumption. When consumers choose products made from these materials, they directly support these farmers, ensuring they receive fair compensation for their efforts with CFI Carbon Products.
Similarly, think of smaller communities that produce unique organic fillers, such as kapok or buckwheat hulls. Buying products containing these materials boosts the economic health of these communities. The ripple effect of such decisions is vast. By helping local economies flourish, thereâs a decrease in urban migration, preservation of age-old crafts and traditions, and fostering of community pride.
Prioritizing Personal Health with Organic Filler Materials
When we talk about the products we use daily, thereâs an inherent trust we place in them. We trust them to be safe, to be non-harmful, and not adversely affect our health. Sadly, many synthetic materials betray that trust, with chemicals, toxins, and other harmful substances lingering in them.
Organic filler materials stand apart in this aspect. Given that they are naturally sourced and processed without harmful chemicals, they are inherently safer. For instance, consider an organic latex mattress. Not only is it biodegradable and sustainable, but it also ensures youâre not breathing in harmful fumes every night. The same goes for organic clothing, cushions, and other daily-use items.
Moreover, many organic materials come with natural hypoallergenic properties. This is a boon for those with allergies or sensitive skin, as it reduces the risk of reactions and ensures a comfortable user experience.
Building a Sustainable Future: The Global Impact of Organic Filler Materials
The global implications of choosing organic cannot be understated. As more and more people make the shift, industries will need to realign their priorities. This can lead to a significant decrease in pollution, better waste management strategies, and a more significant push towards sustainable sourcing and production methods.
Moreover, as organic materials become mainstream, research into enhancing their properties and discovering new sustainable materials will gain momentum. This means weâll have an even broader array of eco-friendly options to choose from in the future.
Conclusion
Our choices, as trivial as they might seem individually, collectively form a vast tapestry of global impact. In the context of organic filler materials, this impact is overwhelmingly positive. By opting for these, weâre not just making a statement. Weâre actively participating in building a world where sustainability isnât a buzzword but a way of life. From the local farmer who can send his kids to school thanks to fair prices, to the decrease in harmful emissions globally, every choice matters. Organic filler materials, with their plethora of benefits, remind us of the power we hold as consumers, and the responsibility we bear as inhabitants of this planet. Letâs champion the cause of sustainability, one organic choice at a time.

What is eco-friendly bedding?Â
These days, itâs tough to tell if weâre losing sleep over the rain forest still being on fire, that old, lumpy (certainly not eco-friendly) bedding from undergrad some of us are yet using; or some eco-conscious nightmare assortment of all three.Â
A good nightâs sleep might imply finding a solution for all of these unpleasant truths, as opposed to taking melatonin, passing out, and overlooking it. So say hello, or rather, good night to the variety of eco-friendly bedding (as in products that support conserving resources and/or prevent land pollution) prospects on the market, which are both easier on the environment and pleasant enough to rely on for a good nightâs rest.
Eco-friendly bedding is made with materials that boast advantages like moisture-wicking and antibacterial properties and are, commonly, effortless to recycle. Theyâre fashioned through procedures that use less water than traditional practices and donât need harsh chemicals like pesticides or bleach or cheap and hazardous additives like microplastics. These pollutants can end up in our sipping water and soil, ultimately infiltrating our bodies. When deeming the pollution that comes with nylons and polyesters, it seems like a helpful switch to make, but where to start?
Eco-Friendly BeddingÂ
There are specific certifications you should look for when selecting between the assortments of eco-friendly bedding options. Several Guidelines give their respective stamps of authorization on products, promising that they meet specific markers in order to be contemplated ethically sourced, organic, safe, and responsibly labeled. To accomplish this, fabrics go through rigid chemical testing, and firms are reviewed throughout the agriculture and manufacturing process.
Beyond that, several firms like Reward Own certify the sustainable sourcing of distinctive materials, like wood and cotton. Multiple firms practice eco-friendly production by selecting eco-friendly dyes, using less water, and decreasing waste through methods like the closed-loop system.Â
In a closed-loop production procedure, 99% of solvents, chemicals, and trash are recycled and utilized in the successive crop of blankets, sheets, and comforters, limiting the impact that manufacturing has on the environment.

Jeans are the most democratic and iconic garment in our wardrobe: each year, according to the UN, around 5 billion jeans are made. A fad that needs no explanation: they are comfortable, resistant and so agile that they have managed to evade all borders, slipping into the strict codes of the office or, judging by the latest catwalks, also of Haute Couture. But is sustainability among its benefits? The industry has spent years focused on its transformation, developing more efficient technologies and processes to take advantage of the properties of denim fabric and minimise the use of water and chemicals in its manufacture and finishing. Its big challenges.
«Among the main actions of the industry to avoid these impacts is the use of organic cotton. Many brands are even joining the wave of regenerative cotton and, of course, one type of materialâ, says Gema GĂłmez, director and founder of the Slow Fashion Next[1], a fashion and sustainability training platform, highlighting the weight that fabric has in its environmental footprint. Studies, such as the one prepared by the French Agency for the Environment and Energy Control (Ademe)[2], calculate that around 10,000 litres of water are used to obtain 1 jeans, of which close to 60% comes from the high water footprint of conventional cotton crops. «Here it is important to make a distinction: when we talk about sustainability it is not only about what we do, but how we do it. It is true that cotton is a thirsty fibre, but it is not the same if it is grown with irrigation, as it happens with other crops, if it is grown with rainwater, if it is mixed with other types of food crops, or if it is sold It is destined to financially support the farming communitiesâ [3], points out the expert.
Recycled fibres are also beginning to be the norm in its composition. As the environmentalist NĂșria Nubiola, founder of Infinit Denim[4], points out: "The good thing about denim is that it is a strong and durable material that works very well for recycling." This small Barcelona firm reinvents garments through upcycling and, with the remains of the redesign process, they create a new biodegradable thread. Committing to use this, they have managed to reduce carbon emissions by 70% and amortize the water footprint of the fabric. " We take advantage of the remains of that cut to make the shredded, but the resulting thread is not 100% denim," warns the expert who, through innovation projects, has studied its benefits together with cellulosic fibres such as kapok (from a tree whose large fruits contain soft, light and silky fibres that look like cotton), EcoVero[5] (a type of viscose made with sustainable wood from controlled sources) or hemp. The result is a resistant and versatile yarn that allows you to make both denim and knitted or knitted garments.
From water consumption to the age of air
Although much of the environmental impact of a garment depends on the choice of fabric, the industry has been working for some time to completely change the way jeans are manufactured with disruptive technologies and more efficient models, focused on reducing the consumption of water and chemical substances. Since its founding in 1994, the Valencian software company Jeanologia[6] has focused on inefficient finishing processes, developing a laser marking system that removes the indigo dye from jeans through evaporation. "It replaces the sandblasting technique, potassium permanganate spraying and other manual applications that are harmful to health and the environment," says its marketing director, Carmen Silla, such as pumice-stone washing, which jeopardises the durability of the tissue. She assures that with this technology they have managed to considerably reduce both their water footprint and operating costs. Designers can create a digital file with the desired styles, enter it into the system, and within seconds, the laser transfers it onto the garment. "We make sustainable production scalable, without losing the quality and appearance of the product, obtaining an authentic replica of vintage looks." In fact, they have more than 3,000 lasers installed around the world, 30% of the world's denim production.
From the Valencian company they usually joke that they inaugurated the era of air in the finishing of garments. The explanation can be found inside their famous washing machines, which use ozone instead of water. "Our G2 ozone technology, instead of carrying out a traditional wash with water, washes into the atmosphere. In other words, this technology takes the air from the atmosphere, extracts the oxygen and transforms it into ozone gas, which acts as an oxidant to age the garments naturallyâ. Silla assures that this method, together with E-Flow technology, has managed to reduce water by 80% and chemicals by 70%. "Until then, the traditional method of transporting chemicals to the garment was through water. However, E-Flow creates nano-air bubbles, a cloud of moisture that transports the chemicals into the textile material without any waste and with a minimal amount of water." Yet another example of how technological innovation can become a great ally of sustainability.
More sustainable dyes
In this search to eradicate the most polluting processes in the manufacture of our clothes, the other aspect in which great advances have been realised, has been in the garment dyeing process. As Gema GĂłmez explains, in the 70s the composition of denim underwent several changes. On the one hand, natural fibres were mixed with synthetic fibres such as elastane, which, although they improve their elasticity, also put the recycling of the garment to the test. On the other, "they went from natural indigo dye to synthetic, whose ingredients come from petroleum," says the expert, who is committed to the recovery of dyes of vegetable origin. This is the case of the American company Stony Greek Colours,[7] which works with local farms in the production of regenerative rotating crops of indigo, the plant from which the iconic blue of jeans is obtained; or the company Colorifix[8], which manufactures dyes from molasses, a by-product of sugar, with which they make the most of the exploitation of this crop.
Also the image of those blue water tanks is beginning to be a thing of the past. Contrary to the conventional method, which consists of immersing the threads in a series of chemical dyes that give it colour while preventing oxidation, the Valencian company Tejidos Royo[9] presented Dry Indigo dyeing technology in 2018. It is a foam formula, with a nitrogen cover that protects the colour, dyeing the yarn without using a drop of water in the process, reducing the amount of chemicals by 89%, energy consumption by 65% and, consequently, reducing wastewater to zero. Every year the company donates one million litres of drinking water to an NGO, the amount that it has managed to save with this innovative tool.
Counted washes
At this point, we only have to answer what we can do for our jeans. The firms appeal to take advantage of the properties of denim â it is an antibacterial fabric, quite resistant to stains and odours â and limit its washing to only when strictly necessary. "Not only does it help to preserve them, since each wash wears out the fabrics and dyes," says NĂșria Nubiola, from Infinit denim. «Studies have been carried out on the environmental footprint of jeans and, based on their useful life, which was around eight years, if you washed them every time you put them on, there was more impact on that consumption than on the production". We can reduce visits to the washing machine, airing them after use or cleaning only the stains with a brush and soap. Because sustainability is a shared duty and time is the most sustainable way to give our jeans a personal and unique finish.
Choosing more sustainable jeans
Focus on its composition. Choose jeans with natural fibres from certified organic crops or from recycling, in this way you will ensure that the fabrics have been developed in a more respectful way with the environment. Bet on circular designs. It is increasingly easy to find mono-material jeans on the market â the closer it is to 100%, the greater its recyclability â and circular designs, with minimal trimmings and fibre-friendly finishes, which make it easier to make the most of the fabric. Yes to timeless jeans. The chosen colour and the right fit are two important elements to take into account when looking for a piece that ends up being a good basic that will mock the passage of time in our wardrobe. Also allow time to give it that vintage and worn finish. Fix and reinvent. Thanks to its resistance, denim is upcycling's best friend: a way of turning old jeans into the most groundbreaking item in the wardrobe.

[4] Infinit Denim was born out of a need. An internal call to transform the fashion industry and to do it from its origin: the material. A team of women united to do what appears to be the most reasonable thing: to take advantage of the fibers and fabrics contained in the garments we have already worn to create them an ew. [5] EcoVero is the sustainable version of viscose. Conventional viscose is very harmful to the environment: the wood for the fibers is often planted as a monoculture (e.g. eucalyptus), which requires a lot of water. Many toxic chemicals are used in the processing. EcoVero is the most environmentally friendly viscose available. EcoVero is certified with the EU Ecolabel because it meets high environmental standards throughout its life cycle: from raw material extraction to production, distribution and waste disposal.

[7] Natural indigo has an established history in textiles and its traditional production methods went largely unchallenged until roughly 100 years ago with the introduction of unsafe synthetic dyes. Synthetic indigo, derived from harmful chemicals (like Benzene, Formaldehyde, and Cyanide), began replacing the natural dyes that had been in use for centuries. Until now, plant-based alternatives could not provide consistent performance to remain the primary market color solution.
