Kangana Ranaut has been granted Y-plus Category security by the Home Ministry ahead of her Mumbai visit on September 9, said officials. CRPF, the paramilitary force that also provides security to home minister Amit Shah, has been asked to take over Ranaut’s security Under the ‘Y-plus’ category, 10 to 11 armed commandoes will guard Ranaut in three shifts, with two or three Personnel Security Officers (PSOs) accompanying her round the clock and one security personnel deployed at her residence. The move came amid an escalating war of words between the actor and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut after her “Mumbai feeling like Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir” comment. She had also said that she feared Mumbai Police more than what she has dubbed as ‘movie mafia’. Ranaut’s comments about Mumbai and the city police had sparked political outbursts and controversy on Friday, with the parties in the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) slamming the actor. State home minister Anil Deshmukh had also said that Ranaut does not have any right to stay in Mumbai or Maharashtra. On Sunday, Kangana Ranaut posted a video on Twitter stating that she will come to Mumbai, despite receiving threats. “In a country where women are being tortured and raped every day, a parliamentarian using such language shows this society’s mentality. No one called Aamir Khan or Naseeruddin Shah ‘haramkhor’ when they said that they are scared of living in this country,” she said in her video. Kangana tells CM Uddhav his ‘ego will be crushed’; HC frowns upon BMC’s intention over demolition work

Amid high drama and media frenzy, Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut, who has been involved in a spat with Shiv Sena over her recent remarks comparing Mumbai with PoK, returned to the city even as the Bombay High Court stayed the demolition process initiated by the BMC for alleged illegal construction at the actor’s Pali Hill office. Upon her arrival from her hometown in Himachal Pradesh, Ranaut, who has been given Y-plus category security from the Centre, fired a fresh salvo at Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, saying his “ego will be destroyed” the way her Bandra home was demolished. “Uddhav Thackeray tujhe kya lagta hai? (what do you think?) My home was demolished today, your arrogance will crumble tomorrow. Thus is the wheel of time, it keeps changing,” she said in video message. Kangana Ranaut and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut have been involved in a war of words after the actress had earlier compared “Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK)” and said she “feared Mumbai Police more than the movie mafia”. Earlier in the day, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) team demolished “illegal alterations” at the actress’ bungalow at Pali Hill in Bandra with a bulldozer and excavators. However, the HC expressed displeasure and stayed the demolition process after Ranaut moved the court challenging the notice issued by the Mumbai civic body.
