always there for you
kang dae-ho (player 388) x fem!reader
🎐. summary: you already took part in the games with Gi-hun and survived that monstrosity. But even the strongest soldier has its weakness.
🎐. warnings: canon gore, squid game violence, no spoilers, swearing, fluff, female reader, no proofread. English isn’t my first language!
requests are open !!

You woke up in that shithole again.
You promised yourself to never ever put your foot back in there after the last time. You still didn’t know how you managed to survive last time.
In the game only Gi-hun and you were the only one left standing after an atrocious journey. Poor Sae-byeok, who at a certain point was injured, didn’t make it because killed by Sang-woo, who instead was found dead in the bathroom.
So the two of you were facing each other on the field of the last game, but neither of you decided to finish it, both voting to go home.
The prize money had been split between the two of you then everyone followed their path, but Gi-hun and you kept in touch.
He was obsessing with finding the recruiter and for the last two years he hired a group of men who would scour every inch of every subway line.
From the calls and video chats you both shared you undoubtedly noticed how his infinite search was draining him, both physically and mentally. He wasn’t taking care of himself properly.
Sometimes you went to his apartment and cooked something for him, hoping that some home cooked meal would have helped him a little, and even if he always vocalized his gratitude for your actions you knew that day by day he was losing himself completely.
An unhealthy obsession that was killing him slowly and painfully.
Luckily for him, you were there to help him grasp at that little sanity he had left.
“It must be annoying to look after someone like me”. He blurted these words once, a cigarette in one hand and a distant look on his face. He almost looked guilty and mad for disturbing you.
But he didn’t know that it was the least you could do. You couldn’t help him forget everything and live a happy and untraumatized life, but you could help by taking care of him.
He was the only one left for you, and you were for him.
And you cared so deeply for him that at a certain point you even decided to join his plan to finally find and confront the frontman.
The only difference was that it wasn’t in your plan to take part again in that murderous game. He knew that to obtain what he wanted he had to go deeper, but you weren’t ready.
Your eyes snapped wide open when you heard that familiar song. “God fucking dammit!” a few heads turned in your direction but you brushed them off.
The last thing you remembered was being in a fancy limo with Gi-hun and him talking with the frontman. Then black.
Now in that blue and white room again, on that nasty bed again that brought back so many memories but this time with different people, all too excited to win some cash.
When you looked down you notice that same outrageous outfit but a particular caught your eye.
003.
The same exact number.
Despite you scanned the room for that one familiar face you didn’t find him anywhere and that thought just made you paranoid.
It was impossible for him to not be where he exactly wanted to be? Maybe the frontman took him somewhere else? Where he could have been unable to fight back? Where he could have died without no one knowing?
That final realization hit you straight in the head and in an instant you stood up from your bed and tried to make your way through the other participants.
However, you had been stopped by a full body of guards walking in through the metallic door.
The square guard started with their usual speech, presenting the game and the rules, stressing every time his tone on how their rights and comforts were their main interest and always came first above everything else.
Merely bullshit.
You still hoped this was a fever dream or something like that.
But reality settled back in when you found yourself on that open field again and the colossal robot staring right back at you.
How you didn’t miss that place.
In the distance you spotted a slim figure running ahead the group, facing everybody.
It was Gi-hun.
“Gi-hun you son of a b—“
Alive.
Most of them managed to pass the game thanks to Gi-hun. 91 players were eliminated, 9.1 billions were now in the piggy bank.
And just that sum of money sent most of the players there out of their minds. And because of that the voting ended just as you expected.
By one vote the circle won and all of you were obliged to stay there and take part in another mortal game.
“These greedy people don’t even know what they got themselves into…” whispered through clenched teeth, your eyes thinned as you listlessly played with your food.
You reunited with Gi-hun and joined him and his best friend Jung-bae, now all seated on the stairs in a corner.
“I totally agree” a voice came from your right and when you lifted your gaze in front of you there was a broad man with half hair tied up and a gentle smile on his face.
His sudden appearance caught also the attention of the other two players, who simply stared up at him, distrust on Gi-hun’s face.
“I heard you during the first game! Everybody freeze!” The young man imitated your friend’s gestures with an excited spark in his eyes.
“And who are you?” Jung-bae asked while raising slowly from his seat, trying to flash him an intimating look and appear more manly.
He stared at him dumbfounded then regained his posture clearing his throat as a way to gain some kind of confidence.
His tone was a bit shaky but he tried to hide it in the best way possible “Kang Dae-ho. I was a former marine and I would like to join your team!” He beamed mainly, showing off his tattoo and then assuming a military position.
Jung-bae analyzed him closely and then not-so-casually rolled up his sleeve to show his own tattoo. Another former marine.
At that sight, Dae-ho stiffened his posture and saluted his fellow marine.
“I wasn’t expecting that…” you whispered to Gi-hun, who lowly snickered beside you.
However your words weren’t misheard by Jung-bae, who turned around towards you with an offended look on his face.
“And what do you mean by that?!” “Stop whining, you look like a big fussy baby…” you replied back nonchalantly and slowly massaging your temples.
Dae-ho stared at you silent, which was strange from him, and you took notice of that but did nothing about it.
He, on the other hand, thought he had not been caught red-handed, so he looked away clearing his throat, a light rosy veil framing his cheeks.
It was strange. He had always been an outgoing boy, a breath of fresh air, or so others had called him. A pure ball of energy and happiness, that's what he was.
A true golden retriever, ready to cheer up others and offer help when needed.
And now that he finally had a team he could trust he could help and feel useful so that they could all get out of that nightmare safely.
But when he looked at you, all the air in his lungs left him.
Sassy and witty, so confident and surely hot-tempered. What a woman.
Although he noticed the hard look on your face, your closed and reserved nature but not because of your personality, no, due to something else.
He sensed you had lived something traumatizing, just like him, but it was rude and vulnerable to show someone you just met minutes ago to show them said side of yourself.
He wouldn’t have done that either.
But he felt connected to you. He was attracted like a magnet and pulling away wasn’t an option for him.
Dae-ho wanted to be pulled, to be further attracted by you. Like a moth pulled by a flame.
He wasn’t scared to be burned but right now the lack of confidence was too pressing for him. He wanted to look his best for you and most importantly someone you could rely on. Even if it seemed you didn’t need one.
Although he noticed the way you deeply trusted Gi-hun and how unintentionally you counted on him. He was your anchor. Dae-ho didn't feel jealousy arose in him since he hyphotized you must have had a strong bond with him.
But he was craving that kind of affinity, to feel you so close even just spiritually, confessing him your dark past and your deepest fears. He wanted that. To be someone you could trust with all yourself.
And that opportunity came up. Unexpectedly.
The second game revealed itself to be not so intricate like many of you thought, but obviously with not a great team the minigames could have been a real pain.
Even if your team was already of five people, you decided to give up your place for a pregnant girl, probably your age, who desperately needed help and some kind of protection for her and her baby.
You couldn't have let her die in a place like that. For her and the baby's sake.
You were too good, you knew that, but fortunately you were also aware that a strange type of luck was by your side, due to you already surviving in a that place the last time you were there.
So you joined another team last minute. And you passed.
However, your team had been one of the first to play so when you succeeded you had to wait alone near your base for what felt like hours.
Groups of players were entering the dorms slowly filling the entire room, but there was still no sign of your group. Had Gi-hun and the others perhaps not made it? Gradually you heard the numbers of the players who had failed, but their numbers did not resonate within the cold walls of that glacial facility.
Maybe you were overreacting.
But you felt the tears blurring your vision and threatening to flow out.
You weren't ready to lose them. You knew to not create close relations in a place like this, but it was inevitable. It was the only way to push down an agonizing depression and an imminent madness.
Unoticed by you tears streaked your cheeks, creating deep furrows laden with repentance and sadness.
Dumbfounded you grazed your cheek with a trembling hand, your breath now harboured and often interrupted by soft sobs.
And then your ears made out the sound of the door opening for the last time.
You didn't want to look up, your heart wouldn't have withstood the blow. Soon after you heard his loud laugh.
Your head snapped up and tripping over yourself you managed to catch a glimpse of their figures, animated by fiery and excited spirits.
A breathy gasp left your lips and with tears still in your vision you jumped out from behind the beds and ran in their direction.
They still hadn't notice you but one by one Gi-hun and the others made out your approaching figure and swiftly got out of the way.
Dae-ho, although, hadn't spotted you and in a second he was engulfed into a bone-crushing hug, leaving him breathless.
Looking down he finally acknowledged your presence and warmth rushed to his cheeks when he saw your face buried into his chest and your devastated aspect.
A soft gaze possessed his features and warmheartedly he reciprocated the hug, gently cradling your head. You were still trembling and sobbing quietly so he gingerly shushed you by nestling your face into the crook of his neck.
You quieted down a bit, your sniffs and breath still hard and harboured, your grip strong on his shirt like you were scared he would disappear if you let go.
But he was there. Alive and safe.
"It's okay...I'm okay..." he reassured you calmly and reluctantly you backed up a little, meeting his tender eyes.
You shook your head, still not believing what you were seeing, “I’m sorry…I’m sorry” you repeated like a mantra and the poor guy in front of you didn’t understand.
“Why are you apologizing?” His tone was low and calm, one hand gently cupping your cheek and lovingly swiping away the tears, “you have done nothing…” you sniffed warily and nodded “I should have helped…somehow…I would have—“ you didn’t finish the phrase when another wave of tears and regret crushed your figure.
Dae-ho slightly chuckled and cupped your face tilting your head up to meet his warm gaze again. “Knowing you were safe and sound here gave me the strength to give my all…to come back…to you”.
You gazed at him agape, your mind blank and your heart tapping furiously against your chest. You felt warm and strangely…safe in his arms.
You didn’t know you could have felt such feelings into a place like this but it happened.
All thanks to him.
You leaned into his touch and closed your eyes, basking into his gentleness.
Your behavior didn’t go unnoticed by him whose heart immediately swelled at your action and a childish grin erupted into his face.
Without stopping cupping your face, he slowly and tentatively leaned in, half-lidded eyes observing your now calm expression.
You trusted him.
You found in him someone you could rely on.
Your foreheads connected and a shiver went down your spines at the contact.
“I’m here for you” he whispered lowly, his hot breath softly hitting your face “and you can count on me” he was there for you “remember that”.
He didn’t need to remind you.
You already knew that.
From the beginning.

Having a Small Talk with Kang Dae-Ho (HC)
kang dae-ho x fem!reader
a/n: I love making headcannons based off of him so much I might aswell started writing a whole fanfic, but unfortunately i'm not really good at that so take this instead!!
warning: just poor english, fluff, not proofread yet, MY OPINION so im sorry if it’s a little ooc for you

─── ⋆⋅☼⋅⋆ ───
• even though dae-ho has 4 older sisters, his communication skills with other women (other than his sisters) is very bad LIKE BAD BAD.
• he is aware of that and when getting into that kind of occasion, he would always be careful with his words so it doesn't come out as weird.
• so when dae-ho met you in the game for the first time... AWKWARD AS HELL. dae-ho would stutter his introduction so hard, you will be like "umm is this dude okay?". (how can he be okay when there's a pretty girl like you standing in front of him)
• after you both had your first introduction, you two didn't have many conversations after that, but it didn't last long bcz as time goes by, dae-ho would be the one who always opened up a small talks with you. He enjoyed talking to you so much bcz he thinks you’re the only one who doesn’t think he’s weird or annoying for talking too much out of nervousness, he of course had a soft spot for you since then.
• dae-ho's small talks can be either normal, OR it looks like he's trying so hard to get to know you where it can lead to awkward moments. I can see him straight up blurting something to you, like
"I didn't realize that your eye color is so pretty. Do you use contact lenses?"
(after the mingle game) "Hey... are you okay? Wait, no, of course you do- we don't. Sorry about that I was just checking on you!" *facepalms himself*
OR
"I- I had a pet hamster once when I was little" (I CAN SEE DAE-HO SAY SOMETHING LIKE BCZ HE LOVES TALKING TO YOU SO MUCH!!!)
• you thought it was cute and sweet, seeing dae-ho tried to get to know you by always making small talks even though sometimes he would get his words twisted and probably stutter too hard he starts walking away in embarrassment, but it don't matter to you bcz he's trying his best!!!
• the moment you're the one who starts the conversation or small talks is the moment he will die BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY HOW HE REACTS WHEN YOU DO THAT. dude's like, "Omg.. is this a dream?"
• when you're the one who starts the conversation, you can see dae-ho gets flustered. he didn't know what to say to you and he's kinda lost in his own confusion, so you had to snap him back to reality, "dae-ho, are you listening? did I say something wrong?"
dae-ho's finally stopped daydreaming, "oh no no no, I was just thinking about something else." while doing the 'no no' both hand motion (idk what's it called). and started blushing like crazyyyyy
and in that very exact moment you two become very close ˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗

Sleepless Nights Aided by You.
Summary: It's hard to sleep when surrounded by the threat of death. But Dae-ho makes it bearable, even if only a little.
Pairing: Kang Dae-ho x F!Reader
Word Count: 1,529
A/N: LOL, hey guys, I did not think I'd be posting this but I've been obsessed with Squid Game and specifically Dae-ho. I thought I'd break my own writing haitus to give you guys this little fluff piece. I'll post a little update about the status of my Tumblr soon, but for now, enjoy this :P
(Also, to everyone who sent me a message after my update post, thank you <3 Know that I did see them and read them and I appreciate all of you!)
It's been nights of this and the sleeping never gets easier.
You'd have thought that despite everything, the exhaustion would override the racing thoughts. Surely, forced to participate in gruelling and sometimes physically challenging games with the constant threat of death weighing over you and being underfed that the sleep would come naturally.
But you've always been a lousy sleeper; before all this, before the games, you'd spend nights staring up at the ceiling of your worn down, small apartment stuck in your thoughts. Even as a little girl with the carelessness and naivety that came with being young, sleep wasn't something that came easy to you.
So, really, you shouldn't be surprised that in that suffocating and prison-like room, you wouldn't be able to sleep now either. It was beyond just the games itself - with each passing day, it became abundantly clear that there were more people you couldn't trust than those you could.
The blue 'X' patch on your sweater was enough of a reason to make you a target to some. Being a woman was another. The large piggy bank that carried the sum of those already dead was of course probably the biggest reason. Among the many other things you'd come to learn about the people you'd been trapped with.
You were lucky enough to have found yourself a group of people that took you in and it wasn't that you necessarily didn't trust him. Befriending a previous winner of the games had been something you'd been unsure of before, but Gi-hun had really only shown the best intentions of trying to help as many people survive as he could.
It wasn't just him. Seeing a group of men so willingly take in a pregnant woman and doing the utmost to protect her had been enough of a reason for you to trust them.
Everything else that had ocurred was beyond what you could've imagined in a place like this. In the midst of the games and the constant disappointment of voting, they'd made you realize that there was still reason to fight and most importantly, smile when you could.
(And most of all, a certain someone had made all of this just that bit more bearable.)
You did trust them. Gi-hun's plan to set up a barrier around where you all slept was smart and having people take turns watching had proven to only be further effective.
It still didn't mean that it made it any easier to sleep.
Letting out a huff, you rub at your eyes, frustrated with your inability to even sleep for a little bit. You were getting to your wits-end with exhaustion and it was certainly going to start impacting how you performed in the games. Being sloppy and tired wouldn't just mean losing, it would mean death.
You roll over to your side, facing towards your group and the direction that allowed you to see who was keeping watch currently.
When you saw the familiar numbers of '388', your decision was made.
Figuring that tossing and turning in bed wasn't doing you any good regardless, you crawled out of bed. Careful of Jun-hee who was beside you and tip-toeing your way around Young-il, you step in behind Dae-ho. Alert as he is, he jumps faintly at the sound of you, easing the second he realizes it's just you.
His lips curve into a soft smile but the confusion is plain in his eyes as you take a seat next to him.
"Are you okay?" He asks, voice soft so as not to wake up the others.
You nod with a tired smile. "Yes," you assure with a light bow. "I couldn't sleep. I saw it was you keeping watch so I thought I'd come and keep you company."
Dae-ho's face falls with understanding. "Oh," he mumbles, "I heard you tossing and turning."
Flushing faintly, you bite your lip. You hadn't realized you'd been so obvious in your struggle. "I'm sorry if it was distracting... Hopefully I didn't wake anyone up." You glance back the sleeping bodies of your friends, frowning.
"No, no," Dae-ho shakes his head, waving his hands at you. "I was more worried. It doesn't seem like you've been sleeping well since we got here."
Blinking, you turn to him. You didn't realize he'd been paying attention enough to notice. But really, you shouldn't be surprised - over the course of the games, Dae-ho had proven time and time again that he was at the very least paying attention. From reassuring you with jokes and smiles to encouraging you during the games, it was clear Dae-ho cared enough to pay attention.
"A little," you admit with a small shrug. "I know I should sleep but I can't get rid of this... nervous feeling. It's something about this place. I never feel safe."
Shoulders falling, you glance down at your lap, fiddling with your fingers. It was impossible to deny how terrified you were. It wasn't hard to see everyone was terrified, but you couldn't shake the constant nagging weight on your shoulders that every breath might be your last.
It was driving you crazy.
A hand falls on your shoulder, soft and gentle, and you turn to Dae-ho in surprise.
"I won't let anything happen to you."
It's such a simple thing, really. The words themselves hold little weight, but the way Dae-ho looks at you tells you he really means it. There's a determined glint to his eyes and though his face remains warm, the usual goofy smile he keeps on for the sake of trying to stay positive is replaced with certainty.
In a place like this, you didn't make a promise like that without meaning it.
Not to mention, over the few short days you've gotten to know Dae-ho, you know he isn't the type of person to lie about something like this. The concern on his face is genuine and it warms your heart in a way you thought impossible in a place like this.
The you who had thought it foolish to trust people at the beginning was long gone and you could no longer ignore the way something like that coming from Dae-ho made you feel.
"Thank you," you whisper, biting your lip as you look up at him. As he lets his face ease into a warm smile, you shake your head. "I have no idea how you do it, Dae-ho."
Raising a brow, he pauses; "hm?"
"Stay so positive," you explain. "I feel like I'm falling apart at the seams but you still seem so strong. I know you're scared, how could you not be... But you don't let it bring you down."
This time it's his turn to be shocked. Lips parting, he meets your eyes. "I am scared," he admits, nodding. "But I want to be strong... for-for everyone. For... you."
You're struck once again by his words, finding his words endearing and heart-warming all the same. You trusted all your friends, but it was foolish to say that Dae-ho wasn't the one you'd felt most safe around. From the first moment you'd met him, he'd made sure to help you survive. From simple encouragement to physically making sure no one bothered you.
It's why you chose to sit with him when you saw he was keeping watch. You find yourself naturally gravitating towards his presence and warmth and maybe it's selfish, but he doesn't seem to mind you relying on him all that much.
Swallowing thickly, you shift closer to him, moving so you're pressed against his side. His face shifts at the action, surprised, cheeks warming lightly as he moves to make space for you. The arm that had been pressed against his side moves to rest behind you, tucking you into his side.
"I do feel safe with you," you assure, nodding at him. "You make it easier to be here, even if only a little. When I'm with you... I feel like I can breathe."
A moment of silence passes, the two of you enamoured with one another before Dae-ho speaks up. "You... You can sleep here; if-if you want. I have watch until morning, I won't go anywhere."
Meeting his eyes, you notice then the way your eyelids have grown heavy. You'd been exhuasted before but in that moment it does feel as if you'd actually be able to close your eyes and fall asleep.
The nagging feeling eating away at your chest with the overwhelming threat of death wasn't gone, but it had... subdued since sitting with Dae-ho.
"You don't mind?" You ask him.
He shakes his head. "Of course not."
"Okay," you agree, turning so you're facing forward. With only the briefest moment of hesitancy, you let your head fall against his shoulder, leaning into him and letting some of your weight fall onto him. Dae-ho's arm moves to wrap around your waist instead of resting behind you, helping keeping you supported.
"Wake me if you get uncomfortable," you whisper, already feeling the sleep set in.
Dae-ho nods, but you both know he'd never do that. Not if it meant you could get some rest and stay by his side.

mrs. marine's trouble. | kang dae-ho (player 388)
REQUESTED by: @ang3licbabydolly = "plssss dae-ho x f!reader smut !! 😇"
wc: 2.6k
warnings: SMUTTTT.
i really don't know what to say. this is the first ever smut i've written, i hope i did it justice. longer than what i expected it to be.
NOT proof-read!!!
the distant hum of strained whispers and restless shuffling filled the dorm, a constant reminder of the stakes you were all under. amid the sea of desperation, your eyes found kang dae-ho—player 388.
he sat with his back against a bunk post, his broad shoulders relaxed yet alert, like he was still on duty. his jawline was sharp, his expression unreadable, and his body language exuded confidence—until your gaze lingered too long.
he noticed. his composure faltered for the briefest moment, his dark eyes flicking to yours before darting away, a faint flush creeping up his neck.
you stood, curiosity and something deeper urging you toward him. “dae-ho,” you said as you stopped in front of him.
he glanced up, his lips quirking into a polite smile. “you shouldn’t sneak up on a marine,” he teased, his voice low and smooth.
“wasn’t sneaking,” you replied, matching his tone as you crouched to his level. “you just weren’t paying attention.”
his chuckle was soft, a little strained. “maybe you’re too distracting,” he said, surprising both himself and you.
you raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at your lips. “is that so?”
he cleared his throat, visibly pulling himself back into his composed shell. “what do you need?”
“maybe i just wanted to sit here with you,” you said, tilting your head. “you mind?”
his hesitation was subtle but there. “suit yourself,” he murmured, scooting slightly to give you space beside him.
you settled in, the heat of his body radiating close. “you always so serious?” you teased gently, glancing at his sharp profile.
“it’s the marine in me,” he said with a faint smile. “serious is second nature.”
“and the blushing?” you asked, leaning in just a little.
his eyes snapped to yours, his cheeks darkening. “i don’t blush,” he said, a bit too quickly.
you grinned. “sure, you don’t.”
he huffed a soft laugh, shaking his head, and you could see his armor slipping. this wasn’t the marine talking now—this was just dae-ho, a man trying to keep himself together in impossible circumstances.
“you’re trouble, you know that?” he said, glancing sideways at you.
“i’ve been told,” you said, letting your shoulder bump his lightly.
he stiffened at the contact but didn’t pull away. emboldened, you let your hand rest on his thigh, a casual yet deliberate move.
his breath hitched. “you’re—”
“trouble,” you finished for him, leaning in just enough that your lips brushed his ear as you spoke.
his jaw tightened, and his hand reflexively covered yours, trapping it against his thigh. his grip was firm, warm, and the callouses on his palm sent a shiver through you.
“you think this is a good idea?” he asked, his voice lower now, tinged with a nervous edge.
“i think,” you said, turning your face so your lips hovered near his, “that you want this as much as i do.”
his dark eyes locked with yours, searching your face as though testing your resolve. his confidence as a marine battled with his shyness in this unfamiliar kind of vulnerability.
then, he closed the distance.
the kiss was slow at first, tentative, his lips warm and firm against yours. but when you sighed into it, his hesitation melted. his free hand slid to your waist, pulling you closer with a controlled strength that made your pulse race.
“you’re gonna get me in trouble,” he murmured against your lips, though his grip on you only tightened.
“you’re already in trouble,” you whispered back, threading your fingers through his short, dark hair.
he chuckled, a soft, breathy sound that sent warmth pooling in your pussy. his shyness lingered in the way he paused between kisses, as though still wrapping his head around the situation, but his touches were confident, deliberate.
his hand starts trailing from your waist to my ass, squeezing it as you let out a soft moan. as much as you are enjoying this, you needed more privacy. your voyuerism kink was begging you to let him fuck you right there and then, but something held you back.
"w-we should go to the bathroom." you whisper to him. without another word, he gets up, dragging you by the hand to the door where a guard stood.
"we need to use the bathroom." dae-ho told the guard.
"it's late, get back to your bunks. use it in the morning." the guard informed us.
"i swear to God, if you don't let us use the bathrooms right now! i'm a woman for fucks sake, how fucking dare you! my rights as a woman are being absolutely ignored, it's a medical emergen-"
the guard hastily opened the door towards the bathroom, not saying another word. "...thank you... yea thank you, as you should, gosh!" you finished, as you quickly got in front of dae-ho and dragged him into the women's bathroom.
as soon as we got inside, you turned around and smashed your lips onto him. he quickly pushed you into an empty stall and closed the door behind you. he pinned you against the wall and began to kiss you back just as eagerly as you were. his hands started to roam over your body as his kisses started to move to your neck.
as he kissed your neck, he started to bite and nibble at your skin, as hands wandered all over your body, wanting to touch every part of you. he grabbed your ass and gave it a hard squeeze as he pressed himself up against you. you could feel him pressing against you and you let out a whine, while you could hear him let out a stifled moan into your neck. his hands moved to your waist, wanting to tug at your shirt and slide his hands under to touch your skin and those tits that he has been day-dreaming about.
his hands roamed everywhere, from your back to your ass, to your stomach, caressing every inch of you. he started to tug at the bottom of your shirt, wanting it off. you helped him, slipping off your unzipped jacket and shirt, and tossing it aside. he started to kiss his way down your body, kissing and biting your skin as he went.
as dae-ho's lips trailed down your body, his calloused hands explored every curve with a mic of reverence and hunger. he paused at your bra, fingers hesitating at the clasp. "may i?" he whispered, his voice husky with desire.
you nodded, breath catching as he deftly unhooked your bra, letting it fall to the ground. his eyes darkened as he took in the sight of your bare breasts, nipples hardening under his intense gaze. "fuck," he breathed, "you're so gorgeous."
without warning, he dipped his head, taking one nipple into his mouth. his tongue swirled around the sensitive bud, teeth grazing lightly as his hand kneaded your other breast. you arched into him, a soft moan escaping your lips.
his free hand slid down your stomach, fingers dipping beneath the waistband of your pants. he paused, looking up at you with a question in his eyes. "is this okay?"
"fuck, yes," you gasped, hips bucking slightly against his hand. He smirked, a flash of confidence breaking through his usual stoic but timid demeanor.
dae-ho's fingers slipped beneath your waistband, teasing along your lower abdomen. his touch was electric, sending shivers through your body as he slowly, torturously, inched lower. "fuck, you're so wet," he growled, his fingers finally reaching your slick folds. he ran a finger along your slit, gathering your arousal before circling your clit. you gasped, hips jerking at the sensation.
dae-ho's mouth returned to your breast, tongue laving over your nipple as his fingers worked between your legs. he slipped one finger inside you, then another, curling them to hit that spot that made you see stars. "ah, fuck, d-dae-ho," you moaned, clutching at his shoulders. "please, i need more."
he lifted his head, dark eyes meeting yours. "tell me what you want," he said, voice low and husky. "i want to hear you say it, princess"
you swallowed hard, arousal and anticipation making you bold. "i want your cock," you breathed. "i want you to fuck me until i can't remember my own name."
a groan rumbled in his chest. "fuck, you can't just say things like that," his dick was throbbing at this point. "you don't care that guard is outside the door, you want this, don't you? you're such a little slut for me. want me to fuck your brains out? i'll give you what you want."
without warning, he spun you around, pressing your chest against the cold tile wall. his hands roamed your body, caressing your curves before settling on your hips. you could feel the heat of his body against your back, his breath hot on your neck. "you want my cock?" he growled, grinding his erection against your ass, "then you're gonna get it, baby."
his fingers hooked into the waistband of your pants, tugging them down along with your underwear in one swift motion. the cool air hit your exposed skin, making you shiver. dae-ho's hand slid between your legs, fingers teasing your slick folds. "fuck, you're so wet for me," he groaned, slipping two fingers inside you. he pumped them slowly, curling them to hit that spot that made your knees weak. "you like that, don't you? like feeling my fingers inside your tight little pussy?"
you moaned in response, pushing back against his hand. "please, dae-ho," you whimpered. "i need more." he chuckled, a low, throaty sound that sent shivers down your spine. "patience, baby. i'm gonna make you feel so good."
dae-ho's fingers continued their torturous rhythm, pumping into you at a steady pace. his thumb found your clit, circling the sensitive nub, adding another layer of sensation, making you moan and whine so loud. "fuck, you're so responsive," he breathed, nibbling at your earlobe. "i love hearing the sounds you make."
he scissored his fingers, stretching you as he prepared you for his cock. you could feel it, hard and hot against your ass, twitching with each noise you made. "you have no idea how long i've wanted this," he groaned, fingers twisting inside you. "to have you, all to myself. to make you mine."
the thought of belonging to dae-ho, of being claimed by him, sent a fresh wave of arousal through you. you rocked back against his hand, seeking more friction. "please," you whimpered, "i need you. stop teasing me."
dae-ho needed no further encouragement. he withdrew his fingers, making you whine at the loss, but quickly turned you back around and replaced his fingers with the blunt head of his cock. he rubbed it up and down your slit, coating it in your arousal before positioning it at your entrance. "ready, baby?" he asked, voice tight with restraint. at your nod, he pushed inside, filling you in one smooth thrust.
you cried out at the sensation, your back arching off the wall. he felt so big, stretching you deliciously as he buried himself to the hilt. "fuck, you're tight,"he groaned, giving you a moment to adjust. you clenched around him instinctively, earning a low curse. "fuckk, i'm gonna make you feel so good. gonna fuck this sweet little pussy till you forget everything but my name. i want you screaming my name with that pretty voice you have"
dae-ho set a punishing pace, his hips snapping against yours as he pounded into your tight heat. you were lost in the pleasure, every thrust sending you closer to the edge. "fuck, dae-ho," you moaned, clenching around him."you feel so good."
he groaned, the sound low and guttural. "i need you closer," he grunted, slowing his thrusts. "wrap your legs around me, baby. wanna feel all of you." he pulled out, turning you around to face him. his eyes were dark with lust, pupils blown wide. "jump," he ordered, lifting you easily. you obligied, wrapping your legs around his waist as he held you up effortlessly against the wall.
and then he was moving again, thrusting up into you with abandon.
the change in position allowed dae-ho to go deeper, hitting that spot inside you with every snap of his hips. "ahh fuck, yes!" you cried, fingers digging into his shoulders.
he captured your mouth in a searing kiss, tongue delving between your lips as he continued to pound into you. you met him thrust for thrust, your bodies moving in perfect sync. the pleasure built, coiling tighter and tighter in your core. you could feel your climax approaching, your walls starting to flutter around his cock. "fuck, i'm close," you whimpered against his mouth.
"that's it, baby," dae-ho encouraged, his voice strained. "let go. wanna feel you cum on my cock." dae-ho's words sent you over the edge. your orgasm crashed over you, wave after wave of ecstasy coursing through your body. you cried out his name, clinging to him as you trembled and convulsed around his still-thrusting cock. "fuck yes, just like that," he grunted, burying his face in your neck as he chased his own release.
he thrust erratically, losing his rhythm as he neared the brink. with a final, powerful snap of his hips, he came hard, spilling deep inside you with a hoarse shout. you could feel each pulse of his cock, the sensation sending after-shocks through your sensitive body.
he held you close, still buried inside you, as you both struggled to catch your breath. kisses were peppered along your jawline, your neck, your shoulder... gentle, almost reverent, in the aftermath of your passion.
eventually, he lifted his head, gazing at you with a mix of satisfaction and lingering desire. his softening cock slipped out of you, and he slowly lowered your shaky legs to the ground, keeping a firm grip on your waist to steady you.
"are you alright?" he asked, smoothing your damp hair back from your face. "did i hurt you?"
you shook your head, unable to suppress a blissful smile. "no," you murmured. "that was...incredible."
he huffed a soft laugh, pressing his forehead to yours. "you're incredible," he corrected, voice rough with emotion. "i've never felt anything like that before. "he kissed you then, slow and deep, putting all his feelings into the embrace. when he finally pulled away, you could see the vulnerability in his eyes, the tender look that graced the ex-marine's features.
"what happens now?"
you smiled softly, running your fingers through his sweat-dampened hair. "now?"you murmured. "now we get cleaned up, and go back to the bunks before someone misses us and comes looking."
dae-ho chuckled, nodding in agreement. "as much as i'd love to stay here with you all night, you're right." he pressed one more lingering kiss to your lips before reaching for your discarded clothes, handing them to you one by one. once you were both dressed, he tugged you close, resting his chin on top of your head.
"wanna sleep with me tonight?"
dae-ho studied you for a long moment before nodding slowly, a small but genuine smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "okay," he agreed softly. "i'd like that."
hand in hand, you snuck back to the dorm, slipping quietly into dae-ho's bunk just as the others were settling down for the night. you huddled together under the thin blanket, your bodies close but your touches chaste. this night had been intense, but for now, all you wanted was to be near him.
"good night, mr. marine."
"good night, mrs. marine's trouble."
as you drifted off to sleep in his arms, you couldn't help but smile. you weren't sure what tomorrow would bring, or where this new development would take you. but for now, you were happy. happy, and safe, and exactly where you were meant to be.
but how quickly could this all change?

Sweet Mornings
Kang Dae-ho x Gn!Reader
I did try to keep the reader gender neutral, but if you spot anything that's not GN please tell me so that I can fix it!
Summary: Dae-ho never fails to notice the beauty in something he has seen hundreds of times.
Warnings: No squid game, no debt, just bliss and mostly fluff, but watch out for a tiny explicit portion at the end.
Dae-ho is the kind of partner who calls you beautiful no matter how you look. To him, your appearance doesn’t matter—what truly matters is that he sees your beauty in every shape, outfit, style, and moment. Due to his inability to see you as anything but perfect, Dae-ho is considered unreliable to ask if something you're wearing looks good on you.
Every time he wakes up in your apartment, he can get drunk off the sheets that carry your perfume. The lingering body heat under the soft covers, even if one of you started the day early, lulls him back to sleep. Despite regaining consciousness just moments ago, his eyelids always feel heavier when left alone in bed. The sleeping spell can only be broken if his quiet mornings are interrupted—say, by you trying to put your clothes on in the dark, waking him up for a hot breakfast, or reminding him to lock the door when you leave for work.
His favorite, however, has to be when the blinds aren’t pulled all the way, leaving a long vertical gap for sunlight to peek through. On those mornings, he’s wide awake, feeling like a child too excited to sleep before a long-awaited school trip. And can he really be blamed? Can he be judged for staying awake to witness the domesticity of waking up by your side and watching you slowly come to your senses with the help of an alarm?
He can’t help but feel desperate when you sit upright in bed, yawning and stretching before getting up, half-naked, to put on your clothes. Your fingers firmly grasp the waistband of your trousers as you slide your legs in—completely oblivious to the view you've given him. Or perhaps you do it on purpose, just to tease him afterward (He patiently awaits the day you're bold enough to do it).
In any case, he thinks of himself as better than your average man who might gawk at a strangers bum, since it is your body and movements that always leave Dae-ho mesmerized, you, his one and only.
Sometimes, he can't help but smirk and bite down on his bottom lip, all to just to stop himself from jumping on you and taking you to a certain town, which both of you visit often.
He loves every part of you. The long and soft, the battered and sensitive ones.
It was on one of those golden mornings when Dae-ho's mind came to a conclusion.
No matter how often he gets to see you, it will never be enough. His eyes trace every movement, memorizing the curve of your body, the way the morning light kisses your skin, giving it a shine like no other, the sleepy sway of your hips as you stretch. It’s almost unfair—how effortlessly you captivate him, how easily you turn an ordinary morning into something intoxicating.
And if the way his dick pulses every morning at the sight of your ass isn’t proof enough, then maybe it’s the way his breath catches when you bend over to grab your shirt. Or the way his fingers twitch with the urge to pull you back into bed, to make you forget whatever plans you had for the day and softly caress you to your most vulnerable of places.
Because no matter how many times he gets to have you, watch you, wake up next to you—it will never, ever be enough.
He’ll wake up even when he’s old and wrinkled, watching you sleep beside him, and he’ll always be grateful for the chance to witness the same beauty he’s admired his entire life. Hundreds, if not thousands, of times, he’s seen you like this—peaceful, serene, effortlessly captivating. And yet, not once has he failed to notice. Not once has he taken it for granted.

Treat You Better (and any girl like you deserves a gentleman)
A/N: Helooooo!! This is the highly requested part 2 of the Treat You Better series. I’m really happy with the attention the first part got and I hope that you guys enjoy this part. There will be a part 3 and 4. The other parts will both be posted within the next two weeks.
warnings: Swearing, mentions of pregnancy, slight description of physical abuse
dividers by: @dollywons
You watched as players after players either passed or got eliminated.
You weren’t a spiteful person, and you would never wish harm on anyone, but your ex-boyfriend however. How you wished the bullet tore straight through his skin.
But unfortunately, He, that damned player 100, and three other assholes passed. However, it was satisfying to watch his team yell at him for messing up on spinning top.
Dae-ho held you close to him. He kept one hand holding yours, and the other tracing a comforting circle on your back.
Your team already discussed what games you would be playing. Player 456, whose name you learned is Gi-hun, would be playing Jegi. While Player 001 would play spinning top and 390 had flying stone. Dae-ho had Gonggi and you were left with Ddakji.
You weren’t confident. When you played Ddakji against the businessman in the subway, you didn’t win once. Your ex forced you to play against the man and watched in amusement as you were slapped around. The game only stopped when the man’s started to sting from slapping you too much.
Soon, it was your team’s turn to play in the pentathlon. It was just you and your guys and one other team.
The guards chained your feet together and linked arms with player 390. Gi-hun said a few encouraging words to try and get everyone’s spirits in check. The gun goes off and announces the start of the race. In unison, you all chant “One, Two.”
You first approach the Ddakji play area. The guard handed you the red Ddakji and set the blue one on the floor. You take a quick look at your teammates, all silently encouraging you to shoot your best shot. You mostly focused on Dae-ho and his smile. You look back at the blue Ddakji.
Imagining it was the face of your ex-boyfriend. You raise your arm and scream in rage.
“You fucker! No more ruining my life!”
You slam it down and watch as the Ddakji flips. You look at the circle guard and see the affirming circle made by his arms.
The team cheers and marches forward. “Nice one, 389!” 390 pats you on the shoulder.
You passed, you didn’t disappoint your team. Most importantly, you moved past your ex.
___________________________________________
Another vote commenced. And the X team lost terribly. You were forced to play another game, but this time, Dae-ho was with you.
You sat next to him, trying to enjoy the crap food you were given. After you finished yours, you still felt so hungry and so sick at the same time.
“Dae-ho, I’ll be right back. I have to use the restroom.” You whispered to him.
“Want me to come with you?” He sat up and thumbed over your knuckles.
“No, no. It’s fine.” You smiled and headed to the door. You walked to the bathroom and headed into a stall. The sickness took over and you threw up whatever you had been eating for the past few days. A knock on your stall causes you to jump.
“It’s just me, an old crow.” The person chuckled and slowly opened the stall. It was Player 149. She kneeled and rubbed your back.
“Oh, honey. It’s alright.” She patted your head.
“If the games don’t kill you, the food will.” You joked.
“The sickness isn’t caused by the food, dear.” Player 149 held your cheek in her hand.
“I have years of experience with helping those who are pregnant. Judging by your walk and your sudden sickness. You’re about 5 to 6 weeks.”
“No…that’s not…”
“Yes, my dear. You’re indeed pregnant.”
You thought back. You and your ex were last “intimate” just about a little over a month ago. But you had him wear protection since you ran out of pills.
“No…fuck. Why him?” You broke down in the old woman’s arms. Clinging to her as you cried in frustration.
You managed to leave behind your ex, but now you’re forever bound to him, by the child growing in your stomach, the product of yours and his “love.”
___________________________________________
You told the rest of the group about your discovery. They still accept you wholeheartedly, if anything they become more protective over you.
Dae-ho especially.
Soon, lights out came around and you woke up to someone tapping you. It was Dae-ho.
“Hey. Whatever the next game is, I’ll protect you no matter what.” He smiled as he sat on the edge of your bunk. He had undid his little ponytail, allowing some hair to fall across his forehead. You sat up and brushed the hair back, you wanted to get a clear look at his beautiful face.
“Thank you Dae-ho. For recusing me in Red light, Green light. For accepting me into your group. For showing me all men aren’t shit.”
He chuckled. Cupping your face and resting his forehead against yours.
“I promise, I’ll get you and your baby out of here. Then maybe, you, the baby, and I can have a life together.” He whispered, placing a soft, feathery kiss on your forehead.
You tear up, nodding as you embrace him. Face into his chest.
“Deal.” You whispered back.
You held this man so close to your heart, you will never be letting him go.
___________________________________________
“Two.” The automated voice called out. Dae-ho keeps you tucked under his arm as you run to a bright yellow room. He ushers you in and you turn back to grab into Dae-ho, back suddenly the door slams shut and now you’re trapped with your ex.
“Fucking bitch, think you can get away from me? I’ll fucking show you.”
He grabbed you by your hair, dragging you down. You screamed and your hands instantly went to your stomach, protecting your growing baby from any incoming attacks.
The door flew open and another body slammed into your ex. Grabbing each other both figures, trying to throw each other out.
Until at the last second, someone got tossed out and the door slammed and locked shut.
You lock eyes with the victor.
You can’t believe it.

After note: hehe I really like this series!! Lemme know if you wanna be added to the taglist!!

SUMMARY. 𝜗𝜚 your husband has been missing for almost two months now, yearning for him is making you relive some of your best memories.
CW. 𝜗𝜚 mentions of od’ing, fluff & angst (whose page are you in??? ofc it’s angst 👅) bold = flashbacks
A/N. 𝜗𝜚 umm i know absolutely nothing!!!about south korea or their schools, so this is purely based off of american schools bc my latina ass is not cultured on this, if yall wanna correct me or help me in some stuff, pls do! just know i’m writing this for fun tho <3
the voice of your teacher announcing a new student catches your attention, a boy with slightly longer hair stands beside her, holding onto his backpack. “this is kang dae-ho, he is transferring from seoul, and as your new classmate, you shall treat him with respect.” your eyes analyze dae-ho, he’s cute, you think. you glance over to your friend and she raises her eyebrow in a flirty manner, you smile.
“find a seat, dear.” there were plenty of seats available, but the seat beside you was the one he was eyeing the most, and you did not mind at all if he sat next to you.
the two of you make eye contact and you watch his eyebrows raise slightly, he quickly makes his way to the seat beside you. you give him a soft smile and he returns it, a soft hint of redness grows on his face.
“of course.” your friend playfully rolls her eyes and you chuckle before the teacher begins the class.
once the class finished, you head to your lockers to put away your books, in the distance you see dae-ho and your friend speaks. “you should go and talk to him, maybe we can go to the bakery after school.” you look at her and nod.
“that’s a good idea.” you walk away from your locker, your hand holding your other over your legs as you make your way toward him. dae-ho turns and his heart begins to race as if your beauty leaves him speechless, or you coming up to him caught him off guard. “dae-ho, was it?” he nods. “nice to meet you, I’m y/n.”
he smiles widely. “cute name for a cute girl.” you smile, his confidence taking you aback for a slight moment.
“thank you.” you feel your face heat up, but you brush it off. “my friend and i were wondering if you’d like to join us at the bakery right across the street after school? we usually go there for some lunch, since the lunch here is not too good.” you make a disgusted noise and scrunch your nose, he laughs and you smile.
“I’d like that,” he says and you smile.
“great. see you there. what’s your next class?” you ask him, and he tells you that it’s math, you exclaim when you look at his schedule and realize you have every single class together.
after classes finish, the three of you do as you agreed and head to the bakery. you get to know a lot about dae-ho, and you find out you have much more in common than you ever thought. he’s energetic and kind, and you admire that.
“so, do you have any plans after graduation?” you ask him, breaking the silence your friend left you both in after her mother came to pick her up.
he hums, taking his time thinking what to say. “joining the marines is a good idea.” you raise an eyebrow. “but, apart from that—i’d love to marry a pretty girl, maybe start a family with her, maybe move back to the city, or move to costa rica, i’ve seen pictures and i think it’s the most beautiful place i’ve ever seen.” you can’t help but smile at his plans, they’re quite nice. “and you?” he asks you your question.
“i want to become a veterinarian. i love animals so much, i’ve rescued some! dogs and cats!”
“what do you do after? do you keep them?” he questions.
“oh no no! i’m allergic to cats, i just send them to a shelter or put them up for adoption. when animals stay in shelters too long they sometimes kill them, and i hate that. i wish i could keep every animal i rescue, but ive only kept two dogs, two german shepherds.”
dae-ho laughs. “remind me not to mess with you, then.” you laugh at his joke.
“yeah, don’t.” you suck on your bottom lip and look at him. “but, apart from becoming a veterinarian, I’d also like to marry a handsome guy, and maybe start a family, although, I’m alright with dogs—how many kids do you want?”
“i want 4.” your breath hitches, and you grimace, you’re acting as if you’re gonna be the mother, but, you couldn’t help it.
“your poor wife.” you place your lips into a thin line. you two share a short laugh and continue to get to know each other.
you and dae-ho grew fond of each other in only 3 months, he was even walking you to your house, no matter the fact that his house was nearly 20 minutes from yours.
one night, you and dae-ho stand in your front steps, before you say goodbye, he grabs your hand and caresses it softly. “y/n.” he begins, he has all of your attention. “why don’t we… take a break from the bakery and go to an actual restaurant…maybe tomorrow?” he pauses between his words, thinking thoroughly about what he’s saying. when he sees your expression soften, he knows it’s going great.
“i’d love to.” you smile widely and place a hand on his cheek gently. the two of you share a sweet moment, he said he’ll text you the details, and you dismiss him with a kiss on the cheek and the blood rushing to his cheek makes your heart flutter.
one date led to another, and then another, after that, another one, until it became a weekly thing. when the two of you graduated, he quickly went off to the marines, and you were proud of him for that, he could do what he wished for, but you were terrified at the same time, terrified that one day he might not come home, and the thought of that destroyed you.
him coming back home permanently meant everything to you, you thought that maybe you could start a family now, you were at a fine age, you were married and financially stable, your job was paying you very well, and so was, dae-ho’s, but now that he’s back—forever now, that might change—and, it did.
you turn sideways on your bed, your hand brushes the cold spot next to you, it’s empty, you don’t like that feeling at all, it makes you feel empty. you remember the moments when dae-ho kept you warm, the times after intimate moments when you would just lay in his chest, staring into his eyes, or simply when you would fall asleep in each other’s arms.
you check the time, and it’s 2:34 am, you sigh and stare at your ceiling, and you start to feel tears pooling in your eyes. you stand from your bed and head over to the closet. there, you take one of dae-ho’s jackets and hug it, as if he was wearing it as if you were hugging him. his scent made your heart ache, this was the closest you’d been to him in almost two months.
you sob your heart out as you slide down the wall, softly murmuring his name like a prayer, hoping he’ll hear you.
your finger softly curls dae-ho’s hair, and the two of you admire each other in the spotlight, his hand on your hip and yours on his shoulder, sharing the prom king and queen dance.
“prom king, huh?” you raise an eyebrow.
“no thanks to you, prom queen.” he chuckles and you roll your eyes.
“what’s a king without his queen?” dae-ho raises his eyebrows and nods. “this is so embarrassing, i hope they’re not looking—or looking at you.” you chuckle.
“no, trust me. they’re looking at you.” your eyes light up, and your face gets hot, but you don’t know if it’s because of embarrassment or his compliment. “you look unbelievable tonight, y/n. i can’t imagine you on our wedding day.” he says, your mouth opens and your heart flutters, god, you cannot wait to marry him, he’s all you’ve ever wished for, you don’t care that he’s your first love, you think he’s the love of your life—you know he is, and that’s what matters, not what people think.
“i love you.” your confession catches him off guard, he’s said it before, but you never said it back, only ‘me too’ but the words ‘I love you’ have never come out of your mouth, and even though you’ve been wanting to say it ever since the moment you laid eyes on him, something has been stopping you, but you knew it was about time.
“i love you more,” he says back, and you smile widely. you embrace each other, but continue your dance until it concludes.
shortly after graduation, the two of you decided that after dae-ho serves his time in the marines, you’d get married—and so you did. your wedding was beautiful, it was intimate, with only two or three family members from dae-ho’s side, for obvious reasons, and almost your whole family tree.
your family loved dae-ho as if he was their own, and that made you feel very grateful, dae-ho had a rough childhood, and seeing him get the love he never had growing up was better than anything you could ever ask for.
the day of your marriage was truly the happiest day you’ve ever been, and let’s not even talk about the night. from then on, you appreciated every single moment with dae-ho, you always have, but you’re treasuring them even more now. the two of you began to travel, you started with costa rica, of course, and so on—you went to some places such as japan, tennessee, bali, dominican republic, and all of europe, you’d hope that between this year and next, you can finish traveling the caribbean because dae-ho loves the caribbean and the beaches.
you had planned for the bahamas on your next trip, but this is around the time when your husband was struggling, and when he turned up missing.
dae-ho has been missing for almost two months, he just vanished into thin air, he didn’t leave you a note, or a text message, he just… left. and you missed him dearly, you thought these months as an eternity, and you couldn’t take it anymore.
the orange bottle of full pills was tempting you—you wanted to end this pain, you wanted to end it now. he could end it, if he would just show up on the doorstep, just him, you don’t even want flowers or a gift, you just need him, or the other reason to end it is to just not keep living.
why would you need to keep living? the reason you are hasn’t been here with you these days—you have no reason to keep living, so why not just finish it?
your brother found you, he took you in his arms, sobbing and calling out your name. the bright hospital light was bothering you, your vision was blurry and your heartbeat was steady, slower than usual, but it was still beating, and that was the important thing.
the cold, dry air of the hospital made you feel sicker as if you were actually dead. you had your eyes closed when you felt a familiar, warm touch in your hand. you try your best to open your eyes, but your vision is still blurry.
“dae-ho?” you croak, a drop of wetness rolling down your cheek in pain. you hear no answer, so you don’t know if you’re hallucinating, or dreaming, but you cry.
you had thought that maybe—maybe he’d been back, oh, god you wish he’d been back, just so that you could spend the time you have left with him—but one thing is for sure, and it’s that you’ll soon be seeing him, whether that would be in the flesh, or the after life, is still to be decided.
❛ i wish i could live without you
but you’re a part of me. ❜

Library Cupid 📚💘 - Part 4, Final Chapter
Genre: College!AU, Library!AU, Fluff
Pairing: Kang Ha Neul x You (Female!Reader)
Warnings: None
Part 1, 2, 3, 4 | Words: 3,494
At first, Ha Neul had been excited when he'd arrived at the front desk and seen a copy of Among Others lying there. That was the book you were reading!
But then he'd checked the book in and saw that it was the exact book you were reading -- or had been reading.
You'd returned it. Without seeing or speaking to him.
And when he lifted up the front cover, there was no familiar pink sticky note, no message in your familiar handwriting.
This had to mean you'd hated the book, right? He had to admit, he was surprised by that.
But still. It was odd that you hadn't even waited for him or sought him out to say 'hello' and maybe (hopefully) ask for another recommendation.
It was so odd, in fact, that the rest of his day felt off-kilter.
He'd been so looking forward to seeing you again, not to mention hearing your thoughts on the book and if you agreed that the main character reminded you of yourself.
If you had agreed, or if you'd at least liked the book, then he would've taken that as a sign to try and get closer to you. He wanted to be your friend, and it felt like the natural time to attempt to deepen your relationship.
Okay, if he was being completely honest, he wanted to be more than your friend. But, if reading had taught him anything, it was that the friends-to-lovers trope was always the most realistic!
But now that you'd left your book without staying for your usual conversation, he would have to scrap his original plan and think of what else he could do to show his interest (besides the sticky notes he left in your books, that is).
For the rest of the evening, Ha Neul watched the door of the library, hoping you would walk in and apologize for missing him earlier -- not that you needed to apologize for anything, but you catch my drift.
You didn't, though. No matter how hard he visualized you walking through the door, you didn't.
So, when he went home for the night, he started to come up with a few alternate plans depending on what happened the next day.
Unfortunately, what happened the next day was... nothing.
You didn't return to the library the next day or the day after that. Ha Neul assured himself that you were most likely busy with your classes! It was actually completely normal for someone to not visit the library two days in a row.
But then two days became three... four... five... a week...
After two weeks of nothing -- two full weeks without seeing you -- Ha Neul was beginning to lose hope. Maybe he should've lost hope already?
As he clocked in for his shift, he made the decision to try one last time. He would ask the head Librarian to keep an eye out for you (he would think of a purely professional reason, of course), and if you didn't come in today... then he would give up. He would try to move on and hope that one day he would find someone else who made him feel the way you had.
A dejected sigh escaped his lips as he slipped through the door of the employee break room, and he sluggishly reached out to start pushing a book cart of returns that needed shelving.
Of course, the first section of books on the top shelf of the cart were mysteries.
He really wasn't looking forward to going into that section, especially since a new shipment of novels had arrived just a few days ago.
All those new books, and you didn't even know!
Ha Neul had just begun to wonder what you were reading now if you weren't reading any of the new mystery novels when he turned down the first of the mystery aisles and almost ran into --
You!
He almost gasped with delight at the sight of you, but he managed to rein it in just in time.
"Y/N," he said instead, beaming over at you. "You're here!"
You had jumped a little when he'd appeared in the aisle, but you were now smiling back at him -- though your smile was a bit strained and awkward.
"Hi," you replied, your voice small and quiet.
"I haven't seen you in a while," Ha Neul continued, deciding to ignore the anxious atmosphere. "I hope everything's okay?"
"Yes, it's fine," you replied, clutching the book you'd been holding to your chest.
"I really wanted to know what you thought about Among Others, but -- maybe it's been too long now."
"It was great. I really liked it."
...That was it?
Ha Neul had become accustomed to your glowing reviews and how you went into detail about what exactly made the book so good in your eyes.
So, for you to just say 'It was great. I really liked it'?
He had to admit, he was disappointed.
For two weeks now, he'd been imagining your reunion when you finally met up in the library again; everything about your interactions had led him to believe that you'd be as happy to see him as he was to see you. That you'd ramble on about the books you'd been reading or how your classes had been keeping you busy or -- or something!
"...Are you sure everything's okay?" he asked, unable to help himself from prying. "You seem --"
"How are you?" you interrupted.
"I -- I'm all right," Ha Neul answered, his disappointment slowly morphing into confusion. Why were you acting so strangely? "I'm just really glad to see you."
Your expression turned slightly more anxious at those words, but Ha Neul couldn't decide if it was a bad anxious or a good anxious.
On the chance it was a good anxious, he added, "I... I missed seeing you every day. I missed talking to you."
You bit the inside of your cheek for a few seconds before replying, your voice almost too soft to hear when you said, "I missed talking to you, too, I just --"
But you cut yourself off and didn't finish the sentence.
"You just what?" Ha Neul asked gently.
There's no way he could go about his day not knowing what you'd been about to say!
"I... I just --" you stammered, your gaze flitting around and avoiding him almost entirely. "I heard... you..."
Ha Neul's heart began to pound inside his chest. What on earth could you be talking about? You heard him... you heard him what?!
"I heard you... Anyway, it doesn't matter," you finished with an incredibly awkward chuckle.
Instinctively, Ha Neul stepped closer to you and reached out, resting a hand on your arm. "No, please tell me," he urged. "It matters to me."
Because it did. If he was the reason you'd stopped visiting the library, he might never forgive himself.
Finally, your eyes met his, wide and glassy with anxiety.
"I heard you talking to someone," you whispered. "They confessed their feelings to you and asked you out, and you accepted."
At first, Ha Neul had no earthly idea what you were talking about. His forehead wrinkled in deep confusion, and he opened his mouth to tell you just that -- "I have no earthly idea what you're talking about."
But then it hit him.
And, now that he remembered, it sure enough had been the same day he'd arrived at the front desk to see your copy of Among Others returned.
"Oh!" he laughed softly, unable to stop himself from smiling. "No, no, they weren't confessing to me. It was a rehearsal!"
And now it was your turn to wear your confusion on your face.
"Let me explain," Ha Neul offered. "You know about the whole Library Cupid thing, right?"
You nodded wordlessly.
"Right. It started out as just book recommendations, but one day, a girl wanted me to fake recommend a book to someone else because she had a crush on her, and that just kind of snowballed into me doing actual matchmaking things here and there while also recommending books, so what you heard was someone wanting to practice confessing and asking out the actual person they have a crush on. Not me! I haven't been on any dates, especially none in the last two weeks, and the only person I would want to ask me out is --"
He only realized that his story had turned to rambling when it was just too late.
"--Y-you."
Your head jerked back, startled by what you'd just heard.
By the expression on Ha Neul's face, he was just as startled as you were.
But then his features relaxed, a soft grin tugged at his lips, and he let his hand fall from your arm.
"...Me?" you managed to ask, wanting to make sure he'd said what you thought he'd said.
"You," he confirmed with a nod. "I've liked you pretty much since I saw you walk through the doors that first evening when you came to ask for more mystery books."
On one hand, you were relieved because -- not only was Ha Neul not dating someone else, but you'd also been correct in assuming that his sticky notes had been getting progressively more than friendly!
On the other hand, you were... shocked. And a little terrified.
But you were sure you'd get over that pretty quickly.
You weren't over it yet, though, so you inhaled deeply, steeling yourself and forcing these words to come out of your mouth: "When I brought Among Others back, I wanted to tell you how much it meant to me for you to say that the main character reminds you of me because you know how much I love books, and no one has ever said anything like that to me before, and I've really never had a close relationship to someone -- my own age, that is. I was always close with the librarians, but they were more like surrogate parents. Or maybe aunts and uncles... Anyway. It meant a lot -- it means a lot. And... I think... I like you, too."
Ha Neul had listened to you with his lips pulled into an unwavering grin, and that grin had only widened when you'd confessed your own feelings for him.
He then reached out and gently took one of your hands off the book you were still clutching to your chest. You offered no resistance, of course, feeling your heart fluttering as he grasped your fingers in his.
"Then... would you like to have dinner with me? Tonight? Or tomorrow or the next day or whenever you're free? Or lunch? Or breakfast?" he asked, and you found it incredibly endearing that he hadn't stopped smiling even to ask you out on a date.
"Dinner tonight would be... lovely," you replied breathlessly.
"And... will you tell me all about what you've been reading lately?" he asked.
You were fairly sure that one question made you fall just a little bit in love with him.
About One Year Later
It was late in the evening on Friday, and as always, you arrived at the library just five minutes before closing time.
As soon as you walked in, you saw that the front desk was unmanned -- nothing particularly out of the ordinary, though. Many times, Ha Neul would still be busy shelving returns or taping up older books the librarian hadn't yet replaced with newer versions.
You would simply wait for him here, as you typically did when he wasn't quite ready to clock out and leave.
But once you got close enough to the front desk, you noticed a sticky note had been placed right in the middle. You didn't immediately think it was meant for you since sticky notes were an incredibly common office supply, especially on a university campus.
But.
Sticky notes held somewhat of a special place in your relationship with Ha Neul.
Even after the two of you started dating, you'd left sticky notes for each other in the library books you checked out and then returned.
As your relationship had progressed during the following months, you'd started leaving sticky notes in each other's school notebooks since the two of you regularly studied together.
And the first time Ha Neul had slept over at your apartment, he'd left a sticky note on your alarm clock -- so, you'd left one for him on his front door the next time you'd gone over to his place.
So, yes, seeing a sticky note left on the front desk of the library did pique your interest.
And, lo and behold, when you arrived at the desk and quickly scanned the small, square piece of paper, you instantly recognized your boyfriend's handwriting.
A grin tugged at your lips when you read Go to the shelf that houses the very first book I recommended to you ♡
Okay, then! And so you would.
You delicately peeled the note off the desk and headed over toward the fantasy section.
When you turned the corner and entered the aisle, you didn't see another sticky note right away. So, you skimmed the shelves until you saw Legends & Lattes and slid it out of its place.
Unsurprisingly, when you opened the front cover, another sticky note greeted you.
It read Cozy nights in with you are one of my favorite things -- just like this cozy story is one of your favorites
That was true. You'd re-read this book a couple of times already.
But what about your favorite mystery?
Oh, this was exciting! Ha Neul had clearly set up a scavenger hunt for you, and you could only speculate what the treasure would be at the end.
Now, onto your favorite mystery novel. The answer was as easy as the first had been because your favorite mystery novel had been -- and likely always would be -- one of the books based on your all-time favorite television show. The 14th in the series, to be exact. Your copy at home was particularly well-loved, and Ha Neul had always been able to tell when your stress level had reached a peak because you'd be reading this exact book.
To the mystery section!
As you made your way over to what would forever be your comfort zone -- the mystery section of a library -- you couldn't stop yourself from grinning like a total idiot. But you really didn't care. The library was just about closed at this point, so there would be no one around to witness your foolishness.
Plus! Your boyfriend had put together a literary scavenger hunt for you! How could you not smile?!
The next sticky note read I know you love a good mystery, but it's no mystery why I love you. I won't embarrass you by waxing poetic, so your next stop is your favorite classic romance
Within a minute, you were pulling Pride & Prejudice off the shelf and reading another sticky note.
No one can write a love story quite like Jane, and no one can make me smile quite like you. Your final stop is the place where your texts and phone calls make me smile like an idiot when I'm at work but not working
Of course, reading that made you smile like an idiot -- though you hadn't actually stopped smiling this whole time.
You knew he was leading you to the employee break room, the only place in the building he was able to check his phone. This was partly because he was kept busy enough actually doing his job, but also because it had the best cell service.
Over the past year or so, you'd only been in there a scant handful of times just after the library's closing time. It was pretty much your typical employee break room, so it was intriguing that this adorable scavenger hunt would end there.
But as soon as you opened the door, you were met with a sight you hadn't at all been expecting.
The typical employee break room was no longer a typical employee break room. The table where Ha Neul usually ate dinner had been pushed over to one wall, there were a few strings of soft fairy lights glittering on the wall, and a very large pile of extremely cozy-looking pillows and blankets sat in the corner by the only window in the room.
But, of course, most importantly, Ha Neul was standing there looking adorably anxious with the goofiest smile curving his lips.
"What is all this?" you asked softly as you walked in, letting the door close behind you.
Ha Neul let out a somewhat shaky sigh, holding an arm out to invite you over to him -- and to the cozy corner he'd created.
"I know you've been stressed with exams and graduation," he began.
Before he could continue, you added, "So have you."
"Yes," Ha Neul chuckled. "We both have. I figured we could use some rest and relaxation and quality time."
When you reached him, you didn't hesitate in stepping close and sliding your arms around his neck.
"And you're so right," you murmured before leaning in to press a kiss to his lips. Then when you pulled away, you shifted your gaze to the pillow and blankets and lights and asked, "Did you do all of this yourself?"
You were fully expecting him to say 'yes' because Ha Neul was that kind of boyfriend -- that kind of person. He was extremely thoughtful and hard-working, but really, you could write an entire essay on the qualities that made him the best person you'd ever known.
"Oh, no," he admitted with a soft laugh. "You know that couple -- the first one that ever got together because of my barely existent matchmaking skills?"
"Yes," you grinned.
"They came into the library last week -- they're still together, by the way -- so I asked if they would help me pull this off. I mean, just the cozy decorating and whatnot. I did the clues myself," he assured you, looking all too proud of himself.
As he should be!
"That was the cutest scavenger hunt ever," you told him with a wide grin. "Thank you so much, I loved it."
"Ah, but that was just the beginning," he said, raising his eyebrows. He then stepped back and offered you his hand to lead you to the pile of pillows. "I got permission to stay here as late as we want so we can watch as many episodes as your heart desires."
"Episodes?" you asked. "What do you --"
It was only then you noticed a small projector on top of one of the side tables, pointing toward the opposite wall of the pillow pile.
"I've got it connected to my phone," Ha Neul explained. "And I borrowed your login so we can stream your show. Do you want to start over at the beginning, or is there a specific episode you'd like to watch?"
He plopped down onto the cushions then, and you quickly followed so you could cuddle up to him and pepper kisses all over his face.
"I love you, you know that, right?" you said as he pulled up your most-used streaming service on his phone. "I'm always scared I never tell you enough, but I really, really, really do love you."
"Hey, don't be scared about that," he assured you as he put an arm around your shoulders, pulling you even closer into his side. "You do tell me enough, but you don't even have to tell me."
"What do you mean?" you mumbled, your face now pressed against his neck.
"You show me every single day," he answered. "And even when you don't say 'I love you,' you say other things that mean 'I love you.' I'm really good at picking up the subtle things, y'know?"
You simply hummed lazily, already feeling relaxed -- but being in Ha Neul's arms did that to you.
"I've worked in a library for years now," he continued. "I've learned how to read between the lines."
At that, you let out a huff of laughter. "One of the many reasons I love you is your sense of humor," you chuckled.
Ha Neul simply pressed a kiss on the bridge of your nose before handing you his phone, wordlessly allowing you full control over which episode to start with.
Jokes aside, though, you truly were grateful that Ha Neul had worked in the library because in all honesty? You may not have met him otherwise.
When you'd fallen in love with reading all those years ago, you would've been able to guess that it would eventually lead you to your future career -- I mean, hello? Look at the type of book that had started your obsession! Anyone could've guessed you'd end up in the forensic science field.
But you certainly wouldn't have been able to guess that it would lead you to find love, especially not with someone as kind, caring, smart, funny -- as perfect as Ha Neul.
The Library Cupid himself!

Chapter 2: The Game Begins
Pairing: Kang Dae Ho x Fem!OC Kang Eun-ji
Warnings: Squid game level violence, reunion,Slow Burn,Angst,Graphic Violence,Death,Blood and Injury,Psychological Trauma,Guilt,Emotional Manipulation,Survival Horror,Mild Language.
The sound of metal scraping against metal echoed through the massive dormitory as the steel doors slammed shut. Hundreds of people, all dressed in identical green tracksuits, murmured anxiously. Some clutched their knees in fear, others whispered hurried alliances, but no one—no one—looked safe.
Kang Eun-ji pressed herself against the cold wall, forcing slow, even breaths. She had spent years working in a hospital, surrounded by death and chaos, but this was different. Here, she wasn’t the doctor. She wasn’t the one saving lives.
She was just another player.
And then—
"Eun-ji?"
Her stomach twisted at the sound of her name. It was deeper than she remembered, rougher. Hesitant.
She turned.
Kang Dae-ho stood across the crowded room, his dark eyes locked onto her like he had just seen a ghost. He looked older, leaner, his face sharper with lines of exhaustion carved into his features. His once-carefree expression was gone, replaced by something unreadable.
Her chest ached.
Years. It had been years since she last saw him. Since the day his father tore them apart, sending him to the marines like love was a mistake that could be beaten out of him. He left without a goodbye, without a promise to come back.
And now, here he was.
In this hell.
With her.
Eun-ji swallowed the lump in her throat. "Dae-ho."
Before either of them could say another word, a loud, robotic voice crackled through the speakers.
"Attention, players. The first game will begin shortly. Please follow the guards to the game arena."
The crowd murmured in confusion as the masked enforcers filed into the room, rifles slung across their shoulders like silent warnings.
Eun-ji felt her pulse quicken. She had no idea what was coming, but the air was thick with an instinctive, unspoken fear.
Dae-ho’s gaze lingered on her for just a second longer before he clenched his jaw and looked away.
Just like old times.
Just like he always did.
And somehow, even surrounded by hundreds of strangers, Eun-ji had never felt more alone.
The First Game: Red Light, Green Light
The field stretched out before them, bathed in the eerie golden glow of the setting sun. At the far end stood a giant, robotic doll, its lifeless eyes staring ahead.
"Red Light, Green Light."
The words sent a chill through Eun-ji’s spine. It sounded harmless. Childish. But nothing about this place felt safe.
She took a deep breath, her fingers twitching at her sides. The rules were simple: run when it said "Green Light," stop when it said "Red Light."
Then the first shot rang out.
A man, too eager to sprint forward, collapsed instantly. Blood pooled beneath him.
Screams.
Panic.
Chaos.
Eun-ji’s body went rigid, her mind struggling to process what she had just seen.
This wasn’t a game.
This was execution.
Someone shoved past her, desperate to run, but the gunfire didn’t stop. One by one, players fell.
"Freeze!"
The command was sharp, urgent.
Eun-ji’s head snapped toward the voice.
Seong Gi-hun.
She had recognized him before, but now his presence held a weight she hadn’t fully grasped. The only known survivor of the original Squid Game. The one who came back.
"If you move, you die!" he shouted, voice cutting through the chaos. "Don’t run! Don’t panic! Just listen!"
A ripple of hesitation spread through the remaining players. Some were already trembling mid-step, their bodies fighting the urge to flee.
Gi-hun took a breath, his voice steady despite the horror unfolding around them. "You need to move when it says ‘Green Light’ and stop immediately when it says ‘Red Light.’ That’s the only way to survive. Trust me."
Trust.
Eun-ji didn’t know if she could trust anyone in this place, but she knew one thing—he wasn’t lying.
She clenched her fists, forcing herself to stay rooted. Think. Stay calm. Panic would only get her killed.
"Eun-ji."
The voice was close. Familiar.
Dae-ho.
She turned to see him just a few feet away, his gaze sharp with determination. "You need to move when it says ‘Green Light.’ Don’t hesitate. Stay close to me."
Eun-ji stared at him. "Why do you care?"
Something flickered in his eyes—frustration, maybe even something softer—but there was no time to push him for an answer.
"Green Light."
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her forward.
Eun-ji ran.
Her heartbeat thundered in her ears as her feet pounded against the dirt. The bodies of fallen players blurred at the edges of her vision, but she refused to look.
"Red Light."
She skidded to a stop, breathing hard.
Dae-ho stood beside her, his grip still firm on her wrist, grounding her. "Don’t look at them," he murmured. "Just focus ahead."
Her hands trembled, but she nodded.
They moved in bursts, careful, precise. Each step felt like walking on a knife’s edge.
The finish line was close now.
"Green Light."
She sprinted, her legs burning, lungs screaming for air—
"Red Light."
Dae-ho yanked her back just as she nearly stumbled. His arm wrapped around her waist, steadying her.
Their faces were inches apart, his breath warm against her skin.
"Careful," he muttered.
She swallowed hard, her pulse hammering for reasons that had nothing to do with fear.
"Green Light."
The final stretch.
They ran.
And just as the doll’s head spun toward them—
They crossed the line.
Safe.
Eun-ji collapsed onto her knees, gasping. Around her, survivors sobbed in relief while others stood frozen in shock.
Dae-ho crouched beside her, his expression unreadable. "You okay?"
She let out a shaky laugh, something almost bitter. "I just watched people die, and I almost became one of them. What do you think?"
He exhaled, rubbing a hand over his face. "You’re alive."
"For now."
Dae-ho’s gaze darkened. "That’s all that matters."
Eun-ji didn’t respond.
Because she knew better than anyone—survival wasn’t just about staying alive.
It was about what you were willing to do to stay that way.
And looking at Dae-ho, at the man she once loved, she realized the worst part of this game wasn’t the dying.
It was the fact that, in the end, one of them might have to watch the other lose.

no me mires con esos ojos
kang dae ho (player 388) x fem!reader
🎐. summary: you didn't know that the opportunity offered to you by that strange man in the subway was going to be a dead game, but mostly you didn't know that even in a scaring place like this it was easy to catch some feelings.
🎐. warnings: doesn’t precisely follow season 2, maybe some spoilers, female reader, swearing, typical squid game gore & violence, minor character death, slight angst, slight suggestive (??), romance & fluff. English isn’t my first language!

Your sensibility and your kind heart led you to where you were right now. An unknown place with hundreds of unknown and untrustful people.
Your sick mother was the only one left to you and you weren't ready to give up on her too. You had to fight for her and to find money in order to pay for her treatment. Then how did you end up with a debt as huge as yours?
You had always been the most appreciated daughter among the other two siblings you had. Everytime someone asked your mother how did you treat her, she always replied with the most utter honesty. "She's so nice and always worried about me, even though she should go out and enjoy her youth".
Yeah. Your youth. You were only 22 years old and already with an immense debt on your shoulders. It wasn't fair. Life wasn't fair. You also wanted to go out with your friends, laugh with them, joke around and maybe experience love. But you couldn't. You had to drop out of college because of your mother’s illness and you were the only one to care enough about her.
Your other siblings just didn't care. They had followed their path and never looked back, not even when you and your mom needed the most. Now you were alone, working your ass off trying to repay your debt and still finding the adeguate cures for the illness.
Hoewever, your life took a different turn when you had met that strange salesman in that damn subway. You were waiting for train after a draining day at your job when this guy, probably not much older than you, dressed in a grey and seemed-rather-expensive suit approached you with his black silvercase.
"Ma'am, would you like to play a game with me?" That is what he said to you in a calm and polite tone. But why a game?
It's after a round at ddakiji, which was won by you, that you decided to stop there, just because you weren't a gambler and you didn't find entertainment in that.
You noticed how he wore, even if for a second, a surprised expression, but then immediately regained his confident facade. He simply smiled at you and handed you a business card with some strange simbols on a side and a phone number on the other.
That night when you returned home you found yourself sitting on the sofa, staring intently at the card. Which was the right thing to do? That man told you that by playing some games you would have been able to repay your debt and to help your sick parent. But what if it was a scam? You were in no position to fall for one, not with all the burden you were already carrying.
The flame of your lighter was extremely close to the card, ready to burn it, but you stopped yourself at the sound of your parent's coughing. Faint laments and sound of sheets came from the other room and that was the moment you realized for what you were fighting for.
And that's how you where there, in an unfamiliar room with not-so-trusting people and a negative vibe lingering in the air.
'Til that moment you had been on your own, away from the others players and not engaging in any conversation. Obviously you weren't the only one in that state, but you surely seemed to be the youngest there and that already worried you off.
When everybody gathered confused in the main space of the room a group of pink guards wearing a mask with some symbols entered the room and explained the rules of the game.
The prize money would have risen for every passed game. The total being 45.6 billion wons.
That statement flamed everybody’s spirit and the guards led everyobody out to play the first game.
You were escorted in a huge and long room that resembled a field and at the very end, facing the players, there was a strange doll. "The first game is Red Light, Green Light" a feminine voice explained through the speakers "You need to cross the field without being spotted moving by the doll. If you move or the time finishes you're eliminated".
The game appeared to be easy enough, it was one of those games the kids used to play during recess but your guts where telling you that something was off. It couldn't be this easy.
You closely analyzed the other players, observing how they all had printed on their face a confident expression. All except for one.
A middle aged man, probably in his fifties, but by the look on his face he looked older and so tired, like he went through hell. The hard look in his eyes was distant, lost in the space in front of him. Not so positive thoughts behind those eyes. He seems to know what was going on there, like what to expect from a place like this.
456. That was the number on his jacket. You memorized it, just in case.
Then the game started. Cautiously but quickly you stepped forward, keeping your sight focused on the robot girl. The others started moving too but then the childish girl’s song stopped and you all froze on the spot.
No one dared to move and all the field was enveloped by a sinister silence.
Just a second later, a girl a couple of steps ahead of you moved distressed because of a bee. “Oh shit, I moved!” she said in a laughing tone and then she was shot in her chest, falling on the ground. Blood started pooling around her.
It was at that moment that everything went down hill. Players at the sight of blood and of the dead corpse started screaming and running back, begging to leave.
You heard shots all around you, sending waves of fear in you.
Your vision was starting to blurry, the tears on the verge of escaping your eyes, your hands were trembling slightly and all your anxiety was pressing against your stomach.
You stood still but you were so close to break down.
Then all the shooting sounds stopped, the silence back.
It was broken by that irritating song, the robot girl turned back in her original position.
However, no one dared to move from their position. Only one man moved quickly, reaching the front of the group.
The song ended again and the giant girl turned back towards us. Her eyes scanning everybody.
“THE ROBOT’S EYES CAN DETECT YOUR MOVEMENTS! IF YOU MOVE YOU’RE OUT! He suddenly yelled, keeping his mouth covered. He was player 456. “IT CAN’T DETECT THE MOVEMENT BEHIND SOMETHING!” He continued, showing us his moving hand behind his back. Nothing happened to him, he was still alive.
“SO FORM A LINE BEHIND WHO’S TALLER THAN YOU AND CONTINUE WALKING!” And in an instant, everybody followed his orders, too eager to survive this nightmare.
I ended up behind a tall woman, the number 120 on her back. “From now on I’ll stay behind you” you whispered to her to make your presence known. She didn’t answer but she understood.
While slowly walking forward and keeping an eye on the timer, you managed to reach the safe zone. Only there shaky breath left your lips.
Those who survived were then escorted back to the dorm room and there you spotted the tall woman who gave you shield before.
“Excuse me…” she somehow heard your whispered words and focused her attention on you “I-I wanted to thank you for letting me stay behind you during the game” you thanked her while bowing your head as a sign of gratitude.
Her gentle hand softly patted your shoulder, a small smile on her face “There’s no need”. That was all she said before departing from you.
Only then the guards entered the room again and everybody started begging to go home after what they witnessed. The square-masked guard explained that the could sent us home since we signed the terms & conditions and agreed to stay there and take part in the games.
The situation definitely wasn’t in your favor when again player 456’s voice echoed through the whole room, silencing everyone. “Clause 3 says that we can leave the place only by voting and if the majority decides so. Let us vote.” His voice was firm and his eyes serious and cold, fixated on the guard on the front.
The square-masked guard slowly nodded. “You’re right and your comfort is our main priority. But first let me announce the total you’ve made after the first game.”
A giant piggy bank was lowered from the top center of the room, then filled only in part with money. Everyone was mesmerized at that sight. “Since 91 people were eliminated, you all have accumulated 9.1 billion won”.
Low whispers started rising among the others, not so sure to leave after they’d seen the sum of money. “Now let’s begin with the vote”.
The first to be called up to vote was player 456 who confidently pressed X and went to stand on that side of the room. Right after him there were you, since your number was right after his.
Without a doubt you also pressed X and went near the man, who smiled at you in gratitude. He said to have already played these games before and that it didn’t end well last time. Strangely you trusted him. But you also weren’t ready to die. Not like that.
Unfortunately the O prevailed, so it meant that you had to play another game.
After that moment you a ticked with player 456, who’s name you later discovered to be Seong Gi-hun, and he took you under his wing. He was so nice and acted so fatherly towards you.
Also player 390, who was Gi-hub’s best friend, and then player 001 joined your group.
You felt relieved to have found some allies in this crazy place, people to rely on and that had your back, just like you had theirs.
At 30 minutes before lights off you whispered to Gi-hun that you would have gone quickly to the bathroom. He flashed you a worried expression but you reassured him with a gentle smile.
You stood up and went near the small pink door in the room to ask someome's permission to dismiss yourself.
[ જ⁀➴ ]
It was only a matter of minutes before the lights were turned off for the night but somehow you weren’t too worried about that, maybe because you found some nice people who you could trust.
Despite not being too sure about it, you were fine with it.
After coming back from the bathroom you spotted player 120 by herself, her face concentrated and her brows furrowed in thoughts.
Quietly you approached her stiffed figure and then cleared your throat to make your presence known to her.
Her confused gaze spotted you and when she recognized you she flashed a small smile.
“Something bothering you?” She shook her head lightly, even if her gesture wasn’t so convincing “Just…this whole situation is…absurd. I would have never thought in my whole life to fight to survive in some stupid children games” you clearly caught the distress in her tone.
“I know I should be the last person to say this but you got this, you’re brave and after the stunt you pulled before in the game I think you can pass every other game” your sweet and caring words seemed to have calmed her down a bit, who smiled at you and briefly hugged your side.
What you didn’t notice, however, was a set of eyes observing you from the distance. Kang Dae-ho knew you were part of the team he latter joined but he hadn’t met you yet.
From observing you he thought you were really pretty and kind.
A small blush crept on his cheeks at his own thoughts.
Jung-bae immediately noticed this and nudged him with his shoulder, startling the young man. “Brother Jung-bae! You scared me! Never do that again!” The old former marine simply snickered at his words and then took the spot next to him on the stairs.
“I noticed that look on your face” he commented “and I also understood who you were looking at” his tone became a bit playful and poked slightly Dae-ho in his ribs.
The blush on Dae-ho’s cheeks became more prominent and he tried to hide it but failed miserably because Jung-bae snickered louder.
“J-just shut up, it’s not what you think!” The young man tried to say, pushing the older man’s face away while hiding his face with his other hand.
Jung-bae shook his head amused and then gently patted the guy on his shoulder.
“If you feel something, you should just tell her. You’ll never know when you’ll have the opportunity”.
It was at that moment that time stopped, every sound around him muffled and every figure blurred out, only her was in his view.
Her gracious and warm figure.
Then the lights turned off, only the golden light from the piggy bank and the symbols on the ground emanated some light.
He was still grounded in his spot, didn’t move an inch.
Only a soft tap on his shoulder awoke him dreaming state. Quickly he lifted his gaze and locked his eyes with yours. The girl from before.
You were looking at him with those enchanting and marvelous eyes, so bright and curious. He would have gladly lost himself in them.
‘Oh please don’t look at me with those eyes’
The ex marine’s heart was beating so hard that he was sure he could have had an heart attack. No saliva in his mouth, his tongue so mushy, surely not able to utter out a vowel.
But you were still standing in front of him, waiting for any type of reaction from the guy, simply poked at you like you had grown three heads.
Now worry was starting to creep in when he still didn’t show any responsive sign.
Concerned you crouched down to his level and gently placed your hands on his shoulder, facing him fully and devoting all your attention to him.
At the contact a delicious shiver went down his spine, making him sight out a shaky breath.
“Hey are you okay?” Your voice up close resembled angels’ chorus and for a moment he felt in heaven, cocooned in a warm embrace and protected from outside’s dangers.
And those eyes…they were making him go crazy. Those doe eyes looked up at him all prettily and anxiously, really worried about his well being. He couldn’t have asked for more.
If that was a dream, he didn’t want to wake up ever again.
“Please…don’t look at me with those eyes” unconsciously he breathed out those words in a loving and needy way that he himself woke up from his daydreaming state.
He slapped his hand on his mouth, wide eyes staring scared at the girl in front of him.
His face so red that he thought he would have gone on fire any seconds now.
He had made himself look like a fool in your eyes.
Shame and awkwardness lingered in the room. No one uttered out a words as you both only stared at each other, you taken back by his reaction and him ashamed of the stunt pulled previously.
You were opening your mouth to say something, anything to lighten up the situation, but in a second he run off to his bunk bed, not so far from yours.
An amused chuckle left your lips, a faint blush on your cheeks.
“What an interesting guy…”

I NEED MORE HUSBAND!KANG DAE-HO FICS LIKE I NEED AIR FOR MY LUNGS
the one thing that i always headcannon kang dae-ho to be is that he is sooo husband material. he is such a perfect husband for you (that's what at least he's trying to be, he wants only the best just for you and his future child *wink wink*)
he is the kind of person to always look out for you, always be there when you needed him, loves the idea to spend the rest of his life to be with you. growing with four sisters makes him easier to do all the house chores and also understands you more. for example, when you had your period, he knows EXACTLY the pads you use and what size, knows all the cravings that you usually get, and would always comfort you by hugging you when you had your period cramps because he is that warm (he's a big spoon)
(not to mention that he is sooo girl dad code)
UUGHHH I LOVE THIS MAN SO MUCH, we need to protect him at all cost!

‘What marks?’
Dae ho x fem!reader
Summary: you and Dae ho get intimate during lights out, and wake up to unwanted questions in the morning.
A/N: I’m grafting hard on these requests! Based on this and this ask. Feedback as always is appreciated :)
!MDNI!

“Oh fuck.”
You moan under your breath, trying not to make too much sound. After another horrifying day trying not to be killed, you were in need of a stress reliever. Luckily for you, the man pleasuring you was up for the job.
Dae ho lies beneath the sheets with his head between your thighs. His hands dig into your skin, as he pushes his tongue further into your cunt. You whine and grab a fistful of his hair, tugging harshly. He spreads your legs impossibly wider, eating you out like it was his last meal.
You reach your climax and hold in the scream you want to let out. You cover your mouth with one of your hands as tears fill your rolled back eyes. Dae ho moves from his position under the sheets and crawls up to come face to face with you.
“You okay?” He whispers, kissing your chest.
You nod, unable to form comprehensive sentences, as you move your hand away. He lifts his head and kisses you deeply, the slight taste of yourself lingering on his tongue. He trails his hot lips down to your neck, sucking and biting several times. He licks over the spots after a few minutes, moving back to admire his work.
You both lie back down, relishing in the silence and peace for however long it may last for.
- - -
The music blares from the speakers, waking everyone up from their slumber. You open your eyes and squint, dreading the day ahead and what it could hold for you. You look over to the bed next to you, seeing Dae ho slowly waking up. He must’ve moved out of your bed during the night, not wanting any awkward questions about your “activities”.
You slowly get up, your body aching. You make your way over to the group of players you’ve grown to trust over the past few days, Dae ho following close behind. He rest his hand on your back for a brief moment, and you can’t help but smile.
You greet everyone briefly as you sit down next to Hyun ju, wrapping your arms around your legs. The conversation between the group doesn’t interest you, as you zone out and stare off at nothing. You were still tired, and not ready for the next game. Dae ho waves in your peripheral, alerting you to look at him. His expression is clearly trying to convey a question. “You alright?” You halfheartedly give a thumbs up.
“Oh dear! What’s happened to your neck?” Geum ja asks you, shock and worry on her face as she points to the marks on your skin.
Your eyes widen as you look at Dae ho, his expression the same as yours. Were the marks that bad? You didn’t even think about trying to hide them.
“Uhh,” you stutter over your words.
“It must be these bed sheets!” Dae ho butts in, trying to save you from embarrassment. “I’ve seen other people itching their necks a lot, something to do with the fabric. That must be it.”
You nod along, laughing it off and hoping the conversation will carry on to something else. Unfortunately it doesn’t, as now everyone in your group is looking at you both with confusion.
Geum ja shakes her head. “No no, those aren’t from itching they’re bruises! Are you sure you’re okay?”
Dae ho and yourself both fumble over excuses, trying to play it down as to it being nothing and that it doesn’t deserve this level of attention. You look over to the younger players in your group, Hyun ju, Jun hee and Yong sik, smirking and trying not to laugh. It didn’t take much for any of them to figure out the cause of the marks on your neck. You roll your eyes, as you stand up.
“If you’ll excuse me I’m going to… sort these marks out in the bathroom.”
“You sure you don’t want Dae ho to go with you?” Yong sik asks, sending him as well as Hyun ju and Jun hee into a fit of giggles.
You glare at Dae ho, as he apologetically shrugs his shoulders, knowing he’s the one to blame for this. Stick to the waist down next time.

Smut Kang Dae-Ho/Player 388
NSFW: Smut/Sexual content, Sub Dae-HoxFem reader, Public Kinda?
————————————————
“f-fuck y/n” Dae-Ho whimpered attempting to not wake up other players around you. “Shhh be quiet baby people could hear you” you softly whispered as you quickened your pace on his dick.
It was lights out but neither you or Dae-Ho could sleep. So you got an idea while you both cuddled in the small bed covered by the light blanket. You knew he’d been wanting this since earlier but he was always too shy to ask thinking it was wrong.
He jolted at the pace signaling how close he was “You like that baby”? you asked him listening to his faint choppy breaths. “Y-yes” he whimpered a little too loud at your question.
“You need to be a little more quiet or do you want people to hear you be so whiny for me”? at your teasing question you felt his dick twitch and harden even more. “Oh you would”? you teased quickening your pace even more.
He only whimpered at your words feeling the knot in his stomach grow more. “Would you like it if people saw you moaning and whimpering my name begging to cum”? you teased him.
“S-stop” he whined embarrassed that you caught him. “What am I wrong”? you continued to mock him moving your finger to roll onto his tip with a slow pace.
He softly moaned at your action not responding to your question. You began to quicken the pace of your rolling finger causing him to grip your wrist. “Let go or I won’t let you cum” you demanded.
Quickly he let go allowing you to continue your movement on his dick. You go back to moving your hand up and down his dick faster than before. “You still haven’t answered my question” you whisper slowing your pace.
He whines at the feeling not wanting you to stop and too embarrassed to answer. You completely let go of his dick causing him to whimper “No please” you couldn’t see in the dark but you knew his eyes were teary begging for desperate release.
You wait a few seconds before suddenly gripping onto his dick starting your movements up again. “Answer me” you soft but harshly demand, he whimpers at your tone knowing he won’t cum unless he listens.
“N-no you’re not wr-wrong, fuck y/n pl-please” God he sounded so desperate and whiny under your control. “Good job baby” you whisper moving your finger back to his tip circling it faster.
His dick starts to twitch at the feeling, and he grips onto the mattress. He moans a little too loud but you don’t care anymore focused on your movements and his noises.
“You wanna cum”? you ask him knowing the answer. “Y-yes please, please” he answers breathlessly ready to cum into your hand. “Beg” you ordered him moving back to going up and down with your hand squeezing it just how he loved it.
He whimpered at your command embarrassed and turned on at the same time. “Pl-please please I need to cum” you go faster as you feel his dick start to twitch and his body starts to shake “more” you order. “ngh- fuck please please I need to cum y/n just for you please” at his desperate obedient words you finally allow him to let go “cum”.
His body jolts and shakes at your permission to cum “thank you thank you thank you y/n f-fuck” he repeats feeling the knot in his stomach snap. You keep going as him cum starts to drip down and you can feel it on your hands.
Once done you take out your cum covered hand and in the dark lean into his ear sucking his cum off your fingers. “You taste so good Dae-Ho” you whisper before licking his ear. You couldn’t see each other but you knew his cheeks were red.
