KANDURA
Kandura, also known as dishdasha or thobe, is a traditional garment worn by men in many Middle Eastern countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. The kandura is a long, loose-fitting robe made from lightweight fabric, usually cotton or polyester. It is designed to be comfortable and cool in the hot and dry climate of the region.
The kandura is an important part of the cultural heritage of the Middle East, and it has a long history dating back many centuries. In the past, the kandura was made of wool or other heavier fabrics and was worn as a protective garment by nomadic tribes. Today, the kandura has evolved into a more modern garment that is worn for both formal and casual occasions.
One of the most distinctive features of the kandura is its length, which usually reaches the ankles or the floor. The garment is designed to be loose-fitting and flowing, with long sleeves and a high collar that can be folded down. The collar is often embroidered or decorated with buttons or a tassel.
The kandura is typically worn with a headscarf, called the ghutra, which is held in place by a black cord called the agal. The ghutra and agal are used to protect the head and face from the sun and dust, and they are an important part of the traditional Arabic attire.
In the United Arab Emirates, the kandura is worn by both locals and expats, and it is considered a symbol of national identity. The kandura is often worn to formal occasions such as weddings and business meetings, but it is also worn for casual events like family gatherings and outings.
The kandura comes in many different colors and styles, from the classic white to more modern designs with patterns and embroidery. The traditional white kandura is still the most popular choice, and it is often worn with a red or white ghutra and black agal.
One of the benefits of the kandura is its versatility. It can be worn with sandals for a casual look, or with dress shoes for a more formal occasion. The loose-fitting design of the kandura also makes it comfortable and easy to move in, which is especially important in the hot and humid climate of the Middle East.
In conclusion, the kandura is an important part of the cultural heritage of the Middle East, and it has evolved into a modern garment that is worn for both formal and casual occasions. Its loose-fitting design and lightweight fabric make it comfortable and easy to wear, while its distinctive style makes it a symbol of national identity. Whether you're a local or a visitor, wearing a kandura is a great way to experience the rich culture and traditions of the Middle East.

Graduation Caps in UAE: Symbols of Achievements and Traditions
Graduation day is one event that many see as the pinnacle of most people's lives. It represents the culmination of many long years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. For Emirati students, it transcends a ceremony but a day to celebrate, reflect on, and look ahead to for the rest of their lives. However, Graduation caps in UAE  among the most recognizable elements of the graduation day is the graduation cap, which is otherwise referred to as the mortarboard. It has been steeped in symbolism and tradition that has stood the test of time.
Meaning of Graduation Caps
It represents success, unity, and academic achievement beyond just being a component of academic garb. The graduation cap has its flat, square shape with the addendum of a tassel that is different. The graduation cap use shows that the students have travelled one phase of life and are moving on to another as they leave their academies for careers or further study.
Tumblr media
Graduation caps are, in themselves, an essential element used around the world, and it is also the case with the UAE. Throughout the country, universities, colleges, and schools have largely adopted graduation dresses, usually a cap and gown, to celebrate the accolades of their students. From big universities to small educational institutions, the ceremony is always consistent, and graduates get a chance to celebrate in style.
In fact, the UAE is considered a culture melting pot in which graduation ceremonies reflect elements of divergent cultures across the country. In Graduation caps in UAE some ways, the cap and gown attire remain quite common, but with local features integrated into most of the institutions operating in the country. This often meant the "kandura" was worn by male students and the "abaya" by female ones to complement the graduation cap. It is, therefore, a cultural mixture of traditional academic attire with local wear that makes the event unique and personal.
The cap itself assumes importance. In the academic world, the cap has a significance for a student's intellectual journey. For many cultures-the UAE, being one of them-it is very important to have the tassel moved from one side to another during the graduation ceremony. It epitomizes the transition from candidate to graduate.
Selecting the Appropriate Graduation Cap in the UAE
For the students in the UAE, graduation caps have always been very important; therefore, they include this as one of the preparation activities as graduation day approaches. Most of them opt for this usually by either purchasing or renting from the local providers for the proper fit and look for that day. Whether it's a purchase or a rental, quality comes first. A graduation cap should be well-made for one to ensure a good fit. It snuggly fits on the head of a graduate during the graduation ceremony.
Based on Fit and Comfort, when settling on the right cap these considerations have to be included within the graduation ceremony, so the caps have to fit well and also hold in place.
Quality of Material: Graduation caps in UAE Caps should be made from quality material such that the cap is not only aesthetic but also feels comfortable on the person's head.
Personalization: Some students may personalize their caps by either embossing or using caps in different colors to symbolize your school or personal style.
Sustainability and Reusability
Sustainability is a really crucial consideration for most students of today. It is growing in the UAE so that by graduation, they have rented caps and gowns to reduce as much garbage as possible as well as maximize its reusability. It's typically cost-effective and ensures that caps and gowns can be used in successive generations so it is more green friendly.
On the other hand, there are organizations offering 'green' graduation caps that have been created from environmentally friendly materials. They Graduation caps in UAE produce caps that are reused or recyclable as a way of meeting the larger visions of sustainability and environmental conservation set by the UAE.
Conclusion
The graduation cap in UAE means so much more than the mere winning of a degree. It symbolizes taking pride in personal growth as well as culture in one of the most exciting journeys any student could possibly have. Students, attired in caps and gowns, give honor not only to their achievement but also to embrace the rich traditions embedded in the minds of generations of graduates. Whether Graduation caps in UAE customized or traditional, the graduation cap is an ageless representation of achievements that add a suitable tribute to the efforts of each student.
And so, in the UAE, where education is greatly valued, graduation ceremonies remind graduates of the great hardships met in gaining a degree and the bright future awaiting every graduate.

Where Tradition Meets Fashion: Graduation Gowns in Abu Dhabi
Graduation is a monumental occasion, a day where years of hard work and dedication are celebrated. In Abu Dhabi, this day carries not only the global significance of academic achievement but also deep cultural value. A key element of any graduation is the gown—an iconic garment that represents both tradition and personal accomplishment. In Abu Dhabi, where modernity intersects with heritage, choosing a graduation gown is more than just about the ceremony; it’s about blending tradition with contemporary fashion to honor the significance of the day.
The Significance of the Graduation Gown
The history of graduation gowns dates back centuries to medieval Europe, where academic regalia was first adopted by universities. Today, the gown remains a symbol of academic achievement worldwide. The classic design typically includes a cap (mortarboard), gown, and sometimes a hood, signifying different degrees and academic disciplines. However, in Abu Dhabi, graduation gowns carry an additional layer of significance as they align with the cultural values of modesty, elegance, and respect for tradition.
The Influence of Tradition in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, as a cultural and educational hub in the UAE, is known for its deep connection to heritage while also embracing modern influences. Traditional values such as modesty, respect for elders, and family honor play a key role in life events, and this extends to the choice of clothing for graduations. In the UAE, it’s common to see elements of traditional attire like the abaya for women and kandura for men, incorporated into graduation ceremonies.
These traditional garments emphasize modesty and grace, which reflect the values that are held dear in Emirati culture. When choosing a graduation gown in Abu Dhabi, many opt for designs that maintain the essence of these cultural norms while adapting to the global trends in academic attire. As such, the graduation gown becomes a fusion of tradition and fashion.
Modern Trends in Graduation Gowns
While tradition is important, Abu Dhabi is also a city that thrives on its forward-thinking nature. The younger generation, while proud of their heritage, is open to incorporating contemporary trends into traditional garments. This is evident in how graduation gowns have evolved over time. Graduates are now looking for gowns that are not only elegant but also reflective of their unique personalities and style preferences.
In Abu Dhabi, many local and international designers have taken notice of this trend. They are producing gowns that blend classic designs with modern twists. You’ll find gowns with subtle embroidery, delicate beadwork, and flowing fabrics that maintain modesty while allowing graduates to express their individuality. These modernized gowns are designed to flatter different body types, using luxurious fabrics like satin, chiffon, and organza.
Graduates in Abu Dhabi often opt for custom designs that reflect both their cultural identity and fashion sense. For instance, a gown might feature intricate Arabic calligraphy or geometric patterns that symbolize different aspects of Emirati culture. This fusion of tradition and modern fashion makes the graduation ceremony not just a celebration of academic success but also a reflection of personal identity and cultural pride.
Tumblr media
Renting vs. Buying a Graduation Gown
When it comes to acquiring a graduation gown in Abu Dhabi, graduates are often faced with the decision to either buy or rent. Both options have their advantages, and the choice largely depends on personal preferences and budget.
Renting a GownRenting is a popular option for those who want a high-quality gown for the day without making a long-term investment. Many rental services in Abu Dhabi offer a wide range of styles, from traditional to contemporary. Renting also allows graduates to access more luxurious or designer gowns at a fraction of the purchase cost. It’s an eco-friendly option as well, as gowns can be reused by multiple graduates over time.
Buying a GownOn the other hand, buying a graduation gown provides the opportunity to keep the gown as a memento of the occasion. Some graduates opt for custom-made gowns that are tailored to their specific style preferences. This is particularly appealing for those who wish to incorporate traditional Emirati elements or personalized features into their gowns. Owning a gown allows for future use, such as for family photos or even passing it down to younger siblings.
Where to Find Graduation Gowns in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi boasts a range of options for both renting and purchasing graduation gowns. Many specialized boutiques offer customized services that cater to the unique tastes of graduates. Tailoring shops across the city provide bespoke services, allowing graduates to collaborate with designers to create the perfect gown.
Conclusion
In Abu Dhabi, graduation is not only a celebration of academic achievement but also a reflection of cultural pride and individual identity. The graduation gown, therefore, becomes more than just ceremonial attire—it’s a fusion of tradition and fashion that reflects both the rich heritage of the UAE and the modern, dynamic nature of its people.

Advice and suggestions: Send a friend a link through email or share it on a social platform for fast feedback and suggestions. Getting your spouse's opinion once the product reaches your home is easy.
Availability of size: Whether your size is small or XXL, compared to physical stores, it is much easier to find your size online. The best part about shopping online is that you get free shipping and easy returns. If the size doesn't work, you can return it without difficulty.
More Choices: Physical stores can only offer a limited number of things. Many retailers don't stock every one of their products in every location; instead, they stock products based on customer demographics. Additionally, concerns such as stock and size shortages limit in-store selection. However, with men's clothing online, every product is available.
Online Discounts: Everyone loves a good sale. In addition to a broader selection of products from individual retailers, the convenience of online shopping lies in the ability to quickly and easily compare prices across a vast marketplace. Even better, online stores frequently offer discounts to entice customers to visit their websites.
Redaastore Is the Best Online Shopping Destination for Men People have often said that women shop and men buy. It is quickly changing in the online world, and men's clothing online in UAE is becoming a better choice. Get the best deals by shopping today!

Thobe dan Abaya
Thobe.

“‘Where have I been…?’ Well, obviously getting food. I don’t care what anyone else says. Forget fireworks. Eating is the best part of this celebration.”
Wanted to draw Majid in the clothing for this upcoming event!
I modified Majid’s clothes a liiittttlle bit, tho 👉👈 Just enough to find a compromise b/w an Emirati style of clothing (since that’s the country I loosely based his specific place of origin off of; a coastal area that’s part of the Land of the Hot Sands) and the designs that were shown from the promotional images! (´∀`) Tried to use my better judgement on what was important to keep from the original clothing so he could still be identified as being a part of this event!
Majid was probably encouraged/pulled along by Kalim and Jamil to tag along on this trip,
being inevitably roped into doing odd jobs for his upperclassmen and Yuu to make their tour flow as smoothly as possible.
Thankfully he managed to sneak away to get some time to himself at the end of the night.
