My brother recently got into Demon Slayer so I wanted to make a kny oc for him since I did it before with both me and my sister and never got around to my brother :)

But I started by refreshing my own design because wow?? It’s been 4 years since I first made my kny insert character and a lot of things are now outdated! Not to mention my art has improved a lot, I hope. More details under the cut!

Meet Ebisu Koharu: youngest of the Ebisu family and physically the weakest. They only barely passed Final Selection by hiding for the entire week and surviving off tips from their older siblings. Nonetheless, they still want to contribute, which is why they hold onto a thick, leather bound book that records every demon they’ve ever met in precise detail, with labeled diagrams and scribbled calculations in the margins of different strengths and weaknesses.

After spending a few years on the job, and properly seeing their data contribute to the successes of other demon slayers, they’ve come a bit more into their own as a competent researcher and fighter, though they still do tend to request paired missions with friends and family to act more as a support role rather than a fighter.

The Ebisu family is one of scholars. The eldest daughter Kaoru is a doctor, and the eldest son Shougen is a chemist. By nature, fighting is not necessarily their strong suit, which is why their family breathing style and techniques are all poison-assisted. Of the three, Koharu is the weakest and most averse to combat— they wield a short half-length blade, with more of a smooth ceremonial hilt and sheath than any practical weapon.

TL Notes (lengthy this time):

*1. the romaji does not match what emiru sings in the first line, 直射日光 彼女小匙二杯. I can tell he's saying "kanojo hoshoujo" but I can't tell what the correct romaji is for 直射日光 or for 匙二杯, as he pronounces it 100% different than the technically correct romaji.. I couldn't find anything online regarding this, and other romaji of this song also has it spelled the way I do *2. the lines where it says, "a chocolate sandwich biscuit "…"" intentionally cuts the phrase off before saying "cream," which likely has some metaphorical meaning? idk but it felt very intentional to me so I'm noting it *3. "plaything" or 玩具 is usually translated as "toy," but with the context of it being a person, I think plaything gives off the correct vibe here (throwing away someone that he sees as just something to play with) *4. "choco sando" is just an abbreviation for "chocolate sandwich" this song is popularly romanized as "choco sand biscuit cream" so I've left it be, the real spelled out translation would be "chocolate sandwich biscuit cream" though (like those little sandwich-type cookies, such as oreos or belvita breakfast biscuits) *5. onto the interpretation of this song, I think it could have several meanings and has a lot of layers to it. to me, it seems like the speaker sees people as objects, something to be consumed and thrown away later. He sees it as playing with them, not anything genuinely harmful. for example, he says he's been a "good boy" so he deserves to have a "fairly sweet taste." the speaker doesn't understand the harm behind his actions and sees nothing wrong with it, continuing his abuse. I also think the darkness of the song is hidden behind childish or innocent themes, (candy, toys, fairytales, and playing) while also combining science (stomach digestion, theories), all to hide the reality of what's going on. however I think it's up to individual interpretation, the lyrics are really bizarre.

Meet Comedian Candidate Girls in TV Anime MAESETSU! Teaser PV

    For its premiere in 2020, a public presentation for the upcoming original anime MAESETSU! - Opening Act- was held in Akihabaraha yesterday on January 7, 2020. A teaser PV to introduce its main characters screened at the event for the first time is now also streamed on KADOKAWA's official anime YouTube channel. In Japanese entertainment, "Maesetsu" usually means a short introduction talk before TV show recordings performed by assistant directors or rookie comedians. The anime's story centers on eight girls' struggles in the comedy entertainment business.

    Synopsis:

kanari and sleeping well never went hand in hand. even before the whole 'experiment' thing - though that certainly didn't help - she'd had trouble sleeping. at least now, as an adult, she wasn't stuck in her room after the appointed bedtime from her parents. there's only so much she can stand pacing around her apartment though, plus she's sure that she's bothering her neighbors with her swift walking.

so she heads out. there's a 24 hour convenience store right near her building. there's a chill in the air and she tugs her bright jacket around her petite frame, a slight bounce in her step as she walks.

the door jingles as she walks in, heading immediately towards the aisles of snacks. she needs chips, sour candies too. did they have those japanese peanuts in stock? she presses her tongue against the point of a fang, her stomach's almost growling at the thought.

she's not the only one in the aisle though. glancing sideways, she notes the woman. she looks ... familiar? someone from the bar? her name lingers on kanari's tongue, but she can't quite place it. what really draws her attention, though, is the smell. coppery. metallic. stomach-twisting. her eyes drop to the woman's clothes, then quickly look away.

standing slightly tense at amelia's side, she picks through the bags of chips, seeking out what she came in for. ❝ ... you've got blood on your dress, in case you didn't know, ❞ she says quietly, trying to not draw the attention of the clerk.

kanari's brow is furrowed, trying to wipe off a stubborn smudge on a glass. when he speaks up, she suddenly realises she's been rambling on about a recent incident, abstract enough to keep the whole 'superpower' thing under smoke. she clacks the glass down on the bar, eyes owlish with embarrassment. ❝ oh! no! really, it's not that bad. it doesn't matter. ❞ it's rambles out of her mouth quickly, words almost tripping over each other, her mouth moving too fast.

her mouth pulls into a grimace. ❝ ah, jeez. this is really the opposite of the whole 'bartender' thing, isn't it? i'm supposed to listen to customers, not talk about my issues. can i get you something else to drink? on the house. ❞
