Romantic (and very chic) haori, depicting an ume ni uguisu (bush warbler in plum tree), a pattern hinting at “match made in heaven” imagery.

The embroidered kamon is also lovely, as it depicts 3 sparrow-like birds:

We need to talk about Kamon because he’s actually really well written.

He starts off as this poor guy trapped in a shitty situation and then the more we learn the more we realize “oh he’s actually a complete bastard and then it gets worse” but I think it’s important that they don’t go too far

He doesn’t want to leave her there, he just can’t reach her in time. I think another show would have him leave her to really hammer the point home of him being a nasty guy but nah. He may be a shithead but he ain’t a flat shithead.

I also thought he was going to kill that survivor but he was actually tempted to go to the others and was horrified when he got merked

This is all the lowest common denominator for not being shitty and I still find him to be a nasty piece of work but sometimes characters who are supposed to be bad serve a better purpose when they have sprinkles of ‘not as bad as you could have been in there’

Idk he’s still a shithead, just a well written, realistic shithead

Also what the fuck is hypnotist doing with him? Is it gestating? Why is there an umbilical cord? I’m so grossed out and I need to know.
