hey i’m june and welcome to my personal blog! i’m pretty new to tumblr so please lmk if there’s any etiquette i might not be aware of. you’ll usually find me reblogging art posts, but sometimes i’ll post about my philosophies, some analysis of media, the typical love/heartbreak stuff, and the occasional doodles

I don't know if you've ever envisioned her as a hobby artist or anything, but when I was making this art earlier (I'm @kaleidos-copia) a thought crossed my mind: what if curator reader occasionally does little drawings of Copia (and his rats, and maybe herself too) in medieval illuminated manuscript style when she's bored in meetings or in her office? And then she later fleshes them out with colors, intricate patterns, and sometimes words and presents them to Copia, who either frames them on a little gallery wall where the gold details glitter in the morning sun that streams through the windows daily, or he starts compiling them into a silly little 'book of hours' devoted to their love 🥺

can i be so honest with you? the way i cried (happy tears) at this oh my god. first of all from a personal standpoint, i have my degree in art history so this is SO much fun to me (and curator reader does too, naturally heh) and second of all i can 100% picture her idly doodling on scrap paper in her office or in her notebook during meetings or while sitting on the couch half-watching something in the background. she loves the style of the très riches heures du duc de berry and when she starts discovering the ministry's collection of satanic books of hours for inspiration? she's in heaven (or is that hell?) but like copia framing her little bits and pieces she gives him is so achingly sweet and i love that so much for both of them <3 he definitely finds her facsimile copies of books that she can use for reference!!

Hello, I’m Kaleido! I go by Kal for short. I doodle in my free time and really like cute animals and games!

Main interest I’d say I have right now is Hatoful Boyfriend. A certain trio really took my last braincell, but I do like the rest of the cast as well. OTZ [A tad obvious, but Tohri is my favorite!]

Beyond that, I enjoy Monster Hunter, YGO, and Megaten! There are plenty of other series I like that I don’t mention much (Megaman, older anime, Hoyoverse, etc) so you may hear about it here and there.

I’m also a multi-shipper (includes OCxCanon) so I’m fairly open to hearing about other people’s ships (within reason). Definitely a fan of hearing how different people interpret a character and their dynamics with other characters (including headcanons and AUs)!

Did I mention I also like OCs? I’ll post about mine sporadically, but I’d love to hear about yours! (Just hope you’re okay with fanart lol)

I miss roleplaying so I may be open to that. I am trying to get out of my shell to improve even if my writing is stiff :’]

How are you this good at digital art?? How did you find your style so easily? Please, reveal your secrets o great one

and is this my style? this is a style? you acknowledged this and called it more than just a scribble? a doodle? and called it an art style? excuse me while i scream into the corners of the wall!!

well, this style was created out of sheer laziness and incompetence. i have never been able to draw symmetrically all my fucking life. like even at gunpoint i would never be able to, so haha,

but discovering the symmetry tools, the radial symmetry, it's almost like all those ideas in my brain you know that were locked because i didn't have access to that provision unlocked, my hands started finally moving freely, i didn't have to think about whether i would be able to recreate the same design on the other side

about the radial symmetry, i was so fucking amazed i mean i did have my fair share of drawing on those kaleido apps in my 2016 doodle phase when i got my first smartphone, but that wasn't detailed and i can literally show you how far i have come and everyone can cry

i started creating mandalas, i started drawing in details the normal eye would overlook.

starting to drawing digitally actually changed my life.

i was slightly reprimanded for constantly using erasers, for not having clear strokes and for my repetitive strokes and inability to draw one straight line (well, there's not one straight bone in me too)

but drawing digitally changed that. it was all me. my mistakes could be changed and worked over without any trace, quite literally. i could work in layers. i started using more colours in whatever i doodled.

i got the confidence to call them more than just a doodle or a scribble, i was confident enough to call them an actual drawing. I was willing to share things that i would spend hours on, without fearing what people would say. I was confident enough to create an "art page of sorts"

I learnt to realize that I can appreciate my own talent without tainting it with the comparisons I make with those better than me.

Why is this becoming an emotional post? And why is medieval bardcore WAP playing in the background shuffle while I do this?

But yes, I did find my art style and find happiness and contentment in this art form very wonderfully and quite very fast. I still got a hell lot to learn

but I've been proud of myself for maybe the first time I ever have been and that's such an accomplishment,
