Kala from Hindu mythology.
Kala is often used as one of the epithets of Yama. In Shaivism, Kala is known as the fiery avatar of Shiva Kala Bhairava or Kalagni Rudra; and in Vaishnavism Kala is also associated with Narasimha and Pralaya (dissolution of the universe).
Kala appears as an impersonal deity within the Mahabharata, the Ramayana, and the Bhagavata Purana. In the Mahabharata, Krishna, one of the main characters, reveals his identity as Time personified. He states to Arjuna that both sides on the battlefield of the Kurukshetra War have already been annihilated. At the end of the epic, the entire Yadu dynasty (Krishna's dynasty) is similarly annihilated.
Kala appears in the Uttara Kanda of the Ramayana, as the messenger of Death (Yama). At the end of the story, Time, in the form of inevitability or necessity, informs Rama that his reign on Earth is now over. By a trick or dilemma, he forces the death of Lakshmana, and informs Rama that he must return to the realm of the gods. Lakshmana willingly passes away with Rama's blessing and Rama returns to Vaikuntha.
Time appears in the Bhagavata Purana as the force that is responsible for the imperceptible and inevitable change in the entire creation. According to the Purana, all created things are illusory, and thereby subject to creation and annihilation, this imperceptible and inconceivable impermanence is said to be due to the march of Time. Similarly, Time is considered to be the unmanifest aspect of God that remains after the destruction of the entire world at the end of a lifespan of Brahma. According to Soifer, Narasimha is explicitly linked with Pralaya or Yuganta itself in Bhagavata Purana, Linga Purana, and Kurma Purana versions; he is said to appear like Kala or the fire of destruction, both agents of Pralaya.
The Vishnu Purana also states that Time (kala) is one of the four primary forms of Vishnu, the others being matter (Pradhana), visible substance (vyakta), and Spirit (Purusha).

"The Kalpa." From the Brihad Jabala Upanishad, "the Exploration of the Mysteries of the Copious Desire for Harmony and Rhythm."
Tumblr media
Rudraksha beads are the dried stones of the fruit of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree.  They are strung together and fondled between the fingers in order to assist with meditation. They represent thoughts of emptiness that do not produce the fruits of the action, and therefore cannot incur additional thought desires. All thinking done in the manner of the god Shiva is performed in the moment, instantly and spontaneously and is wickedness free:
He continued, “the great sages like Samvarthaka “the destroying fire”, Aarooni “the dawn”, Swethakethu “purest torch”, Durvasa “naked”, Rupu “form”, Nidhaga “sweaty” , Bharatha “of india”, Dathathreya “abstract data”, Raivathaka “a species of date”, Busunda, “the pistol” etc got freed by wearing Vibhuthi.”
Sanathkumara “in the same class as the gods” approached Bhagawan Kalagni Rudra and asked him, “Bhagawan, kindly explain me the method of wearing Rudraksha.” What he told him was, “Rudraksha became famous by that name because initially, it was produced from the eyes of Rudra. During the time of destruction and after the act of destruction, when Rudra closed his eye of destruction, Rudraksha was produced from that eye. That is the Rudraksha property of Rudraksha. Just by touching and wearing this Rudraksha, one gets the same effect of giving in charity one thousand cows.”
A thousand cows are what are called a kalpa, or episode. Imagine having one thousand days in a row without a single incident. This is the goal of meditation upon the seeds of the god Rudra Shiva.

"The Sit and Spin." From the Brihad Jabala Upanishad, "the Exploration of the Mysteries of the Copious Desire for Harmony and Rhythm."
Tumblr media
Hinduism identifies what are called devatas or "little gods" all over the body. The eyes, ears, nose, mouth, tongue, skin, arms, legs, penis, anus, each one has the ability to put it hands on the wheel and lead the mind astray. This is why the Upanishads emphasize light consciousness of their present status during meditation, to teach it one can survive plentifully even if one ignores a few urges.
Eventually the habit for growing the urges into a desire, and then satisfying that with an action which produces the fruits, the entire process dies out.
Fourth Brahmana
Afterwards Busunda enquired with Bhagawan Kalagni Rudra about wearing Vibhuthi in three lines. What he said was: On the forehead, you have to apply with the mantra, “Brahmane Namah! (Salutations to Brahma)”.
On the chest, you have to apply with the mantra, “Havyavahanaya Namah! (Salutations to he who rides the horse)”. On the stomach, you have to apply with the mantra, “Skandaya Namah! (Salutations to Subrahmanya)”.
On the neck, you have to apply with the mantra, “Vishnave Namaj! (Salutations to Lord Vishnu)”. In the middle, you have to apply with the mantra, “Prapanchanaya Namah! (Salutations to him who pervades in the entire world)”.
On the wrists, you have to apply with the mantra, “Vasubhyo Namah! (salutations to him who is like nectar)”.
On the back, you have to apply with the mantra, “Haraye Namah! (Salutations to Lord Hari)”.
On the top, you have to apply with the mantra, “Shambhave Namag! (Salutations to Lord Shiva)”.
On the head, you have to apply with the mantra, “Paramathmane Namah! (Salutations to the great soul which is in all beings)”. In each of these places, you have to apply in a set of three lines.
When we are wearing Vibhuthi on the forehead, meditate on the great Lord who has three eyes, who is the basis of three qualities and who makes everything visible in sets as “Namah Shivaya!”.
Apply Vibhuthi chanting “Pithrubhyo Namah!” below the forearm. Above that apply chanting “Eeshanabhyo Namah!” and on sides chanting “Eeshabhya Namah!” and on the forearms chanting “Swachabhyam Namah!” and on back sides chanting “Bheemaya Namah!”.
On both flanks of the belly put Vibhuthi chanting “Shivaya Namah!” and on the head chanting “Neela kantaya Sarvathmane Namah!”. This would remove the effects of sins done in the previous births.
One does not have to chant Namah Shivay while fighting the organs of the body for control, one just needs to sit and steer rather than sit and spin like usual.

The Kalachakra seed syllable or Tenfold Powerful One is the best known symbols of the Kalachakra system, and probably of the entire Tibetan tantric tradition. The symbol consists of an ornamental ring of fire, then the main symbol which combines seven individual syllables, on top are a crescent, a disc and a curved shape, making ten.
Surrounding the main symbol is a kind of frame made of flames, which corresponds to the outermost "Circle of Wisdom" of the mandala.
The symbol usually stands on a lotus (which also symbolizes the heart chakra) and three or four discs, like the Kalachakra deity: a moon disc, sun disc, Rahu disc and Kalagni disc.
