The Aniplex Fest is likely to drop a new trailer of Black Butler. I have high hopes that the voice cast remains the same, even with viscount druitt's (despite me still having teeny gripes with tattsu's cheating incident). I believe he's an irreplaceable va for viscount druitt, just like as he has been as makoto tachibana's va in free! Kuroshitsuji is a hotpot of big va names to begin with. OnoD (Sebastian), Maaya Sakamoto (Ciel) (congrats on her baby btw), Yuki Kaji (Finny), FukuJun (Grell), Suwabe Junichi (Undertaker), Romi Park (Madame Red). And many many other veteran voice actors. It will reaaaally turn me off if they decide to change some of the voice cast, even tattsu.

Wishing for a Kalafina comeback is like a punch to the moon so I'm desperately hoping that at least one between Wakana, Keiko and Hikaru will be involved with the theme songs/ost. Kalafina (s1 and s2 ed themes) reunion is too much of a wish but i have high expectations for SID to make a kuroshitsuji comeback again. They did the s1 and s3 op themes, as well as the Atlantic Movie's theme song and all are such wow. SID and Kalafina's music for kuroshitsuji is hardcore great and i always listen to them.

Thank you so much!! ♫꒰･‿･๑꒱ Okay, this is like five million years too late but I still had it in my drafts so I thought I would FINALLY post it (with some updates). It’s never too late for something like that, right? ^_^

♫What was your first impression of it? I didn’t really like it all that much at first. I thought it was quite boring actually. I don’t even know why but it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Up to this day the studio version doesn’t do anything for me…

♫How do you feel about it now? I think the first time I really noticed this song was when I watched their live performance during the 10th Anniversary Type Moon Festival. This was the first live version of Seventh Heaven to be officially released so everyone was looking forward to it and boy, this performance certainly did not disappoint! I don’t know what it was exactly that suddenly appealed to me but Keiko’s parts in particular really touched my heart. Her lines sound so much different when they are performed live! From then onwards I really started to appreciate each and every performance of Seventh Heaven and it has officially become one of my all-time favourite Kala-songs.

You know that feeling of being overwhelmed with happiness when you can’t help but cry because you don’t know how you ever deserved all of this…Like I just said, it reminds me a lot of Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaete Iku (even the lyrics have a lot in common) so it’s really no surprise that it makes me feel all the feels XD

♫What do you like most about this song? Keiko’s solo lines and the ending

♫What’s your least favourite part about it? That the studio version doesn’t do it proper justice.

♫ Best version of the song? I am probably biased because I have actually seen it live but I think it’s the one from their “far on the water Special Final”.

♫Thoughts on the musical arrangement and the use of instruments? I don’t much care for the studio version and the drums can get a little too overwhelming in the live version (towards the end). I definitely prefer the acoustic version.

♫Wakana, Keiko or Hikaru? Whose vocals are most impressive in this song? I’ll have to go with Keiko! Her parts are simply gorgeous, I’ll never get enough of her solo lines in this song.

I love, love, LOVE this moment from their “far on the water LIVE TOUR”. I also love how we got some insight during Keiko’s 10th Anniversary Pamphlet interview. To realise how much Keiko has actually struggled to sing her solo lines properly (and man, she really DOES sing them perfectly!) Awww, I really treasure that sort of background info. It makes me appreciate songs like this even more because I know how much effort they put into it.

♫ Best version of the song?I believe there is only one LIVE performance of this song (Kalafina LIVE TOUR 2015~2016), but it’s a really enjoyable one. I also loved the outfits!

it’s really unique and gives this kind of, celebration vibe. i don’t think we get that from kalafina that often lol

ah hmm. i guess it might be the glaring difference between the way hikaru and wakana handle the chorus? the effect kind of changes depending on who’s singing and, given the overall mood of the song, i think hikaru carries it better.

it was really cool to hear a kind of overture for it during the Arena live!

in terms of the meaning of the lyrics, it would be:

Awww! Thank you!! I never thought my post from the other day would actually revive this meme. Maybe I will finally get around to write a reply for all the other song asks that are still in my mailbox from back in the day. I never got around to finishing them all. I didn’t expect to receive SO MANY. I guess it was a little overwhelming. But now I am all pumped up to do them. FIGHTING! ＼（＾▽＾）／

♫What was your first impression of it? I was so impressed with the acoustic arrangement on the 5th Anniversary Live selection. I didn’t expect to like it since I have never been a fan of the normal version but Hikaru just nailed it. I love it when she sings like this. And this version made me realise how tragic the song actually is. The lyrics have always been kinda tragic but I feel like the normal version takes away from all that sadness due to its up-beat nature.

♫How do you feel about it now? Thanks to the acoustic arrangement, “sprinter” has literally become one of my all-time favourite Kalafina songs. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all versions of it. There are not many things that can make me cry but watching their Arena Live rendition makes me cry like a baby each and every time.

♫Describe the song in one sentence! It’s an affirmation of life, for me it’s about having the strength to go on despite all hardships. [In fact, whenever I feel sad or I miss Kalafina, I will listen to this song. It never fails to give me strength and hope]

♫What do you like most about this song? That it is Kalafina’s most personal and intimate song. That applies to the normal as well as the acoustic version.

♫ Best version of the song? I am struggling to find the right answer for this. The ones with added strings on the 5th Anniversary Selection and their Winter Acoustic album are simply fantastic. I particularly like the strings in the “kimi ni aitai…” section, they truly accentuate the build up. And then we have the super basic version with just the piano as accompaniement from their Arena Live.Who doesn’t love this performance? The rawness in Hikaru’s voice kills me.Speaking of Hikaru, I am not sure this counts because it was technically not performed by Kalafina but I am also incredibly fond of the version Hikaru sang during her birthday event. It definitely wasn’t the same without Wakana and Keiko but it still made me feel so very close to Hikaru. It’s as if she had allowed us to look into her heart. I will forever treasure that memory.

And I came across it on YouTube when I was still trying to figure out whose voice was whose in the group XD so thanks to the Arena Live version of this, I finally could distinguish them all, and I was definitely impressed by each of their voices.

For the Kalafina Song Meme ♫ Hoshi no Utai / 星の謡 ♫

♫ What was your first impression of it? …okay, I have a confession to make: I literally just heard this song for the first time last night. So I get to lump in my expectations along with my first impressions here. yaay… (please forgive me >.

Anyways, long before I heard this song, I listened to Yami no Uta and I thought, “Whoa, this is super cool and dark! I wonder what Hoshi no Utai is like?” For Hoshi no Utai, I expected something like a sequel to Yami no Uta, except slower and a bit more hopeful (in my mind, it was like Gloria and Kugatsu had a child and Yami no Uta was the godmother… weird, I know xD -i realize that kugatsu came out after hoshi no utai, and i do not care-) When I first listened to Hoshi no Utai though, my expectations were completely blown out of the water (maybe minus the Yami no Uta sequel part). I was a bit disappointed, but when the song ended, I realized “…hey, I actually like this song. It’s pretty good!”

♫ How do you feel about it now? Apparently, a lot changes in a day, because this is now one of my favorite album exclusive Kalafina songs alongside Yami no Uta, Gogatsu no Mahou, and Mata Kaze ga Tsuyoku Natta. It’s a really good song and I love it so much!

If this song had a music video, I think it’d be similar to sprinter and to the beginning combined, with to the beginning’s outdoor shots being used for the chorus, parts of verses, and that part that Hikaru sings at the end that I don’t really like, and sprinter’s solo member shots being used for, well, the solo member shots, the beginning of the song, parts of verses, and any part in need of random object focus (like at the beginning of Marchen, except in random parts here). For cosumes, maybe a combination of their red outfits from the Red Moon album cover and Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa’s costumes, I don’t know. Something like that. xD

incredible. the violin stands out for me the most because other than the vocals, it’s what you hear most often, and the portions where it sounds like it’s being plucked (omg can you pluck a violin? i have one but idk how to play it) or basically the times when it’s all you can hear are chilling.

♫ What was your first impression of it? I remembered that I kinda predicted that it’ll be Hikaru’s fast pace song so I sort of categorized it in the same group with ‘One Light’ (no surprises, same anime). I remembered that Keiko’s hand and legs are very pretty in the MV and how they cut her solo parts in the short ver.

♫ How do you feel about it now? It’s still on my playlist, good for when I wanna get hype up and do stuffs

♫ What’s your least favourite part about it? Aside from the short PV that ends right before Keiko sings? I hate the hand movement during concerts hahaha this is so not about the song, but it really is tiring, I’m getting too old for this T__T

♫ Best version of the song? April 7th, Marchen release event…WaKei holding hands during 手に入らない verse haha, honestly I don’t know I always prefer their live perf, and by that I don’t mean the bd recorded versions  >

♫ Thoughts on the musical arrangement and the use of instruments? Eh, just the typical stuffs Kajiura uses for anime songs, nothing special

♫ Wakana, Keiko or Hikaru? Hikaru for the acoustic version, she brings out so many emotion compared to the normal ver we got in the CD/normal live, if not then I’ll just keep on spazzing Wakana’s kajiurago singing XD

♫ What was your first impression of it?I loved this song from the first time I heard it!! It was one of the first Kalafina songs I ever heard and it was one of the reasons I began to fall in love with them.

♫ How do you feel about it now?I still love it as much as the first time I listened to it, if not more. I still listen to it several times a week. It’s very underrated I think and it’s definitely in my top 5 favorite songs. 

♫ Rate the song on a scale from 1 to 10 (with 10 being the best rate)!10 hands down. There aren’t many Kalafina songs I would give a 10 at all but this is one of them. 

♫ Describe the song in one sentence!It’s simple with not a whole bunch of lyrics but it’s very beautiful and empowering.

♫ How does it make you feel?This song makes me feel very comforted for some reason, and it makes me want to snuggle up in a blanket when it’s cold outside. ♫ What do you like most about this song?My favorite part of the song is definitely when Keiko does her solo at the end of the live version. But for the original, my favorite part is when the instruments pick up when Keiko finishes singing “haitteoide yo, hayaku”♫ What’s your least favourite part about it?There’s literally nothing I don’t like about this song. My only complaint about the original is that it doesn’t have Keiko’s epic run at the end. 

♫ Best version of the song? Well, the only version we have haha. The one at the Consolation tour in 2013. I sooo wish there were more versions/performances of this. I actually voted for this to appear at the 10th Anniversary Live!

♫ Thoughts on the musical arrangement and the use of instruments?To me the musical arrangement and instruments in this are perfect. The mix of guitar, drums, and piano in this song really makes it powerful somehow. Like I mentioned before, it’s really noticeable when Keiko finishes singing “haitteoide yo, hayaku” …THANK YOU KAJIURA-SAMA!!! 

♫ Wakana, Keiko or Hikaru? Whose vocals are most impressive in this song?KEIKO!!!!!!!! When I watched the live of this song, watching her sing at the end was when I finally fell in love with Keiko’s voice. I could listen to her hit that E5 every day. Before this I didn’t really care for it all that much, unlike the majority of people. This song captured me though, and I haven’t looked back since.

♫ I have to go with my memory to 2011 and without any doubt “Eden” is a song of which I won’t be never tired of! It was my first reaction to the sample! I was “oh wow such a beautiful and full of joy melody”!

♫ After reading “Record” interview when I literally cried all my tears *my sweety, lovely and adorable Wacchan* till nowdays my love for “Eden” is stronger!!

♫ A very deserved 10 ùwù I won’t never be bothered by this song!!

♫  In this case too the kajiurago and the “aaa” final of Wacchan before the first stanza! So so ethereal, so angelic!!

♫ Maybe Kajiura-san could have added a musical variation at the end of the bridge before restarting with the second part of the song, in this way it would be more particular, but this doesn’t remove anything to the beautiness of the lyrics ùù

♫ I’m emotionally tied to the version of “After Eden” Special LIVE 2011 at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL! All was perfect!! I loved totally the decoration of the stage and it was heavenly seeing the girls standing on the stairs with their giant white tulle over skirts!!

having been relatively new to kalafina then it was my first time hearing a song with that kind of vibe and style, so i was drawn to it! plus i watched a live before listening to do the studio so i was extra enamored by the dresses and the dancing lol

still a great song imo, though i can’t say there’s a kalafina song i’ve wholly fallen out of love with

the combination of powerful vocals and powerful instruments make it very epic.

during my early listenings it reminded me of ballroom and ballet. it kind of makes me feel like i have strength to do something big.

i really, really like the instrumental, as well as the bit that contains the highest notes + three-part harmonies. the sudden key changes are pretty good too; i was pretty surprised.

the type-moon live will stay with me until i perish. it was the first version of the song i heard and i was SO SHOOK when i saw the dance lol.
