I listened to Yumeoi Kakeru's 1st story album "Ongaku ga Kieta Machi"... certainly I hear the Shoujo Byou influence (and Sound Horizon).

It has a more modern setting than I expected (music player, earphones in tr02, live streaming in tr03)... well I guess I can overlook it, but the first track has this fantasy vibe, especially with the character Amadeus having wings...?

01 Seihitsunaru Distopia

Introduces the setting of a city where art has been banned... The character Amadeus seems to want to bring back art, it's his form of love... Art which involves death is the most memorable... So he's like "Can music kill people?" Um.... Okay not gonna lie, he's totally my type but my dude. What part of that makes sense. Why kill people... This is the ultimate Shoujo Byou-ism (well, chuunibyou-ism)

02 Sora ni Egaita Koufukuron

The girl, Aria, runs away from home and decides to look for where she belongs... Since music is so important to her, but her family and country took it away from her. She receives a mysterious letter with music that should have been banned, and she makes up her mind.......... to find her place in the sky.....

It's a pretty easy song to understand.

03 Attention Note

A rather modern sounding song. The Vocaloid? influence is pretty obvious here. (Idk about you, but many Vocaloid songs have this kind of Vibe. and many modern J-pop songs too.)

Casanova isn't really that invested in music, but more like... um attention seeking? A kind of revenge for how he was treated in the past. He's basically an underground idol. If that's what you call it? One day, among the songs he's supposed to sing, there's a really killer song. The girls are like "wow that totes stabbed me right in the feels" and then boom, "Can we stab you too?".

04 Saitei Saibanshou

One day, Fenimi (?) hears some song over the school's PA system and suddenly realizes all the heinous going-ons of her school (bullying, harassment, that stuff). So she takes it upon herself to judge them... Later, she sees a evidence of herself of a crime (a picture of her with scissors in her bag) and realizes she was also guilty... And receives her punishment.

The other two had to do with art, but I'm not sure what this one does. I guess just the fact that she heard Amadeus' song?

05 Aa Subarashiki Ongaku

There's no music video for this song onwards. Yet? I think?

It begins with a reprise of Tr02... Because it's about Aria's brother, Joshua. I believe he's trying to find out who responsible for Aria's death... Also, it has the Roman riff in here?

Well, he does find Amadeus. Amadeus' music can manipulate people's evil thoughts... Joshua learns more about Aria's feelings, how she wanted to find where she belonged. So he feels sucky. But idk what happens to him. I don't feel like Amadeus will let him off the hook just like that??????

06 Paradox Asymmetry

This really reminds me of Moon Symphony's Overdose Nightmare. Well this kid's name is Loony. The beginning sounds make it sound like they're in a hospital. They're in a time paradox? Time loop? There's some kind of unstoppable instinct that drives this loop of killing themself. But in a dream?

07 Ushinawareshi Saishuu Gakushuu

Ciel (Lize Helesta)'s singing and way of talking is very reminiscent of Shoujo Byou. Somehow.

I think she descends some stairs, something about her teacher... She finds Amadeus and she knows he's the one responsible for all the deaths, and she must hate him. He taunts her into killing him, to make his music's grand finale but she refuses to continue the cycle of hate.

It's a completely Marchen ending.

08 Andante

An ending song. I was surprised such a gruesome tale was being recounted to a child... I thought the storyteller was just telling this story in general. not to a little kid.

Overall, it's a modern spin on Shoujo Byou's brand of chuunibyou. I think there are some world building things that could be improved (the modern / fantasy thing). It was enjoyable though. Not the height of story music, but it works just fine.

My favourite songs are tr01 and tr07. They are also the most Shoujo Byou-like in my opinion. Sorry for constantly comparing them. They definitely sound different enough to be original. It's not like how some people compare Giten Seksalice to Sound Horizon, I swear. I say it in a positive way.

....Also there is a considerable story telling portion in the MV. Which is fine, but does make it hard to interpret the songs in the second half, whose MVs are not up yet.

It would be good to have a physical release. I think. Yumeoi seems like he would do something interesting with it. Because of the Sound Horizon influence.

Of course, I’ve haven’t watched ALL covers by all Nijisanji vtubers so these are my favorites only from those I have watched. Also, I have only watched JP Nijisanji vtubers.

I actually didn’t know about this cover until very recently. But it’s so good!! Aside from the fact that I love Hikaru Nara, three of my favorite Nijisanji singers are in this video so it wasn’t much of a surprise that it went straight to my playlist. I stumbled upon this video because I’ve recently looked into Kazaki (since she’s currently teamed up with Kaida, who I watch, for an APEX tournament).

I think this is the most recent video in this list. I was so happy to see that Kaida made this cover with Keiki and I was not disappointed. I’ve always loved HoneyWorks songs in the first place, so that definitely helped this cover rise up on on my favorites list. Also, because Kaida’s voice is <3

I don’t watch Chima’s streams, but I’m definitely a fan of her singing. Among all her covers, this is my favorite. Although I was more impressed by her overall performance in her Elfen Lied cover, this is the song that just goes straight to your heart. Her voices goes so well with it, too!

This is actually one of those covers I just love for the fun of it than focusing too much on singing skills. Love the members that appear in this cover. Love the video. Love that the song is easy to listen to. And, of course, the legendary comment that said this is how they (the four singers) bait their prey. (All four are known for psycho-leaning behavior/speech).

It’s so hard to choose a favorite from Melissa’s covers mainly because they have no bad videos. However, this is the first cover I heard from Melissa so it kind of has a special place in my heart. The way they sing is so “Melissa”. I can’t explain just how uniquely they interpret songs through their singing all the time. 

Last Resort - Ryushen

I am so sad I didn’t start following Ryushen sooner. They not only have interesting streams, their singing is great! I found Ryushen through Rain Drops because of Akina. Last Resort is my favorite, but their cover of Autophagy (?) [オートファジー] is also great. Although I love these types of songs from them, their range is great and they also have very good covers of slower or more cheerful songs.

Yumeoi!! My ONE OK ROCK fangirl heart almost couldn’t handle hearing this cover for the first time. I count myself lucky that I love Yumeoi’s singing and he actually uploads lots of covers and original songs. There is still never enough, so I hope he continues for a long time!

Inui’s voice is not only beautiful, every time she sings, you just kind of feel at peace. You know she’ll sing it well. You know she’ll reach that note. You just know. Her voice is that stable. I tried not to put more than 1 cover by the same person but I couldn’t help it.

KING - Kuzuha

KING ／ 葛葉

This is it. The song (this cover in particular) that took over my life in the last two months of 2020. I still replay this until now. This obsession isn’t healthy but it’s so good!!! The mixing is good, and the whole song/video aesthetic just fits Kuzuha’s image. Moreover, Kuzuha’s voice just fits the songs so well!

In terms of overall singing ability and style, my favorite is definitely Melissa, followed by Inui and then Chima. 

For the guys, it’s probably Yumeoi and Akina. 

But in terms of singing voice alone, Inui and Kuzuha are on the top. Kuzuha’s voice is really versatile so he has speaking voices that I absolutely love, but his singing voice is <3. (If I was told Kuzuha has a good singing voice when I first started watching his streams, I wouldn’t have believed you though HAHA)

(Unrelated to the topic of this post, but my favorite speaking/normal voices in Nijisanji are Kaida’s and Kanae’s.)

Howdy! I know I’ve been asking for a lot of readings, but my friend has been really curious and too nervous to request on her own. Plus, I’m trying to kinfirm another character.

Can I get a pendulum reading to see if my friend Izzy is kin with Kuzuha? Maybe a reading to see if I’m kin with Kakeru Yumeoi? Both are from nijisanji, as usual.

I got a weak yes to Izzy being Kuzuha and somewhere between a weak and moderate yes to you being Kakeru Yumeoi! Always remember though, you know your own kintypes best!
