Hello, hello 💚💚💚 Welcome to the chaos that is my main 🙃 Time for a new pinned post.

I'm oneinist (they/them, non-binary), and you can find me on Discord, Ao3, Pixiv and Twitter under the same ID (mostly viewing on the latter two). Come say hi if you like~

I love Naruto. I am forever going to die-hard-ship KakaIru, I love the two on their own as well - and from time to time I branch out into multi-shipping 👀

On this main, I reblog, interact, and play ask games (LOVE THEM!!) on a multitude of topics but ofc Naruto, KKIR, fandom and fannish stuff take up the majority.

Fandom Year in Review (2022)

It’s the very last day of 2022, and that means it’s time for a little look back at my fandom year in writing (and podficcing, events, etc.) once again! Then I’ll get back to writing before midnight, along with setting some goals and plans for 2023, of course. ;)

I posted 163 new stories to AO3 this year!

(Startlingly, as I had entirely forgotten, I also posted exactly 163 new stories to AO3 in 2021! o.o)

Those 163 stories were for 17 fandoms, 3 of them new for me to be posting for, and 50 ships! (18 of those ships were new.)

I posted a total of 377,979 words to AO3 this year!

I participated in 8 fandom events, with a total of 73 stories! Those events include:

Iruka Winter Bingo 2021-2022 (server event, @the-umino-hours) the Three Sentence Ficathon, over on Dreamwidth (moving to its own community for next year!) @harunosakuraweek @domaystic @badthingshappenbingo, which I will continue working on my board for @kakashiweek @whumptober, for which I wrote only minifics this year NejiHina Week (run by @nejihinata)

(And I don’t count my personal project the Valentine’s Spectacular in this list.)

But first, we want to thank everyone who participated in the event. All your creations were amazing, and we are absolutely blown away by the turnout! You guys created so much more than last year, and we would love to share the stats with you!

Kakashi slips fingers into his father’s hand and walks carefully so he doesn’t trip. It’s early, the sun isn’t even up, but they’re going to see a new friend—or so his father says. Above them, shinobi bound across the rooftops, heading to or from missions. Some wave to them; others call out, “Hello, Hatake-san! Kakashi-kun!”

Kakashi grumbles and frowns. He doesn’t like to be awake this early but he has to get used to it; next year he’ll be starting at the Academy and he wants to adapt to the mission schedule well before then. Father wants him to “remain a child,” or whatever that means—but Kakashi is excited to start his training in a few months.

Beside him, his father waves back to each one of the shinobi who pass them by.

Eventually, they enter a much poorer district than the one the Hatake compound is located near. Father would call it “humble”, but Kakashi sees the trash on the street and the state of the buildings and knows that however humble he might get, he’d never subject himself to live in such squalor.

“What are we doing here?” he finally asks.

“Patience, Kakashi,” his father says. “You’ll see. You may even enjoy it.”

They stop in front of a small house, too small to even have a yard or a garden. How are they supposed to train with no garden? His father leans over and asks quietly, “Ready?”

Kakashi shrugs and leads the way up to the door.

The man who opens it smiles tiredly at both of them, and nods to his father. “Hatake-san, it’s good to see you.”

“Please,” his father raises the hand not holding Kakashi’s, “just Sakumo is fine.”

The man steps aside and waves them in. “Sakumo-san,” he says, “Kohari will be overjoyed to have you.” They slip out of their shoes, and Kakashi looks around for guest slippers, but finds none. He almost speaks up, but the man ushers them through the house. “Come, come!”

“Did everything work out well, then?” his father asks.

“Oh yes. They’re both healthy and happy. A boy, Sakumo-san! You were right when you said so, five months ago.”

“I remember how my wife carried Kakashi,” his voice softens. Kakashi frowns and watches his feet as they carry him through the house.

“I’m… sorry for your loss,” the man says.

“I have Kakashi. That’s more than enough. I can only hope you never have to understand, Ikkaku-san.”

Kakashi leans the side of his head against his father’s thigh, feeling that big, comforting hand settle in his hair.

“Just through here,” Ikkaku says. He steps through first. “Kohari, dear. Sakumo-san has come to visit.”

“Wonderful,” a woman says from inside the room. She sounds exhausted. “And the little one?”

“Kakashi-kun is here, too.”

They all enter the room, a tiny bedroom wherein the bed takes up most of the space. There are bloody towels in a bucket in the corner, and a half-filled basin of water on the bedside table. Sitting up against the wall with a mountain of pillows behind her is a brown-haired woman with a soft smile on her face, looking as tired as she sounded, and—

And an infant in her arms.

Kakashi hasn’t ever met an infant before. He pulls on his father’s hand and quickly crosses to the bedside. He looks over at the bundle in her arms and his brain stops working. They’re so small.

“Would you like to come and meet him, Kakashi-kun?”

Dumbly, he nods, and barely registers someone lifting him up onto the bed so he can kneel beside Kohari-san. The infant gurgles and opens their eyes and—and Kakashi is trying to stay objective, to remove emotion before it starts so he can be the best shinobi he can be, but this infant looks at him with these beady brown eyes and it feels like the world is still.

“His name is Iruka,” Kohari says. “I hope the two of you will be good friends, Kakashi-kun.”

“Iruka.” Kakashi tests the name and decides it’s a good one. He likes it. He reaches out one careful finger and brushes it along Iruka’s cheek. Iruka coos softly and his own breath catches.

“Would you like to hold him?”

Kakashi nods quickly. There’s nothing he wants more. The men in the room both chuckle, and his father helps him sit in such a way that he’ll be able to support Iruka properly without much assistance. Then Kohari carefully places a tightly swaddled Iruka in Kakashi’s arms and that’s it.

He’s gone for this infant.

“Papa,” he asks, “when can we start training?”

His father frowns at him, concerned. “We’ve discussed this, Kakashi. When you turn four. Why are you asking again?”

“’Cause I need to get started now,” Kakashi declares. “I have to. Iruka’s just a baby. He needs someone to keep him safe.”

The adults all soften and sigh. Sakumo says, “That’s what he has parents for.”

“But not forever! Parents aren’t forever! Ka-chan wasn’t…” Kakashi sniffs and looks back down at Iruka, who wriggles a little in the swaddle. He leans over and brushes their noses together. “Don’t listen to them, Iruka. If you need me, I’ll always be there.”

“That’s a very bold statement,” Ikkaku says. “Are you sure—?”

“More than I’ll ever be about anything.” He smiles down at Iruka and swears that Iruka smiles back. “Always, Iruka.”

Love at first sight

For @kakairu-rocks Valentine Week prompt: Love at first sight.

I wrote a little fic that goes along with it, in French and in English 💙

Kakashi était sur le point de fermer la librairie après une longue journée.

Il ne prenait habituellement pas le temps de vérifier toutes les pièces puisque cet endroit malheureusement se mourrait, dans ce petit village perdu au milieu de nul part. Il était même sur qu'il devrait fermer définitivement le lieu, bientôt.

Mais aujourd'hui, pour une raison ou une autre, il décida de faire un tour, et c'est la qu'il le vit.

Il était endormi et semblait si paisible sous le soleil d'hiver qui se couchait déjà.

Kakashi s'approcha, enchanté par la beauté de ses traits fatigués, et pourtant le seul bruit de ses pas fut suffisant pour réveiller l'homme à la queue de cheval.

"Oh, je suis désolé de vous avoir réveillé monsieur. La librairie va fermer ses portes."

"Je m'excuse de m'être endormi. Cet endroit est si paisible et loin de l'agitation de l'école" dit-il en se relevant, un doigt grattant nerveusement sa cicatrice.

Puis, il sourit. Un sourire doux souligné par le soleil orangé. Si doux et pourtant il électrisa le coeur de Kakashi en un instant.

"Je vous offre un café ?" les mots s'échappèrent de ses levres sans qu'il ne puisse les retentir, voyageant jusqu'au visage du jeune homme qui, s'il parut surpris, ne de démonta pas pour autant.

Il rangea le livre dans la bibliothèque poussiéreuse et les grains de poussière s'élevèrent dans la pièce, rendant l'instant magique au yeux de Kakashi.

"Avec plaisir, Hatake-san. Mais ce sera un chocolat pour moi. Je m'appelle Iruka, au fait."

Et au son de sa voix, Kakashi tomba amoureux, au premier regard.

Peut-être que la librairie avait encore quelques jours devant elle, finalement.

Kakashi was about to close the bookstore after a long day.

He usually didn't take the time to check all the rooms since this place was unfortunately dying in this small village lost in the middle of nowhere. He was even sure that he would have to close the place for good, soon.

But today, for some reason, he decided to take a look around, and that's when he saw him.

He was asleep and looked so peaceful under the winter sun that was already setting.

Kakashi approached, entranced by the beauty of the man's exhausted features, and yet the mere sound of his footsteps was enough to wake the ponytailed man.

"Oh, I'm sorry I woke you up sir. The bookstore is about to close its doors."

"I apologize for falling asleep. This place is so peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of school," he said as he sat up, a finger nervously scratching his scar.

Then he smiled. A soft smile highlighted by the orange sun. So soft and yet it electrified Kakashi's heart in an instant.

"Can I buy you a coffee?" the words escaped his lips and he couldn't hold them back, traveling to the young man's face, who seemed surprised, but kept his smile just the same.

He put the book away in the dusty bookcase and the dust grains rose in the room, making the moment magical in Kakashi's eyes.

"It's my pleasure, Hatake-san. But it will be a chocolate for me. My name is Iruka, by the way."

At the sound of Iruka's voice, Kakashi fell in love, at first sight.

Maybe the bookstore had a few more days left in it after all.

Recap #5 - One year Aniversary

OMG I found this in my drafts - I guess life happened.  This is what I wrote in June 2022 (the 12th) XD:

----------- This was supposed to go up a month back but life happened so officially posponing my anniversary XD I can’t believe it’s already been a year now since I joined Ao3 and started this blog. I haven’t done any recaps since October 2021 so there’s a little more than 6 months to catch up on!

I did a thing where I worked very hard to write my last oneshot so that my word count would be exactly 20.000 - I cannot believe it!! I find it so cool that I have written this much! I still haven’t regained the output I had in the early days but that’s OK, maybe it was something like beginner’s luck or the IRL circumstances were perfect or something like that.

The #Myfanart tag has a whopping 51 pieces not counting the 30 doodles that were the result of the Doodle Drabble Nights over at kakairu.rocks. Add to this maybe around 10 pieces that have not made it onto Tumblr for,,, reasons 🙃🙃🙃

I also got to do my very first art round robin and first art collab this year. I remember for the round robin I was so nervous and spent an insane amount of hours on coloring cause I did not want to disappoint XD

I also passed my Tumblr 200 followers milestone a bit back but I am still to make anything to celebrate it. Since 200 is a common ISO-standard film speed for photographic films - I guess this means we should do SUKEA 💜💜💜

Oh my, listing them up like that, that’s quite a number of events!!!

Closing notes-ish ----------- Looks like I never got to writing a closing note but that’s okay, I’m going to post this anyway, leave it as is for like a week and then back date it so it shows up correctly in my archive (I’m a stickler for that XD). I’ve actually been working on recaps going over the last year so I’ll be posting some more of those till I’m caught up. I like having a diary like this~ I’ve also still been struggling massively with creative blocks in both writing and drawing so I’m going to just focus on other aspects of fandom and see where is goes, you never know whe inspiration hits.
