This is an open event run from 8th February to 14th February, dedicated to the love of our favourite ship!

How many wips do you have currently?

On A03: 0. Unpublished: more than a dozen.

Which one are you finding the hardest to finish?

Currently the KakaIru Big Bang fic is the one fighting me the hardest. The others don’t have a deadline so I’m not terribly worried if they’re recalcitrant.

What does it usually look like when inspiration strikes for you?

I sit down and open a document and let the words flow out of my fingers. I call it “being possessed by the story” and it feels a bit like having characters talking through me, like the nineteenth-century mediums who did spirit writing.

I say I write at two speeds: zoom and nope.

Do you curate playlists for each fic or is your process different?

I don’t do playlists but some stories are associated with specific albums or genres of music.

Do you go balls to the wall and write as you go or are you more organized?

Wildly variable. For fic I tend to start with a free writing session and then either keep going on vibes or reverse outline.

👓: Music, always, everyday and forever! A lot of my idea development comes from music with lyrics or just ~vibes~, but when I write, I mostly listen to instrumental or acoustic tracks I can just put on repeat. I listen to a TON of artists like Marcus Warner, Karliene, and Hiroyuki Sawano

🥳: I wanted to see Kakashi and Iruka kiss 😅 I'd written a lot on and off throughout my younger years but took a looooong break due to depression, and KakaIru simply reached past it all and went "nah bitch you're writing today" and here I am, 5 years later, still writing lmao

🌻: With some frequency! I actually don't read a lot, and when I do, it's me binging through an entire ship tag (ask me how much Vashwood I've read this week, it's obscene). But I have my favorites of my own I come back to, whether for comfort or enjoyment or just because I think the writing slaps! Here are a few I read most often: Singularity (ShigaDabi, G, 1.6k), In the Morning I'll Be With You (Odazai, explicit, 4.8k), and Blur (Sheith, M, 9k)

💭: Also music! But also also, everything else. I draw inspiration from everywhere, to the point it's often difficult for me to pick and choose ideas 😭 I have a personal discord stuffed full of cool phrases or wording I've seen in the wild, lyrics and pictures and quotes that inspire me, and just general thought dumps from my workday (my job doesn't take a lot of brainpower so quite often I've got 8 hours of uninterrupted plotting time heh)

So for the Mutual Pining prompt for KakaIru Valentine’s Week 2022, I got inspired to write a song... 👀 DISCLAIMER: I am super nervous about sharing it because I’m singing, and I’m not a very confident singer. I was just going to post the piano, but I felt like it need a voice to it, so I decided to suck it up and share my voice. I am not a trained singer, and honestly I don’t even know how I managed to talk myself into doing this (let’s blame @mandapandabug20​ for encouraging me XD), so please be kind and go easy on me 😅

Now that that’s out of the way, when I started writing the music, I pictured Kakashi & Iruka having feelings for each other, and when they’re talking, they’re battling with themselves, trying to decide whether to say something or not; and then when they walk off, they turn around to look at one another, but always miss seeing the other looking at them, too.

Then one day, when they’re looking back, they make eye contact, and realise that the other shares the same feelings as them; and they return to each other, and live happily ever after, and so forth.
