You can see how much Viktor hates what he's become when he breaks free of the Herald form. He looks at everything he's done and takes full responsibility for it all. He's the one who did it so it's all his fault right?

Except none of this would've happened if Jayce hadn't used the Hexcore to save Viktor's life. Jayce knows this, he knows that violating Viktor's agency is ultimately what caused all this. I can't imagine how much self-hatred he has inside himself.

And yet, despite the betrayal, despite mutating Viktor's body beyond his own recognition, despite never getting to use Hextech for good, despite the destruction it all ends up bringing, Mage!Viktor still ensures they will always meet.

Mage!Viktor knows what Jayce will do. He knows that Jayce will ultimately bring his own destruction, but he also knows that any timeline without Jayce isn't one he wants. He knows that Jayce had no way to know the consequences, that all Jayce wanted to do was save Viktor. Despite everything that happens, all the things they lose and lives they destroy by effect, he still seeks Jayce out in every timeline.

In every timeline Viktor gives Jayce the opportunity to save him, and in every timeline, despite the end result leading to ruin, Jayce does.

i can't stop thinking about that other version of viktor staying by jayce's body though. finding him in every other universe to give him the chance to fix things in the hopes that somewhere out there is a world where they can finally be happy together. but it's not this one. it can't be

anyway after watching that last arc with viktor choking jayce TWICE with two different bodies i think we can safely say he could dom the fuck out of that man and i want fics about it STAT

so much of viktor's obsession with the glorious evolution was rooted in hatred and dissatisfaction of his own body. it's only when jayce tells him that he doesn't see him as someone needing to be fixed, but beautiful in his imperfection that viktor is able to let go of that mission. ohhhhhhhh it's so good
