Hello, hope all is well! One of the themes I love about Kakai is the cover art for the chapters and how it shows the themes & symbolism that you enjoy writing about. Chapter 12 was awesome you did a great going from Sasuke and Jugo to Karin and finally to Anko, can’t wait for Chapter 13 and the chapter art! I wanted to ask what’s up with Karin sudden headaches? Trauma from her past or a plant to keep her from remembering? (If it is a spoiler I’ll wait lol) I’m excited for more & the future of the series

Experion, Scarlett, and Calderan Naming Conventions

So according to Experion's wiki, his name may be based off of the Marvel character Hyperion, who was named after a Greek Titan, god of the sun/skies. "Hyper" means "over, above" and "ion" is a form of the verb "to go"--literally, the name means "he who walks above". And Experion's name is a version of that which almost sounds like it could mean something, but it doesn't. (Even the roots are jumbled up, Latin "ex" [to go out of] and "per" [to go through] mixed with Greek "ion".)

From the beginning, Experion's name seemed odd to me. As far as we know, Skylar's hero name is her real name, and it's a somewhat normal name. But Experion doesnt really sound like something you'd name your kid. Yet Skylar calls him Experion and they're close friends, so it must be his real name.

Then it clicked. In an episode of Mighty Med, Skylar says that the most popular name on her planet is [alien sounds I will not attempt to replicate] (this name is somewhat similar to Kakai-rata's name, which leads me to believe that these pets are extremely numerous and so the name is very common). Then she says the second most popular name is Emily.

We know that A) all female Calderans look like Skylar, which means it's possible that all male Calderans look like Experion, and that B) the only other named female Calderan is named Scarlett. So it's also possible that all female Calderan's names start with S, and in turn, that all male Calderan's names start with E.

It's a stretch, but what if Experion's "real" name is Emily, and he chose to go by Experion because Emily is such a common name on Caldera? (And if that doesn't convince you: Emily is derived from the Roman surname Aemilius, which is in turn derived from Latin "aemulus" [rival] and the Greek "aimylos" [wily, persuasive].)

Prompt #9: Fair -  Alojzij

It was a good day, Al was almost done with the newest gizmo he’s developed for Huxian.  Kakai wanted something inexpensive to make but eye catching.  The fireworks above the mansion this time of year was just the inspiration the hrothgar needed to make the perfect thing.  Shaped like a snowglobe but filled with thin filaments secured within a metal base.  Al pressed the button on the front and the ends of the filaments lit up like tiny stars.  Then another button press and different ones lit up, making a decent simulation of the fireworks shows he’s been listening to the past few nights from the faire.  

At least they were more interesting than the yelling his ears were picking up from another wing, it seemed that Gael and Viola were at it.. Again.  The noise is a minor distraction, but not enough to distract from the show before him.  Eyes wide in wonder, Al watches his creation work.  The display was small, but the fireworks were no less beautiful for their size as he’d managed to capture every color of the rainbow and even the movement of a rocket from ground to sparkle in the air along a field of stars.  He even replicated the smell of... no, that’s not gunpowder? He didn’t put any scent simulators in this?  Was it burning?  No, then what is... Abruptly gagging, Al’s ears laid flat as something rattled up through the vent to plop on the floor of his workshop.  The smell turned a thousand times worse then, the hrothgar's eyes watering and his stomach churning from the noxious odor.  Surely he was dying, but he didn’t want to die!   Hand over his muzzle to try to block the smell, Al ran over to the panel on his wall, fumbled with it to open it, and then smacked the big red button in the center.   This was an emergency!  Sprinklers turned on from the ceiling, spraying everything down in water as small robots on tracks popped out of the walls and zoomed around the floor in search of anything burning.   “That!”, all hollered, pointing at the.. What was that anyway?  An robotic claw on the end of a long aperture extended from the back of one of the squat machines, reaching out to pick it up delicately.  The robot turns to Al, holding it up and starting to move towards him. “No, no, NO! Get rid of et, t’row et out!!”  The robot spun in place before going over to a wall with high windows across the top.  It took all of the roaming bots to make a stack up to the window, but stack they did before opening it up and tossing the offending item out of the room.  Now?  It was someone else’s problem...
