This summer, Shinichi Kudo and Kaitou Kid seem to have come upon A Fishy Situation...! (<- this is a fic link! you should press on it). Can Shinichi, cursed with a mermaid tail, get the useless bumbling fisher's apprentice, Kaito, to help solve crime and get his body back?!

the super cool amazing and funny @princebbu (writer!) and i (furniture drawer!) have worked very hard the last few months to bring the world's most introspective silly merfolk story to life for @kaishinbigbang, and it's a great adventurous tale of 37k (..!) words. u should really check it out, i promise it's worth your while !

shipping aside... making them related just ruins one of the most fun running gags which is that kaito can pass off as shinichi by pure coincidence because gosho has same face syndrome and can only draw like three unique male character designs at best and also because he just smooshed the worlds of detco ang magic kaito together for funsies

i just think if kaito sees this shinichi he's gonna lose his goddamn mind like i think he's actually gonna end up stealing for real just to sate this deep-seated desire he never even knew he had of wanting to decorate shinichi with jewelries and gems and ooooohhhhh like i know he's gonna find the ones that compliment shinichi's blue eyes the most, i fear for all the sapphire owners in japan y'all better hold on to them cause kaitou kid might just not return them for real lmaooo

the thought of shinichi getting jealous when kaitou kid gets all teasing with another detective always has me wanting to write a fic but I never get the time to do so.

detectives are always chasing after kid, but no one ever gets close enough like shinichi does, but what if someone catches on? someone figures that little conan knows where the thief is and follows and ends up using conan as a way to get to kid.

shinichi would probably brush it off at first, but when it happens constantly, and he doesn't even get the chance to talk to kid in between the heist and kid's escape.

he's get annoyed, jealous, mad, and everything else that would probably come to mind because it's his thing to do, he's the one who's supposed to catch up to kaitou kid.

that detective could be hakuba, or maybe even hattori. if heiji ever plans to attend a heist- but its mostly hakuba, because he's the one who's trying to prove things with kid being kaito.

he's like any other detectives, planning to catch kid, and arrest him, and yeah maybe shinichi puts on that thought too, but shinichi is nothing like most detectives, as conan, he can't catch kid in the way that others try to, not that he wants to.

I don't think kid would notice how conan feels at first, he'd be too caught up with a heist and he'd just forget, especially if some other detective is trailing after him and has figured where he was before he planned to.

he'd call out for "tantei-kun" at first, then pauses because that isn't conan he's talking to, it's another detective and he just gets caught with that to the fact that he doesn't notice.

shinichi wouldn't say anything, maybe he'd think he was replaced, but he wouldn't confront anyone at all, and maybe he's feel emotions he didn't expect, and maybe that's when he realizes he has feelings for kid and it makes him want to cry and even distance himself.

because the kid heists was his escape from the horrors that come with murder scenes, and the kid heists were a way to take a break from all the black org stuff.

he feels replaced in a way, but he doesn't know how to describe it and maybe won't attend heists in general until he figures out his feelings.

ran would notice, little cheerful conan who'd get all excited at the mention of a heist note and rush to figure out the riddle, only for him to switch and lock himself up in his room and just fucking cry at the mention of a heist. that wasn't normal.

she'd try to take him to another heist to cheer him up one time, conan wouldn't have even figured out the riddle yet, not having enough time to put pieces together and he's just so mentally drained to do anything. he just goes to a rooftop near by, aiming to watch from afar, he's too tired to bicker around with kid.

at the site of the other detective following him he just snaps, he can't take it anymore, he feels like he's being used and just yells it out, doesn't even notice kid's presence before he's storming away, frustrated and mad and he can't stand anything, he can't go home and leave ran, and he just wants to rest.

kid is right after him, barely escaping from the other detective with a light bang and a dummy with his glider, rushing after conan because that's his tantei-kun crying about god knows what.

Yeah that's all that came to mind, I love angst guys ahaha no happy ending ever appears in my thoughts 👍👍👍

KAISHIN FIC IDEA: THE PHANTOM

Heya! It's been awhile since I've posted anything in regards to KaiShin. Not for the lack of interest, mind you. Just have ideas for other OTPs of mine

This is purely self-indulgent, so please keep that in mind:

The basic premise is based on the whole M27 where its revealed that KaiShin are cousins and Touichi is alive, basically faking his death

Now while Shinichi is still dating Ran considering its set after the Kyoto arc, he's also been struggling with his attraction and grudging affections towards Kaito. Since its legal and while awkward (considering his reaction towards a pair of married cousins from an early case on board a ship), its sorta a normal thing for cousins to marry in Japan. Nevertheless, the reveal makes things more complicated for Shinichi and to save himself the headache and drama, he buries those affections

Because with Ran, things are simpler. The girl he's been in love with since kindergarten. Beautiful and sweet. Neither a criminal nor does he share a complicated bloodline. He has a future with Ran

Being in love with Kaito is dangerous and unpredictable. Complicated and messy

So he chooses Ran

Now with Kaito, the reveal unfortunately breaks him. Its the ultimate betrayal. His father, mother, uncle and aunt, were all in on it. What became the last straw is how the reveal also made Shinichi retreat from him

He knew that he didn't have a snowball chance in hell for Shinichi to choose him. Ran is everything Kaito is not after all. Now while Shinichi got mad on his behalf regarding the cruel charade their family had weaved, his retreat also made it clear in Kaito's eyes that no one in his family will ever choose him either

This, unfortunately, is what drives Kaito completely insane

After they bring down the Crows, Kaito sought out Haibara to cash in the favour for saving her life. He asks for the APTXN4869, asking her to erase everything in his DNA and genetics that ties him to his family

Perhaps out of pity or a morose sense of understanding, Haibara agrees

The resulting erasure of genetics and dna took the melanin away in his system (which I doubt is possible in real life) and causes Kaito's hair to turn white and his eyes silver

He cuts ties from his family, especially now that there's nothing legal nor anything genetic binding them anymore

I dunno exactly how I want this au to end but I honestly just want to see an AU where Kaito has white hair and silver eyes as well be completely KID with no civilian identity

This au can also easily work without KaiShin being cousins like in M27 too. I just like the added drama, that's all 😅😆

So yeah, here's my messy self indulging brain rot to wanting a white haired, silver eyed Kaitou KID
