❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?

hanan is daring, gentle and kind. kind of simple positive traits maybe but considering she works as arasaka security and is tasked with keeping test subjects of one of its secret projects under control it's very special traits to have i think

she's not easily scared which is a good thing to have in that line of work, but it also means that she's not scared to sometimes break or bend the rules juuuust a little bit if it means one of the test subjects can be a little bit more comfortable, just a little bit less in pain. she's very strong and can wrestle anything and anyone to the ground but those same hands will tend to wounds SO carefully. and she's been trained to be cold and uncaring and even though she knows that most of the test subjects will end up dead anyway, she is still kind to them and tries to be a friend to them, because the words she says to them before they go back into testing might just be the last words they'll ever hear

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?

hanan is erratic, indecisive and resentful. she will often want to do whatever feels right in the moment, leading to her being very unpredictable which can make her difficult to work with and this is especially a problem within her division, where everyone is mostly in it for themselves and her doing her own thing is very much not beneficial for anyone else

at the same time, all of THAT leads to her indecisiveness because it makes her wonder if she needs to take on a different approach. at some point, circumstances lead to her following others' lead a lot more, which gets disrupted when she starts seeing things happening she doesn't agree with and it makes her hesitant to follow the orders she's been given. kind of an intricate clusterfuck where different traits and circumstances are causing her to get worse which is not what you wanna see

the resentfulness mostly manifests itself in her ability to just hold lifelong grudges. it's very difficult to get back on her good side once she feels like you wronged her in a way; but at the same time it's very difficult to get to that point in the first place, so once you've crossed that line you must've fucked up BADLY to get there

hanan loves bears! they're strong. they look cute. very huggable. she's very upset about the fact that you shouldn't actually hug a bear she wants to do that so bad

hanan is an ambivert! loves to be around other people and prefers it so much over being alone but also gets very easily overwhelmed when it's too many people or the wrong people. not that she would ever let this show because she can't afford to do that in her line of work

hanan likes to talk but is more often quiet than anything else because of her position in arasaka. once she's in private she will just keep talking though, doesn't talk very fast so it's less of rambling / infodumping it's more like. idk she kinda has a storyteller vibe to her when it comes to talking? if that makes sense? very pleasant voice to listen to and she can make any dull situation sound like the most fantastic thing to have happened all month

🍝 SPAGHETTI — what is/are your oc's favorite food(s)?

she loves any dish with rice, mainly nasi and risotto! also likes potatoes a lot, mashed potatoes and fries specifically, but she will eat them in any way honestly. generally doesn't eat a lot of meat but she won't say no to a good hamburger

❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?

reid is charming, determined and surprisingly thoughtful, once you get on his good side and he's taken a liking to you! he's a very good talker so he's very good at making people feel at ease in a conversation. hardworking and doesn't back down easily so if he has a job to do, he'll make sure that he finishes it (which is part of why he ended up kind of losing himself at maxtac a bit, too lost in the "wanting to be good" sauce). and once he's in his "no longer evil i wanna be loved now" era he really just wants what's best for his friends and he'll make an effort to make that reality. he's very insightful and can easily act on people's needs without words and he often uses this to surprise people with things (mostly in secret; he will simply do a task that someone's been putting off or he buys someone a gift and leaves it on their desk, he doesn't need credit for any of it)

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?

reid is arrogant, impatient, jealous and manipulative as FUCK. mentioning four of them because his arrogance settles down VERY quickly once he's no longer in a powerful position. getting locked up for a year in some safehouse is very humbling LMAO the arrogance leaves his body with the confidence that his position of power gave him basically <3

still very impatient though but he doesn't get snappy because of it, he's just imploding one billion times until the thing is over and then he can be normal again. the jealousy is also still a bit of an issue, he gets jealous VERY quickly and he KNOWS it's a problem so he tries dealing with it as best as he can. can you imagine that jealousy is what caused him to try and hunt cassidy down in the first place. boy if you'd just been a better boyfriend to him then none of that had to happen in the first place

his manipulative side is also no longer active for the most part, right now he just uses it to get more money out of aubrey's rich corpo cunt clients or he uses it while doing gigs but he's not actively manipulating his friends or anything. he used to do that all the time though, especially back at maxtac he really just wanted more power and he was willing to do anything to get it

reid's favorite animal is a spider! he LOVES spiders. he's obsessed with them. fascinated even. whenever he finds a spider at home he will just sit there and look at it. he can SO easily identify different kinds of spiders

reid is an ambivert though he Thought he was an extrovert for the longest time which is why he never really realized it when certain situations were draining his battery :( it mainly depends on the company and the location + external factors like how busy it is and how much noise there is and how much sleep he got last night, and nowadays he automatically tends to be a little bit more reserved than he used to be because he doesn't want people to get the wrong impression of him by taking over the conversation too much

kind of similar to previous answer, he's pretty reserved in conversations nowadays but always knows JUST what to say or ask next to keep it going and to like, not make it awkward basically :) he's usually very comfortable in social situations he just doesn't want to be Too Much and also if the situation itself is Too Much then he automatically retreats a little bit. he's a tired little man nowadays he needs to save up his energy he's getting old

reid will basically eat anything when he's going through a depressive/dissociative episode and it will be THE fucking best thing he's eaten all week. could be a tin of sardines. could be a slice of dry bread with some butter. could be plain microwaved rice

when he's NOT in hell however he loves pasta a lot! big fan of curry too, loves chicken roti, loves pilav, loves to make wraps with some chicken and veggies. he's not a very big eater but if you give him fried chicken you'll have to take it away from him at some point because he will just not stop eating until it's gone

vincent is affectionate, passionate and reliable! he loves his friends so much and he's always making sure that they know it :) he's very passionate about the things he does and the things he likes and he always brings the best energy with him wherever he goes which makes him very easy to like!

his reliability is funny because he IS very reliable it's just that. he may fuck it up first. a few times sometimes. he will NOT stick to the plan. if there's even a plan to begin with. but you'll have his word that in the end he will get shit done and he will fix any mess that he might've made along the way and that's very important to me. he's doing the best he can and he won't stop until everything is sorted out but he is messy along the way but humans are just messy in general and it's fine. he's doing just fine

vincent is disruptive, jealous and a little bit touchy. the disruptiveness ties in with him being messy; it Mostly applies to combat situations where things always end up a lot bigger than necessary because of him but also in regular situations sometimes where he's being very excited but is accidentally too loud / too present etc etc

the jealousy is a direct result of him being the youngest of. five. yes. i keep forgetting how many siblings he has but yes he's got four older siblings and he had to fight for his LIFE to get some sort of attention at home. in his eyes his siblings always had cooler stuff than him (which was definitely true to a degree) and it's made him very possessive of everything he has nowadays and he easily slides back into the "i want that too" mindset from when he was younger

that's also where the touchy attitude comes in play. he gets defensive very quickly and is prone to take things personally a lot even when that's not even close to what people meant :( he ends up being able to deal with it better over time because of the dynamics at home with vitali and mikhail being a lot better than back with his family so that's very nice

vincent loves so many animals but his favorite would be a cat :) that's why he's got three cats at home at this point LMAO nibbles (his own cat), sapphire (vitali's cat) and buttons (mikhail's cat) :D

vincent is definitely more of an extrovert but for a while after recovering from first johnny being stuck in his head and then from getting rid of soulkiller's influence (the thing that only gave him six months left to live etc etc) every social interaction basically kills him dead on the floor and it takes him a WHILE to fight that off

he LOVES burritos (thank you red). he could eat those for breakfast And lunch And dinner and he'd be lying if he said he's never done that before. big fan of stews as well, loves korean bbq, OBSESSED with shoarma. won't say no to a good pizza either. he will basically eat anything though, and he also eats nearly everything with hot sauce

You know, it's really wonderful for me when I find fanfics that make my favorite characters go through the greatest psychological terror and witness and be the victims of the worst traumas that a Writer could invent.

All this because I myself am too "nice" to write something like that, I really don't have the courage to make them go through hell, so yes, most of the stories I write are cute and domestic things with love and tranquility, I like to write calm atmospheres but as a reader I'm almost the opposite, I still like to read about the characters having a peacefully life and all... But I also love the traumas they could have experienced if the script were to take a different route than the original. So yeah, thank you so much for putting one of my favorite characters through one of the worst trauma scenarios anyone could go through. It is truly peaceful to see them going through all these losses, whether of memory, limbs, lucidity, sanity... All to finally see them have the peace of finally being with their loved ones living a relatively peaceful life after all this.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not a monster. I cry while reading the scenes. All of them, especially when I remember that about five chapters ago they had the happiest moment of their life. But I know that in the end they will have the happy life they always dreamed of.

I hope so at least... Please never recommend me a sad story that ends even worse, I am SENSITIVE.

Anyway, I made this huge text just to say that I really love Dad Jay AU and I can't wait for the next chapters and arts. I miss Kaida and Jay's interaction and I would really like to see them both being silly and true chaotic troublemakers in the Tournament. I really want to kill Ras and Cinder now, I expected to see the Flea Cat but I was hoping that Smoky would never show up again, but you've dashed my hope. My only consolation now is to imagine Cinder's face/head as a car hood, super threatened and more beaten than a milkshake.

AAAA thanks!! ^^ I'm glad you like my fic. I myself suffered writing some scenes (like the end of chapter 16 was VERY difficult to write and even I thought it was too much) I reread previous fics like Spirits in the Sky and think, wow, they were so happy and silly and now they're so traumatized.

Suffice to say that I briefly considered following canon and not having Kaida end up in the nether space because I want these two to finally be able to rest. I swear the original plan wasn't for them to suffer so much but here we are. I promise Jay and Kaida that they will have the happy ending they deserve with a big family and a relatively peaceful life (relatively because- ninjas, yk). I wouldn't be able to give them a sad ending after all the shit they've been through, trust me.

And believe me when I say that I really really miss writing them together, I've gone ahead and written the fluff and comfort of the last chapters for that reason xd. I'm always happy when I get a comment about how Kaida would have acted in the tournament (my favorite is that she would have made fun of Jay when Frak said he looked badass with an eye patch) or that they would have liked her to participate and win, so I know that everyone will like the eventual reunion :)

Kaida walked next to him, admiring the nature and the miles of farmland shimmering with shades of autumn green, yellow and brown. Her thoughts ran freely, focusing on the pleasures of the journey, until a quiet giggle tore her from her reverie.

At first, the woman thought she had misheard, but she quickly realized that the sounds were being made by none other than the ninja walking next to her. The laughter muffled by the mask sounded more like the sounds of young students feeling infatuation for the first time, not a grown man who could kill an enemy in cold blood. At that thought, Kaida couldn't help but snort, which she tried with all her might, ineffectively though, to suppress.

Kakashi tore his gaze from the book he was reading and looked at the woman walking next to him judgmentally. Unfazed, he returned to his guilty pleasure and, still reading, addressed her with a playful grunt. "Is something funny there, little ryū?"

Kaida rolled her eyes at this attempt to get on her nerves and merely shrugged innocently. "I didn't know that the famous Leaf's Copy Ninja, Kakashi of the Sharingan, the future Rokudaime Hokage, could giggle like an excited teenager..."

A wide, victorious smile lit up the kunoichi's face when for a split second, Kakashi tensed all his muscles, and the first signs of embarrassment appeared above the edge of his mask. The next words leaving the man's mouth were excessively dry and dispassionate, as if he was trying his best to restrain himself from showing any emotion. "I do not giggle."

"Oh, you don't?" Kaida crossed her arms over her chest, unintentionally emphasizing their shape, which involuntarily caught the jōnin's attention. But before he could stop looking, her right hand went to her chin in a caricatured gesture of contemplation. Her eyes full of mischievous sparks. "So what do you call the sounds you make when you read how Junko is passionately kissing Arata?" At the sound of the drawn-out words, spoken in a hushed, sensual voice, Kakashi cleared his throat and swallowed louder than was natural. Kaida watched his every reaction closely. "The sounds you make when Arata sits in front of kneeling Junko, his legs spread wide, and her plump lips approach his hard, throbbing...”

“Kaida!” the man interrupted abruptly before she could finish describing one of the most spicy scenes from ‘Icha Icha Paradisu’. A red blush had already spread across the man's entire face, who at that moment was extremely grateful for the mask covering his face.

Seeing his reaction, the kunoichi tried to hold back a deep throaty laugh by putting her hand to her open mouth. In response, she only heard a groan of defeat. “Did I embarrass you, Kakashi?”

“Maa, not at all…” The man cleared his throat, trying to get rid of the emotions in his voice while putting on a mask of dispassion. He failed. Miserably. “You surprised me, I won't deny it.” Kakashi put his book in his pocket and adjusted his mask. “I thought you were more… prudish…”

“Prudish you say?” Kaida raised an eyebrow and looked at the jōnin walking next to him from head to toe. “Then you don't know much about me. I have to admit that ‘Icha Icha’ is one of the more vanilla books I've read.”

At this statement, Kakashi choked on his own saliva, which caused another wave of laughter from Hoshino, who took inexpressible pleasure in torturing her friend. “Are you sure we read the same book?”

The glow of Zeke's clinic became a beacon of hope on the horizon. Mei pulled into the parking lot, where Zeke awaited them with a stretcher, his expression a mix of concern and readiness. The soft hum of the car engine ceased, leaving only the muffled sounds of the nighttime city.

Opening the backseat door, Mei was met with the challenge of getting Kaida out. "I tried to staunch her bleeding... but I didn't know what to do... I know it's been years since you two.... I just... didn't know who to ask for help, Zeke," Mei confessed, her voice a blend of anxiety and regret. The cool night air carried Mei's words, a stark contrast to the warmth and urgency of the car's interior.

"It's okay. Can she walk?" Zeke's focus was entirely on Kaida, trying to steady his emotions. His eyes, a mix of worry and determination, scanned Kaida's form.

"No... could you help me get her out?" Mei's plea held the weight of impending breakdown. Mei's grip on the car door tightened as she awaited Zeke's assistance, the gravity of the situation etched on her face.

Upon hearing Zeke's voice, Kaida stirred, attempting to exit the car by herself. With a swift motion, she heaved herself out but instantly regretted it. The world darkened, a persistent ringing filled her ears, and she fell forward. Panic set in, and Kaida began to flail, her memories of the recent fight and the fall playing out in her disoriented mind.

Strong arms caught her, preventing the fall she anticipated. Confused, Kaida resisted, muttering, "Let me go... no... no... this isn't happening." Mei's reassurances faded amid Kaida's delirium.

As Kaida struggled in his grasp, Zeke felt a mix of emotions. Hurt flashed in his eyes, unsure why she seemed to resist him so vehemently. The dim glow of the clinic's entrance highlighted the tension of the moment. Zeke's concern deepened, wondering if there was more to her struggles than met the eye, and a sense of regret lingered, as if past actions had contributed to this apparent aversion. The weight of their shared history amplified the complexity of the situation.

"This is too much, even from you," Zeke remarked, surprise and disappointment echoing in his voice. With a slight tinge of reluctance, he tightened his hold on Kaida. "Kai, I won't let you go. Stop being stubborn," he urged, his tone carrying a mix of concern and frustration.

"I'm sorry... but please... don't kill me... I... have a sister..." Kaida's desperate plea echoed her vulnerability. Mei's concern deepened, and she exchanged a worried glance with Zeke.

Everything clicked for Zeke. Kaida was in shock, still grappling with the trauma induced by blood loss and the recent incident. "Kai... I've got you... I'll never let anyone hurt you again... I promise... calm down, little dragon..." His voice, a blend of reassurance and determination, pierced through Kaida's delirium. Mei continued to offer silent support, her eyes reflecting both fear and hope.

Zeke's reassurance worked its magic as Kaida ceased her flailing, casting a look of recognition upwards at Zeke. Despite his heart wrenching at the sight of Kaida's pain, he tried to comfort her. "Ze -" and abruptly, Kaida blacked out, leaving Zeke cursing himself for allowing emotions to override rationality. Swiftly, he placed her on the stretcher, determined to lead her into the clinic for immediate attention.

When the assassin Hard Truth killed his latest target, he didn't expect her to get back up again and slice his face off. Taking a deal with Eye and Seven Despairs to save her life, she was reborn as Candor. Her mission to deliver more souls to the Eye to convert to her Death Knight army got sidetracked two years later when she took a job bodyguarding a group of adventurers. Water aspect Dragon-Blooded, 27 years old, 5'7", she/her

Born to the rich Kaida family of Brightwork, Lyrena grew up having the importance of decorum and responsibility drilled into her, out of the hope that she'd be the first person in her family to become a Realm soldier and bring respect and recognition to the family name. Instead, she screwed up her first assignment so badly she ended up on the run with a group of Tya, pursued by her ex. Now, after running into her childhood best friend and falling into a complicated love triangle with them and another shipmate, she's just trying to keep her life together without going insane so far from the comfortable, controlled life she's used to. I am still debating whether I should go or not...it kills me that they haven’t announced additional performances yet. I mean, I am convinced that the Osaka lives will not be the final performances. Those are almost always in Tokyo. YK’s tours typically go out with a bang so there must be something else in store for us.But how am I supposed to make plans without knowing any details? At this point it looks like Hikaru might not even be involved in any of these lives. The focus is definitely more on the new artists (rito, LINO LEIA) and the ones that YK collaborated with (Aimer, LiSA etc).

Meet Kung-Takahashi Kaida (My Mortal Kombat OC)

Name: Kung-Takahashi Kaida

Parents: Kung Jin and Takahashi Takeda

Backstory: She was found in a village that had been attacked and she was the only survivor. Only eleven months old, Takeda and Jin had found her and took her in as their own. They trained her when she turned eleven, even though they wanted a life for her that wasn't violent, but they did after she begged them to.

Height: 5 ft 4

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Power: Kaida is an empath. She can feel what others are feeling. She can also manipulate a persons emotions but for only a few hours until she passes out. Kaida can actually kill someone by overwhelming them with emotions, but it will take up all of her energy. Sometimes she can feel multiple emotions from multiple people, which can cause her to get overstimulated. She can also gain information from others by reading their emotions. She does this by focusing on what the person is feeling and she can find out what the cause of that is. It's not as strong as she would like it to be, but Takeda is training her to control her power and how to manage it. Hopefully in the future, Kaida thinks that something could trigger her power and make it stronger. Takeda and Jin have a feeling there's more to it than they know.

Weapon: Like Takeda and Hanzo, Kaida has two chained Kunai whips.

What She Is Afraid Of: Kaida's biggest fear is tight spaces.

Ouma Great War Chronicles - Episode 17: The Accomplished and Interesting Kid I Mentioned

Narrator:  Nagao, Kaida, and Genzuki calmed the madness of a demon with the Soul-Resting Flute. However, the trio’s cooperative efforts were not aligned, and they missed the kill. At this moment, Kaida pulled out a synthetic talisman, which was in ongoing development.

Kaida:  This is not something bestowed by the gods. It’s a synthetic talisman I created!

Nagao:  Ohh! That thing you mentioned before. Is it finished?

Kaida:  Nah, it’s still a prototype. So let me experiment a little. Haah!

sfx:  talisman shining; roar

Kaida:  Ah! The feet have been paralyzed!

Genzuki:  Kei-kun, do it now!

Nagao:  Leave it to me! Haah!

sfx: slashing; roar; collapse

Nagao:  Fuhh… We managed to exorcise it. Synthetic talismans, that’s quite handy, huh?

Kaida:  Mn, it has enough strength to at least anchor them in place. I’m glad the effect was perceivable.

Nagao:  Even when cooperative measures are somewhat disorderly, if we utilize this talisman from now on, we’ll be able to halt them in their tracks, right? Seems like fighting with demons is going to get at least a little bit easier! Heck if I know DeLunacy’s goal, but we gotta come up with more ways to oppose them. *

Genzuki:  DeLunacy?

Nagao:  The person who’s gotten so enthusiastic about driving demons into madness. Kaida named the devices that cause demons to go mad the Treasure Chests of Lunacy, right? Then, let’s just give the culprit the name DeLunacy.

Genzuki:  That is true. Then I guess I’ll call them that too. And it’s easy to understand. That aside, Haru-kun, that talisman just now! Not much time has passed since you said you wanted to create it, and you’ve already finished a prototype.

Kaida:  This is also because of the collaboration of my assistant. The success of this research has put e at ease. We’ve got to keep this up, this still a long, long way to go.

Genzuki:  Mn. Let’s be mindful about the three of us’ cooperation, and keep fighting together from now on.

Kaida + Nagao:  Yeah!

Translation notes

*  Nagao’s nickname for the culprit is a play on words – well, a play on grammar. To recap, Kaida named the box-shaped devices Kyouki no Tamatebako  ->  Treasure Chest of Lunacy, with a pun on the word for ‘lunacy’ that includes the kanji for ‘demon.’ My translation worked out so that in both Japanese and English, the grammar can be reinterpreted to mean a Treasure Chest belonging to someone named Lunacy. I settled on DeLunacy for the culprit’s nickname. It serves as a contraction of ‘demon lunacy’ but also has a structure like those European surnames that begin with de, di, etc., meaning ‘of.’

Hi again Taddy,

I can’t stop thinking about your Jay dad au 😅 and in one of your asks you said that Kaida introduces Jay to the Starfarer comics. That got me thinking, how would Lloyd react to seeing Jay bond with Kaida??? Would it make him reminisce over when he was being raised by Jay and the other’s. Would he think about he and Jay aren’t as close as they were when he was younger? Especially since Jay and Lloyd don’t interact much as the seasons progress???

I'm a firm believer Lloyd and Jay deserve more screentime! They barely interact in the new seasons and should be gremlins together!

While their relationship is obviously different from Jay and Kaida's because with him Jay acts more like an older brother than a father, there are several parallels I like to make with both characters. Like it was Jay who taught Lloyd the lesson of learning to control and guide his power and then he does the same thing again with Kaida.

Of course, Lloyd and Kaida's elements are not the same, as one has to do with create pure energy and the other with controlling souls, but I like the idea that Jay might be able to teach them both since all three possess elements that are quite wild and unpredictable so they require absolute control to dominate them.

In DR, Lloyd would initially feel frustrated and sad that his brother not only does not want to interact with them, but he also has no interest in returning to his old life. It's not the same as when he tried to get Zane to remember him in S11 because this time it's not that Jay is being controlled or possessed, he simply can't and won't remember them due to his denial of the past.

And obviously things are much more complicated because Kaida is there too and Lloyd knows what it's like to hold on to the only family you have. So it's not as simple as telling them that they can trust them. So Lightning Pin they are going to have some friction with each other (particularly the whole thing about Jay and Kaida having a habit of believing that killing is the only way to get rid of an enemy in contrast to Lloyd who believes that all life is valuable)

But yeah, I am going to touch a lot on the topic of how each ninja reacts to Kaida's presence, but especially Lloyd since his reaction as a leader and he is the only one on the team who sees Jay as his older brother (while the others see him as his younger brother) is going to be very interesting

It happened when Lady Jesus took over poor kaida completely, locking her in a mental cage in Kaida's mind. When Kaz and Oliver went to caldera to save Skylar and kaida, starting to lose luck in doing so. Kaida had thought of a shit ton of ways to escape, but Lady jesus made the cage harder for it to unlock for kaida. When Lady jesus was distracted by arguing to her mother about her new look, kaida had enough time to escape and kill Lady Jesus. She had realized that to kill a rook, you have to break their heart. Now the two are in a mental battle between each other. As kaida was beating L.J, Lady Jesus had other plans. The entity slashed the human girl's throat and stabbed her over and over until she couldn't move anymore. She had succeeded her mission. To kill the villain, Gargoyle's, child that had his powers of dreams. (I'll explain this one another time, if you'd like). However, Lady Jesus had been banished to The Land because it wasn't the right child that had Gargoyle's powers. And now, with kaida telling Oliver that she loves him, died.

Oliver takes kaida in his arms and puts her on a gurney as Kaz did the same to skylar. "You take care of skylar, ill take care my darling" "on it" and so, the two boys try to heal the girls. Skylar ended up surviving, however, kaida did not. "Kai? Darling? Kai! Kaida!" Oliver yelled her name, trying to shake her awake with no avail. "Kiss her" Kaz and Skylar say at the same time. "What?" "KISS HER!" everyone in the whole hospital shout, shocking the boy. And so, Oliver kisses her. True loves kiss will definitely help. Kaida's heart monitor was now beeping, but Kai still not up. "Kaida! Wh-" "She has to kill the rook in her mind before she can wake up again" "how long will that take?" Oliver asked Skylar. "Days, weeks, months. It's depends on what kind of rook. But, since it's Lady Jesus, Kai might not wake up for a long while."

on the subject of historical worldbuilding, i bring you the two tidbits i actually do have.

the first tidbit: in Cross the Line (chapter 2, specifically), katsuki and izuku watch a series of bad all might movies. the second movie gives all might a fiction sidekick unsubtly based on a real historical figure—the first submissive hero, morioka kaida. [she still needs a hero name. and a quirk. shh]

the second tidbit: kurogiri is a sub in this universe. i had two options there: either oboro was initially a dom or switch, and the nomu-creating process made kurogiri a sub anyway, or oboro was always a sub. i went with the second route and decided to give oboro the honor of being the first submissive at UA.

so. that means that the ban on submissive heroes would’ve been lifted right before oboro (and aizawa, midnight, and mic) came to UA, making morioka only a few years older than them.

speaking of her, let’s extrapolate from izuku’s rambling about her portrayal in the film. she was a submissive posing as a switch going through hero school (not UA, i said it was UA in the fic and that’s wrong/will be changed, but somewhere).

morioka was an excellent student, fourth in her class. but after being outed in her third year, she was expelled and immediately became the center of a national scandal. she spent several months fighting the expulsion, eventually being granted the right to graduate and become a hero. [when i have free time i’ll look up law stuff and flesh out the exact legal timeline more]

an agency took her on as a sidekick, but she spent most of six months resigned to menial work and search and rescue. after she made a minor, but public, mistake during a rescue, she was unceremoniously dropped and no other agency wanted to risk taking her on. morioka reluctantly retired from hero work, turning to activism instead. some conspiracy theorists argue that she became a vigilante as well, unable to fully give up her career, but surely she would never do something like that….and even if she did, it’s not like you can prove it!

ahem. anyway, all of that was happening when oboro and co. were around 13-14, just before they started at UA. obviously he had been following the situation closely, and looked up to morioka as a hero. he may or may not have had a phase where he tried to prove she was still out there as a vigilante.

the movie bkdk watch in Cross the Line comes out about two years after submissives are allowed in the hero program, so late in the kids’ second year. it’s a very unflattering portrayal of a submissive sidekick that ends with morioka’s stand-in choosing a more “suitable” career and giving up heroism. the kids would have absolutely hated that. oboro in particular vowed to be the best hero possible and prove that morioka was right.

then, only a few weeks later, he dies.

and that’s about all i got, historically, which isn’t even great because it all occurs within 20 years of the “present” timeline. still, might be something of a jumping-off point

        I was walking around Hammerlocke when I heard whimpering from near the wild area. Curious, I walked towards the area and saw a hybrid articuno with a human and ran to their aid. “Mx. you alright?” I asked, running a hand against one of their wings. “Ow! Ow…” they said, whimpering. I looked closely at one of the purple-blue wings and saw nothing but blood coming out. They probably got shot in the air by a hunter.”May I ask what happened?” I asked, helping them into my lap. “A-are you one of p-papa’s friends?” The small child asked, fear in their voice. “Hm? Who’s your father?” Then it hit me, this poor hybrid child got hurt by their father in the wing! “H-he's a pokemon scientist, his name is C-Colress…” They said, snuggling into my jacket. I knew Colress, and I wasn't his friend at all, I growled at the fact he hit this poor kid and made my anger worse. “He u-used a sharp p-pocket knife to stab my wing because i m-misbehaved, so i ran a-away from t-the l-ab” They said, now crying into my chest. I rubbed their back  in a comforting way and managed to calm them. “Hey, you're a galarian Articuno hybrid right?” I asked, trying to get to know them. “M-mhm, my name’s K-kaida, i was born this way, my mom was killed by papa, he did it right in f-ront of me, that's why i-im bleeding..” the kid said in a calm yet scared manner. “It’s nice to meet you, Kaida, I’m Raihan, you are next to my gym here in Hammerlocke” I replied,they got enough courage to look at me, their eyes were such a pretty blue color like mine. “You really are a cute thing, my mom and dad would absolutely adore you, how about I take you into my gym, patch you up, and you can wear one of my hoodies and leggings?” I asked, to which Kaida smiled, it was a small one but it was so cute. “O-ok makua(Father in Hawaiian, surprisingly my Rai knows Hawaiian well)” they said, trying to stand up but failing.”Here, let me help you” I helped them up, holding them. “Kaida loves papa,” Kaida said, making me chuckle. “Cmon, i'll carry you” I said, taking her with me to my stadium.

       When we got to the stadium, I gently sat Kaida on a table and got a first aid kit out. “I'm gonna bandage your injured wing and let me know if it hurts, ok sweetheart?” I said, fluffing their hair. A small nod came from them and I gently put some wrap on the injured part of the wing, trying my best to not injure it more. I finished it up and helped them down. “Go find one of my hoodies and some leggings, then come back, ok? I’m gonna take you somewhere.”I said, and they nodded and ran off. A couple minutes later they came back and were wearing one of my extra hoodies, a pair of leggings, and a bow in their hair. “I'm back m-makua” they said, running into my arms for a hug. “Hey Kaida!” I said, hugging them tightly. They smiled as I lifted them into the air and onto my shoulders. “Makua, am I a monster? Because people always call me a monster,” Kaida asked. I stopped in my tracks and put them down. “Kaida dear, why do you think that? You’re beautiful! Colress can't hurt you, I'm taking you to get some clothing that is comfy on you so we can meet some of my friends” I reassured them, ruffling their soft dirty blonde hair. A smile formed on their face, as well as some tears. “M-makua!” Kaida said, hugging my legs. "I'll protect you with all my power, you're not alone, you have me" I said, a giggle coming from them for the first time ever. I took Kaida's hand and we walked to a flying taxi to head to wyndon.

Life with Kaida isn't easy, after all you're a simple farmer, you don't make much money. And understandably having to feed yourself and a half-dragon child (who has a considerably larger appetite than a human child) is a little more expensive than what is considered normal for a single farmer with no children (that any one in town knows of) to be required to make in a week. But even through all the hardships and challenges you two have to face, Kaida is still your daughter and you love her all the same.

There wasn't many overly memorable moments with Kaida other than stuff that normal fathers and daughters go through, but the was one time that still remains in your memory, one time when Kaida was 12, (she was dropped at your house when she was 3) (most dragon children are able to fully transform by the time they are 2) the dragon came back to check up on how well of job you were doing taking care of her, Kaida was very mad at him for leaving her, you remember that was the first time Kaida swore in front of you, but later told you she was thankful he did because you were beat father she could ask for. The next day Kaida asked you to hire a draconic magic trainer to help her with gaining control over her draconic powers.

You are now 39 (you were 24 when she arrived) and Kaida is now 18 and ready to move out and get a job, and maybe start a business, just so you can live a better life than you had when she was growing up. When Kaida tells you that she plans to leave, you start tearing up, like any parent would, but, when Kaida promises to visit at least once a month and on holidays, you let her go and get back to the farm.

A few years later (when she's 22) one time when Kaida comes on her monthly visit, she tells you some good news, she managed to start her own hotel for non-human races in a primarily human populated area in a popular cross road in the main road in the area.(for reference your town is in an area mostly populated by humans, that is used as a stop on a popular trail to a big multi-race city) She decides that you should be the front desk manager and that you get to have permanent residence there along with her and her future family.

You are now 52 and Kaida is 31 with a wife and an adopted a half-orc child(they're 8) (yay! You're a grandfather!) And you all live happily with one another in the owners section of the hotel, you still man the front desk, Kaida's wife, Elanor, an elf, is the head of the room cleaning staff, Kaida obviously is the owner, and Istrax, their child helps with the guests' luggage(his orc DNA makes him stronger).

Kaida was really successful because of her idea for the hotel, she made more than enough from the hotel to support the five of you,(she's basically the family's sugar mommy) but you and Elanor still work jobs that don't pay much but you both are really passionate about. You took up word carving, and Elanor took up sewing.

Istrax is an art prodigy and hopes to become an artist one day.

You are a humble farmer when a dragon suddenly appears, he wants you to take his young dragon daughter that is unable to turn fully into a dragon and no longer wants her, before you could respond he fly’s away leaving her behind, she then looks at you and ask “Are you my new daddie/mommy?”

Drakaida and her siblings were born from the forbidden love between a elven princess and a human laird. They were born during the tumultuous years of the War of Thorns that was caused by their parent's union. As the war raged on Drakaida and her sibling's existence remained unknown to all but a few trusted allies.

Drakaida stuck her brush in the paint and tried to concentrate on her painting. Looking out the window wistfully she sighed. She would much rather be out running through the fields or practicing with her sword. Of course, if her mother knew about the sword she would never be allowed outside.

"Dra watch what you are doing!" her little sister Sarya screeched as she knocked over a paint cup.

"Sorry" Drakaida mumbled glancing at her sister "I was thinking of Father and the boys" what she didn't say was she wanted to be fighting beside them. It wasn't fair even 11-year-old Haryk got to be in battle; and he didn't even want to go.

Lady Kaida quietly approached the easels her daughters stood at. As usual Drakaidas picture was not the best done; thought with motherly love of course.

"Drakaida you must concentrate" she said gently tsking in her usual way.

"Im so sorry mother, I really do try. But you can hear the battle and I worry." she hated upsetting her mother. Her voice would not change but the look in her eyes said it all.

"Why don't you go gather herbs for my medicine chest. Oh, and feed the dragons in the mews" she told her daughter smiling. "Just don't go out of sight of the gatehouse. The battle is not as close as you think but you never know what could happen." turning slowly she inspected the twin's work.

Siora smiled thinking she was the lucky one. She was supposed to clean care of the mews and hated that chore. Her dress always got dirty and smelly.

"Try not to wear dragon droppings today" she sneered.

Tuning to her sister she smiled sweetly. "If I do, I will make sure to sit next to you at supper"

"Girls, Ladies do not talk like that" Kaida admonished "and they do not make that face Siora"

Stepping into the mews she smiled and quickly fed the hawks and dragons. Too bad the dragons did not get any larger than hawks anymore. If they did the war would have been over long ago.

Once the dragons and hawks were fed, she quickly stepped out the postern gate into the cool forest. Wandering looking for herbs she got lost in thought. Suddenly Malfor hissed looking into the trees.

"Hush biy there is nothing there" She whispered; speaking any louder seemed to disturb the woods.

As she rounded a large oak tree, she stumbled upon an injured soldier clad in the colors of the enemy. His breathing was ragged, and armor stained with blood.

Shocked she looked around her and could see no signs of anyone else. Her compassionate heart urged her to approach the wounded man.

The man opened his eyes and tried to speak. Finally, he managed to croak out a few words "Help me please"

Drakaida knew she had to act quickly if the man were to survive; but should she help he was the enemy. Kneeling beside him she assessed his injuries. The wound on his leg was the most severe.

"We need to get you to safety." she said. But where could she take him? If she took him to the castle her family would kill him.

Suddenly she thought of a place; the abandoned cottage here in the forest. Nobody ever ventured there, as it was rumored to be haunted.

Pushing open the creaking door and carried the man inside. Dust mostes danced in the airand cobwebs clung to the corners but the fireplace still had a few logs stacked behind it.

She laid him on the moth-eaten pallet and set to work starting a fire. At he direction Malfor blew flames at the logs and a fire flickered to life.

Meanwhile she used water from the well and a few herbs to make a poultice for his leg.

She watched him for a short while bathing his head with cool water. Glancing outside she realized the time and knew she had to get home.

"I'm sorry sir knight but I must leave you for the night. Also, I cannot leave the fire burning." She poured water on the fire making sure the ashes went cold.

She entered the castle through the kitchen hearing the dinner bell sound. Groaning she realized she wouldn't have time to clean up and change. She sat the basket down and hurried to the dining hall.

As she entered the great hall Siora wrinkled her nose "Momma she stinks" her sister cried petulantly.

"Siora hush, Drakaida you really need to get home sooner to freshen up next time" Kaida said before signaling the servants to start serving.

Siora grabbed a piece of fowl of the trencher tearing into it angrily. Drakaida ate sparingly thinking about the man in the woods.

Suddenly the doors burst open to the great hall burst open startling the people inside.
