❅A/N : I’m so so sorry to hear that! Actually I have an audition for a play next week and I know how it feels when you don’t make the team or get the role you want :(((((( but not making it doesn’t make you less good and hopefully you can see it to move forward and improve!!! I BELIEVEEEE

ALSO I HOPE ITS GOOD I HAVEN’T WRITTEN ANYTHING IN A LONG TIME

Kageyama

You were never late to your get-togethers or dates with Kageyama, always being way too excited to talk about them a day before to even think about arriving a minute late. This time was different, this time you weren’t just a few minutes late. Kageyama had been waiting for about thirty minutes at this point at the entrance of the carnival that recently opened. Worried was an understatement, the man was practically silently panicking while looking like he was about to wet his pants from how worried he was for you. You didn’t answer his bunch of texts nor his bombardment of calls. Did something happen? Were you just kidnapped and he didn’t know about it? His thoughts were interrupted as a familiar figure appeared next to him poking his cheek.

“Sorry I’m late…” You faked a smile as you poked your boyfriend who was in a trance causing him to jolt awake and immediately hug you tightly making sure you were real and he wasn’t just hallucinating. “Yes, Tobio it’s me…” You couldn’t help the giggle escape from your lips from how silly your boyfriend was at times. Your boyfriend noticed how soft your voice was before he decided to speak up and immediately bombarded you with questions “Y/N! What took you so long? You’re never late! Did something happen? Why didn’t you answer any of my texts or calls?”

“I uhm… it’s a long story… can we just um… get inside?” You pointed at the carnival right in front of the both of you with people going inside. Kageyama noticed your face was practically frowning even if you had a smile plastered on your face, ultimately deciding not to press on further and instead lead you to the carnival still with a hint of worry.

Throughout the day Kageyama noticed how bothered you were. Sure you smiled, laughed and looked genuine when you said and acted like you had a good time but even with how dense he was he could tell the mask you were putting on. He didn’t know how to get you to talk about it, both not wanting to pester you about something you didn’t wanna talk about and not knowing how to get you to even fess up in the first place. He decided that cheering you up with the carnival activities would be the only thing he could do without doing something stupid with how naturally idiotic he could be at times.

Every game you both tried he would try extremely hard to get you a prize even if you didn’t necessarily want anything. By the time you both were done with the activities you were practically drowning in the prizes he had won for you to which he offered to carry it all for you till you eventually found plastic bags to carry them with. When you both decided to eat he decided on buying you everything you want and all of the desserts just to make you happy. You appreciated it a lot, really you did but this was definitely getting out of hand and you needed to stop this.

“Hey Tobio… thanks for all these prizes but… you didn’t have to win them all for me… I really appreciate it though” You gave him a soft smile as you ate your food while your boyfriend looked up at you and shook his head “No I wanted to win them for you, I had fun winning them anyways” Kageyama smiled back at you as he went back to eating his food. His eyes were looking away from you before he took a sigh and decided he didn’t want to beat around the bush anymore “Well you also looked sad… I didn’t wanna be pushy so um… I wanted to cheer you up on this day… Y/N I can’t stand it when you're sad… please can you tell me what’s wrong?”

“I-I… you know… I-I didn’t make it in the team… you tried so hard and helped me practice… I’m sorry…” your voice slightly cracked as you spoke, holding in the sobs from coming out by taking a deep breath and looking down. Kageyama immediately pulled you in for a tight hug letting you rest your head to his chest before he spoke “Hey, it’s okay… Y/N… I know you really wanted to get into the team but… you still got a lot of chances to try out… we’re still juniors after all… Don’t let this bother you or bring you down okay?” Kageyama grabbed one of the stuffed animals he had gotten as a prize and placed it in your arms before smiling at you “C’mon, cheer up… I’ll go win you more prizes, there was a really good panda stuffie earlier” you shook your head as you started to smile again making his heart swell “You don’t have to Tobio I think my room’s gonna be full of these things…” you both chuckled before you grabbed the stuffie and pulled it close to your chest and smiled happily “Hey, as long as I see that cute smile… I’ll win everything from the carnival if I have to.”

Oikawa

“If you aren’t going to play properly you should sit this one out” Iwaizumi sighed in annoyance trying to hold back his want to lash out at the captain. Oikawa seemed out of it, unable to set properly, his hand usually kept slipping on the ball which annoyed the team.

“Let’s call a time-out, Crappykawa is totally out of it” Iwaizumi sighed before Matsun went over and flicked the chestnut haired captain’s head to bring him back to reality.

“Huh? Where are you all–” Oikawa blinked before Iwaizumi interrupted him with a sigh and an annoyed tone to his voice.

“You can’t focus so we’re taking a break” Iwaizumi sat down grabbing his bottle of water and taking a large gulp before looking back again at Oikawa with a more sympathetic expression “You’re worried about Y/N right?”

“I uh…” Oikawa scratched the back of his head before the other third years sighed with Makki speaking up first “Look we know you’re worried about their tryouts right? Chill, Y/N’s skilled, they'll be able to do it.”

The other third years nodded in agreement, you were quite skilled so they were pretty sure that you’d make it to the varsity team. Oikawa was confident in your skills too, but he didn’t know why he felt some sort of uncertainty and nervousness.

“You guys are right… I just… I don’t know why I feel so nervous… it’s weird…” Oikawa sighed in frustration, his hands now on the temple of his head making the other third year pat his back. “We get that, you love them way too much and you want every chance to see them succeed right?” Matsun looked at the stressed captain and patted his back to reassure him. Oikawa nodded to his statement, he loved you way too much and he’d travel the whole world to see your precious smile and the third years knew this, it was cute yet pretty annoying at times. “You guys are right… I shouldn’t be worried… They’ll make–” Oikawa smiled confidently, switching back to his usual personality before they all heard the knock from the gym door with you walking in with your head down. “Y/N! I missed you! Yes, even if we’ve only been one class away from each other!” The others sighed watching Oikawa practically dashing towards you and hugging you tightly almost instantly before you tried smiling and patting his back. “Heya Y/N!” Makki called out with his usual smile doing a hand motion to call both of you to sit down next to them. However seeing how down you looked it caused the smiles of both the third years and your boyfriend to fade. “Something wrong? If you find that your crappy boyfriend is annoying you right now I’ll go kick his ass right now” Iwaizumi joked trying to cheer you up while causing the two third years burst out in laughter while your boyfriend pouted in annoyance. Their laughter soon stopped when you tried speaking up but having to stop yourself with your eyes starting to glisten with tears. Oikawa immediately noticed this, holding you tight with his hands on your cheeks trying to comfort you “Hey hey… I’m here, what’s wrong?”

You looked up to your boyfriend trying to swallow the sobs from escaping your throat before you finally were able to speak up “I-I… um… I-I didn’t make it…”

Hearing this caused all the other third years to look at you with sympathetic looks while your boyfriend hugged you as tight as he could, straddling you on his lap to comfort you as much as he could. “I know how much you wanted to get into the team…” Oikawa wiped away the tears that fell from your cheeks as you tried to calm down sniffling softly as quiet sobs escaped your lips. “I-I’m sorry… I wasn’t g-good e-enough… y-you worked h-hard in h-helping me a-and–” You tried apologizing but Oikawa immediately shut you up by tightening his hug and interrupting you. “Don’t say that Y/N… you are good okay? Not making it in doesn’t matter to me… It doesn’t mean anything either. I believe in your skills…” Oikawa kissed your forehead to comfort you and smiled in a reassuring manner. “And to be honest, I’d help you any day any time cause playing my favorite sport with you is more than enough to make me happy” The other third years nodded to Oikawa’s statements, each of them with their own snarky comments.

“Yeah the idiot is right, you have killer spikes you know? And you aren’t a pain in the ass to teach” Iwaizumi gave you a soft yet reassuring smile while giving a small side eye to his best friend. “Yeah! Why’d you think we let you play with us while we practice? You’re pretty good to be keeping up with us. Hell if we could we’d replace your idiot boyfriend for you!” Makki snickered, and patted your back and nodded to what Iwaizumi said before adding the snarky comment at the end, making your boyfriend glare and smack him. Matsun chuckled before getting in between them to prevent your boyfriend from acting up again. “Your whiny boyfriend is right, we all have fun playing with you, it’s not just him that gets really happy playing with you.” Oikawa sighed at his comment before nodding in agreement as his pout shifted into his usual smirk that you loved. “T-Thanks… you guys really know how to cheer me up…” You say chuckling with all the snarky comments your friends usually made to your boyfriend before you felt Oikawa wipe away the rest of your tears. “Of course! We’re always here for you, you’re just too amazing” Oikawa started his usual smug praise of you making the others sigh with amusement while you laughed at their annoyance.

“Why don’t you help us practice? I know you didn’t make it but hey I know how much love playing with us” The others looked at you with expecting glances knowing how you won’t decline. Before you could even speak Makki pulled you away from your boyfriend “We know you won’t say no so let’s go!” this left your boyfriend seething with anger that his friend had taken you away “Hey!!! Makki give them back! They’re mine not yours!”

Matsun and Iwaizumi sighed before chuckling in amusement at watching the two at it again “Just make it fast Tooru! I wanna play!” You say playfully before grabbing a ball and passing it to your boyfriend. “Yeah get a move on boyfriend!” Matsun teased as both him and Iwaizumi walked to the court as Matsun slapped the captain’s back before chuckling snarkily. “You better play well, or I’ll kick your ass again” Iwaizumi glared seriously as all of them waited for the captain which had an annoyed pout although it shifted to a smile seeing you laugh and turn happy again “Yeah yeah whatever… I can’t fail my team now can I? I know you all need me that much after all” Oikawa’s snarky remark caused the other third years to groan at his ego but it seemed to make you laugh which made Oikawa smile even more smugly like he always did.

Actually saw and knew about the trend, but he didn't expect you to do this, so when he found out you were following the trend, he was taken aback.

though what he couldn't understand is why the hell is he grumpy and displeased about it even though he knows that it is just a prank

"Heyy, your mouth could reach the ground, stop pouting! you knew it was a prank, so why are you acting like that"

"You're such a child, why are you even doing those things?" he said sharply.

If you've just been his girlfriend for a short time, his remarks will hurt you, but at this point you just know that it's either his love language or he was born that way.

"So who's the grumpy one because I did some 'childish stuff'?" you laughed

You returned to the prank and began typing random letters while giggling, and then your phone was taken away in a matter of seconds.

"Hey! what are you doing!"

He checked your phone with strained brows, then handed it to you, his countenance considerably calmer now.

"What did you do?"

"I don't usually check phones coz that's your privacy but I can't help it, stop that antics of yours and just cuddle me that would've been better"

"I don't want to!"

"oh trust me you do"

OIKAWA, Atsumu, Kuroo, Terushima

"YOU DID ME SO DIRTY, I'LL BE DOIN' THE SAME >:("

It was a typical day for you and him; he was busy packing for an international match, at the same time you were laughing on your phone.

"What's the matter, babe?" He asked

He stopped doing his thing while his gaze fall upon you.

"N-nothing! I'm j-just talking with a friend.."

Your nervous chuckle made his eyebrow shot up. When he's packing his belongings, you usually help him, but he thinks it's strange because you're texting and giggling with someone else instead.

You snickered as you swiftly glanced at him, seeing his brow furrowed while stiffly folding his clothes.

That caused him to stare at you again, and this time he can't help himself.

"Babe."

"y-yeah?"

"Who are you texting."

"he's a-"

"He?! I haven't left yet and you are replacing me right away??"

You turned your phone off, trying not to giggle, and reached out your hand to him, which he ignored while looking at you.

"Explain." he sternly said, with his arms crossed.

"It was nothing! I just saw a video online about fake texting and I decided to-"

He interrupted you by laughing dryly. You handed him your phone and told him to check it himself if he was doubtful.

"I don't have to, I believe you. I can't just believe that you did this to me!"

You hugged him because he looked betrayed.

"Just wait until I start giggling and kicking my feet while texting someone!"

His childish words made you roll your eyes; he'll certainly never do this ever. He is totally committed to you.

SAKUSA, Kageyama, Ushijima

"UH YEAH OKAY GO ON, I'M HURT BUT I WON'T BE SAYIN' THAT TO YOU"

Your boyfriend arrived at your shared condo late at night. Tired and feeling a bit drowsy, you knew exactly what he needs. yourself

But, for the time being, he will not be getting that. You're busy pretending to text someone.

"My hugs..?"

You ignored him as you shifted your body so that it looked like you were hiding what you'd been doing.

"Love.. what are you doing?" he asked again

His voice was soft and desperate, so you kept typing random letters and let out a quick giggle that drew his attention.

"Oh are you talking with Sana-san?" he concluded

You finally looked at him with a grin on your face, finding his conclusion amusing.

"No, babe, I was talking with a male friend.. have you eaten?" you returned the question

You could see his eyes widen a little; he knew you didn't have any close male friends, so you expected him to question you. He, however, did not.

"Oh, okay.. go on continue talking to him."

His cold, trying-not-to-sound-jealous voice was hilarious, his ears growing red, and the way he acts in the next minutes confirms his jealousy.

He's always been this way; he's not the very jealous type, and when he is, he attempts to hide it and fails miserably. He'll be stiff and irritable, as though he doesn't know how to act.

After a few minutes had gone and you had not heard from him, you stood up and provided him a back hug.

"Hey baby, I was just kidding.. I missed you so much.."

He shifted his weight and is now facing you with a less tense manner, but his brow wrinkled clearly indicates that he needs a little clarification.

"You preferred to play some pranks on me rather than give me my hugs."

AKAASHI, Iwaizumi, Kita, Hinata, Sugawara, Osamu, Daichi

"I UNDERSTAND YOU MWA (ɔˆ ³(ˆᴗˆc)"

He got confused when he called you for dinner and you were still on your phone, texting and laughing constantly. especially since you had a motto "food always comes first!"

"My love? I called for you, you can continue that later.." He called again

He got your attention, and you acted annoyed by turning your phone off in a tetchy manner.

"Eat first, you were doing what?"

"I was messaging a friend, and he invited me to watch a movie with some of our mutual friends."

You assumed him to question you, but knowing your partner's personality, he didn't. You finished your dinner, but he's still all smiles!

What you expected did not come around, and guess what? He even insisted on driving you to the place you were going.

Because of how things played out, your prank was reversed, and you are now the one who is grumpy.

"Hmmm, why are you acting this way?" he gently asked as he kissed the furrow in your brow.

"Nothing!"

He laughed at your defensive tone, still holding you in his arms;

"I love you.."

Blurb (Tsukishima's POV):

It's dark outside by the time practice ends. I feel gross with how sweaty I am and musty the air is in the gym, I need to get out quick. I thank the coach and my captain and quickly leave for the locker room. I sent a quick text to Yuno that i'm gonna be like in 15 minutes. I try to be as quick as possible because we are having a dinner date at a local place in a bit and I don’t wanna be late. After my shower I send another text to Yuno that I'm done and he can meet me outside.

I walk out of the locker room and through the front door to the outside, this is nice. I feel my body temperature cooling down and I can finally somewhat relax. I wait a couple of minutes before I hear yuno calling my name, “Tsuki i'm over here!” I look around for a second to see where he was and I see him at the entrance of the parking lot. I walk over there as quickly as possible. When I walk over to him I pull him in by the waist with one arm and kiss the top of his head, “Wow Tsuki, didn’t realize you missed me so much” Yuno says with a smirk “Oh shut it” I reply back with a small smile “Now lets go”.

So you wanted to suprise akaashi for his birthday even if he kept telling everyone he didnt want a party (deep inside he wanted a suprise party but doesnt wanna have his hopes too high)

So you and kenma planned a skit-like prank on bokuto and hinata on how kenma passed out on the floor and “dies”

to get akaashi and his friends to come.

You dialed hinata.

“ HINATA!” You said fake crying and whimpering

“ oh my god! What happend?”

He starts getting worried, but you’re actually holding your laugh.

“ KENMA DIED! (You trying so hard not to burst out laughing) HE PASSE D OUT ON THE FLOOR AND THEN I TRIED KICKING HIM NOW HES NOT BREATHING”

“ ILL COME OVER!” he says panicking

“ oh-uh BRING AKAASHI,BOKUTO, AND KUROO!”

“ OKAY!” He says being gullible enough

“ Guys if kenma really died can i have his ps4” bokuto says while walking to your apartment

“ No bo, get the ps5 instead.” Kuroo added.

“ none of you guys will get kenma’s stuff! lets just find them and see what really happend.” Akaashi says

While entering the house it was dark. The lights were off.

As soon as akaashi opens the light-

“ Suprise!”

Akaashi felt a chill on his body, it felt warm.

He likes knowing someone actually cares.

“ i kept telling her to not do it, i guess you wanted it too.” Kenma says.

Akaashi tears up on seeing this.

“ aw man so i can’t get kenma’s ps4?”

Bokuto whines.

“ in your dreams, bokuto.” kenma scoffs

Now you guys just eat apple pie and cake and just enjoying the blue hour!

😭😭😭 the fact that everyone’s planning who gets Kenma’s possessions 😩

Also the fact that Hinata would not question why he would need to bring Bokuto, Kuroo and Akaashi with him

They are literally the definition of super volleyball idiots and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH 😭

Imagine Hinata texts the entire Team Japan on the way

“So you mean Kenma isn’t dead…”

Kenma 👉🏻 🧍‍♂️I’m literally right here-

“Ok well there might be a few people coming,” Hinata 😬

Suddenly the door bursts open and Kageyama, Atsumu, Ushijima, Sakusa, Hoshiumi, Suna, Yaku, Komori, Aran and the whole gang flood in

“Hinata!” You shout

“WELL HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW!” He screams

“Wait so this isn’t a funeral?” Atsumu says

“KENMA THANK GOD YOU’RE ALIVE! Kuroo what are you doing here?” Yaku asks 🤨

“Why wouldn’t I be at Kenma’s funeral?!?” Kuroo shouts

“YN next time please just take me out for a nice quiet dinner,” Akaashi says
