John Smith trying to guess which one was the counterfeit had me dying man Cid is hilarious. Bro had sweat dripping down his face while guessing. The fact he’s running this whole scheme which is affecting his own subordinate’s business is comedic gold.

It was good to see Gamma in action as well and of course always good to see best girl Rose. Her being so close to the guy she likes and not even knowing it is pretty sad. On the bright side she does seem to be adjusting to life in the shadow garden pretty well.

Can’t wait for next episode, so far been a phenomenal adaptation

Eminence in Shadow is so great cause it's a show that you just don't have to pay 100% attention too because of how dumb it is. I zoned out for like 8 minutes of an episode and honestly felt like I missed nothing at all cause the show just refuses to take itself seriously in any way, shape or form. Truly the isekai anime of all time.

the crap i'll watch for my favourite seiyuus... i love you hina youmiya, i really do, but i don't know how much i can take of bokuyaba. ofc that's the thing that's getting a 2nd season, and not tenten... i even watched a few minutes of the new kagejitsu cuz it has both ai kakuma and hina in it but i think both their characters are fairly, if not very minor ones so yeah. well, i guess bokuyaba episode 1 was at least worth it since i got to hear hina's laugh (that sounds kinda creepy lol) but then again, it just makes me think that i was robbed for not getting to hear her laugh like that as lainie cyan. been thinking of rewatching sono bisque doll just for shinju and that one was at least entertaining enough but still... straight romance is such a drag.

Another awesome episode. Arguably the best of the second season. The John Smith vs Gettan fight was great. John breaking Gettan’s jaw as bro was about to take more of those power up pills was brutal. Then literally beating bro to death, Jesus

What I liked most about this one though was how the misunderstandings kept piling up one after another eventually leading to Yukime joining the harem and working as the underbelly of Shadow Garden’s business front. Not to mention she’s now his “precious thing”

More great Delta and Cid interactions at the end of the episode. It’s hilarious how Cid just plays her for a fool in all their convos. “I didn’t make a promise with you” 😂 and well there’s the financial crisis avoided with Delta recovering Gettan’s buried treasure.

Hilarious memey episode that really encapsulates everything good about this series. A series of misunderstandings that snowball into Cid’s master plan.

Fall 2023 Anime-Round Up

Incredibly strong season for anime. Popular IP's finally getting their anime adaptions (Frieren, Kusariya). More enjoyable sequels (Spy x Family, Kagejitsu). And probably the biggest anime in existence finally finally came to it's conclusion (AOT)

oh and Zom 100 finally came back from production hell lol

SPY×FAMILY Season 2 - (8/10)

I never liked how SpyFam diluted into an A plot or B plot with each and every episode after the second cour of the first season. This also occurred in S2 but was definitely a return to form for this show. Everything else was mostly the same stuff. If you loved S1, you'll lvoe this. Very excited for the upcoming movie.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season - The Final Part - (10/10)

What can I say about this juggernaut of a franchise ending that hasn't already been said? I still remember myself in 2013 watching the first episode of Attack on Titan being floored that anime could be like this. If it wasn't for this show I would not have discovered of what Japanese Animation has to offer outside of Naruto and One piece. Thank you so much to all the staff involved in making this- From WIT and MAPPA.

Arknights: Perish in Frost - (8.5/10)

Very engaging season of Arknights. Can very much see why Arknights fans say the writing just gets better and better with each chapter. Still not going to play the game tho lmao

Dead Mount Death Play Part 2 - (6/10)

Still enjoyable, and very much written by Narita. But man the production quality of this show took a major nose-dive and killed some enjoyment of this show. Very willing to watch more though.

The Ancient Magus' Bride Season 2 Part 2 - (8/10)

While DMDP suffered a animation dive in it's second half, Mahoyome absolutely ramped up it's production quality; both from a direction standpoint and animation.. Philomela was a fascinating character to watch and I'm so happy with how her arc ended up concluding. I don't khow much more time will be spent in the College, but hopefully we can more arcs about the other characters like that. Lucy plotline is still unresolved afterall.

Also finally an OP with animation that MATCHES Junna's vocal range. Love to see it.

The IDOLM@STER Million Live! - (7/10)

Can a show tell a story with 39 main characters across 12 episodes? Turns out, not really; But credit for trying though. The recent installment of the Imas franchise was a relatively safe one that didn't bother to do anything more than "Here are these girls and the quirks and troupes associated with them". That being said, The CG animation was incredible. Shirogumi outdid themselves with this show. Now I think I can say that Studio Orange isn't the only studio that successfully do a full CG anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen 2nd Season - (10/10)

My hope for HI/Shibuya Arcs getting the most pristine quality of treatment when they get animated was answered, and then some. The way it elevated each and every moment in the manga in ways that I would never expect or anticipated had me dying of excitement every week. It's tragic to see how horrible the circumstances were in making this show, but I very much appreciate all the hard work that the all the staff did in this season. They went above and beyond and I can't thank them enough

I never got a chance to watch the OG series growing up so I thought I would give this a shot. Kinda bored a lot though. I heard the next arc introduces a really great villain so I'll stick around for that.

Peak is back! Great to be back in this world with these insane but loveable characters. Can’t wait to see this arc animated. A lot of cool anime original stuff in this episode. If they keep up with the nice blend of source and original stuff, this is gonna be a special season.

I love how shadow uses the expression “I smell something” and all the girls start sniffing themselves and spraying perfume lmao.

God I missed Cid’s stupid humour. Him just repeating everything Mary said in the alley had me 😭 most unserious MC ever. Speaking of which, cool to see Mary in the anime finally

No Claire you can’t just drop that dude’s head. He had a family, man. He mattered too lmao.

The lawless city arc is fun from start to finish and I know Nexus got something special cooked up for us here. This season will be nonstop fun. If you liked season 1, this should exceed it in every way.

Can’t wait to see Elisabeth and some of the other characters that’ll be introduced this season. 🙏🏾

We already got a little tease of mommy dommy Yukime and she looks great in the anime too.

RAAAAAAH insane finale. Absolute masterclass of a job adapting this volume. Shadow vs Ragnarok and Mordred ended up being even more epic than in the book. They dragged the fight out in the best possible way.

This finale had everything that makes this series special. Whenever the first OP of a show plays during a big battle you know it’s peak. The over the top parody dialogue, the fights, the sound design, shadow just destroying people verbally and physically and some really cool lore. We now know about the multiverse and how these worlds sometimes collide with one another causing things to shift between. But that’s a two way street. If things are changing in this world, that also means the other worlds are getting affected too

It’s very rare that an isekai actually shows the world that the MC left behind. Back on our original earth, we see that it’s become a hellish wasteland with magic and cybernetic enhancements. I am so excited to see this volume animated, it’s my favourite in the series and I know with the production values of a movie that Nexus are going to cook. Nishino is such a fun character, and beta learning Japanese through social media be great as well 😂 Looking forward to those social media troll posts lol

Only issue I have is they didn’t show beta chasing him thru the portal at the end. They saved it for the the shorts on YouTube I guess so make sure you check those out

UOOOOOH we are so close to getting Elisabeth. So hype for next week’s climax and my bratty vampire queen 😭

As usual they’ve cut out some monologue and what not, but you’re always gonna lose that in these LN adaptations. As far as the action and comedy, it’s bit very well. Good job by Nexus of bringing it to life.

Love how Clare cuts such a cute moment with she and Mary short by telling her to mind her own business 😂

“Just like Epsilon pads her chest, I’ll pad my slime with coins” lmaooo. Cid was as good as ever today. Showing up just in the nick of time to save Mary and Clare and his overdramatic entrances never disappoint. Most unserious MC.

Back to LN adapted content. Another awesome episode that takes us back to the Oriana kingdom. We get to see how much killing her father is still weighing on rose. Of course there’s no way she’d let the shadow garden take out the only family she’s got left in her mother. But the shadow garden doesn’t really take out innocent people so that should’ve been an indication that something may be up with her mom..

Very nice of Cid to go out and save the lady’s restaurant with a massive donation. That scene of him landing face first was hilarious. Never ceases to make me laugh at how a character will be talking to cid and he’ll talk to himself and they think he’s replying 💀

Can’t wait to see things pick up next week. These last few eps should be peak.

Kagejitsu understandably got a lot of the hype today, but I’m just as sad to see ikenaikyo end. One of the most underrated shows of the year and one of the cutest romances 😩 gotta read this one for sure. Allen and Charlotte’s story was so sweet and pure. I like the concept of a male character helping a female character stand up for herself and regaining her sense of agency after years of abuse.

Not to mention the diabetes overload in every episode of this. It sucks it aired in such a packed season! Characters like Miacha, Eruca and Natalia were great compliments to the cast and made every episode enjoyable!
